Make the personalize link apear in the masthead

Hello all,
When I add the EU_Role to a user - the personalize link is added to the masthead.
When I add the 'Portal Personalization' workset directly to one of my roles - the workset appers on the DTN and not on the masthead.
How can I make it appear on the masthead like it dose when I add the EU_Role.
p.s. - in both cases the 'show personalize link in masthead' is checked.
Thanks in advance, Adi

Hi Adi,
If you have a custom role which you are going to assign to a group of users,
then you could try assigning eu_role to that group also. Then they will be getting the personalise link on the masthead along with that role.
I dont know if this is the solution you are looking for. But if you assign the workset directly to the role it may only come up in second level navigation.
Hope this helps

  • Cannot view personalize link in the portal header

I cannot see the personalize link in the portal header of the BI portal. I have already verified the two things below:
    1) personalize link is enabled in masthead iview through portal content->portal users->standard portal users->default frame work page-> select masthead-> open its properties->enable *Show Link in Masthead: Personalize *
    2) The end user role is assigned under content administration->portal content->content provided by sap->end user content->standard portal users->worksets->portal personalization.
What else can i check, please help. I need this for end users to carry out user mapping. Or any other way they can carry out user mapping ?
    thanks

    Hi Balajee,
He can see the masthead property Show link in Masthead: Personalize so I doubt you need to make any changes to the PAR file for masthead.
personalize link is enabled in masthead iview through portal content->portal users->standard portal users->default frame work page-> select masthead-> open its properties->enable *Show Link in Masthead: Personalize *

  • Enabling Personalize option in the Masthead.

    Hi All,
I want to assign personalize option in masthead to the users so that they can manage their passwords, and also i want to hide other options available in the Personalize like Changing themes etc. I want to restrict the user only to password management. I am getting the the personalize link in the masthead only if i assign eu_role to the user. My queries in this regard are listed below:
    1. Is it mandatory to assign eu_role to the user to get the personalize link in masthead. If not then how to achieve this.
    2. How can i modify the Default Standard Portal user role(eu_rule) to restrict the user from changing themes and only restricting them to manage passwords only in the Personalize link in the masthead.
I hope somebody must have explored these areas. Awaiting a suitable reply.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sarabjeet Singh.

    Hi Sarabjeet,
Just want to make sure everything is clear.
The navigation service gets the navigation hierarchy for the current user. The iViews/pages underneath any top level nodes that has a merge ID of PORTAL_PERSONALIZATION are placed in the personalization window, and the top level node is not displayed in the navigation iViews.
To add personalization iViews for a new roles, you can create your own workset of personalization iViews and add it as an entry point in your role.
To delete default personalization iViews, simply delete them from the standard user role (don't worry, these are just delta links which you can restore).
In SP14 and above, there is a navigation cache, so you may need to clear the cache if you change the structure within a role.
    Hope this help.

  • How can I make multiple PDF links open in the same second tab, instead of a 3rd, 4th etc.

I am working on a project for my Universities 125 year anniversary.  Essentially I've created a 125 year long digital yearbook, with a link to the University's actual digital yearbook for each individual year.  I'm wondering if there is a way that I can make all of the yearbook links open in the same second page.
IE:  Main Project open in a window,  when I click the 1939 Yearbook pdf hyperlink, the 1939pdf will open in the second window.  I then want to find a way so that after this, on the main page, I can click the 1940 yearbook pdf link and have the 1940 yearbook load on the second window, replacing the 1939pdf, instead of just opening the 1940pdf on a third new tab/window?
Note: I have all of the yearbook PDF's online and downloaded, so I can make the hyperlink send you to the site, or do a download style thing.
Thank for any help, and if anyone needs further information just ask me!

  • Make the link from the single cell of Bex Report and the image of bill

    Hi guys,
my client scan every bill and archive the image by File.net technology.
In our Bex Report we have the Bill number and we want to make the link from the single cell and the image of bill.
The possible paths to solve the problem are:
Replicate the image in BW and crate a link from the single cell and the image of document.
Create an URL link from the single cell and the image of document archived on File.net server.
In witch way we can to implement the two paths?
    Thank you.

    Hi Alessandro,
Have you seen "How To…Enhance your Web Query with the Table Interface"?

  • How to make the message choice as non-editable thru personalization

    Hi,
I have one requirement to make the messageChoice field as non-editable, how to do this thru personalization for particular page.
because the same region available in some other pages also, so i need to do only for that page.
    How to do?
    Thanks in advance,
    SAN

    Hi Shanthi,
If you want to make some rows editable and some as read-only, then the best thing to do is use an iterator. It is basically a class that implements interface IF_HTMLB_TABLEVIEW_ITERATOR and allows you to change properties of each cell of your table. You can do the following:
    1. Create an iterator class that implements this interface.
    2. Code method RENDER_CELL_START( ) to set all elements of a given row as read-only or editable as required.
    3. Leave other two methods empty but do activate them.
    4. Declare a public reference in your view implementation class of same type as this iterator class.
    5. Pass this iterator class to 'iterator' attribute of your <chtmlb:configTable> in view htm.
In the iterator class, you also need to access your table node to decide which rows to make editable and which row to make readonly. To do this, you can declare an attribute in this class of type CL_BSP_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_TV and instantiate it from the CONSTRUCTOR. And you can instantiate this iterator class from DO_VIEW_INIT_ON_ACTIVATION( ) of your view controller.

  • How can I hyperlink from FM to an external document and make the links work in PDF-XChange Viewer?

A couple of months ago some of you kindly taught me how to insert links to an external document in FrameMaker. The syntax that made all the difference, was the following:
    message openfile "H:/folder name/to/your/file.ext"
I converted my FrameMaker file to PDF format using Acrobat Distiller, and everything worked like a charm when the users opened the resulting PDF document in Acrobat Reader.
Much to my frustration, someone has now decided that the organisation should use PDF-XChange Viewer instead of Acrobat Reader, and my links don't work anymore... Nothing happens when you click on them. (This only applies to links to external documents. Links to e.g. websites work nicely.)
Has anybody got any idea what I could do to make the links work in PDF-Xchange Viewer as well? Or am I trying to do the impossible now?
    Best regards

  • How to make the border of a linked pciture go away in IE(8)

picture A links to picture B. A blue border around picture A appears and when I clicked picture A which now links and displays pictures B, but after going back to the page that contains picture A, there is a purple color border appears on picture A indicating the link has been visited.
    I've created a CSS rule a
set border to "none", also tried setting border-width to "0", both didn't work.
How can I make the border go away? It seems only happen in IE(8) and not Firefox.
    Please help, thanks.
    Tony

I couldn't get a img { border: none; } to work. I didn’t know where to input this line. But base on your info I've created a new CSS rule, tag img and set border to none, and it works.
I was getting a little frustrated and you have saved the day.
    Thanks Bob,

  • Need to add a link to the masthead area of the Portal

    Hi
I need to add a link to the masthead area of the portal. That link needs to be able to print the content of the current page.
Ihave downloaded the com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead into the NWDS.
Can anybody please let me know where exactly to modify the code.
i am guessing i may need to use window.print() to print the page.
    Thanks
    Sharath
    Thanks
    Sharath

Step 1: Adding new link in the masthead
    1. Rename the par file to your own namespace and import the PAR using eclipse
    2. To add your link - modify HeaderiView.jsp appropriately
    3. Build the PAR and export using Eclipse
    Step 2: Create an iView
    1. Content Administrator -> Portal Content -> Select the folder in which you need to create the masthead iView. Right click on the selected folder and "Select New From PAR" -> iView
    2. Select the PAR file name created by you in Step 1 a
    3. Choose "default" in Portal Component Selection
    4. Provide the properties for the iView and save
    Step 3: Modify Portal Masthead
    1. Add the iView created in Step 2 to the Framework Page of your application
    2. Remove the existing Masthead iView from the framework page and add iView created in Step 2 in the framework page.
    3. Note that the position should be the same where the previous masthead is removed.
Logoff and logon with the user who is assigned the framework page - you should be able to see the new masthead with links
Incase you are changing the default framework page and default masthead ensure that you have a backup so that you can revert.
