Make-To-Order MRP for components with unstricted-use stock

Dear Experts,
There is a finished goods of material with standard planning strategy group "20" in the material master.
There is a component e.g. material A, under the BOM of the FG material.
There is already enough unrestricted stock for material A which has no special stock indicator assigned.
After creating the sales order,  I use MD50 to run the make-to-order MRP, but the result shows that there a purchase requisition has been generated for the material A with the sales order assigned and specail stock indicator = "E".
Is there any solution so that there will be no PR generated for mat A as there is enough unrestricted-use stock.
And in the production order of the FG, can the component only requires the unstricted-use stock instead of the "E" stock?
(It is ok for the FG goods receipt as "E" stock.)
Thanks a lot.

Hi Ram,
Thanks for your information.
I set the indi/coll = 2 and null for the strategy for the component material A
Just want to know, which strategy should I use for the finished goods?  And any other setting for the finished goods and the component?
And which transaction MD02 or MD50 for the planning run for the finished goods?
In such setting, after the planning run , PR will be generated for the net external procurement?
Actaully my situation is that I just keep own stock for components, I want MRP to consider the own stock instead of sales order stock before generating PR.
Thanks for your help again.

  • Restricting Sales Order Creation for Customers with specific AccountGroup

    Hi
We have 2 Accont Groups for Customers namely Actual & Prospective.
We wish to allow Enquiry / Quotation and Order creation for customers with Account Group ACTUAL and wish to allow only Enquiry and Quotation creation for customers with Account Group as Prospective. Is there anyway i can apply Sales Order creation block on an ACCOUNT GROUP on whole and not on Individual customers...
    Regards
    Sanjeev Bagaria

    Hello
I did this through Listing Inclusion / Exclusion.
    (1) We created a new Customer Group 99 for Prospective Customer
    (2) We then created a new Condition table xxx with Customer Group & Material Type(as footer)
    (3) We then created this new Access Sequence Customer Group / Material Type to Exclusion Procedure B00001
    (4) We then assign the Exclusion Type B00001 to Sales Documents ZDOM & ZEOR our Order Sales Documetn Types
    (5) And finally we created a record for Exclusion with 99 Customer Group and Material Type as FERT..
This now restricts creation of Sales Orders for all my Prospective Customers provided Customer Group is maintained in Customer Master. We are now also able to make Enquiry / Quotation and Sample Sales Order for Prospective Customers sicne we have Different Sales Document Types for all these and have assigned Exclusion only to normal Sales Order Document Type.
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions provided.

  • There was no way to order AppleCare for the iPhone 5 using the online AppleStore to have it activated automatically. Am I missing something?

There was no way to order AppleCare for the iPhone 5 using the online AppleStore to have it activated automatically. Am I missing something?

I must have missed the option to add AppleCare+ to my iPhone 5 pre-order, too.  Fortunately, I was able to obtain confirmation from an Apple representative that AppleCare+ can still be added to a new iPhone 5 within 30 days of the device's ship date.
    My iPhone 5 Ordering Situation:
Successfully submitted pre-order at 2:05am CST
Realized I did not add AppleCare+
Tried to add it as a separate product
Unable to add AppleCare+ after submiting pre-order
    This Morning:
I just got off the phone with an Apple representative.  He assured me that, once my iPhone 5 arrives on September 21, I will be able to: 1) call 1-800-MY-APPLE and have AppleCare+ added to my iPhone 5;  2) go into an Apple Retail Store and have AppleCare+ added to my iPhone 5.  He said I would have thirty days from my device's ship date (September 21) to add AppleCare+ to it.  He also recommended that, if I wanted to have AppleCare+ added at an Apple Retail Store, I should make an appointment as soon as possible.  Because I was still concerned something might go wrong, the Apple representative emailed me a copy of my case number to use as a reference in case I have any issues obtaining AppleCare+ on September 21.
    Caveats & More Information:
I ordered through the Apple Store app on my iPhone 4
I live in the United States
    My carrier is AT&T
I have a case number and repeated assurances from an Apple representative
While your situation may differ from mine I do hope you're able to add AppleCare+ to your iPhone 5 once it arrives, either by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE or by making an appointment at your nearest Apple Retail Store.
    Best Wishes,

  • How to run MRP for Bulk Material without using LTP

Hi, how can I run MRP for BULK material without using LTP.
    Thanks in advance
    BK

    Hi,
Use trasnsaction code OPPQ and goto BOM Explosion and selection depends on
    Field selected
No dependent requirements are created for informational purposes for bulk material items in the plant selected. This can improve system performance.
    Field not selected
Dependent requirements are created for bulk material items in the plant selected. These dependent requirements are displayed in the planned order for informational purposes only. They are not considered in the net requirements calculation; that is, they are not included in material requirements planning (MRP) and are not displayed in the stock/requirements list

    Hi Everyone,
    Material type := HAWA
My material procurement type = F i.e. External Procurement.
MRP Type = ND in Production server , and VB in Quality
    Lot Size = EX
Material Status :- 15 Pre-release both for Quality and production server
The Material is bulk material and bulk material indicator is set.
Purchasing View is also maintained for the same.
Planning Strat = Z5 Company specific
Special procurement key:- Z7 Company specific
I am running MD02 with following parameters.
    Create Pur Req =1, PR
Create MRP List = 1, MRP List
Delivery Schedule = 3, Schedule Lines
Planning Mode = 2 Re- Explode BOM & Routing
    Scheduling = 1
    Issue:
After MRP run, system is  generating PR, Though with MRP type ND purchase requisition should not be generated.
Observation:- Looks like there is inconsistency of material date in Quality and production server.
When I tried to run the planning , The Error message was generated"Material status is set to pre- release.
After changing the material status to 20 (Active ) , when we run the MRP , The error message is generated "Material is not planned automatically "

  • Uploading Production Requirements For Finished Goods From External System To Run MRP For Components in SAP.

    Hello Production Planning experts,
I'm looking to solve the current business problem:
The company bought a third party software (JD Edwards) to calculate production requirements instead of using SAP's standard Production Planning or a tool like SAP's APO. They run a batch job to query Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from sap and feed/upload it to the third party software so it can calculate the Finished Goods Production Requirements for them. They love the third party software, so replacing it is not an option. Since the third party software is already taking into account Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from SAP, it just outputs a "Finished Goods Production Schedule" by week.
    My questions are:
    1) What's the best way to upload something like that in SAP in the form of Planned Orders or something of that nature?
After i get that schedule in SAP:
    2) Is there any way to calculate components' requirements for that "Finished Goods Production Schedule" alone? The company would like to IGNORE existing stock AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc) for Finished Goods ONLY. The components calculations would work the standard MRP way, taking into account existing stock and AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc)
I started looking into Master Production Schedule (MPS), but I don't know if that's the right approach since I'm not very familiar with it.
Thanks in Advance! I will gladly reward points for helpful/correct answers.

    Hello Oscar
I suggest you to upload your production plan in the for of "Planned Independent Requirements" using BAPI BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE. Later, MRP will create planned orders to cover the PIRs.
If you don't want to consider the existing stock of the finished product, you should use the planning strategy 11 to create your PIRs. Take a look on the following link for more details about this planning strategy:
Gross Requirements Planning (11) - Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM) - SAP Library
Here you will find the following information:
The make-to-stock strategy gross requirements planning is particularly useful in mass production environments; it is often combined with repetitive manufacturing. This strategy is particularly useful if you need to produce, regardless of whether you have stock or not. For instance, steel or cement producers might want to use this strategy because they cannot shut down production; a blast furnace or a cement factory must continue to produce, even if this means having to produce to stock.
This strategy is also frequently used if there is a Material Requirements Planning system in a legacy system that needs to be linked to an SAP system which serves as a production execution system. The legacy system calculates a specific production plan, which has to be executed, regardless of the stock situation in the SAP system
It looks like this planning strategy is exactly what you are looking for.

  • Make to order - MRP

    Dear all,
MY Client doing Make to order production, finished material is assembly. all components are sent to subcontractor under 541 mvt type without reference. when the sale order came for assembly, we have to run MRP, at the time system not considering subcontracting stock ( components).
fert - material master - Mrp 2 view procurement type-F and spl procurement - 30
    components - Mrp 4 view - ind/coll requirement- 2
I want system has to consider subcontracting stock of components while MRP run????
    thanks in advance

    Dear,
Special stocks are not considered for MRP run. Subcontracting stock is a special stock (O), hence is not considered for MRP.
You need to define MRP area for vendor subcontracting. then run MRP for this MRP area it will work for you.
Please do refer this thread also,

  • Make-to-order: COPS for  KMAT materials (Non-valuated sales stock)

    Hello,
We are working with KMAT configurable material (i.e. non valuated sales order stock).
The client is requiring that inventory of these KMAT material should be shown in the financial accounting;however as we work with KMAT, this seems not possible.
    The whole process is:
    - taking of the sales order with the configuration
    - MRP and Production order Execution
    - Settlement of the PO to the sales order
    - Settlement of the Sales orden to a given account in FI (just like "stock for customer order") - inventory.
The problem we are facing now is how to make the compensation of this account once the product is delivered.
It seems the sales order's default settlement receiver is only the PSG. can we have to use the result analysis key to calculate the cost of sales, and which valuation method can we use if I only want to settle the actual cost that settled from the production order.
By the way, I have search for the notes:Note 26459  it seems we have to run the sales cost estimate first for the KMAT.
    Summary
    Symptom
It is not possible to perform results analysis on sales order items with materials of material type KMAT.
    Additional key words
    Transactions KKA3, KKAK
    Cause and prerequisites
In make-to-order production, the inventory and the cost of sales are not posted through goods movements because the materials are managed in a non-valuated sales order stock. The only way to create postings in FI is to use results analysis (see Note 26456). If the sales order item consists of a material of material type KMAT, results analysis is not possible because no cost estimate exists for this material.
    Solution
Results analysis must be performed with a valuation method that uses profit basis C. With this profit basis, the system uses the planned costs of the production orders for the sales order instead of a cost estimate for the KMAT material.
In Release 2.2 a modification is needed for this which is described in Note 25772. In Release 3.0 this function is provided as standard.
From 3.0C onwards the planned costs of the sales order can also be calculated in a product cost estimate for the sales order. You should use profit basis E in this case.
However, if you are using assembly processing with production orders, you can only use profit basis C.
Hope the scenario is clear. Perhaps you have a different approach to work with KMAT materials.

  • Sales Order MRP for material

    Dear all,
I am facing with some critical scenario ,we can share our views in this forum....
My Client is expecting one order...(He knows 101% he will get it ) so ,he will start to working on Procrument and production , it's a MTO order ...by that genuine order comes ....the expected order stock is 40% ready.
Now i need to stop the Expected order ,more over i need to transfer the stock to Expected to Genuine order...now againg i need to run the MRP for Genuine order.
Revert me back if you need more clarity.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    raj.

In that case, you generate the requirement via MD81 based on which, materials can be procured, produced and make ready for despatch.
Once the confirmed order is received, create a sale order for the entire quantity and during MRP run, system will consider the available stock and only for the remaining order quantity,  system will throw the requirement.
    thanks

  • Make to order returns & recovering components

We have some finished goods that are quite expensive.
When we get a return we may want to fix the problem and sell the unit again or we may want to recover some of the components and use them in a different unit.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for ideas on how to do this?
The units are produced in a make to order environment, so usually i suppose we would be recovering the common components and then re-use them in a different unit.
I'm hoping for a general idea or perhaps some documentation on this.
    Regards
    Simon

Create a Return sale order and do the PGR against the order.
If the material is Ok, Transfer the material to unrestricted or to other sale order
IF you want to recover the components:
Create a Production order for one of the component( of the finish material)
and assign the finish material in component  in component overview with + ve qty
If some other component also need to generate means maintain the particulat component as - ve qty
Maintain auto GI and Auto GR setting
while confirming, the finish material will consume in 261 movement
production order material receipt in 101
and other material receipt in 531
ONce the stock is updated youcan use or sale as per the business need

  • Make to Order Scenario for MM

    Hi All,
I like to know what are the Scenario for Make to Order Process in MM. Which as to be taken care for the business process in India. If listed out with the flow it will be of great help.
    sapuser

    Hai..
Make to order is a production planning strategy.
Make to order normally flows in the below mentioned path.
    1) Requirement of FG arises from Sales
    2) Sales order will be generated against requirement
    3) When MRP runs for the plant, by considering sales order, MRP element will be triggering PR / SA / Planned Order depending upon the settings in material master & other associated records.
    4) If planned order has got converted to PR, then subsequently PO can be converted from PR.
    5) After that you will be following normal procurement processes as you mentioned like,
Procurement of Stock Material, Procurement with Contract, etc..
    Hope it will helps you...
    Regards,
    Kumar

  • Make to order availability check scenario with production order

We have a make-to order scenario where we build custom products for our customers.
In SAP, we specify a strategy group so a production order is automatically generated when an sales order item is entered. However, we sometimes create a small amount of stock, in anticipation of an order. I would like the system to first check available stock in the system, beofre proposing a production order.
Is something like thi spossible thru configuration of the strategy group, or perhaps another method?
    Regards
    Ken

    Hi,
In SPRO->Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements->Availability Check->Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning->Carry Out Control For Availability Check
Select the Availability check and the Checking rule  combination of intrest and if you select the details, here you define that stocks that are to be considered during availability check.

I have a SWF file in my Dreamweaver site, that plays correctly. The problem is that the stage is white and we would like it to be transparent. Searching the archives the following advice was given:

Yes, change this to "transparent" in ALL the places where wmode is shown
    <param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
Second, be sure that there is in fact nothing covering the entire stage, like a big white rectangle.
Also, what is directly behind the .swf once it's on the Web page? If the background color of that page or the <div> that the .swf is in is white..... well then then .swf can have a transparent background but then the white from the Web page just shows thru.... so there's still a white background.
Be sure there is a non-white background on the Web page...
Window Mode (wmode) - What's It For?
    There are three window modes.
    Window
    Opaque
    Transparent
By default, the Flash Player gets its own hWnd in Windows. This means that the Flash movie actually exists in a display instance within Windows that lives above the core browser display window. So though it appears to be in the browser window, technically, it isn't. It is most efficient for Flash to draw this way and this is the fastest, most efficient rendering mode. However, it is drawing independently of the browser's HTML rendering surface. This is why this default mode (which is equivalent to wmode="window") doesn't allow proper compositing with DHTML layers. This is why your JavaScripted drop-down menus will drop behind your Flash movie.
In windowless modes (like opaque), Flash Player doesn't have a hWnd. This means that the browser tells the Flash Player when and where to draw onto the browser's own rendering surface. The Flash movie is no longer being rendered on a higher level if you will. It's right there in the page with the rest of the page elements. The Flash buffer is simply drawn into whatever rectangle the browser says, with any Flash stage space not occupied by objects receiving the movie's background color.
