Making 1 video out of 2

Hi,
I hope this is the proper forum.
I have a movie that is 10 minutes long, but I only need the
1st minute and starting at 3.50 till 4.05 minutes.
I have imported and defined 2 videos, one for the 1st minute,
and the second one for the second portion.
But now I don't know how to combine the 2 videos into one. I
thought I could do it with the timeline but I can't quite get it to
work.
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks, I haven't looked yet in Air, guess this is my chance.
So what I want to do can't be done directly in Flash ?
I'll try to download and install

I am making a video out of still images.  I would like to start zoomed in on a certain image and have the video show the image as it zooms out.  I would like the speed of the zoom to be the same from start to finish.  How can i achieve this?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Sounds like Ken Burns in the Crop function is exactly what you're looking for.

  • Audio and video out of sync after making subclip

I split into subclips about one hour of video. when I play the subclips back in the viewer the audio is at the beginning and the video is at the very end with alot of black space in between. when i watch the original one hour clip in the viewer it's perfect.

I captured a whole tape via "capture now" then went back and viewed it using markers to select scenes for my subclips. The played back tape is fine but after making subclips out of my markers the audio is at the very beginning of the clip and has a timecode of 00:00:00;00 (black screen in viewer), then a few minutes of black screen with nothing, then my video with the proper timecode as shown in browser and elsewhere. Each clip has a audio timecode of 00:00:00;00 and the video has the correct timecode. I can unlink them in the timeline and sync them but this is way too much work plus it doesn't really sync them anywhere but in the timeline and canvas. In the viewer I get the little editing ques and boxes that show where video and audio are, you know the little frame in/frame out "L"'s and they read exactly what I'm getting.ie. audio at 00:00:00;00 and video elsewhere.

  • Video out from ABC app to my TV

I have ABC's app that allows me to watch their shows. It works fine on the iPad, but when I connect an Apple Composite AV cable to my TV all I get is sound. No video. I have my iPad set to video NTSC but I don't get it on my TV. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
    donald

Only a few apps right now support the Video Out function... the developer is tasked with making their apps compatible with this...over time more and more will I assume... For now only a few native apps are like the Movies in iPod section or the Keynote App (strangely Pages and Numbers are NOT supporting video out currently)

  • Video out to monitor acting goofey!

    Hi
I have the Canopus ADVC-100. FW from MBP and FCE to the ADVC, composit to my TV monitor. Went to Video Out-Refresh Video devices, then checked the NTSC.
Yesterday it was working perfectly. Today the video shows on the monitor but when I hit the JKL keys, the video doesn't move. Just sits there until I hit the K (stop), then the picture jumps to where the timline playhead is.
A week ago it worked perfectly, then this freezing started again. 1 day good, 2 days later bad! I'm at my wit's end.
This really all started when I had my external LaCie HD in the FW800 port and the Monitor in the FW400 port. My eSATA cable and PciE card kept unplugging from the MBP so that's when I put the LaCie into the FW800 port.
Then I noticed that when 2 items were plugged into both of the FW (400/800) ports the FW 400 wouldn't work. Could it be a problem with the controller card in the laptop? That's when I put the LaCie back onto the eSATA, and that's when the monitor strted working right again. But now it's back to it's old tricks
I don't know what else to do and I need that monitor. I tested the Canopus box by plugging it back into my HP and running video out from Vegas. It works fine.
Anything else I can do here?
    Allen

    Hi Martin
Thank you very much. What good is it if you have a FW400 and FW800 and you can only use 1 at a time? That sort of negates even using a FW hub if there is such a thing. Or possibly daisy chaining HD's? Is the Mac Pro any different from the MBP? I have 2 FW HD's and need to transfer files between them. My LaCie and a small portable HD. How's that gonna happen if I can't use both FW ports? Yes, right now I got the LaCie on the eSATA port though but let's assume I need to use both the FW ports! My God! Even my PC's don't work this way. And I want to switch to all MAC's? Hmmmm.
Secondly, after I posted the original message, I happened to re-size my canvas window by making the browser and viewer smaller and as soon as I resized the window the darn thing started workiing! I don't believe this. I'm not shutting anything down tonight! H9nestly! I didn't do anything else except resizing the Canvas window!
As far as your instructions, I believe I mentioned above that the MBP does see the ADVC. There was a frozen still on the TV monitor. It just didn't move until I stopped the timline from playing. Then the TV picture jumped to where the playhead was. I wasn't getting video, just stills.
Now it's working so I'm wondering if there isn't something not right with my MBP? I have the extended Apple Care but I need to get this project done. Another bit of info is that the timeline contains 11 hours of video! But the LaCie on the eSATA seems to be keeping up. All the video files are on the LaCie scratch disk. In other words I can play the timeline just fine. Now we started creating separate sequences for different parts of the video for ease in editing the sections.
Well, tha's all the info I can give you. this is really wierd!

  • K1 - HDMI video out issue

    Hello,
    First post to this forum.
I bought my K1 end of November.  I purchased two micro-HDMI cables, and not seeing video out.  Briefly saw the picture on screen once or twice, but nothing consistent.  Have plugged my K1 into 4 or 5 different HDMI-enabled monitors/TVs, no luck.  The cable doesn't seem to sit very securely in the hdmi port.  These are definitely micro HDMI cables I purchased from two different sources (not mini-HDMI).  They may only have been HDMI 1.3 version cables, but I think they should have worked.
Sent my K1 in for Lenovo service and came back this week. Everything with HDMI checked out according to Lenovo support.  I actually just ordered two more "high speed" 3 ft cables from monoprice hoping this solves the issue (version 1.4).  I should have the two new cables next week
Has anyone else had issues with HDMI video out?  I would like to know from others if the HDMI worked well for them.  Don't know what to expect.
    Thanks!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

My Micro HDMI to HDMI cable works fine with my K1.  I have to watch that my micro HDMI plug is fully into the K1's socket, because my case sometimes is too close to the socket and the plug touches my case preventing the plug to fit all the way into the socket and making connection.  Like the case.   It's a MoKo from Amazon.com for $20.

  • TV Video Out is Dark?

Anyone experiencing an issue where the iPhone TV out video come out very dark on the TV?
Before update 1.1.3 I was able to connect my iPhone to my TV and watch video with no problems. Since update 1.1.3, the video out from my iPhone to my TV comes out very dark.
I don't think it's an issue with the video file because it looks fine just playing on the iPhone. Also, if I play the same video from my NANO to my TV...the video comes out fine.
Tried restoring iPhone and now just tried update 1.1.4...still the same issue.
Just wondering if it's my iPhone or the software update causing the issue.

    Hi ieusu.
I have the same issue with my iPhone. It has been the same since I bought it (1.1.3) and after the recent update (1.1.4). I use MPEG Streamclip to encode TV shows recorded on my PVR and then sync them to the iPhone. They are always significantly darker with lower contrast than the original recording when viewed via TV out from the iPhone. But they are fine when viewed on either the iPhone screen, my Powerbook screen or its TV out.
I took my iPhone to my local Apple Store Genius Bar. They really had not got a clue. They reluctantly wheeled out a cheap LCD TV so I could demonstrate but the picture was so bad and blocky it was a pointless exercise. The guy dealing with me was not interested and was making me feel that I was making a fuss over nothing. He ended the session by basically saying what did I expect from a phone and that you can't expect it to be as good as a dedicated player.
My point to him was that I have to encode with severe adjustments in MPEG Streamclip in order to compensate for the poor output. In doing so I render the encoded files useless for other devices because they are too bright and contrasty. Therefore how am I supposed to build up a library of MP4s that I can play on the iPhone, Apple TV etc if I have to do a dedicated (very time consuming) encode for each device. Surely this goes against Apple's "it just works" ethos . He shrugged and still failed to see my point.
I took the various sample encodes with me on disk but was told there was no other iPhone available to run a comparison! What we did check was the cable. My iPhone TV out cable is a composite cable and the picture on their TV was the same when mine was replaced with alternative composite and component cables. So it's safe to say the cable is not at fault.
By the way, to improve the picture for TV out, I set the adjustments in MPEG Streamclip to +40 Brightness and +140% Contrast. It actually needs more but that setting is the limit that allows me to alternatively view on the iPhone screen (with the brightness turned way down!).
As this thread is the first I have found regarding this issue (and by the positive reviews of iPhone TV out I have read) I am pretty sure that you and I have faulty handsets. When I have more time I am going to go back to Apple with this and try to get them to take it more seriously.
Report back if you get any further resolution to the issue.
    Good luck.

  • Audio and video out of sync on short recordings

I've scanned the discussions and see that alot of posters are experiencing
the same problem I'm having which is recording quicktime movies
and getting audio and video out of sync.
In most of those posts the responses seem to be that the problem gets
bad if you're making a long recording. I'm experiencing that, but...
...I'm also having the same problem on really short recordings...less than a
minute. I've coming video and audio out of my cable box, into a SONY DSR-11 VCR, then firewire out of the deck into the computer, recording the movies with Quicktime 7.1.6.
I know it's coming out of the cable box and then out of the SONY deck via firewire in sync because when I log and capture through Final Cut Pro, audio and video are in sync in preview and playback. I don't want to use Final Cut Pro to capture the movies because I want to end up with MPEG4, and I'd have to go through an extra conversion process out of FCP.
Any thoughts on why even short recordings through Quicktime are out of sync?
    Thanks.

I'm having similar problems transferring VHS video to Quicktime. Another problem I'm having is when I transfer a VHS video to iMovie and then export the video to H.264 format, I have similar sync problems, even though the iMovie seems perfectly in sync.
I'm going to try to transfer several alternative video formats (video from my cable DVR, Video from live TV, and video from a digital mini cassette to try and figure out whether the VHS format is the culprit. Will keep you posted.

  • Feedback on dark colours when I share video out

When I share my video out to either iTunes or my desktop there is some feedback or a grainy looking contrast on some of the lower light or darker colours in the movie. It does not matter what size or how I export it out, the feedback still appears. Does anyone know how to fix this.
I was running a MacBook Pro with lion on it.
    Thanks
    Tricia

    .. ahhh,  those .. !
    technical term: compression artefacts.
you've probably have heard of the process of compressing data - making a 2h movie fit onto a single disk, 10k songs into your pocket, thousands of pics on a tiny SDcard. ...-
that's a lossy process; and: it multiplies its errors. Trying to compress a video (=on export from within iMovie), which was already compressed (=in your camera/phone), results in this disturbing 'blocks'.
little to do to avoid it :
    a) use highest recording/export quality optional (=large files, please)
    b) avoid lossy 'inbetween steps' such as from cam>>via mail >>onto DVD >> into Mac >> thru a 3rd party converter >> into iMovie_
always straight from recording device into iMovie/iPhoto
    c) the recording situation is ... sub-optimal. TWO boys in the backseats .. very high contrasts, sunny outside, dark inside = super high dynamic range! consumer devices can cover max. 4-6 f-stops, means: no details in the shadows OR no detail in the window
final verdict of the German jury:
you have to live with it ...

  • I want to zoom while making video with iPad

I want to zoom while making video with ipad

I apologies. I was under the assumption that others reading my question would think if I was talking about iMovie I have it on my iPad and I never clarified thank you for pointing that out. I do have iMovie and had iMovie the whole time in my attempts including the one where I looked through iTunes in my PC while my iPad was hooked up via USB , was in my iPads apps looking at the list and iMovie was not one of the listed. But even if it was how is this going to help me?

  • Video out from iPhone 3GS to TV.

Can I use the standard (3 phono plugs on the end) video out lead I already have to view keynote presentations from my iPhone 3GS on my TV/Projector?

    Same problem here.
I can't get any video out of my faithful iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.xx.
I have been browsing Apple discussions for solutions and most of them seem to point out to a faulty Video Composite cable. This is not my case.
I can rule that out 100%.
Old iPhone 3G running ios 3.1.2 works just fine as well as does iPhone 4, with the same cable.
I have tried with a friend's TV and cable and iPhone 3GS and we have identical issues.
(different cables and phones, same issue).
Please note all testing has been done with genuine Apple Video composite cables.
So this points out clearly to a iphone iOS issue combined with hardware.
It appears that starting from iOS > 5.0 video output has been disabled on earlier iPhone models prior to 4.
It would be nice if Apple could issue a Knowledge Base document on the issue as that would save many people further testing and waste of time.
This document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4108? isn't really complete enough as it stops at iphone 4.
Has anybody the ultimate answer on this issue?
    Are there any known work-arounds?
    Thanks and regards
    Pieter

  • Mini-Dvi to Video out from Final Cut Pro working

Thanx Everybody for posting reply for my post regarding running video out to external TV from Final Cut Pro in MacBook.
    It's working fine.

@ Studio X : The files were originally created with Final Cut Pro, rendered out to QuickTime, then are being played back with Final Cut Pro. The file that has the most noticable studdering is a 60-minute timeline sequence in Final Cut. All files are being stored and played back from the Mac Mini's internal hard drive. Everything was originally shot on DV and formatted for a 4:3 aspect ratio.
@ Shane Ross : Are there any settings in the MacOS or FCP where I can improve the HDMI video signal? Or do you know of / have any experience with Firewire to HDMI converters? Unfortunately, my new signal path relies on HDMI from the video playback.
My current setup uses the Firewire output, which is then converted to composite video & analog audio using a pair of ageing DV tape decks. That setup is becoming troublesome due to age.

  • MSI GeForce 3 Ti200 video out freezes

    Hi!
I was testing the composite video and s-video out connectors. In my properties for the GeForce card i can choose between s-video and composite video, but they aren't automatically discovered as connected when pressing that button.
However when i press apply after choosing composite video, my monitor goes black, but i get no signal to my TV. My computer totally stops responding not even ctrl+alt+del will help. I have to press the reset button.
I downloaded TV-tool which i saw someone mentioned in this forum. It works flawlessly using TV tool using composite video(it takes sometime to switch between the monitor and tv but it works).
So as i understand it MSI's drivers or tool for switching between Monitor/video is broken. I have downloaded the latest drivers and tolls with MSI Live update 3, but it still doesn't work.
I'll be damned if i have to purchase a third party product for something that should work out of the box. I mailed MSI support about this and was directed to this forum, so i wonder if anybody else has this problem and found another solution than TV-tool?
I'm running Windows XP with the latest drivers.
    Mats

Judging from the problems I and several other people on the forum have mentioned, there seems to be a problem with the nVidia 45.23 drivers and video. I get a grey screen with vids unless i turn down the hardware accel to almost nothing. Other people can get vid to show on their tv out. So if you havn't tried an older driver version yet, maybe you could use the good old xp driver rollback in the video device properties.

  • What is the difference between Video-out and mirroring?

What is the difference between Video-out and mirroring? I can't get iPhone 4 video to work on my TV screen
I have just bought an MD098ZM/A (Apple 30-pin Digital AV Adapter). I am struggling to get it to show a picture on my TV. I know I'm doing something right because the audio is coming out of my TV speakers but no picture on the TV screen.
I have used the same HDMI channel (on the TV side) with the same cable and my thunderbolt port (MacBook Air) without any trouble - and on the same app (BBC iPlayer download then full-screen mode).
Now I note that the packaging for the MD098ZM/A says video-out on iPhone 4 but mirroring only on iPhone 4S. I only have an iPhone 4 (not the 4S). Now if the lack of iPhone 4 support for mirroring means that I can't play video material out to my TV, then in what sense is there any video-out capability at all?
There is only safety and warranty paperwork in the Apple adapter packaging - no help information. And I haven't found further guidance online either.
I do note somewhere online that it suggests that basic non-mirroring video-out (for this adapter) only works with some external TV sets. Any way of finding out which? I'm using a Sanyo CE32LD90-B LCD TV if it helps.
So far not doing very well.

Now found these but have had to give up on this adapter!

  • Satellite 1800-100: video-out does not work

    He,
I just installed windows XP on my old Satellite 1800-100, but now my video-out does not work anymore. So I just downloaded the latest driver, but there's no way I can get it installed. According to Windows the new driver isn't newer, so it won't let me update it. And when i try to unistall the display driver, I have to reboot before it takes effect, and wile rebooting it automaticly installs the standard driver again.
    Can anybody help me?
    Greets,
    Daan

    Hi
Do you mean TV- out port or monitor port? As far as I know this unit is preinstalled with WXP Home and all drivers can be also used for WXP Pro.
Did you preinstall your own OS (non recovery image)?
