Making 1000 pages with 1000 photos???

Greetings
OK, it probably isn't 1000, but a whole bunch.
The Setup: See, I'm making a website for a friend who is a painter. He has many paintings, which are divided into different galleries on the site. In each gallery (landscape, figure, non-objective, etc...) there are thumbnails for each painting arranged in a grid. Each thumbnail will open a new window with the painting and a bit of info.
The Questions: What is the fastest and best way to create all these pages? I will need to Ps all of them to optimize and get some relative sizing, but almost none of them will have the same exact measurements. Perhaps Ps can do it instead of Dw?
I realize I can just create a basic template, and then will have to change the info for each, but I'm just wanting some speed tips if anyone has ever done something so ridiculously manotonous.
Please help.
Thanks.

I realize that... but the customer is always right.
I showed him several other things, but this is the way he wanted it.  He wants people to be able to view and compare different painting at the same time.
I wonder if there is an easy way to make one page, but somehow pull the image and info dynamically? And then if they click another image it will open another window? Anyone do anything like that?

  • Can I fill a page with a photo?

I would like to design a page with a photo covering all the space, but when I increase the size, it´s limited to a maximum that doesn´t fill all the page.
    How can I do it?
    Regards.
    Guillermo

You can put your photo in the browser background.
Start with a blank page using either "Black" or "White" template.
Go to the "Page" inspector "Layout" window, select "image fill", choose your image and select "Tile" if necessary or adjust your image size before loading into iWeb.
From the "Page Background" menu select "Color fill" and, in the color window, reduce the opacity to zero.

  • Will Photoshop Elements 12 Allow me to Format a Page with a Photo in a certain spot on the page?

Hello, I am a new user and wondering if I bought the wrong software.  I bought Photoshop Elements 12.  I am trying to set up a page that is 8 1/2" by 11" with a 6" by 6" photo near the top with 1 1/4" blank/white page at the top, left, right and the rest of the page below the photo also blank/white.  I cannot figure out how to get the photo where I want on the page.  I am needing to get the page "print ready" to take to a print shop, and just cannot figure it out.  I was able to set it up exactly as I want in Open Office software in less than 5 minutes, having never used the Open Office Software before.  However, the printer says he cannot print from Open Office, wants it thru Photoshop.  He knows I have Elements.  Considering how intuitively I was able to do it in Open Office and how I have struggled with setting up the page in Elements 12 for several hours, I am wanting to see first if it is possible to use this program to do what I want and if so, will somebody please explain the steps to me!  Or tell me if I bought the wrong software and need to give up the struggle!  I really would appreciate any time and advice anyone is willing to provide.
    Thanks...Questioning

    Hello again.
I am quite new to the program myself but over the last few weeks editing one particular image I have found that this program will do practically anything I want.  I just persevere through each frustration and eventually figure it out.  I just wish it were easier to remember what I did to get the result...oh wait, there is a way for that too lol.
I believe you will find it best to have your image on its own layer.
As for the rulers,  check to see if it is turned on, I believe that choice would be under the tab at the top labeled VIEW?  Not in front of puter right now so not sure exactly.
Also, you might want to check your settings for many of this type of feature in the PREFERENCES area.
Please let us know your progress.  Good luck!

  • Possibilities of making it compatible with ipod photo?

My suggestion to people of Apple, is that you should prepare an update to make the FM radio remote work with other versions of ipod. I can not see any reason against that.
If they are trying to sell new ipods, they could get the opposite, because ipod users could migrate to other brands instead.

  • Making a calendar with my photos?

Is there a way to make and order a Photo Book or Calendar from within Aperture or do I have to send my images over to iPhoto and do it there?
    thanks!

You can not make Calendars using templates in Aperture. If you use Aperture, and have iPhoto, it should be easy to use Aperture images in iPhoto to make an iPhoto calendar.

  • Clicked buy book.  Says two photo boxes need photos but there are photos.     Tried replacing with other photos. No luck.  Help? in them.  I tried to replace with other photos

Finished photo book. Clicked buy book.  It said two boxed needed photos although already filled.  Tried to replace with other photos no luck. Help!

What iPhoto version and theme are you using? Do you have any full page photos in the book? If so make sure the layout is not this one for a one photo per page with a photo background:
So check the layout for the pages to see if you have one that requires a photo for the page background.  The screenshot above is for iPhoto 9.

  • Is there still a 1000 photo cap on iPhone My Photo Stream as described in HT4486 with the new HT4858?

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486?
How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.
I am seeing my iPhone's My Photo Stream still keeping the 1000 photo limit. As I took new pictures, the old ones are deleted to make room for the newly uploaded photos.
The new announcement says there is no limit any more:

  • 1000+ photo slideshow

I am creating a slideshow in iMovie6 that contains over 1000 photos that have been dragged in from iPhoto. I am getting a little nervous hearing all the problems with picture quality and KB effect ON vs OFF. I am a little confused as to how I should do this to avoid future problems. It is obviously a huge projects I have taken on with a lot of work ahead of me.
Can anyone help to save me some future headaches before I get to deep in this one. It is going to be a gift for a family member that i have been asked to do. I already spent two weeks scanning and correcting all of these photos.
The plan so far has been to pull them all in with the KB effect NOT checked. and then to go back and apply the KB effect to various pictures throughout the project to bring some life to it. Then I want to add all of the transitions at once. Then I will have an hour and a half of music to add.
What problems do you forsee with iMovie6?
    iMacG5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

There are two image-related issues (bugs) you want to avoid:
    • iMOVIE WILL ADD JAGGIES TO UNRENDERED IMAGES
When you choose Share > iDVD to send the project to iDVD, don't let iMovie render any UNrendered images, those images imported with the Ken Burns checkbox OFF. iMovie will ask permission to render those clips. If you grant permission, iMovie will add "the jaggies" to those clips. These jagged lines are most noticeable along hard edges with strong contrast. A roof line against the sky. A power line. A fence.
Once iMovie has added the jaggies, there's no way to repair those clip(s). They must be replaced.
To avoid this bug, do ANY of these:
    1. Turn ON the Ken Burns checkbox when importing images. Then Ken Burns renders the photos into video and iMovie won't ask later. (If iMovie asks later, it's asking to render OTHER stuff.)
    2. When iMovie asks permission to render, do NOT grant permission. Let iDVD render the images.
    3. Drag the iMovie project into the iDVD window instead of sending the project to iDVD from iMovie. Then iMovie doesn't have the chance to render them.
    • FAILURE TO UPDATE KB-RENDERED CLIPS
After importing an image with the Ken Burns checkbox ON — so the image is rendered — emptying the trash will cause a failure to update that clip later. When you empty the trash, iMovie inappropriately discards the source image it had stored in the Media folder of the project, making it impossible for you to Update the rendered image later. If you try, the update either fails or iMovie renders a black clip.
There are three workarounds for this bug. Each allows you to empty the iMovie trash later.
    1. After rendering the KB clip, iMovie immediately moves its source image to the trash. Open the trash window and drag that image to the Clips pane.
    2. Import the image twice, once with the KB checkbox ON and once with it OFF. Move the OFF version to the Clips pane for safekeeping. iMovie will use THAT image to update the rendered clip later.
    3. Import the image with the KB checkbox OFF. Option-drag that clip to the Clips pane, which copies it to there. Click on the timeline clip, turn ON the checkbox in the Photo Settings window, and Update.

  • My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1.1) only lets me take 50 photos before it fills up. My Photo Stream album has 1000 photos in it. Is that preventing me taking more photos?

The iCloud FAQ seems to say iCloud does NOT automatically physically download and store all its photos back on all your devices, yet I'm sure the reason I can't take very many photos is because iCloud is doing just that....sending photos I already deleted from the phone's (non-photo-stream) standard photo library back to the phone and thereby filling up my phone's hard drive. I thought PhotoStream and iCloud held your photos in the "cloud" so you could view them THERE; but it looks like when the "cloud" is "full", the phone is full too (the FAQ says photos don't affect the 5GB free storage on the cloud, yet it sure seems the "cloud" affects the storage on my phone).
Is there a way to tell iCloud to NOT use my phone as it's hard drive?
I like the concept of having every photo automatically uploaded to the "cloud"...but shouldn't I be able to take more pictures when the "cloud" is "full" with 1000 photos?
If I delete the photos from my photo stream album, it says all the photos will be deleted from everywhere, including the "cloud". And, the only way to save them is to manually save them to the phone (they're already there....as described above) or manually save them to iPhoto (my Mac is an older MacMini that can't use any OS above 10.6.8, so iCloud isn't available to my desktop Mac).
Here are the options as I see them:
    1. Turn off PhotoStream and give up on using the "cloud" or "iCloud" entirely. Make sure to back up those photos I want to keep regularly in iPhoto when I back up my phone. (I had this naive idea iCloud was intended to simplify this....)
    2. Manually go through the 1000 photos that are apparently now back on my phone in the "Photostream album" and decide, viewing them ON the tiny phone screen, which ones should be manually deleted and which to keep, hoping that frees up enough space on the phone to be able to use the camera.
    3. Just delete the entire photostream album, and therefore all the photos on my iPad and in iCloud, and accept that I didn't really want them anyway?
Is there any other option? Do I have to choose between PhotoStream and storage space on my phone, if I want to use the phone's camera after "1000 photos" reside in iCloud? The way it seems to be going, I will ALWAYS be fighting for storage on my phone as long as iCloud is "on"...no sooner than I delete photos from Photostream, every new photo will just be downloaded BACK to the phone anyway.
I'm almost at my wit's end.....is iCloud/PhotoStream ALL OR NOTHING?

Please disregard this question. I'll submit a shorter and more direct question. Thanks.

  • I have 1000 photos on my iPhone in Photo Stream... all have already been added to iPhoto.  If I delete the photos in Photo Stream on my iPhone will I lose them on iPhoto??

I have 1000 photos on my iPhone in Photo Stream... all have already been added to iPhoto.  If I delete the photos in Photo Stream on my iPhone will I lose them on iPhoto??

Its the first time ive used iphoto, hence the vast number of photos i needed to import. I was importing from my phone to my macbook iphoto, my son caught the usb connection during the time when iphoto was deleting from the phone, after it had apparently imported all of the photos but none of them are on iphoto and only 195 are still on my phone.
The problem is not deleting them but finding them all?
Sorry ive typed this in the wrong place now cant delete it - if anyone can help with my problem however i would appreciate it!

  • More than 1000 photos - iPhone naming bug???

I have more than 1000 pictures on my iPhone. When I tried to import them onto my Mac using iPhoto I realised that for some reason iPhone names the pictures incorrectly.
Instead of going from 0999 to 1000 Phone goes from 0999 back to 0000. It appends the file name with "_2".
    Is this a bug?
I keep all my iPhone pictures organised in a separate folder rather than use iPhoto.
This means that I have to rename all the new photos above 0999. Very annoying.

It doesn't make sense to provide 4 digits and then jump back to zero after using up three of them.
I don't see the problem in keeping 1000+ photos on the iPhone - however, I do back them up very regularly.

  • Bought a new phone, I had 1000 photos in photostream but only 50 hit my new phone

I upgraded to iphone5 yesterday, there were 1000 photos in photostream with regular back ups to icloud.  But I was only able to transfer 50 photos to my new phone?  When I log into icloud I don't see photos, I thought they were backed up to icloud, right?  What can I do to find my photos?
    Thank you,

Photo stream photos are only saved in iCloud for 30 days, but if you have an iCloud backup it will contain the photo and videos in the camera roll at the time of the backup.  Restoring the backup to your new phone should recover them.
To restore an iCloud backup, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go through the setup screens on your phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup and follow the prompts.  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as you are restoring the backup.
Note: your new phone will need to be running the same or higher version of iOS as your old one in order to restore the backup.  (You can check by going to Settings>General>About>Version.)  If it isn't, you'll need to update it before atttempting to restore the backup.

  • 1000 photos in my stream, now what

I now have 1000 photos in my stream, some taken from my iphone, others from uploaded from Apeture and iPhoto. Now when I take a photo with my iphone it goes to the camera roll but not the photo stream. Photostream is supposed to be 1st in 1st out. Why wasn't the first photo that I put into the stream replaced with the new photo from my iphone?

    Hello there loulabelle78,
If you are seeing photos that belong to someone else showing up in your personal Photo Stream, you should reset your iCloud password:
    iCloud: Change your iCloud password
Go to the My Apple ID website (appleid.apple.com) and follow the instructions to reset your Apple ID password.
For more information, see the Apple Support article Apple ID: Changing your password.
After changing your iCloud password, make sure you update it on all your devices and in any email apps you use to get your iCloud email.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Go to Settings > iCloud, then tap your iCloud account.
On a Mac: Open iCloud preferences.
On a Windows computer: Open iCloud for Windows.
In your email apps: Check the help provided for the email apps you’re using.
If you set up iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, make sure to set up a passcode lock on your device for added security. (Go to Settings > Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode. If your device has iOS 5 or iOS 6, go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock.)
If you feel like your account may be compromised, I would recommend the taking a look at this info in the following article:

  • 1000 photos download overnight through Photo stream?

I woke up to my iPhone 5s having downloaded 1000 photos from photo stream with no apparent reason for a change in my photo stream to cause that many old photos to upload. I logged into my Mac mini and booted iPhoto and the same 1000 photos, all were duplicates, began downloading as well. Anyone have an idea why I had this massive download out of nowhere?

    Hi Robh5791,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
My Photo Stream saves the last 1000 photos taken and pushes them to all of your devices on the same Apple ID that have My Photo Stream turned on.
    iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ

How many photos are stored in My Photo Stream on my devices and computers?
iCloud pushes all your photos to the My Photo Stream album on your devices and computers, and manages them efficiently, so you don’t run out of storage space.
Your iOS devices keep a rolling collection of your last 1000 photos in the My Photo Stream album. From there, you can browse your recent photos or move the ones you like to your Camera Roll or another album to keep them on your device forever.

  • I have 1000  photos in an iPhoto Library that won't import into Photos because it says the metadata can't be read.  Yet those JPG files open just fine in iPhoto, GraphicConverter, et al.  What gives?

It’s part of the basic install of OS X. So unless you deleted it then it’s there in your apps folder. If you have deleted it, it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. You will be able to extract the installation package using Pacifist.
Alternatively, if you’re using almost any camera +apart from a Canon+ then the camera card is visible on the desktop and you can drag the movie to the desktop using the Finder and import from there.
No matter what camera you use, if you pop the card from it into a USB Card Reader then it will be accessible via the Finder. Card Readers are inexpensive and all round a better idea.
    Why use a Card Reader?
Because it’s safer: Less risk of your images being lost if your camera shuts down during transfer.
Because it saves the battery on your camera
Because it saves wear and tear on your camera ports
    Because it’s almost always faster.
