Making a discussion web page

I need to know how to make a discussion web in Dreamweaver
Cs3. I bought Cs3 6 weeks ago and still trying to figure it all
out. I used FrontPage 2000 before switching to Dreamweaver Cs3. I
have a discussion web page on one of my sites but the host I use is
no longer going to support front page extensions. I'm changing all
my website over to Cs3 and I need to make the same discussion page
that I currently use.
I would appreciate any help.

All things are not possible on a the BB that possible on a PC. That is why it is a mobile device, and not a PC. Something just require a PC. The BlackBerry doesn't replace a PC totally.
I don't know of any web editing applications used on the BB. There could be, i might have missed it, but I really don't think so.

Making a blackberry web page for my business

Can I make a blackberry web page for my business off of my 8330 or do I have to use a desk top version of the internet to make a web page? I would really like it if all things that are capable on a desk top were allso capable on my 8330.If anyone knows if this is possible let me know.

Making an editable web page in iweb

Hopefully someone can help me out here.
What I am trying to do is make a web page with iweb that will basically be a
page that anyone can edit (type) in. It would need to be password protected. but basically an editable journal type page. If that isn't possible, does anyone know how to make a simple hmtl page that would do the same effect that i could load into my .mac account? thank you for your time.

I don't think what you want to do is possible on .Mac. Such things require php or other server side stuff which is not available there. But you can probably incorporate a forum hosted elsewhere into your .mac site. Search this forum for "forum".

Contribute not making draft of web page

Hiya.
I use Contribute 2 and have up till now had absolutely no
problems. However, now when i try to edit a page, a draft does not
come up but also no error message appears. This is only the case
with 2 (of 6) pages on my website. Does anyone have any idea why
this is happening? Or...as i am using such an old version of
Contribute should i bite the bullet and get an upgrade?!

Welcome to the forum.
You can animate stills in FCE to present a web page content, but many people use a screen recording application like snapzProX from ambrosia software. There are many other app to do this kind of work too.

How to create a web page

Could somebody explain me what exactly to do, making my own web page in java?
I mean,I know how to make a class and an applet. However, I don't know what should I have inside the class.

Web pages aren't realy made in Java. Web pages are designed in HTML. Java generally plays two roles, one is in Applets, which are Java programs that run inside web pages. The other is servers that handle dynamic web pages, especially forms and pages that display dynamically generated data displays.
You can write an HTML file and display it on your browser straight from a file, but there's not much point until you put it on a server for a larger audience. To see what HTML looks like, use "view source" on any web page.

CS2 crash making web pages

Whenever I launch the automated aspect for making web pages of photographs CS2 crashes. I have used this before using Tiger but with Leopard now it is a non performer. Any ideas

Firefox web pages often print with many extra spaces between letters, making the printout illegible and useless..

When I try to print e-mails in Thunderbird and web pages in Firefox, the individual letters usually print (either to my laser printer or to Acrobat Distiller) with many spaces between each letter, making the printout nearly illegible and useless. Any thoughts? And settings that would correct this? (I never had this problem before the last few months, using earlier versions of Firefox and Thunderbird.

about:config has many listings for each of my printers, but instead of starting with "print.print_printer" [naming the printer], most listings that name a printer start with "print_printer" or simply printer_[printer name]. I don't want to reset all the listings, not knowing beforehand if that would be advisable.

Refining my web page.... Making a movie into a thumbnail....

Hi,
I've got my web page up and running, but have decided it needs some improvements. I have one page that displays four movies I have edited, but I want them to appear as a thumbnails. The reason I want this is because when I go to this particular page it starts to buffer each movie (which takes a long time... even though the movies are under 10 megabytes). Is it possible to do this so that the end user has to click on the thumbnail before it will start to buffer? Or should I create a page for each movie and have Iweb make links?

Software for making web pages?

I'm sure this is probably posted in the wrong place so if someone will let me know where it should properly be posted, I'd gladly delete this and post somewhere else.
I plan on writing an ebook by September 1 (hopefully). Which means I will need to:
1. Create a webpage with some type of program for use with an iMac
2. Create pdf document that can be sold from the web in ebook form
3. Eventually I would like to add video and audio to the sales page (if that ever gets made, LOL. I'm a total non tech type person).
So, I don't know if I can use anything on my iMac to create the audio or video, or even what software I would purchase. I'm an educator so that means I could get some hefty discounts on some Adobe products but not sure which ones would be good to begin with for creating a web page (other than the one with iWeb).
While I certainly don't expect responses on all this, I guess my priority at this point would be numbers one and two.

P.S. Does anyone know if after you have not been on the forum for a while if you have to change your username, etc. to use the forum? For some reason or another I had to do that in order to get on even though I was logged in to my mac account.

Just a word on the PDF point: Acrobat Pro can do a great deal. If you need it, you need it. If you don't need it, though, use something else. I say this not just because Acrobat Pro is expensive, although it is, but because it is also a complete pain. In, of course, my opinion.
I have and use Acrobat Pro but I only use it when nothing else will do what I need. Otherwise, I use something else. Like I say, it depends on what you need.
At the simplest level, you can create a PDF by "printing to PDF" from pretty much any application on your Mac. This is likely not enough for your needs but it is worth bearing in mind if you are not already aware of it.
I've never created an ebook so I don't know what's involved and Acrobat Pro may be what you need. Just don't assume that because it can apparently "do it all" that it is the best choice for your needs. Even if expense is of no importance, that may not be the case.

is it possible to display a web page which was created with the WPC in an Iview?
Every guide I found explains how to make it available via Entry Point but I need it in an iView.

1. create a new iView with Portal Component as source
2. choose portal archive: com.sap.nw.wpc.runtime
3. choose default on next screen
4. Afterwards choose the category Web Page Composer in the Property Editor.
5. Insert the Path of the Web Page in the property : RID of Compound Document
(you can copy it by clicking on 'Copy Path' in the context menu of the web page)
example: /wpccontent/Sites/MyWebSite/Web Pages/MyWebPage
I translated it from german documentation. Hope, you understand it.
That's the way i did it too nad it worked for me.

If you increased the minimum font size then try a lower setting (default is none) as a too high value can cause issues like you described.

Issues making restricted Printers available via the IIS Web page in Windows 2008 R2

I've gone through the standard procedure of restricting access to printers by doing the following:
Remove the Everyone group from Access list on the Security Tab (which removes Print and Read Permissions)
Add my restricted AD group PRINT-RESTRICT to the Access List (which adds Print and Read Permissions)
However, once I've removed the Everyone group, those printers are no longer listed on the IIS webpage,

Users in the restricted group can actually add the printers and use them successfully by going to the Add Printer wizard on their PC, and searching for printers to add in the directory, however I really want one set of instructions for all people to
add and manage their printers, (and the web page is the simplest method)
I've tried adding the Everyone group back in with Read Permissions and not Print, however this doesn't fix things. I've also tried adding the PRINT-RESTRICT group into the Print Server object, but no change their either.
Can anyone help with the permission that controls visibility of the Printer in the IIS web page for Windows 2008 R2 ?

Good news, I did actually work out a solution.
Simply give the IUSR account Print access to the restricted use printer. (the printer that has the Everyone group removed)
Since this is the account that display the web page, as long as that account has access to the printers, the printers continue to be displayed for users to connect to. The solution still restricts the printer, as you need to be in a group or have print rights
for the user to actually Connect to the printer.

Creating a movie for a web page and making it continuously loop

Hi all! I have a client who wants me to create a slide show with 7 images at a specific size for his web page. He wants it to continuously loop. I don't know much about this. Where can I go to learn how? I can make the movie... but I'm not sure what to export it as... and what the settings should be to enable me to make it the correct size and so that it loops. Thank you!
I'm using iMovie '08 on my iMac.
PS: When I looked up online for help, all I found was how to make a movie loop on one's computer. Not on web pages.

.gif files are supported in all browsers and do not need any special "player". They are very limited in their support of colors and most Web pages rarely use them anymore.
QuickTime .mov files can be set to "loop" (as explained above). Much more colors (millions).
iMovie is the wrong tool to make your file (and it doesn't create .swf format).
QuickTime Player Pro is the tool you need. It can import an "image sequence", set the frame rate (up to ten seconds per frame) and save the file in the .mov container.

Web pages don't fill the screen completely and with the font settings on 16 or larger the links and letters/words overlay making it difficult to read.
