Making a lighter print in Photosmart 510a

Using Windows 7 with HP Photosmart 510a.
In my previous Photosmart B8550, I could adjust how light or dark I could make a print. There was a display of several colored pencils where I could adjust that.
I could not find it in the 510a Photosmart printer. The technician at HP just told me that it is done by adjusting and incresing or decreasing the volume of ink.
I had such an option on the B8550, but that was not where I adjusted how light or dark my print will be.
Is that option removed from this printer?

Thanks! I actually ended up doing that. But I have a client
who wants to have some pages of the site scroll down (like with an
html site) and I wonder if it's possible to make certain keframes
with a "larger stage"? or is there an easier way to make the page
really long that I'm just not getting? They just want to be able to
click the print button and all the text shows up.

For further assistance, I will need to know:
The version number of the Mac Operating System. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
If you make a copy, and lift the lid, do you see a light come on and the scanner bar move?

I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion and found out it was not compatible with my HP printer (HP photosmart C5580) so I called Apple and asked how to get Mountain Lion off and Snow Leopard back on. The Tech told me to

Then I found out it was not compatible with my HP Printer (HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one) so I called Apple support and the tech told me to erase the hard drive instead of going in the time machine. Well I did that and then it took about three hours three days a week for about three weeks on the phone with an apple tech to get all my stuff back on my computer. I have had trouble with my printer (won't do the scan anymore and wasn't printing on my DVDs. Also the computer keeps freezing up when it is in the sleep mode, etc.
When I tried to list my problem on this forum it lists your OS at the bottom and mine had Mountain Lion listed as what I was using so apparently it didn't erase it. Want to know how to get Mountain Lion off and put my Snow Leopard on so things start working right.

Go to the  menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X
Revert to Snow Leopard
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

If they were songs you purchased from itunes, try redownloading them from your purchases...
if that doednt work, make sure the optuon to copy files to itunes media folder is checked in settings, then find and download from the net. and re-add them to your library

I recently downloaded an album (a gift) from Amazon, one option of which is to download directly to my iTunes library (which is what I did). I also purchased a song from the iTunes store shortly after this. In both cases, the music shows up on my iPod touch in a lighter print than the other music on my iPod. When I select it nothing happens. I only plug into the computer a couple of times a month, but I perform all updates as are indicated and I synch my iPod. Note that when I have iTunes up on my computer, the music WILL play directly from the library, just not on the iPod. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would delete the songs and download them again, or plug it into iTunes to resync them back on.

I don't see your printer on the list of AirPrint capable printers: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356. If it isn't AirPrint capapble, the options are as follows:
HP may have an app in the App store that will allow your printer to have limited capabilities (not AirPrint).
One or more of the 3rd party printer apps in the Apps Store may work with your printer (again not AirPrint).
Download a 3rd party program to your PC/MAC that will allow you to use shared printers as if they were AirPrint capable. Your iPad will see the printer as an AirPrint cabable printer, but the PC/MAC the software is installed on must be up and running. A few such programs are Printopia, AirPrint Activator, FingerPrint by Collobos.

Color Management on a Photosmart 510a

I have the Color Munki color management system. It asks me to "disconnect" the color management in my Photosmart 510a.
Have NO clue as to where to do that. Is it by just changing the option to have the "software manage the colors?"

So what you're saying, which is not expressed very well in the very first post in the thread, is that for files saved WITH the sRGB profile, you'd like to see the same thing in Photoshop as you're seeing in a color-managed browser. What I can't fathom why you would want to save files with no embedded profile. Let's make that a separate discussion.
Going on the assumption above, and that you're using Windows 7, here's what you need to do:
1. Your monitor profile (i.e., the one created by your calibrator or which came with your monitor) should be your default profile in Windows. To check this, click the Start button, and type color management into the search box. When Color Management comes up, click it, and look in the Advanced tab.
2. Photoshop's color management should be enabled, and View - Proof Colors menu should be UNchecked. This means Photoshop will transform the RGB values in an image with a given image profile into the proper values for correct display on your monitor. This is your normal mode for editing.
3. Create your web image using the sRGB color profile as your working space.
4. Save it with the sRGB color profile embedded.
5. Display it in Firefox. It should look just the same as it did in Photoshop.
6. Capture the screen showing both images (Photoshop and Firefox) side by side.
7. Paste the captured image into a new document in Photoshop, and ASSIGN your monitor profile to it (because you grabbed it from your monitor). If you have the proper checkbox set in your color management settings, Photoshop will automatically ask you to make this choice when you're pasting the image. It should look just as it did when you captured it.
8. CONVERT the image to the sRGB color profile. You should not see the appearance of the image change.
9. Save this image to a file, complete with the sRGB color profile.
10. Post the image here.

Hp3525 Light print, all colors.Washed out look.

I was working on a light print issue on an hp3525. I tried pretty much everything. cleaned all contacts, tried different cartridges, cleaned the scanners,which are a pain to remove.
The problem turned out to be a bad connection on the dc controller, it has at least 5 ribbon cables and numerous other connections, I unplugged everything from the board and plugged it all back in, apparently oxides can build up ,most likely on the ribbon cables, I cleaned them with a pencil eraser to make them shine and that solved the problem.

Hi,
You need a wireless network for your printer to be able to "talk" with your laptop. Using wireless router (or access point) is the normal way. Please use the following manual (from page #5) to hook your printer to your home network:

HP Printer Driver Photosmart C4480 All-in-One printer

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro, Retina, 13 inch, Late 2013, 2.4 GZ Intel Core i5, 4Gb 1600 Mhz DDR3, 89.04 GB free of 120.11 GB
to OSX Yosemite (from Mavericks 10.9.5) . HP does not have a driver for my workhorse printer, HP Photosmart C4480 All-in-One. The HP website suggested I see if anyone could recommend a work around or reliable alternative download. Thanks in advance for your help.

This did not help. There was no change in the printing of any documents. I am using an HP Photosmart C4480 all in one printer. Every thing I print from any website when in Firefox as my browser prints this way. Thanks, Gene

The steps are quite the same, beside one different step during the dialog:
From Devices and Printers click the Add a Printer button, then select a Local Printer.
Keep the preseleted LPT port amd click on Next.
Select HP from the Manufacturer pane and then select the HP Deskjet 6940 Series from the Printers list.
Note: if the model is not listed, click the Windows Update button, allow it several minutes to complete and then it should be listed.
Finish the Wizard and confirm the changes.
Right click teh newly added 6940 and select Printer Porperties, open the ports tab and select the port with the otiginal printer model listed within the Printer column (e.g. HP Photosmart 7520), then click on OK.
Poster Printing should now be available within the Finishing tab (Under Pages per sheet and Posters) by using the HP Deskjet 6940 printer.
