Making a mix of three purchased songs

I need to make a mix of three songs that I purchased from Itunes. It is for a school activity.. I just need parts of each of the songs How do I do this I need help fast
Thanks
MeSha

MeSha, there are several ways to create the mix you want, but iTunes itself cannot edit audio, except to the extent that you could make a playlist of the 3 songs and set start and stop points for each one in the "options" tab of its info window. If it's more complicated than that, I think you should try to find someone at your school who can help you with this project. Don't be discouraged by having your service agreement bluntly quoted to you in response to your polite question.
Generally, although you haven't provided all the details, the use you intend is solidly within the bounds of legitimate fair use. However, the terms of service contract for the iTunes Store applies to the songs you want to use, whether they contain DRM or are iTunes Plus, because you purchased them from there. In many cases, such a contract can trump copyright law and therefore your fair use rights. It would be clearer, if, for example, the tracks were imported from CDs that you own.
Regardless, unless an official Apple source specifies otherwise, I think it's safe to say that the one-time use for a school activity of portions of 3 tracks purchased from the iTunes Store in no way resembles the type of infringement Apple is concerned about. Apple is a strongly pro-education company. Had they meant to clearly exclude your intended use, they would have been more specific. The phrase "personal, non-commercial home use" is common, for instance.
Good luck with your project.

Yes but there's no point doing it here. As the Terms of Use make quite clear this is a User to User forum. It's Users like you talking to other Users. It's not a channel to communicate with Apple.

I purchased some albums on my ipad that synced to my iphone. I'm now trying to download my purchases to my library stored on my PC, but I'm getting an error/warning message along the lines of:
"You can download past purchases for up to 90 days.....You cannot assign another apple id to this computer for the next 30 days".
Does anyone have any ideas? I did have to sign my wife out of itunes before i signed in to download my songs so i assuming its something to do with that.

When trying to download purchased songs on ITunes, it
gives an error message that the network connection
timed out. also gives this error message when I try
to download ITunes software. Can anyone help with
    this error? Thanks
I am having the same problem. (err = -3259) and it's not listed in any of the error codes in Apple Support. Weird. Why have an error code and no reference for it.
First it happened when I tried to download a movie and I kept "checking for purchases" - didn't work - checked all my ad filters, privacy filters, firewall settings - didn't work. Then I forgot for a day, went back and it worked. Now I have three episodes of a TV show that will not download and I am getting the same error message. This time it has been a few days though...Someone who knows - Please HELP!!

  • How can i remove all of the purchased songs from my phone?

I want to remove all of the purchased songs from my phone, but I'm not having any success.  I've transferred the purchases to iTunes, and turned off the cloud on my phone, but they are still there.  They will not let me delete them...

They go away until the next sync and then they return to the list.  They are shown in iTunes greyed out with a broken circle in the first column when manually viewing them.
It's an iPhone 5S, I'm running the latest OS, 8.1.
OK, maybe time to get extreme.  I've had similar experiences, sometimes occurring after making direct-to-device purchases and sometimes after doing an iOS update.  In the two times I've experienced what you've seen I've fixed it by digging deeper, bear with me:
If your iPhone is not set for manual management, do so. (i.e. select "Manually manage music and video")
While connected to iTunes, navigate the contents of the iPhone.  Select all songs and delete them.  Ignore the gray ones if still present.
Eject the iPhone and go to Settings/ General/ Usage/ Manage Storage.  Let the list populate then select the Music category.  In the next screen, swipe across "All Songs" from right to left and tap Delete.
Connect back to iTunes, perform a backup, then restore the iPhone and reload the backup.
Your iPhone should now have its settings, accounts, and apps back, but no music -- not even the "ghost" entries.  Add the music back that you want, either via manually dragging and dropping from iTunes, or auto-syncing all or a portion of your library.
Some people reported luck with just step #3.  The problem I've had with that, is any music that I want remaining on the iPhone gets corrupted, such that playback will skip and/or show the wrong artwork.  By deleting all music first, then following up with a restore, that seems to clear the problem.  Personally I avoid direct-to-device purchases since I've had spooky occurrences almost every time where the purchases are very difficult to remove.

  • ITunes re-downloading purchased songs problem

Hi all, now it's unlike me to post a problem as i'm normally pretty good at search the web for the anwser but I can't on this one and need a little help also I know i'm not alone on this problem.
Since yesterday evening I am unable to load my purchased songs on my iPhone 4 running iOS 6, If I go to iTunes > More > Purchased > Music > All Songs
all my songs will not load it just hangs loading, yet if I select just one artist I can download it fine but as I have over 800+ tracks thats not ideal.
Does anyone else running iOS 6 on iPhone 4 have the same problem? Three of my friends are having the same problem.
    Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same issue... But it even happens on some artist with a lot of music listed. It just stays stuck on the loading screen on my iPhone 5. I would like to download my music please!

  • I synced ipod to itunes (windows), it removed all my single purchased songs. I can see the songs in itunes, but they are gray

I synced ipod to itunes (windows), itunes removed all my single purchased songs from my iphone. I can see the songs in itunes, but they are gray and I can't move them back to my iphone or to any other device.  I can't play them on the computer in itunes, I can't move them back to my iphone (where original purchase was made), and I can't move them into another ipod.

I had the Itunes store do this to one song out of three I downloaded. I went back to the Itunes store and reclicked on the song to download it again. It ran the download again and got the complete song this second time. Then I just resynced with my Itunes and all is fixed.

  • Error 11111 "Could not purchase song. An unknown error occurred.

When I try to download songs from iTunes, I get a message saying "Could not purchase song "x". An unknown error occurred (11111). There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later. This has been going on for 2 months now. Help!

I had the same problem; however, only whenever I wanted to purchase a "complete set" or sets (ie: iTunes Essentials) that had like, 70+ songs... It just so happened that tonight I had one $74.25 set in my shopping basket (simply because I neglected to remove it!) and added three $.99 songs -- I was able to purchase the whole cart in one fail swoop by clicking on the button in the lower right hand corner that says "buy now". Hope this helps! K:)

  • Purchased songs disappear after new istall of windows

    Hi
I've got a problem with iTunes since I reinstalled windows on my system. When I open the iTunes store only 3 of all my purchased songs appear, the rest isn't listed there. My download history however is correct, but I can't listen to those songs nor can I load them on my ipod (except those 3 songs). How can I "get back" the missing songs?
    Thanks for helping

I just did a Windows re-install myself. Computer is lighting fast now! However, I experienced the same issue you describe. What I discoverd is that the "Purchased" folder is really just a playlist. All of your purchased songs should show up in the library as well.
I haven't figured out a way to add my purchased songs back to the purchased folder in bulk, but they can be added individually by drag/drop or right click/add to playlist. Because the purchased songs are mixed in with my ripped songs this is a pretty laborious process, but it works.
If you still only find the 3 songs in your library, I would suggest two other things. First right click on the purchased folder and select check for available downloads. This will ensure all of your purchased songs are on your hard drive. Second, make sure you have added the iTunes folder to your library. This is done by selecting File/Add Folder to Library. My iTunes folder is located in My Music so it came in when I added the My Music folder to my library.
    Hope this helps.

  • Does de-authorizing a computer for Home Sharing delete purchased songs?

We have three computers in our house. We have had two other computers, both of which were authorized for our Home Sharing account. We neglected to de-authorize these computers before getting rid of them, so the account now has 5 out of 5 machines authorized. My plan is this: De-authorize all, then re-authorize the three computers we still own. Would we still have access to all the purchased songs?

  • Nano skips every purchased song I transfer.

I just bought a Nano 4gb, I've been using Itunes for a couple years.
My problem is that EVERY purchased song I transfer to the Nano won't play. When I try to play an Itunes-purchased song, the Nano displays it for a second, then skips to the next song. This continues until it gets to a standard, unprotected MP3 file from my own collection (also transfered via Itunes). All of the purchased music plays fine within Itunes.
I've tried the 5-r's, reloading Itunes, Ipod updater, unregistering, ect.. No go.
    This is extremely frustrating. Help!!

Did you read my post near the top of the thread? I've also experienced this, as have others. Around Thanksgiving (late November for non US iPodders) there was some talk among our user group members. A small handful of us had experienced suddenly not being able to play our iTunes store music and then restoring the ability by simply syncing again. Most of us who had experienced it tended to keep the same playlists for a long time while those who frequently synced were in the minority. I don't know if anyone has actually confirmed that a particular cause of skipping is related to how much time has elapsed since the last sync but it does seem to be a recurring theme. Then again, the mind is a pattern making machine and makes them even when no actual pattern exists.
