Making a picture slideshow to watch on my dvd..need some help please =)
I'm trying to gather pictures and make a simple slideshow with just one menu. Where as I would put the the dvd in the dvd player, a menu will come up, I press play, and then the dvd slideshow starts to play. I'm only putting a few pictures that would fit with one song. I've tried so many times creating a new project and the Magic idvd option. Somehow I get lost when it comes to the Drop zones. It would say there are 2 menus. I've searched the internet and I can't seem to still understand! So confused!! I hope someone can give me some direction!! Thanks!!

Working on epic slideshow....really could use some help please
I have combed the manuals, discussion logs etc. but am yet to find a simple answer to my questions. Maybe there are none. My grandparents both passed away in the last month. I am not only archiving my pictures but creating a slideshow using final cut pro 5.1.4. The pictures I have scanned are huge... a total of 180 years of life, hundreds of pictures, all scanned at 600 dpi because some where 2x2. Even then some pictures are 4000 x2800 and 20mb. I have resized them down to about 5mb or so. I have seemed to get rid of flicker and lag associated with such huge file. Still I am having a problem exporting......
There are so many audio/video settings it hard to know where to go. This will be watched by 50 family members and friends, most with HD widescreen Televsisons. When I watch it on my computer it looks exactly how i want it to. When i burn it to iDVD it starts having lag issues when doing mild pans and zooms....the transitions.. fade in fade out, typically...or cross dissolve look "framey" and low quality. In the days of research I've done I can't seem to find proper settings (yes even the manual) on how to set the codecs or whatever they are....It will primarily be watched on 16:9 widescreen I image....but anything from old 4:3 televisons to laptops too. What settings should I use?...Should I reduce all pics to minimal size? Why do my transitions look so low res...? If anyone has any insight, please help. I don't know the difference in 1080i50 or 1080i 60...I have heard NTSC is not the way to go for a slideshow.....please help. How should I resize, how should I export, what am I doing wrong? It looks great for the most part on my on MacBook Pro 2.5ghz 2g ram 15 inch laptop....why cant i get it to translate on the televison?
I know parts of this question(s) have been discussed and appreciate anytime in helping me grasp what I am missing. This is so very important to me...also Livetype was a disaster... looked liked graphics from a 1982 sci-fi movie...sigh....I have done this before with success, but not in about 5 years. Technology and HD era have surpassed me although some of my questions ares still basic.

MacBook Pro 2.5ghz 2g ram Please help with FCP 5 slideshow technical difficultiesYes I considered using iMovie or iPhoto because of the size of this project but had little or no control over motion. Despite my obvious lack of knowledge I know my way around FCP to the extent I've needed it.
Perhaps I have been over thinking/researching everything because this project means so much to me.
I just wanted to make sure I imported my media correctly (scanned tiffs and music only) and export it with the proper settings so that it looks as professional as possible and nobody has a problem playing it.
I have had success with several slideshows before, as well as fun DV videos of the kids. Without motion, no problem. With motion, just a few minor bugs (flickering) but was very happy with the end result. The difference then I suppose is that was using all digital pics from (at the time) a 3 megapixel camera. Not huge files, not scanned images. I used NTSC then but read in a forum somewhere that that was a quick way to degrade your production. I feel like I'm close. If it looks like I want it to on my computer I can't be that far off, right?
I appreciate the info on DVD's needing to be NTSC compatible. Maybe I should just go back to the standard NTSC format. Are all the other audio/video settings simply for uploading to the web and so forth? Is there a NTSC setting that you would recommend that is better for todays standard widescreen television? I do want the final show to be in widescreen.

Need some help in saving video message from viber to my Iphone 5S with new ios 8's program . I disabled the thing that would save photos and videos automatically then, there comes a video I want to save. After loading and watching it, I press the "save to gallery" thing but it doesn't save in gallery. I tried all, restarting my phone, rebooting then turning on the save automatically thing and when I watch it again, it still wouldn't save.
Probably a good question to ask Viber or look at their support site.

Did you backup the iPad first? If you did - restore from the backup in order to restore the photos in the Saved Album on your iPad. If the photos were synced to the iPad, then sync them back again via iTunes.

If you did backup first, you will be restoring your most recent backup and you should be OK. But know that when you restore from a backup, you restore everything that is in that backup onto the iPad .... All documents, device settings, all data and so on. You cannot just select photos to restore to the iPad. It's all or nothing. -

I need some help to try to understand some of my issues; i'm creating a catalogue for a company and i'm uploading TIFFs pictures (600 of them). My problem is that this catalogue is both for print and web but is getting really heavy as a file, is there another way to convert all the pictures and maintain the quality for print and a reasonable size for web?
I'm uploading TIFFs because i need the transparency and i can't upload as PNG...
Can someone help me please.

Choose either file size (for web) or image quality (for print). Something has to give.
This "for web" business, is that still a PDF? Then export for print with full resolution, and export another version to put online where yo adjust the export settings for the web until image quality is worse than having a megabyte or two more. -

On both a MacBook Pro, an Acer laptop and my Mac Tower. I would love to think that it is a problem with the playback system, and that if I merely send the file off to the duplicator they won't have the same problem. Maybe that is the case...I don't know if I have a choice rather than sending it off to see. But it happens in the same spots, in the same way, on all three of the players so I'm a little reluctant to have faith.

Of course, but in the case there is no more 'original project.' It is gone like the wind, stolen along with his computer and backups.
I think I am stuck using one of two files as my master: a DVD he burned where I only see the stutter/vibration/jitter once, or the mpeg2 file where I see it three times. Hopefully, the duplication house can rip if off of one of them and not see the jitter. I know that in audio, my personal filed, you can do a lot to enhance already existing sound--EQ, compression, tape saturation emulation software, etc. I guess I'm hoping there is some kind of analog to the video world that address jitter after a source has been printed--if indeed the source has been printed to be jittery.

How do I making a photo slideshow then subsequently buring to DVD?
I have just purchased PSE Premier 12 thinking I could make a photo slideshow then burn it to DVD. However it appears that I can only make a video/movie type presentation which results in terribel graphics (blurs what are actually very sharp photos) and will not allow me to specify the transition time between photos. Would appreciate some help here or have I got the wrong product? thanks.

Title Issue apparently in Quick Workspace
Let us assume that you have 4 photos that are already in the Quick Filmstrip scene spaces 1, 2, 3, and 4 and that you want a title page before photo 1 in scene space 1
Text Menu/New Text/Default Text
Create your title in the Titler, note that the title is automatically placed in the text bar as a purple bar.
With the mouse cursor, left click and drag the purple bar down and to the left of the first photo in the first scene space of the Filmstrip. Drag the title there until you see a vertical green line to the left of the first photo in the first scene space of the Filmstrip.
Then release the mouse click to view your title page at the beginning of the Filmstrip line up.
Note I have demo'd this with version 11, same for version 12.
So that you will have a project adaptable to higher resolution end products at a future time, I am suggesting the following
Premiere Elements 12 Project Preset Set Manually
File Menu/New/Project
NTSC
DSLR
1080p
DSLR 1080p30 @ 29.97
before you exit the new project dialog, please a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project".
Back in the Premiere Elements 12 workspace, Edit Menu/Preferences/General
Set Video Transition Duration 90 frames (equivalent to 3 seconds in your 30 fps system)
Set Still Image Duration 300 frames (equivalent to 10 seconds in your 30 fps system)
Then import your photos (1920 x 1080 16:9) into the project, using Add Media/Files and Folders
Since you are in the Quick workspace which does not have Project Assets (files go directly to Filmstrip), I suggest that you order your sized photo in a folder and then import the folder into the project with Add Media/Files and Folders.
As for transitions (all the same), select all the photos, go to Timeline Menu/Apply Default Transitions. The duration of each will be as per the preference setting beforehand. These transition duration can be adjusted by double clicking the transition at the Filmstrip level, and making the adjustment in Transition Adjustments dialog pop up.
Please review the details for the IrfanView and Microsoft Office Picture Manager for cropping/resizing. Explore and experiment on a mini test scale before the grand project.

- If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:

- If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:

- If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

- If they were synced to the iPod then you have to get then from where they were synced from. -
Building a picture/slideshow DVD need some advice
right so i have done all the editing of my photos in aperture and the images are in RAW format what i need to know is what is the best format to export them in to build the DVD, i tried jpeg at same size but they look AWEFUL should i just use RAW or export them as TIFF

adamwhat are you viewing the results on? The Mac computer monitor using DVDSP simulator or Apple DVD player; Broadcast PAL monitor, domestic TV?
I would suggest checking the compression settings in DVDSP preferences > Encoding tab( command and , )
do a few short duration tests with different settings, its not always the highest data rate that gives good results.
best practice settings are;
field order: auto
Mode: test between the two one pass settings
max bit rate: always set less than 7.0 try testing at 5.0 5.5 6.0 6.5
motion estimation: Better -
Need some help with a slideshow (?)
Im doing a flash video and want to do a neat slideshow that is automatic and kind of highlights each item that is shown.
Let me explain a little further and maybe some of you understand what i am talking about.
Imagine there is a circle with 10 items on. Lets say 10 different nikon cameras. Now i want to rotate these 10 cameras so that one is shown at a time for like 5 seconds then rotate to the next camera like a circle.(i only want 1 camera showing at a time as i said). I have seen some flash ads with this effect and i am very curious to learn how to do this but i dont really know what kind of tutorial i need to read/watch in order to make this slideshow. Can anyone tell me how to make cursor smaller after inserting picture so that l can add somethimg right next to it instead of bottom of picture. Meaning the next line is too low
AFAIK, you can't. The nature of TextEdit is that it allows the picture to be treated as a character and adjusts the cursor size for that line.
You need a app that supports transparent overlays. -

Just to add that my iphone is connected to my PC, the "Autoplay" box is seen, but again when I click on "import pictures and videos, using Windows" a window opens saying "No pictures or videos were found on this device".
Thank you Peter, I had already tried this link before asking for help. I followed the steps, and when I clicked on " import pictures and videos " , a window poped up saying " No pictures or videos were found on this device". Any helps !

Up until recently I was able to watch Netflicks movies thru streaming. I now received a error message: plug in failure. Can anyone suggest how I can correct this?
I had the same problem. I checked with Netflix and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the silverlight? plug in. We went through several versions of this. Long story short, nothing worked, but it DID run just fine on other users on the same machine. a couple of months later, BAM it suddenly works perfectly again. Netflix blames Apple, Apple blames netflix... who knows...
Here's my advice: download the Silverlight or whatever it's called plugin and do the uninstall, then reinstall. If that works, great!
If not, make up a new user and see if netflix plays from that account. If so, you have a workaround that is tedious, but at least lets you watch your movies! Someday in the future,it might just start working again. -
Need some help on a game im making
Making a game called Beetle however i got stuck when trying to display the players name in the main method. As you will see the variable playerName is supposed to be returned by beetleGameIntro method but i dont think it is because when i run it the dialog box is blank...also i played with the initializing of that variable and found out that if i take away the blank quotes and make it public static the dailog box shows "null" but i want to know why its not displaying the name entered.
