Making a Rainbow Colored Smoke Explosion.

Hello.
I'm trying to make a smoke explosion colored as a rainbow with any desired background. I have a white smoke explosion with green screen on the back already, but I can't figure out how to color only the smoke using premiere elements.
I tried with a transparent rainbow gradient image I made in Photoshop, but it colors the whole screen and not only the smoke, it looks like this:
Does anyone know how to do this?
I'm using Premiere Elements 11. I have little experience in it, but I can do basic things, such as video merge.

ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!

Rainbow color vertical lines under strange circumstances

So the lovely lady at the airport dropped my bag during security check in at the airport. The bag contained my brand new Mac Book pro. So I thought no big deal (the fall was not that bad and it was in a bag with protection) and it turns out that the screen has a small bump and again I thought no big deal! Here comes the strange part i turn on my mac book and vertical rainbow lines appear across the screen. I close the lid and open it again (screen turns off and on) and the color is restored. My mac will work as perfectly as soon as there is motion on the screen of anykind (videos playing, mose moving etc.) or if the camera is turned and the camera picture is displayed somewhere on the screen (facetime or photobooth). As soon as I display anything still on the computer its rainbow colors again. The bump is about half of mm in the lower right corner of the screen. I guess it can be a software issue (unlikely but possible) and what is left the wires on the screen or the screen itself. Anyone with similar experiences? How much would a repair cost (I would rather not change the whole screen). But if it was the screen or the wires what difference would it make if anything is running on the screen or the screen is static?

Problem resolves (if anyone cares). I just saved 1000 Euros on screen replacement using my pure briliance! The right corner bumb caused a damage to the Isight cable which was (when no app is using the camera) sending random electrical signals to the screen. By using a small script to disable Isight drivers the camera is totaly out of power and no electrical signals occure. The screen is super for hours now, I just enable the drivers before I use the camera again.

IPod - visual "rainbow" colors in screen

Hello I bought myself an iPog 30GB. Now sometimes I see "rainbow" colors in the screen. They centered at the bottom of the screen and they look almost like a sunset.
Is this normal?

It's normal. It's a polarization effect similar to when you look at a car's windscreen through sunglasses.

I am having a problems when trying to read jpeg-images.
This works:

This is windows specific. You can't do windows specific stuff using Java unless you use some native library.
My suggestion: forget about my documents and use your own directory. Most applications use a directory such as '.APPNAME'. For example netbeans uses a directory '.netbeans' . That way your app is cross platform.

Rainbow color table flatten to pixmap

I want to use the labview flatten to pixmap to make a jpeg file out of a 16 bit greyscale. Labview makes lovely images from my data with the "rainbow" color table. I can't find the rainbow color table anywhere on the forum and would spend many hours trying to make it myself. I have a "rainbow banded" table that I found here on the forum, but it just doesn't do the image justice. Can someone help me out with the plain old rainbow color table? J (using labview 11.0)

Have you tried using your own color gradient with the VI attached to the other forum? There are plenty of rgb color gradients floating around online; Googling 'rgb gradient' returns plenty of examples, such as the one attached below.

Rainbow colored pinwheel

This may be a similar question as the previous, but I continually get a rainbow colored pinwheel during searches and there is a substantial delay before executing the command. What could my problem be?? I don't seen to get this problem with other search engines, only Safari. But I love to use Safari. Is this problem easily correctable??

I held the cursor on the Messenger icon and lifted it out of the dock and had to do this a couple of times and finally the force quit option came up. Do not know what caused it. Maybe we will both get a better answer, but hoping this may help in the meantime.

Picture turns into rainbow colored screen

I have a Storm 9550. When I take a picture, it captures it, shows up on the screen and when it finalizes it, it makes the picture totally unviewable. It is nothing but lines in rainbow colors. Anyone have any idea what this is all about or what I can do to get it to work again properly? Thank you.

Beginner needs help making a multi-color sphere!

Hello all,
I am an Illustrator CS3 newbie and I have run into a hurdle. I am trying to make a blue sphere with ONE gray quadrant. That is, 3/4 of the sphere looks blue, but the upper right 1/4 looks gray.
I can make a fine looking blue sphere by placing a small light blue circle inside a larger dark blue circle, and doing a Blend. I tried to place a gray rectangle over that blended sphere and do a Pathfinder Divide, but the blended sphere doesn't want to accept my Divide.
When I try doing the Pathfinder Divide first, I get a 2D circle with the right color scheme (3/4 blue and 1/4 gray) but when I go to blend a smaller circle into that to attempt to make a 3D sphere effect, it goes all screwy.
Help me, Illustrator veterans! What is the right way to make a blue sphere with a gray quadrant???

1. Turn on Smart Guides.
2. Ellipse Tool: Shift Drag to draw a circle.
3. Attributes Palette: Turn on the Show Center icon.
4. Deselect.
5. White Pointer: Select the upper right segment of the circle. Click the segment, not an anchorPoint. Edit>Cut. Edit>PasteInFront. You now have two paths.
6. Pen Tool: Click the upper anchorPoint of the single-segment path you just pasted. Move the Pen cursor downward until SmartGuides senses the center. Click. Move the Pen cursor rightward and click the other endpoint of the path. The path is closed. You now have two paths: one open, one closed. Select both paths.
7. Gradient Palette: Click the Gradient icon. Set it to Radial. Each of the two paths now has a gray radial grad fill. Leave both paths selected.
8. Gradient Tool: Mousedown in the midde of the smaller path, drag diagonally leftward and downward, crossing the center and a little beyond. The figure should look fairly like a sphere, with the highlight in the upper right. It appears that one continuous Grad Fill spans both objects, but in fact, each still has its own fill. Deselect. Select the larger path (the part you want to be blue).
9. Gradient Palette: Edit the colors of the two color stops, making the white one light blue and the black one dark blue.
10. Set stroke to None on both paths.

Making sure the colors are accurate in photoshop

Lately, my finished photoshop phot looks differen when I view it in Picasa, or ipad, or iphone. Is there a way to set the balance in photoshop to guarantee it is accurate?

Photoshop calculates its display of images based on the screen profile, so one needs to calibrate one’s screen(s), not Photoshop.
Monitors can change with time so it is recommended to calibrate them regularly.
It just seems that lately it looks different on other devices, but the same among themselves.
So how should the problem be with Photoshop?
Do you embed the profiles when saving images?

Making type change color on rollover: Cant make it work

Incredibly, I can not figure out how to make hyperlinked text change color on rollover.
I thought it was a matter of assigning a new CSS rule, but I cant find the dialog box within which to specify a rollover color.
I cant believe how difficult and obtuse such a super simple and basic function is in Dreamweaver.
WHAT am I doing wrong?

Lenovo G550 puking rainbow colors in the middle of the screen

Okay, so as the title says -- and, yes, I am serious -- the screen of my sister's Lenovo G550 has vertical stirps of colors grouped in the middle of the screen. the background is somewhat similar to the background color of the usualy Windows 7 start-up. But what scared me when I saw it was the fact that upon pressing the power button, the lenovo start-up screen did not show instead it just looked like an old tv closing down. The thing is, it was fine yesterday when my sister was using it. Then all of a sudden when she opened it this morning, the screen showed that. If it were degenerative, then I guess it might take a while and not so sudden right?

It doesn't. My sister gave me additional information: When she opened it this morning, it was fine then the screen turned white that's when the problem started. A while ago, we removed the battery pack and let it stand for a while. Suddenly, we saw a hazy picture of my sister's screen before it all went crazy. I really don't know what happened. It shouldn't just go crazy without a reason right? I mean, if the lcd were to fail, it would not fail suddenly but instead it would fail over time (my brother's lcd -- same laptop -- has white horizontal streaks on the screen).
Edit: Just tried on an external LCD and it works. It just doesn't work on her laptop's LCD. Do you know why it suddenly konked out?
