Making A Slide Show To Burn To A DVD

His I just started using photshop elemnents 13 from a previous 11 version.
In the past I picked some 300 slides to make a slide show with music and then exported it to a WMV and then imported the WMV into premiere elements and burned a DVD. In phtoshop elements when I selected my slide and created a slide show I could choose how many seconds each slide, the color of the borders, the manner in which slide changed and I used random.
You could then do zoom in or out, make extra slide with information, add music and then save and export to a WMV and then import that into premiere elements and then burn a DVD.

Reason I thought PSE4 would burn to a DVD is, there is a button in the slide show screen that says "burn to DVD" in the PSE4 book we were reading.
If Premiere Elements 2 were also installed with Photoshop Elements 4, then it was possible to burn to DVD from the PSE 4 slide show editor by using Premiere Elements 2.   Not all writing on that workflow made it obvious that the Premiere Elements software was required.
Would I be better off getting a different program for making slide shows? The pictures I'm trying to make into a slide show are from a 90th birthday party I shoot over the weekend and want to give out copies of a DVD to the guest.
Option 1
If you have already made a slide show in the Photoshop Elements slide show editor, then you might as well do some investigation of the alternatives.
-- What Windows operating system are you running ? If it includes Windows DVD Maker, then I would give that a try. Write your output of the slide show from PSE to a File - WMV - with Size of DVD,NTSC (or DVD,PAL if your TV is PAL format).  Then use that WMV file as input to Windows DVD Maker.
-- If you don't have Windows DVD Maker then you could investigate whatever DVD software came with your PC.
FYI - One warning about the photo files that you use in that PSE slide show. If you use hundreds of high resolution photo files, then PSE can have problems. If your output will NOT be High Def (and yours probably will not be since you mentioned a DVD) then "downsizing" the photo files to approx 1000x 750 pixels will decrease the probablility of your having problems with the slide show.
Option 2
If you have not yet started the PSE slide show, then you might consider a program that many people like for slide shows ----- ProShow Gold from Photodex. It does have a trial.

  • How can an Aperture slide show be burned to a DVD?

I see Aperture can be exported to Facebook and Twitter or MobleMe for use by other "freinds" on their computers.  How can a Aperture produced Slideshow be provided to those that only can see the show on a tv set with a DVD player?  I want to use the editing feathers in Aperture and not be limited  to those available in the IDVD application.

You can't do that with Aperture.
What you can do is export your Slideshow as a Quicktime movie. You need a special application to create a DVD that can play in a DVD player. If you don't want to use iDVD use Toast or another such app.

  • **Adding different text to each photo before making a slide show.

And the top of the day to you,
Is there a way to add different text to each photo before making a slide show? I know you can do this in PS4 but it is not very easy. Any ideas?
    Al

Use the Caption metadata to add slide text then click the ABC icon in the slideshow module, followed by clicking the up/down icon, then choose Edit. Insert the Caption option from the IPTC Data box.

  • How do I make my keynote or iMovie slide show (with music) into a DVD, without iDVD as I don't have it and you can no longer purchase from Apple.

I am new to Apple, since Oct '11.  ( iDVD did not come with this laptop).  I am making a slide show in keynote and can't download to iDVD to make it into a DVD that I can play on any home player. As far as I know, I need to make it into a quicktime file, then find some 3rd party software to convert to DVD. Has anyone had any luck with this.  I think I may just purchase an old copy of iLife from Amazon...

No,  you rent it to watch on ATV only.  You can purchase it to your iTunes library though and store that externally.

  • Hello,  I am have problems with coruption of the photos in a slide show after burning the DVD in iDVD.  This coruption does not always appear when you preview the project.  I have slowed down the burn rate to 1X and kept the quality to professional.

I am having a great deal of problems with Data coruption in slide shows after I have burned a DVD in iDVD.  I have changed burn rate from best to 1X with no difference in the coruption.  I have the quality set to professional with no improvement.  The size of the project is near 3.95, so it should fit on a single layer burn.  Should I use either iMovie to create the slide show or "Photo to Movie"?  Also, can anyone comment on how I preserve the highest quality picture resolution with a slide show?  If I do use iMovie or Photo to Movie,  the file size should exceed the 4.2 size so, will I have to buy new DVD's which are capable to handle the double layer burn and upto 8 GB?  What DVD's are recommended?  Any preferred brand?  Are there problems with burning with double layer?  I read on this blog of numerous problems.

DVDs are LOW resolution by today's standards - only about 0.3 megapixels - so there is no way they your images on a TV set will look "High Definition".  See Preparing images for iDVD slideshows at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6675.html for recommendations on image sizes to use.  Using larger images won't give you better  quality, andf in some cases, will lower you image quality because  the Quicktime resizing that occurs isn't the best.

  • Is it possible to burn a slide show onto a Blu-ray DVD ?

Using PS8 Premier I could't burn my slide show ( no movies ) with music onto a Blu-ray DVD. The problem seems to be......low memory. ( my computer has 2 Gig but my project which doesn't seem that involved has over 4 or 5 Gig ). The reason I want to burn onto Blu-ray is to get a clearer project than I was able to on a regular DVD. I get a good slide show on my cpu monitor and also on a regular DVD in the smaller screen of the burner program but the project loses resolution when going to full screen. That is why I wanna try it on Blu-ray.

If you are going to BD, then I would start with a BD Preset. This ARTICLE will tell you the supported Frame Sizes, and FPS.
I would choose the 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 FPS Interlaced (NTSC), or 25 FPS Interlaced (PAL). I would then go to my original stills and Scale them to ~ 1920 x 1080 in PS/PSE. This ARTICLE will give you tips on doing that with automation in either image editing program. Import those Scaled Images into PrE, with the Duration that you feel is correct, depending on the "flow" of the SlideShow. Note: you can tweak that Duration for each Image, if needed, but by planning a bit, most will not need any tweaking. Then, add any Pans, or Zooms (Effect>Motion>Scale, and/or Motion>Position). Add any Transitions desired, and edit any Audio. Add the desired BD Menus and Chapter Markers (no Stop Marker at the end of the Timeline). This Project should burn to BD easily.
Good luck, and hope that it helps,
    Hunt
Note: in the first linked article, you will see that 20 FPS is not supported, and neither is 1 FPS. You can, of course, make the Duration of each Image 1 Frame, but will probably want the Image on-screen for longer, say 5 - 10 secs.

  • Burning slide show using scrapbook theme to DVD for viewing on TV using DVD

Made a slideshow using scrapbook theme with songs in iPhoto '09. Clicked on burn disk, after disk was complete tried to play in DVD player on a TV and it won't work.
Can anyone tell me how I can keep the scrapbook theme and burn it to a DVD for viewing on TV using a normal DVD player? We want to be able to just put in DVD player and it auto start into the slide show if possible (if not then a button to start slide show). I know you can go into iDVD and burn a slide show with music but it looses the scrapbook theme of random photo's and cluster photo's that we like when viewed in iPhoto.

I also need to solve this problem. I plan to try to export the slideshow to a Quicktime (.mov) and a MPEG4. I think MPEG4 may be recognized by most DVD players. The Quicktime (.mov) should be able to work with an iDVD project.

  • Are there any step-by-step directions for making a slide show with music on iDVD?

I once knew how to do this, but lost my directions (from a friend) in make a slide show using iDVD.  Where could I download the steps for making a DVD that I could play on my DVD player and view on my TV monitor.?

I will try this.  I did go to help, but did not click on that subject.  Actually, all of a sudden it worked, except that the music I choose did not work.  So, I will work on this later.  Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Making a slide show

    I have iLife 5
I want to make slide show with a various pieces of music and audio soundtrack.
I have 150 photographs in iPhoto. I know I can send a iPhoto slide show to iDVD but I cant get any farther than that. It's limited one piece of music looping over and over...No editing of sound for example.
So I decided to try iMovie. Then the problem was the file size. By the time I had added fade in / out transitions it was over 18GB(with no transitions it's still over 6GB). Each photo was on screen for about 12 secs and each transition uses about 3 secs from each...so the viewing time for each photo is about 6 secs. There are obviously limitations but interrogation of the help and support elements does not readily comment on this.
I have the facility to burn to the double sided dvds but I'd rather get it on a single sided media for the sake of distributing to friends.
Which is the best way to proceed please?

I currently have iLife '06 but I think this function was available in '05 as well.
If you have several songs you want to play in your slide show, set up a Playlist in iTunes. With your songs in a new playlist, it is time to switch back to iPhoto.
Go to the slide show you are working on and click on the Music button. You can now select the Playlist as the music to play during the show. Then, you can go into the "Settings" menu and select "Fit slideshow to music". Now, not only will all your songs play but they will fit perfectly with your images. Your transitions should still work.
Again, I am pretty sure these options were all there in iLife '05 but I am not 100% sure. I hope this helps and sorry if it is too late to help.

  • Making a slide show from a CD

I have burned a CD from an iPhoto album (iPhoto 4) and have loaded it onto my new laptop (10.4.5 and iPhoto 6.0.2) and want to view it as a slide show but seem unable to do so. It opens into iPhoto but the slide show is grayed out.

    Hi Don,
You have to import the photos into your current library first, then do an on the fly slideshow or permanent slideshow.
    To import:
Select the album, select all in the album
drag to your library in the source column to import

  • Making a slide Show composed of pictures and videos.. Compatability questio

So I was given some home movies (on DVD) and some pictures (in JPEG Format) from a family friend and asked to make a slide show.
I have some questions regarding FCE:
    1. In the past I've had problems with interlacing regarding moving pictures (i.e. ken burns effect) - the pictures would come out distorted and clear horizontal interlacing lines would flicker. The flicker filter and deinterlace didn't work and I've tried the 1 px blur before hand. The problem is completely random and annoying. If anyone has any recommendations on how to fix this before I start it would be much appreciated. Should I change the pictures to a different format? resize?...
    2. I will use MPEG stream clip to convert the dvd's to DV format and then use a DV format easy setup in FCE with a 4:3 aspect ratio (is this correct)? Are there any timeline settings I should change to specifically support this kind of format along with the JPEG's?
    3. What export settings should I use if I plan to burn this to a DVD and play it on a projector?
Thanks in advance, let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Haven't started using the pictures yet so I haven't had to use any filters, I was just stating some problems I've experienced in the past to see if anyone could give me a preemptive solution.
I am more concerned with getting all the setup options correct before I start. I'd also like to know what export settings are best for DVD use as I've had some blurring problems with exports in the past as well. And I usually do not do a full render of the sequence before I export, I was under the impression it renders automatically when you do an export.

  • Where is the frame rate setting control when making a slide show?

I am trying to make a slide show using QuickTime Pro and cannot find the frame rate control.I put all my consectively-numbered jpegs in one folder. I then clicked on "File," the "Open Image Sequence," then a window opened up and I click on the first jpeg in the series of photos I want in my slide show. Then the first image appears in the QT Window. The instructions next say that I should be able to change the rate at which each slide/jpeg appears, but it doesn't tell you where to find the "frame rate" so I can change it. It doesn't appear at all on its own, so where is it? Anything else I'm missing? Thank you.

What version of Photoshop Elements and or Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system?
In addition, could you please clarify?
It sounds like you are creating your slideshow in the Elements Organizer. Where are you seeing these distortions and blurs, in the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor Filmstrip or in the Premiere Elements workspace after you have transferred the slideshow from the Elements Organizer 9 Slideshow Editor to Premiere Elements workspace?
What are the pixel dimensions of the photos in this slideshow and how many of these photos are in the slideshow? What format are they in..jpg, psd, other?
With regard to what you wrote:
Also how do I transport them from Elements to Premier, it has a tab to do that but when I get to the elements file I don't know where to drag and drop into.
If you are in the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor and use the Output option Edit with Premiere Elements, then you would expect the automatic transfer of the slideshow to Premiere Elements, with a copy in video format (.psess) in the project media as well as on the Timeline. Nothing for you to drag and drop.
For all those reasons, I am asking for clarification.
    Thanks.
