Making a Video

I want to make a welcome/introduction video of myself for my business website. Can I use my WebCam to record audio and video and then down load that to a website who can put it into my website?
If yes, can someone give detailed instructions?

Hey guys I am currently making a video of 1 second per day I started on January 1st till yesterday that's a long project

After that I deleted the application and re downloaded the update. And I can't find the project and when I tap import from itunes I find nothing, is there a way to retrieve that project? I am making a video out of still images. I would like to start zoomed in on a certain image and have the video show the image as it zooms out. I would like the speed of the zoom to be the same from start to finish. How can i achieve this?

Audio formats suitable for making song videos on iPad's iMovie...

Unfortunately the answer to your question is ... No. you cant make the built in music App work the same way that is does on the iPhone. I have no clue why Apple decided to do it this way but they did.
I don't use any of them, but there are other Music apps available for the iPad. You may want to look into one of those. Here are a few of them. You can search for more.

Making music videos, QuickTime Pro likes to pause for a second.

I'm making music videos, and some times at the start of the video, or where I add other video to the .mov file, the video likes to pause for 1/4th to a second, then the video like jerks forward to where it should be, while the audio is playing the way it should.
Is there any way to keep this from occuring?

Your data rate for the video is 4.5 times of what it should be (9240 kbits/s). Try using 2000 kbits/s for the video data rate.
Here are some other factors that can make the video sluggest along with the above:
1) The dimensions of the video is 849x406. The height and width of the video should be divisible by, 16 for best... or 8 for better... or 4 for good. This can effect the encoding (always does) or playback of the video.

Even tho the above article is for Flash it also applies to h.264.
2) The audio is mp3, this isn't h.264 complient. AAC audio is... I would change the audio encoding to AAC.
3) And lastly...what program did you use to encode this video with?
I'm glade you supplied a short video. Most people don't. See if next time you can supply at least ten seconds. Thirty second would be the bomb!

There still is some jerkiness. This is inherent from the footage you supplied.

There is no such thing as universal format and that is that. You are looking for the magic pearl that doesn't exist and rather than waste your time on a futile search, it would be better to actually read up on the various formats and their limitations, including how playback devices may or may not support this and that.

Yes! As long as you don't delete your project files/library, you'll be fine. When you install the full version, it might create a new library, go to your movies folder or wherever your current library is and just double click it to open it.

Actions for making a video player

May I ask if anyone knows of an action to create a cool looking video player?
I have a product that includes a number of video tutorials and I want to be able to represent each tutorial with a cool looking video player with a thumbnail of the corresponding video.
This is similar to the idea of making an ebook cover out of an image...except instead of a book cover I want a video player and instead of an image I'll use a screen capture from each video.

In case you want to add, change, or rearrange any of your individual pieces, I would recommend encoding each as a separate sequence from FCP. Compressor will make it pretty easy to set up a whole batch export. These can be placed into a single track in DVDSP, which you can then make different playlists with stories, but as soon as you find the typo in the credits of the last 20-second short, You'll be very glad you don't have to encode the whole 2 hours again.

Making a video playlist

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to make a video playlist (say for like a party) in either itunes or frontrow. I've tried making one in itunes but it doesn't seem to play like a normal music playlist because it won't go to the next video. Also, i realize i can make one in frontrow by just loading only the videos i want in the playlist into itunes but this seems like a big hassle. I appreciate the responses

Just started it playing on video then made that go to the end by moving the diamond that appears on the window when you hover the mouse. Moved on to the next track no problem.

The scrolling works in the top window in iTunes as well if you don't have the video playing in a different window. All tracks have the tick box to the left of them selected.

Export is making my video smaller on all sides?

I can't really fullscreen videos when I convert them. I searched around for fullscreen but all anyone was talking about was making PP windows in fullscreen, sorry if this has been addressed.

Changing the preset to MP4, MP2 H264 bluray, whatever, the preview doesnt change and I still get this. Opening up a converted video gives me a smaller video and fullscreening it never truly fullscreens and I don't know why. Import/export resolutions are the same???
I know I can crop the video from the top left, but why should I need to do that?

my nokia lumia 1020 has stopped me receiving or making video call, it was only few days ago that it has worked and i dont know if it something i have done or if it was an update or something. it always worked before thats what made me so puzzled when trying to call it just rings then drops the call if im receiving a call it just leaves me a missed call or if i do answer also drops the call and says no answer. please someone help me i use skype everyday when out and about.

Making small video "e-mail" with built in iSight

I am very new to the discussions and I apologize for the newbie question...
I travel a lot. I have a new MacBook Pro that has the built in iSight camera. I would like to make little five minute "movie postcards" that I can e-mail to my family to stay in touch. My wife is PC (one of those "mixed marriages"), so I don't think I can get video iChat to work well. So my "video postcard" idea might be worthwhile.
Is there a "beginner's guide" to accomplishing this? It would be great if the little "postcard" was in QuickTime and small enough to send as an e-mail attachment.
Thoughts would be appreciated, and again, I'm sure that this is all beginner's stuff!

QuickTime Player Pro can be used to record an AV Message (File/New Movie Recording), then just select File/Share to send it as an email attachment ...

Adobe Media Encoder making blocky videos

The backstory: I have two Mac laptops: an old Powerbook G4/Panther running Imovie 4 and a brand new Macbook Pro/Snow Leopard running Imovie 9.
I've now made several FLVs that play beautifully on the internet: I imported old clips *that had been extracted using the Powerbook/Imovie 4* into my Macbook Pro/Imovie 9, edited the videos in Imovie 9, exported them as standard m4vs, then encoded them into FLVs using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 4.2+. They look terrific.
The problem:
For the first time yesterday, I used my Macbook/Imovie 9 combo to import clips shot with the same exact camera, then did everything exactly the same. The exported m4vs look fine. However, the resulting re-encoded FLVs are badly blocky, as though a mosaic filter was laid on. This is mostly happening when there is any increased motion in the footage.
I tried exporting into .mov then encoding for Flash in the same way, and no difference. The adjustment I'm currently trying is to bypass the presets on AME to enable a 2-pass scan rather than 1. There does not appear to be a keyframe-interval selection option in AME CS4 4.2, or I would adjust that as well. This custom encoding is taking 5 times as long to complete as the preset encoding: over an hour versus 15-16 minutes. It may or may not work, but regardless, I don't have that kind of time - I have a bunch of videos to make.
I'm really sick about this, because my beloved Powerbook has a dying harddrive, which is why I bought the new laptop. I don't want to believe that it was Imovie 4 that was responsible for those lovely videos. Later Macs no longer support Imovie.
Is there something I'm missing that will make AME work with Imovie 9 to eliminate the problem? I know Imovie 9 is a turkey, but it did make those lovely videos with the old clips from version 4. There's gotta be a way.

After playing Youtube go to your temp internet
files and copy the file to HDD which is a mp4.
Add this to the Media Encoder and see if it will work now.
If it still does not work, your ME is prob. not working right.
I sometimes use AME as a converter and it handles mp4 just fine.
