Making an autosaved sequence the master sequence?

working on a project with multiple sequences and my FCP shut down... Had to go to autosave vault for one sequence... Now I have two projects open. How do I make a sequence from an autosave file the master sequence?
Thank you in advance for your replies...

my strategie would have only the autosaved project open and save that as +Projectname version 2+. Then continue working.
Otherwise you can just copy (in the browser) the sequence from the autosaved project to the original project. But that would break match framing. And I use that a lot. So first option would be my choice...

  • How do I get a text file from Photoshop  to work in the main sequence in pp?

How do I get a text file to work properly in the master sequence. I moved it from Photoshop, which I learned to do from a tutorial, but when I move the animated text sequence to the master, it either isnt running, or it is scaled way too big. How do I get it to run in the main sequence?

"Wont Work Here" !  Does not mean much.
Are you having an audio or a video issue?
Looks like no video clip on the video layer above that section of audio.
I am teaching myself this stuff completely on the fly
I suggest you do the Basic Tutorials ( Adobe TV for example) in both Premiere Pro and PhotoShop.
You need to be competent in the basics and fundamentals of these apps and that will also help you describe and discuss the issues.   Check the 'Products on this site....

  • Finding source TC in a Master sequence

Hello my good friends, I have a 5 hour long master sequence and the client is giving me source TC (NOT master TC) which I need to edit out.
Coming from a Avid background I would simply have a TC window reflecting the video track that I want to see TC and I would enter a TC and it would find it in the master sequence.
So....I see in Pr I can have a TC window reflecting a certain video track, but I cannot enter a TC to move to that point in the master sequence.
Question: Can Pr do this or is there a simple work around?
    Many thanks in advance
    Bob

Use the keyboard shortcut "M" to perform a Match Frame operation.
    Nein!
Use Shift+T: Reveal Nested Sequence. It will open up the nest in a Timeline panel tab (if it isn't already) and park the playhead at the matching frame.

  • Audio works in sequence but not in "master" sequence

I've built a number of sequence which each contain sections of project. I have one "master" sequence where I've added each of the section sequence to form the finished project. I do this all the time and I've never had an issue until now.
One of my sequences has a small piece of audio which I extracted from a video clip. When I play the individual sequence everything sounds fine. But when I play the master sequence there is 3 seconds of silence. I have similar issue in another sequence where one of two music section fades back in even though I've set the level to nothing.
I've checked the master sequence and there are no other audio tracks. Everything else looks and sounds fine.
Is this a software glitch or am I over looking something?
    All ideas welcomed.

    Tom:
Your knowledge of the software is amazing.
I had never reading anything about the audio mix down command. That did the trick.
    Thanks very much.

  • Nesting just in and out points into master sequence

I have multiple sequences and want to put these into one master sequences. I only want to put the “in to out” points of these sequences and am not sure how to do this. When i select in to out and drag into the master sequence it gives me everything in the whole sequence. Can anyone help. thanks.

You are correct i worked it out, thanks so much for your help.
Is their any way to use the in and out points in the sequence to do this?

  • Color correction problem between original sequence and multicam sequence... Please help

I used three camcorders to record a youth dance recital.  I created an orginal sequence for the three camcorders and another sequence using the multicam feature to edit the dances.  After I finished editing, I went back to the original sequence to make some color correction and brightness adjustments using the Fast Color Correction controls.  After that, I sent everything to Encore to create a DVD.  When I watched the DVD, I noticed some of my color correction settings were still off, so I went back to the orginal sequence to make some changes.  Unfortunately, the multicam sequence would not read the new settings.  After a few unsuccessful attempts to get the clip from the multicam sequence to read the clip from the original sequence, I decided to start over by clearing the Fast Color Correction controls from the clip.  The multicam sequence then adjusted back matching the original sequence.  However, when I started a new Fast Color Correction control in the original sequence, the multicam sequence would not take the new settings.  How to I get the mulitcam sequence to read the orginal sequence?

    Thank Jim for replying:
I am stumped on this one.  I did a few radical tweeks and it did not take.  For example, I made one clip in the original sequence go completely dark.  However, the clip in the mulicam sequence did not change.
I even deleted the render files and the work area render files and started over with making changes.  Nothing.  Any change I make on the original sequence will no longer adjust in the multicam sequence.
Any last words of advice before I delete the entire multicam sequence and start over?  Thanks.

  • Hi, dragging jpeg files into i-movie - the selection of jpegs is repeating certain photos and not featuring others, making the entire sequence impossible to view. PLEASE HELP!

Hi, I have been dragging jpeg files into i-movie all week without issue. Now all of a sudden, the selection of jpegs I'm dragging is repeating certain photos and not featuring others, making the entire sequence impossible to view.
Please help, this is urgent for a funeral tomorrow! It didnt happen with any of the other family tributes, they all worked fine.
    Many thanks,
    Ruth

It worked! Thank you! I finally just finished about 20 minutes ago! It took over 26 hours to complete the process you described, but I stuck with it and it worked. I am glad I didn't give up or "forget it" as some might have suggested. That would have set me back until tomorrow!
Ultimately, it turned out there were 45,910 jpgs created. No wonder it took so many hours to render/display them all. It ended up being about 10 hours before it seemed they were all rendered but the process between them displaying and being able to start really deleting them took a few hours because partly I was asleep and also partly it took forever to do anything. Any action as simple as selecting and right-clicking to Get Info, or emptying the trash, would take 20-30 minutes, a couple times longer. The clock stopped many times for 20-30 minutes at a time, a few times over 30 minutes, before catching back up. My cursor never froze which is what really kept me going, although it was a spinning beach ball for most of the time. I was never so relieved to see my regular cursor as opposed to seeing a spinning beach ball as I was early this morning after about 10 hours!
Once I was able to open a Finder window and select all 45,900 files (I had already deleted 10 in the previous couple hours during experimenting of trying to figure out what would work best), then right-click and select to move all the files to the trash, the process of moving them to the trash took 4.5 hours. Then deleting them from the trash took a couple minutes. There were 21.4 GB!!! No wonder the whole process took 26 hours!
    mende1, thank you so much!

  • What is happening when I change the size of the image in the program sequence window?

I noticed that I can change the image size of my exported file. I imported a 720 x 480 DV file into CS5.5. I went to my program sequence window and changed the settings to show the smallest image in that window. I then clicked on the image and used the handles that appear to make that small image large enough to nearly fill the screen. When I exported my final file and played the resulting WMV, the image on my screen was nearly twice as large as it would have been if I had not previously altered the image size in the program sequence window. I had to do this alteration for each clip in my timeline, or the unaltered ones would stay at the smaller size. The quality did not seem to be significantly impaired. I learned about this on a youtube video. The person who did the video claimed that this was a simple and quick way to upgrade standard video to HD. Of course this is not true. He was only changing the size of the resulting video. Does anyone know what is really happing when you do this procedure and why it changes the size of the exported  video?

The size (resolution) of the exported video is not affected by anything you do while editing.  It is dependant solely on the resolution set in the export settings.
Ideally you want to edit in an sequence that matches your media\, which will be the same size or larger than the required export.  In other words, the same or smaller is OK.  Making things bigger in post is not the best option.  If you need things bigger, shoot them bigger.

  • Different sized clips in the same sequence?

I have footage from various types of cameras with resolutions ranging from 640x480 to 720P in the same sequence.
    1. What is the best size to set my sequence? At the size of the largest clip?
    2. What else can I do to make the different sized clips work well in the same sequence (with the understanding that 640x480 is low res and poor quality)?
    Thanks.

    Hi Stanwelks,
    1) No, especially since the 640x480 material you have is not of good quality (even if it was you'd lose quality by enlarging the images). Sounds like that converting the HD material to SD could be your best choice especially if you have more standard definition material than HD.
2)Keep it simple. Convert the HD material to DV and work on a DV timeline. This way you can match your sequence settings to one format, making sure you don't get to render all the time and that the lower res material is not going to look any worse.

  • Error reading the standard sequence from the document tables

    Hi PM Experts,
    Please help!
Recently SAP patching is carried out in our R/3 environments. Before patching, all our customized RFCs were working correctly.
We are using BAPI ''BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL'  in a RFC.  After the patching, the version date  of  the BAPI ''BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL'   is changed to new date of patching.
Now, when we are calling the customized RFC,  ''BAPI_ALM_ORDER_GET_DETAIL'  is returning an error  'Error reading the standard sequence from the document tables'.
This comes when we are pasiing any order with Order type 'ZM02' ( Maintenance Order - Preventative). It is working absolutely fine with Order Type ZM01(Maintenance Order - In Hours Opex).
Sometime, when RFC is run individually, it works fine with same data and sometime it is throwing this error with the same data. Very Inconsistent.
Please advice whether patching is the reason.
    Any advice..is welcomed.
    Many Thanks,
    Rohit

    Thanks a lot.
We found that the flow of the code(RFC) was making a situation  where even correct order id was passed to this BAPI, the result was an error 'Error reading the standard sequence from the document tables'. we reverted the RFC to it's earlier version. now that problem is not there.
