Making book with aperture..when moving pictures from book, where do they go? I wanted to move a picture to another page
I am making a book using Aperture. During the production process, when I want to replace a picture, or move it to another location in the book, as I click and move it out of the book, it "disappears". (In I Photo 11 it returned to my list of available pictures).
Where are these pictures? How can I retrieve them?

how do you "click and move the image out of the book"?
If I have added an image to a book page and want it removed and maybe added to a different page, then I ctrl-click the image on the book page and select "cut content", delete or "copy content" (or I select it and press the delete key). Then the image will reappear in the film strip below the book pages and I can drag it to a different page (or I can paste it directy onto a different page if I selectes "copy..".
If I on the other hand deleted an image from the film strip below the book, then the image will be gone from the book completely. How is this different for you?

You can import photos from the Camera Roll to your computer using the following instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
If you want to keep the photos in your Camera Roll after the import, that is possible; see the link above for instructions.
Importing Camera Roll photos will have no impact on photos in Albums which came to the phone via previous iTunes sync with a computer.
If you want to return some of the imported photos from the computer to the phone, that can be done via a sync in iTunes. Note very carefully: each sync with iTunes sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current iTunes sync settings. That means, among other things, that if you have a previously synced photo on the phone and no longer have it on the computer (or change the location or the iTunes settings for the sync) it will be removed from the phone. -
Just upgraded to FF 4.0 beta 5 - noticing that when I visit a new page that uses Flash, I navigate away or to other sites and the box that Flash used is blanked out and super-imposes itself over the page. That means when I move from the flash page, the only thing I can do it close the browser and reopen.
Yes, I am using 10.1 (or whatever the latest flash is for my MAC - that also has all its updates). Reverted back to FF 4.0 beta 4 and NO PROBLEM using the older beta version. "Plugin content can be rendered incorrectly leaving blank white squares over web content. Scrolling or switching tabs will often fix the problem, although sometimes you must close the tab which contains that plugin content (see [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=592453 bug 592453])"
This should be fixed in the next beta. -
Importing Pictures from Camera-Where are they in iPhoto?

We just bought a new Canon SD1000 camera. When I plug it into my iMac to download the pictures, the software that came with the camera pops up instead of iPhoto, and I can never find my new pictures in iPhoto. I can see them if I go out to Finder and then Pictures and then they're in a folder with today's date on them, but they're not there in the library in iPhoto. I can drag them over onto my desktop and then into the library, but it seems like that must be defeating the purpose somehow. I would like to set up a good organizing system from the start for our pictures, but I'm kind of at a loss. If I could figure out a system before we go on vacation next week, that would be great! Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First look at Terence Devlin's excellent treatis on iPhoto's folder structure. It describes where the photos go when imported. Each import ends up as a roll (select By Roll in the View menu). In iPhoto's preferences you can set one item to show the last x number of roll directly under the Library icon in the Source pane.
Expand the Library icon in the Source pane and make sure each of the year icons under it are checked. If not no pictures with dates in those years will be displayed. Also in the View menu are the Sort options. If you select any sort other by roll then the rolls will not be displayed. You can also select ascending or descending. If you select ascending the the roils and their contents will be listed oldest to newest. So the last roll imported will be at the bottom.
You can experiment with those options to see which one will work best for you.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Help! I have 4 different computers that I plug my iPhone 4 into from time to time. I just synced it with a laptop that I haven't plugged into for a long while, and it overloaded my phone with a ton of pictures from the computer that I did not want or need on my phone. When I went to PHOTOS on my iTunes, and checked "sync checked folders only", it says it will replace the photos on my phone. I'm not sure this is what I want...I don't want to lose the photos on my phone. I have over 3000 on there!
You can sync photos and itunes content with one and only one computer at a time. When you sync to another, it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

When I am trying to import pictures from my iphone to PC, I get the message'No new pictures of videos were found on this device'. There are lots of pictures which i can see on the iphone. I have a 4S. Is there a way to get around that?
It sounds like you are using an application to import. You can do it manually.
Start > Computer (on the right) > scroll to the bottom and you will see your iPhone under Portable Devices > Open it and you will see a Drive, open that and there will be a DCIM folder. That is where your photos will be (There may be other folders each holding photos). -

Adobe Applications Manage rin Yosemite Kaput. Advisor directs me here. Another Adobe Run-around. CS5 Extended still crashing with Eyedropper when moved to desktop.
I'm sorry to report that I've not yet figured out how to go about this 'Cleaning'. I've run the cleaner on the Applications Manager, then attempted to reinstall the downloaded Applications Manager and again I get the same message as above. I attempted to trash the Applications Folder and rerun the installer. That did not work. I then moved the downloaded Applications folder to the utilities folder and restarted CS5>Updates. It reports, again it can't find/or is damaged Applications Manager. I will now take the folder out of the trash and return it to the Utilities folder.
If I run the Recovery tool on Photoshop will I uninstall Photoshop or will it only 'clean' it. Does it mean I will lose any third party plugins?
I do thank you for your continued support. This is the first time a requested answer/suggestion to my troubles has been promptly be addressed by 'Adobe'. I am also pleased I can reply to an email to aid in resolving questions.

If you post a material document to place the stock into the interum storage type try LT06 and use the document as a refrence, you will need to maintain the LE quantity in your material masters and the system will automaticaly propose the correct number of SU when you click "palletization".
if you do not maintain the LE you can enter the qty as (for example) 60 X 3000EA / 1 x 2500EA (or whatever unit of measure you use)
This is very standard for WM and easy to do once the configuration is in place and you learn the transactions.

You want to always use iPhoto with a default referenced library (the preference to copy imported item to the iPhoto library is checked) ad then delete the source photos

Is it possible to put the photos on my iPhone 5 onto my MacBook Pro? The photos that I am trying to do this with we're not taken from the phone. They were imported from a computer. When I open image capture it only shows the photos that were taken from my phone and not the other ones. Please help. Thanks.
It is not possible to put synched photos on your iPhone from one computer into another.

Well of course you can recover them by using iCloud, when I deleted some pictures I simply used iCloud and it recovered all of my old photos....

How recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

When capturing images from a Nikon D600, they show in Bridge, but when clicked to load into CS6,an error message says that it is the wrong type of document, evne jpeg files. This is a NEW frustration.
Nikon raw files would open up in Adobe Camera Raw and so should jpegs.
If you select one in Bridge and give the command "Ctrl r" (Windows), what happens?
Also what is the version of ACR in the title bar?
