Making comments more visible on a print out

I like how Dreamweaver highlights my comments in yellow
when you are looking at it on the computer. Is there a
"preference" I can set that does the same when I print out the
code?
It would make it much easier to find a particular piece of
code if the preceding comment/documentation were highlighted on a
printout.
Thanks in advance.

To check image resolution and lots more info use Acrobat Pro preflight feature.
There's a few options in Acrobat to deal with your hyperlink question, you can use a text tool to change the colou of the text or indeed add an underline.
It may be that the hyperlinks in your PDF are being automatically recognized as such by acrobat/reader.
(to check go to edit>preferences>general, create links from URLs)
in that case whenprinting the doc, the links don't have actual print info to print.
Or the link is an actual link but has been set to an invisble border to be used, you could change the properties of the link using the link too, to hnage the border to an underline for example.
If unsure, share a sample pdf somewhere, so we can have a look.

    In Windows, there is a way in the OS to make the cursor more visible (i.e a heavier black vertical line). I find this very helpful.

  • "Visible, but no printing"

    Hey guys,
    I'm new to this stuff and want to create a form in acrobat, that allows me to enter a password (being visible without stars) which is visible in the saved pdf, but not visible when being printed out.
    Does anyone have any idea how to accomplish that?
    Thanks in advance.

    Well, then you are actually in the wrong forum and should post in the Acrobat Scripting forum.
    But since we're now in the process:
    Go to the Advanced > Document Processing > Set Document Actions…
    Find the "Document Will Save" and hit "Edit".
    Paste this script:
    var f = this.getField("myField");
    if (f.value) {
        f.display = display.noView;
    else {
            f.display = display.visible;
    Where you substitute the "myField" with the name of your fake password field.
    Hit "Ok" and then "Ok".
    Now save you document with a suffix _master.
    When anything is typed into the password field, this field will be hidden when you save the document, so ALWAYS do a "Save as…"

  • Po print out after making changes in po

    hi experts,
    we r facing a problem ,after making a po when we edit it for additon of some more materials  and take the print out ,only item that were there in po intially are coming , it is not printing all the items that are that are added i po, but po print out is coming ok ,it is showing alll the items,can anybody help why it is coming like this .<b>points will be awarded surely</b>

    Hi
    In Message determination for PO, you have an output type (eg.,NEU) for printing the changed PO.
    This has to be created(if not maintained) and maintained in <b>"Fine tuned message control"</b> in SPRO and it should be <b>ticked</b> in the last column.
    Try this and it should work.
    Pls Revert and Reward.

  • How can i print out more that one invoice ?

    Hello All,
    How can i print out more that one invoice?
    Regards,
    Luke

    Hi,
    When you are in billing document & click on "issue output to", you get a window having tab"print options"
    click on this by selecting your output type. In the feild "Number of messages" you enter how many times you want the print to be printed.
    This will help you.
    Additionally you can also write logic in your print program if you want the print to be fired some fixed number of times. (eg 4 times), this can be done by your ABAPer.
    Hopw this helps you

  • CUPS: Printer always waits for more data, and finally times out.

    I apologise if this should be categorised as" system administration" rather than "installation". The reason why I chose this category was that the error happened right after installing and setting up cups, so it should not have to do with fine-tuning or be the result of a particularly specific situation.
    I have had a novel kind of problem with printing since I first installed Arch Linux:
    Whenever I print - regardless of application -, my OKI 431 printer will always wait for more data after having completed the print job (as shown in its small display, where it keeps saying 'DATA' even after the last printed page has come out). After 25 to 30 seconds of such waiting, it will print out two pages, the first one empty, the second one saying:
    ERROR:
    timeout
    OFFENDING COMMAND:
    timeout
    STACK:
    The printer display then goes back to saying 'ONLINE'. If I print several documents WITHIN this 25 to 30 sec delay, i.e. in fast succession, I only get the two pages once, i.e. after the last of these jobs has been printed.
    What seems to be related to that is the status message on the "Printers" page of CUPS' Web interface: It says
    Idle - "Sending data to printer."
    all the time, even though I am not printing anything. (And this was the same before the update.)
    Printing is otherwise completely fine - the one practical problem is I have an ever-growing pile of empty pages mixed with pages containing the above error message next to my printer, i.e. two extra pages after each printout. (The one workaround I have found so far is quickly switching off the printer after within the 25 - 30 secs time window.) I have tried to google this problem with various search term combinations, but have not been able to find pages specific to this problem anywhere.
    What I have tried out was wiping the /etc/cups directory, updating cups, adding the printer again using lpadmin, and setting it as the default printer with lpoptions (both as explained in the Arch Wiki page). This has not changed anything relevant about the behaviour.
    (The one effect this has had is that pointing some browsers (Opera, Dillo) to localhost:631 now gets a "Bad request" response from CUPS, but on most browsers (Mozilla, Qupzilla, Midori, Google Chrome, Lynx) it gets the normal Web interface. But this is probably not related to the problem.)
    I will try to give some basic context:

  • Would like a participant to answer essay questions with capacity to print out, but not be visible for next participant.

    As the title says, I would like the participants to answer open, reflective questions and then be able to print answers.  Alternatively, each participant would have their own version of the course with all their questions answered which they could return to with a password.  Ideas?

    I'm thinking of using the Notes function as the responses need only to
    be seen and saved by the participant not by some offline teacher.  I'm
    also going to explore the Short Answer to see exactly how short it must
    be.  Finally, if all else fails, I might be able to attach a doc or pdf
    file to the course which each person could upload and enter text into,
    save, and later print out.
    Thanks for the info about LMS.  That is more expensive than my client
    wants to go.

  • How to print out document list items (and with all comments!)

    Hi all,
    I am wondering how to get a good printout of document lists.
    In a web application I have some document list items and the users are adding many comments in it, so that the document list item doenst show all in the initial view, but scroll buttons to navigate up and down.
    I was surprised to read that the standard print functionality doesnt support document items.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/43/68ce8391886e47e10000000a422035/content.htm
    How can I print out a list of all document list items with all comments?
    Ist there a workaround?
    thanks in advance for sharing your experiences, br, Michael

    Thanks guys for trying to help me...
    Gabriel, I not wanna do "a lot of trix" to get this out of iCal when it should be solved by iCal (from my point of view).
    Dancing Brook, Yes I hope we will see that in the future. I am convinced that there is many of us out there who want to see that function in iCal, even if they not really missed it yet.
    I have already sent a request to iCal feedback (hope they noted). Maybe they will if we are many doing so...

    This can be the result of selecting the wrong driver. An older, unsupported laser printer will sometimes work with the generic Postscript driver.

  • How do I print out more than the first page on longer emails.

    If an email is two or three pages long the Firefos print instruction only prints out the first page and lists it as 1 of 1

    On your iMac or on your iPhone?
    If on your Mac, which version of iPhoto do you have? The Print themes changed between the versions.

  • I can't seem to Print out the Object I made in this Map. Any ideas?

    Well here's my problem I'm trying to print out the Key's and Value's associated in the following MutliMap.
    The code formating seems to screw up < and >. My datastructure is a Multi Map, the Key is a String Object and
    the Value associated with that String Key is an ArrayList of an object of type Message I defined below.
    Map<String,List<Message>> = new HashMap<String,List<Message>>();
    Here's my code for where I try to Print everything (in the function print() ) .
    The Print just either prints out the KEY and no value, if I take out my ((Message)value) cast, it will print the Message class, like
    43343@Message because I'm assuming its wondering how to Print something that is an object I defined.
    Thats why I defined my own print function and I also override the toString() function but both don't work it seems.

    }I'm correctly populating my Messages sent to me from the client, I tested it and it works but iterating over them once the messages are inserted into the map is my issue.
    I'm not getting an error, just no output for the values
    here's how I'm adding the Messages to the MessageDB
    //This string is coming from a client
    String str = in.readLine();
    // creating a scanner to parse
    Scanner scanner = new Scanner(str);
    Scanner scannerPop = new Scanner(str);
    //Creating a new message to hold information
    Message msg = new Message();
    //place Scanner object here:
    MessageParser.printTokens(scanner);
    MessageParser.populateMessage(scannerPop, msg);
    System.out.println("-------PRINTING MESSAGE------\n");
    msg.print();
    System.out.println("----------END PRINT----------\n");
    System.out.println("-------Accessing data from Map----\n");
    MessageDB testDB = new MessageDB();
    testDB.add(msg);
    testDB.print();I know this code is ugly, I should make accessor and modifer functions for my Message class but for now I'm just trying to see if I this method is even going to work then I'm going to go about making it more protected.
    Also here is my output:
    that long mess is the incoming string from the client, and im parsing it up into tokens and assigning my message object certain values.

    -------Accessing data from Map----
    The map contains the following associations:
    Serial (key): 446As you see it is printing the correct Serial, but it seems like it isn't even entering into the printing the value associated with that key.
    NOTE: if you need more code I can supply my parsing functions as well.
    Thanks!

    NOTE: the code formating screws up the < >
    it should be HashMap<String,List<Message>>();

    Thanks Good Idea :)
    Heres a small version of the same problem:
    MainTest
    package ds;
    public class MainTest {
         public static void main(String []args)
              //create a new message object, assign it some values.
              //note: Serial is the key to the map.
              Message m1 = new Message();
              m1.Identifer = "Test Message";
              m1.Serial = "222";
              m1.Agent = "AgentTest";
              m1.Identifer = "IdentiferTest";
              //test to see if it assigned right.
              m1.print();
              //insert into a map
              MessageDB dbTest = new MessageDB();
              dbTest.add(m1);
              //print key/values
              dbTest.print();
    }Here is the 2 classes that I use, Message and MessageDB.
    The problem is in the MesesageDB i'm getting the following error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.ArrayList cannot be cast to ds.Message
         at ds.MessageDB.print(MessageDB.java:43)
         at ds.MainTest.main(MainTest.java:28)
    package ds;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.HashMap;
    import java.util.Iterator;

    import java.util.Set;
    import java.io.*;
    //this class should store all the Messages or "Events" and
    //you can access them based on their Serial key.
    public class MessageDB
         //database to hold the information
         //     holds the Alerts/messages
         Map<String, List<Message>> AlertMap;
         //Constructor
         MessageDB()
              AlertMap = new HashMap<String, List<Message>>();
         //print, outputs the contents of the hashMap
         public void print()
            //want to print out the Key and all the Messages
              //associated with that key
              Set keys = AlertMap.keySet();          // The set of keys in the map.
              Iterator keyIter = keys.iterator();
              System.out.println("The map contains the following associations:");
              while (keyIter.hasNext()) {
                    Object key = keyIter.next();  // Get the next key.
                    Object value = AlertMap.get(key);  // Get the value for that key.
                    System.out.println( "Serial (key): " + key + "\n");
                    System.out.println("value: " + ((Message)value) + "\n");
                    //((Message)value).print();
         ///adds a message (value) to the map, along with the key.
         void add(Message msg)
              //getting the position of the List by EntityID if avaiable
              List<Message> AlertList = AlertMap.get(msg.Serial);
              //checking to see if there is a unique Key already in the Map.
              if (AlertList == null)
                   //if there isnt a key in the map, add a new key, and a new List mapping
                   //to the key EntityID;
                     AlertList = new ArrayList<Message>();
                     AlertMap.put(msg.Serial, AlertList);
                     AlertList.add(msg);
              else
              //adding message to List
                   AlertList.add(msg);
    }Here is the message class you'll need to use to compile:
    package ds;
         public class Message {
              String Identifer;
              String Serial;
              String Node;
              String NodeAlias;
              String Manager;
              String Agent;
              Message()
                    Identifer = "";
                    Serial = "";
                    Node = "";
                    NodeAlias = "";
                    Manager = "";
                    Agent = "";
              void print()
                   System.out.println("Identifer: " + this.Identifer + '\n'
                             + "Serial: " + this.Serial + '\n'
                             + "Node: " + this.Node + '\n'
                             + "NodeAlias: " + this.NodeAlias + '\n'
                             + "Manager: "  + this.Manager + '\n'
                             + "Agent: " + this.Agent + '\n');
              public String toString()
                   return ("Identifer: " + this.Identifer + '\n'
                             + "Serial: " + this.Serial + '\n'
                             + "Node: " + this.Node + '\n'
                             + "NodeAlias: " + this.NodeAlias + '\n'
                             + "Manager: "  + this.Manager + '\n'
                             + "Agent: " + this.Agent + '\n');
         }It doesn't like this line as I suspected:
    System.out.println("value: " + ((Message)value) + "\n");

  • Some comments on PDFs are not printed

    Hello,
    I've noticed that when making comments in Acrobat XI Pro, some of the comments are not printed as they are shown on the screen. For example, on one document I have a text box with two lines of text in it, but only the border of the text box and the second line of text prints. The first line is blank. I tried different printers and different documents, but it still happens. It's not always a text box, but usually text is omitted. I made sure "Documents and Comments" are selected to print.
    The only way to get these to print is to turn on "Print as image". I DO NOT want this to be a fix though. I'd like to be able to use the printer color options as it worked in the past with Acrobat 9.
    Can someone please help me? Thanks for your time.

    Hi
    You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps given below might help you to fix your issue.
    1) Go to Device Manager and uninstall the click on + symbol next to Keyboard then uninstall the standard keyboard then restart your unit and check.
    2) Go to HP website and update the Bios on the unit.
    3) Click start type Command Prompt check if all the numbers & alphabets works fine in this screen if not you might have to replace the keyboard.
    If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the part replaced.
    If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the part yourself, please let me know.
    Let us know how it goes!

  • Can notes be included in PSE5 print outs?

    I don't seem to be able to find any print out options that will include printing the notes for a photo. Have I overlooked something? I am using Photoshop Elements 5.
    Thanks!
    Sue

    If your printing from the elements 5 editor, choose show more options in the
    print dialog.
    There are two options:
    File name: the name of your file
    Caption: prints the text you enter in the File>File Info>Description>Caption field.
    The caption is printed below and outside of the photo.
    In the print dialog box  you may have to choose custom size and size your image in
    print dialog box in order to see the caption when you print.
    Size your image by unchecking center image and then move the image around until you
    see the corner handles. Then you can scale the image smaller until the caption is visible.
    Then recheck the center image box.

  • Halftones in layout print out wrong

    When I place a bitmap halftone in the layout it looks fine, but prints out with extra patterns. It didn't do this is PageMaker. How can I preserve the halftone for printing?

    rob day wrote:
    I'm not sure about that. My 1200 dpi GCC postscript printer will let me output any lpi—it simply starts dropping gray levels as the lpi gets too high.
    There's a formula for calculating gray levels: (dpi/lpi) squared + 1 =  gray levels, so a 100 line screen from a 1200 dpi printer can yield a max of 169levels of gray. If I want all 256 levels the lpi has to be 75, but I might decide to trade off the visibility of the halftone mark for fewer greylevels and go for 100+.
    I used to use a 1200 dpi Xante to do exactly what the OP is doing at my first job. you can set all sorts of numbers, but I bet if you try printing the same image at 5 or 10 line increments between 60 and 140 (throw in 133 just for sport since that was once a common screen setting), then measure the real screen produced, you won't actually see more than two or three real changes. I actually did that once for my boss who was convinced that a 65 line screen worked better than a 70 (don't ask).
