Making Cursor less Sensitive

Is there a way to make the cursor less sensitive? For example, if the cursor rest on the application task bar for a few minutes, then one moves the cursor, the entire window moves. Or sometimes one is viewing a web page in tab and the cursor rest on the tab bar for a few minutes, then one moves the cursor, the page opens in a new window.
It can be annoying.

Thank you Dave and the Ghost for responding. I am using a laptop and based on you guys suggestion I think I have seen the problem. I have drag lock and tap selected.
However, these are features that I deemed to be necessary. I have been using laptops for quite a while, especially the tap feature, from my first laptop the 3400. In fact, that's all I can do on my 3400 since the selector is broken. (I still have it, the screen is great, even got it using wireless to surf the web. It's such a great design icon.)
So I will mark this as resolved and just have to watch how much pressure I apply to the trackpad when I go to move the cursor. I would never have though of this...smile. Now the annoyance is gone. I am sure Apple will add tailoring in the future.

How can I make double clicking the space bar to make a period less sensitive

Hi! When I double click the space bar, it makes a period, which I love. What drives me crazy is that it thinks I'm double clicking the space bar quite frequently, so it'll insert a period in the middle of the sentence. How can I make my space bar less sensitive? It sounds like the space key is getting worn out. You may need to get the device exchanged under warranty if it's less than a year old.

Touchpad settings can be changed in control panel -> mouse -> last tab (advanced)
Now click on the button (Advanced settings)
Here you will see all available options for touchpad.
The touchpad sensitivity could be changed there.

Is the iPad Air screen less sensitive to touch?

I just got an iPad Air, and notice that it's less sensitive to touch (as compared to my iPad 2 and iPhone 5, both running iOS 7).
I am used to touching the screen ever, ever so gently (just brushing against it with my fingertip), in order to scroll pages etc. This no-longer works with the iPad Air. I need to have more of my finger in contact with the screen in order for it to register a touch.
At first I thought it was because of the protective film that they put on when I bought the iPad, but I asked them to remove it, and it was still the same. (Also, I have a screen protector on my iPhone, and it's no less sensitive to touch as a result.)
I went back to the store and tried another iPad Air, and it was exactly the same as my one: less sensitive. The store employees concurred: it's a significant difference.
Do they have a bad batch at this store, or is the iPad Air screen just "different"?

I wanted to buy an ipad air to replace my ipad 2 but the one I wanted was (luckily) sold out.
Yesterday I tested the air from a collegue and I noticed the screen was SUBSTANTIALLY less sensitive than the screen of my ipad 2 when using my stylus.
I use Stylus R US especially for I annotate and with the air this did not work well at all... Half of the time there was no contact registered so underying certain parts of the text was a disaster...
Just working with the finger all whent OK... Just fear that another app I use a lot (notes +) will have same problem.
On the Ipad 4 also retina all goes *** smooth as on my ipad 2...
Is this a fault of a specific ipad air series? Or is this normal?? If it is I think this is truelly a huge flaw and I cannot see how not manny people using the ipad for notetaking etc did not notice this...

MARS: Tweaking rules on subnets internal to firewall to be less sensitive

The MARS alerts are firing as rapidly on the internal networks as they do for external networks. Is there a global command to make the MARS less sensitive to hits from the internal subnets, or does a rule have to be customized? Thanks again.

You could create a MARS drop rule to ignore messages where the src = internal network(s). That is certainly not how I would recommend tuning your environment, but it will cut down on the number of incidents;-) It sounds to me like the devices reporting into MARS could use some tuning.

Touch screen less sensitive since iOS 5. Help.

Hi, have you noticed how the screen is less sensitive when you type or play games?
I think I touched the right place (don't always have my eyes on the actual place where I touch, like everyone) but the screen doesn't recognizes it. I've only asked 2 other people and we all noticed the same thing. Since the iOS 5 update I make more mistakes typing, my games don't always register my moves, when I change keyboard language I have to be very very very precise where I touch or else it won't do it.
My screen is mint, my iPhone 4 never fell, I'm up to date in all updates and games. It really is since iOS 5. My friends too. How about you? And can we fix this to bring it back like it was before? It's really annoying to have to repeat my actions all the time.

Same here, since updating my ip4 to ios5 the touch screen seems much worse and inaccurate.
When playing videos it is now very hard to select and skip through the video, I'm there tapping the screen about ten times trying to fast forward through a video.
Also typing is much worse, keeps hitting the space bar instead of letters and the wrong letters alot.
Was perfect with ios4 but now it is truly apauling...

That's a global setting and will affect all programs. If you don't have this trouble in other programs, this adjustment may not be very helpful.
I do find that Mozilla's programs have a subtly different look'n'feel (gecko?) and cursor positioning is slightly different than in Microsoft's programs. You tend to have to click precisely on black text, not just somewhere nearby. This needs better aiming, which sounds a bit like it may be your issue.
Slowing the mouse/pointer down may help, so long as it doesn't make everything else intolerably sluggish.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it should appear. When shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on.

Airport/Wirless card is less sensitive & less powerful?

I just bought an used 15" Aluminum 1.5/512mb powerbook to replace my 15" Titanium 550/768. Everything seems good except the wireless function. Places I used to get stable signal of the old machine, the new machine never seems to be stable. The loading time takes 3 times longer than the old one, sometimes even stop loading. The titanium one can browse the net with very low signal, but the new one CAN'T. A chinese website that I pay to get download, the old machine has no trouble displays and searches on it, but the new machine just give me "nothing find" message. I put the two machines next to each other to do all the testing at the same time; again, old one searches okay, chinese site pops out okay; but new one just never ending loading and with "nothing find" message. Can anyone tell me what is going on with the new machine? Since the machine is newer, wouldn't the wireless card be more sensitive and powerful? Please let me know how to fix it. Thanks.

First, welcome to the discussions.
There have been some reports in the older Powerbooks of loose Airport Extreme cards as well as Loose Antenna Connections.
In the Newer Powerbooks the Airport extreme cards are soldered in and that just leaves us with loose antenna wires.

made
to these fields need confirmation before being allowed, T-code
FK08/FK09), but when I try to change them for the vendor using IMG(that
is SPRO\ IMG\ Financial Acc.\ acc. receivable..\ vendor\ master\ prep.
for creating..\ DEFINE SENSITIVE FIELDS FOR DUAL CONTROL\), I cant find
these fields from LFBW among the allowed fields.
Is there any way to add these field ti this customizing?

LFBW table fields are NOT defined as Sensitive fields. However there are couple of discussions on Addition of a new field. Check the links below and see if you can achieve your requirement. Else raise a message with SAP.

Making colors less vibrant

I am using the rgb color mode and want to make some colors less vibrant. In Photoshop I might desaturate with the sponge tool. What are some of the ways I can do this in cs5?'

Desaturating a color means "dirtying" it with its opposite color. In subtractive process (CMYK mode) adding the opposite color grays and darkens the result. In additive process (RGB mode) adding the opposite color grays and lightens the result.
So for example: Suppose the color you want to desaturate in RGB is yellow. If it's fully yellow, that means R and G are maxed out at 255. Adding B will desaturate it, but will also move it toward white, so as it becomes desatuarted, it also becomes tinted. To compensate, reduce R and G together. The result will be a "grayer yellow" or a "yellowish gray." If the "yellowish gray" tends toward greenish, reduce G slightly relative to the R.
Whether you do this in the Color palette sliders, the Edit>Edit Colors>Adjust Color Balance dialog, the Hue, Saturation, and Brightness sliders in Edit>Edit Colors>Recolor Artwork dialog, the Intensity slider of the Edit>Edit Colors>Saturate dialog, or by dragging the marker in the Color Picker leftward, you are doing the same thing.

Is the new iPod classic's scroll wheel less sensitive?

I have an iPod video that had a silicone skin on it. When I put the it on the new iPod classic I recently bought, it can't sense my scrolling. Same issue when I put it in my armband that has a plastic cover. Curious to know how many other people have or have had this issue. Wondering if there's any way to change the sensitivity on the iPod.

I think the topic starter means iPod 3G not the second generation iPhone 3G.
But sorry, I don't know. I never used the new USB-cable for the iPod 3G, I always used Firewire.

Do screen protectors make screen less sensitive?

I'm going to purchase the iPhone 3g, have no iphone currently. I would like feedback from anyone who has utilized one of those protective clear skins/films on their iPhone display. Is it worth it to cover the screen? Or does it hinder screen's sensitivity?

I have been using the Crystal one that is sold at the Apple stores pretty much since day one. So- I am happy with the responsiveness of the screen with the cover, but I don't really have anything to compare it too. I know that the screen is suppose to be able to stand up to daily use without any sort of protection, but I just felt better having something on it, and then keeping the iPhone in my pocket with keys or just thrown into my purse.

Making cursor more visible

In Windows, there is a way in the OS to make the cursor more visible (i.e a heavier black vertical line). I find this very helpful.
Is there a way to change the cursor to make it more visible in Mac?
