Making custom interactive button question

hello forumers
im trying to create my own cusotm btn in indesign and when i open up the library and try to drag drop it,or choose the option its greyed out.
when i try to drag drop i get that black symbol,and i also see that the library panel has a white lock wiht 52,can i unlock that or do something?

ill explain a bit,ive made my own button from ps,and then i import it to indesign.cos id like my one(custom to be apart of the button library.)
but again im getting the same kind of responce from the btns panel.i cant drag it into the library panel.is there maybe a tutorial i can see on this?

You can add interactions using the Interactions panel -- visible to the right in your screenshot, just above the Properties panel.
If that doesn't answer your question, please reply back with more details about what you're trying to do. What do you mean by "custom interaction"?

you need to save the IRR as an APEX developer during the runtime of your application. Just make your IRR changes and save it as default.

Form Alignment issue in table: Custom submit button

Yesterday as I was putting together a "check availability"
form within a horizontal table, I ran into difficulties getting the
form to vertically align in the middle, it kept aligning to the
top. I was able to correct the problem using the following CSS:

Now this morning I was switching the generic "submit" button
with a custom gif button using this code within the form:
<input type="image" name="submit" src="image.jpg"
width="110" height="20">
This worked fine, but every part of the form is aligning to
the middle correctly except the custom button which is sticking to
the top. I'm completely lost on how to resolve this issue. If
anyone has any information on how I can fix the button to align
with the rest of the form I would greatly appreciate your help. I
am a beginner at adjusting code.

How to modify standard or custom Interactive Reports

Hello everyone!
Is there a possibility to modify SAP standard Interactive Reports? Where can this be done?
Also if I create a new custom Interactive Report using Wizard in WebUI I don't find any transaction where I can modify it. Should I use some SAP GUI transaction to do this? Or even BEX Analyzer? Perhaps there is SAP Documentation about how to do it but I wasn't able to find it.

To do this, you need to be logged in with the ANALYTICSPRO business role (standard). Once you access the web UI you will have the option to Search reports. Doing this will show you both the standard reports and the ones modified by you. If you want to modify the SAP delivered reports, select the report, click the Copy button and then rename it etc. You then walk through the wizard and make the changes you need.
You can also modify the ones you created by clicking on Edit.
Once you have created your new reports, go to t-code ordywb, then make sure the Show Custom Reports checkbox is clicked. This will show you the identifier for your custom report - this is what you put against your logical link in the nav bar profile to enable the users to run the reports.

Use the Optimize PDF command in Acrobat, it gives you more control. I think it's under the Advanced menu in Acrobat 9 Pro and File > Save As > Optimized PDF in Acrobat X Pro.
You might try playing around with different settings. You can also click the Audit Space button at the upper right to see if its from images or other things causing the file size problem.
Unfortunately, InDesign doesn't write interactivity in a very optimized way. You get better results with buttons, for example, creating them in Acrobat Pro and using the Duplicate command to duplicate them across multiple pages.

Indesign CS6 - Interactive Buttons - Destination links changing when opened on another computer

I have encountered a bit of a problem with Indesign CS6.
I have a customer who has created an multi-chapter Indesign file which has interactive buttons within the each chapter in the book. These buttons are linking to each chapter. E.G., Buttons on the first page in chapter one, might link to the first page of Chapter three. This has been done by setting a destination, to the file and specifying the page number within the Interactive elements dialogue box. The client has created an interactive PDF out of this.
When I have opened the file on my side, all of the interactive destination elements have reverted to Page 1 of Chapter 1 in every single chapter (this is the first file in the book). Obviously, this means me relinking all of the locations again (there are over 2000 in the file that would need to be fixed).
Now, I am opening the file on a Windows PC in Windows 7 using CS6. However, the client has created the files on a Mac. Which could potentially be an issue maybe (I am testing this).
However, has anyone experienced this before, and is there a workaround?

Making custom non-standard components aware of custom look and feels.

Hello all.
Maybe the subject of this post could also be the opposite: "Making custom look and feels aware of non-standard custom components". I'm not sure.
If I code a new custom component (extending JComponent, or extending the UI delegate of a standard component) and pretend it to be laf aware then I must create the corresponding UI delegate for each laf, like it happens to be with standard swing components. But I'm not sure it is feasible to create the UI delegates for all unknown existing custom lafs.
On the other side, if I create a custom laf then I will also create a custom UI delegate for each standard component, but I can not create UI delegate for all unknown existing custom components.
The point here is that standard components and standard lafs are universally known, while custom components (or custom ui delegates) and custom lafs are not.
So the question is: How does a swing developer deal with the case of a new custom component that will be used in an unknown custom laf?
For instance:

I suggest if you want to make your custom component look & feel aware, you design the way it displays around the l & f of other components that are part of j2se and have l&f implementations.

IDCS4: Major bug creating interactive buttons

I have a number of IDCS3 files with interactive buttons which jump to a specific page of the document using bookmarks. These buttons no longer work when the file is opened in IDCS4.
In CS4, the button has a "Go to text anchor" action applied however the Text Anchor pop-up below is greyed out and says None. All the Bookmarks that I've created are present and correct. It would appear that CS4 is ignoring page bookmarks and will now only work with text anchors.
This bug is also very easy to recreate with a new document in CS4:
1. Create a new two page document.
2. Go to page two and add a bookmark.
3. Go to page one, create a button and add the "Go to Anchor" action.
4. The Text Anchor pop-up should show the bookmark that was added it step 2 but it remains greyed-out.
I've submitted this to Adobe and reverted back to using CS3 for any interactive work.

Thanks very much for confirming the bug and for the workaround however this is a lot of work for my existing projects and easier to simple update them using CS3.
Hmmmm... now, your comment "...bookmarks have never been recognized as part of making buttons." - try telling that to IDCS3, it even indicates that you've linked to a bookmark when you add a "Go to Anchor" behaviour to a button. I found this method more flexible and, to my simple way of thinking, more logical - a Bookmark goes to to a page in a document while a Hyperlink goes to a URL. For new CS4 projects I will now have to use the Hyperlink Destination (Type: Page) option instead. Oh well...
So the problem isn't insurmountable for new projects but is still a bug in that it "breaks" legacy CS3 files opened in CS4 - and that's the argument I'll focus on when I hear back from Adobe.

Hi Everyone! (Work on Tiger/CS3/Acrobat 8.0)
I am making a PDF with interactive button, (behavior- open file/ all my files are in the same folder and I doesn't move it) When a make all my button and export in PDF it's work, but I made some mistakes (text fault only) in the Indesign and when I export again in PDF the button don't work anymore... I doesn't make any changes in the button option, and select the same option for my pdf (Acrobat 6, Interactive Element/link all). My document have over 50 pages with about 10 buttons per pages... and please don't tell my I have to do it again!!! Thanks everyone!!

Problem with Interactive Buttons

Hi all,
I seem to be having trouble with Interactive Buttons.
InDesign CS5 - Version 7.0.3
I create a document with 2 pages (Facing Pages is checked).
I add a text box to each page, Page one's text box says "1" and page two's says "2".
Page two's text box I right click and select Interactive | New Hyperlink Destination - Type: Page, Page: 2, Zoom Setting: Fixed
On Page one I add a sample button from the buttons panel.
I select the button and then display the buttons panel.
I remove the default "Go To URL" action and add an action of "Go To Destination" using the Event of "On Release"
When I preview the page from the "Preview" panel, I click "Play" and can see the first page and the button (great), but when I click the button, nothing happens.
The mouse changes as I mouse over the button, the state of the button changes to the rollover state... all seems well but it doesn't actually perform the action of going to the next page.
I have tried exporting to PDF and making sure that "Include Bookmarks" and "References" is checked as well as making sure that "Create Tagged PDF" is checked but the exported pdf doesn't run the action either!
What am I doing wrong? It seemed so easy when I looked at some video tutorials on how to do it.
Any help would be much appreciated.

If I choose Export... I cannot see an option for exporting to PDF (Interactive) no matter which options or types of PDF I select.
However, my PDF opens in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro - is that the issue? Even if I open it in Adobe Reader 9.3 it doesn't work.

No custom interactions on HUD

Download Flash Catalyst Beta 2 yesterday, running this on a Mac OS X. I imported a PSD file from Photoshop CS3 and defined some of the images as buttons. However the HUD it does not seem to show the Application and Custom Interactions with these buttons. Is there a way in which they can be disabled / enabled, or have they move from Beta 1 ?

In Beta 2 they moved the action interactions into the main panel menu on the righ.

Event behind Custom Telephony button

Hi All,
We are using CRM 2007 integrated with backend ISU. We customized the Toolbar profile and incorporated a new Telephony Button ( not used any of the available buttons due to some issues). This button is supposed to provide broadly same functionality as End Button -which creates Interaction record in the background and refreshes and resets the Identification screen.
The Standard End Button which we have -resets and refreshes in both cases , be it CRM or ISU called screen
Issue is if we are into a ISU screen (using Transaction launcher) and try to use this Custom END Button -the click doesnt reset or creates IR -why?
However if we are in standard CRM Views-it works fine.
Pls help !!
Just for clarity- we are having different "End buttons" so as to categorise differently the Interaction records created .

There are 3 main IC events triggered when one clicks on END button:
InteractionEndRequest
InteractionEnded
InteractionAfterEnd
Set a break-point in method CL_CRM_IC_EVENT_SRV->IF_CRM_IC_EVENT_SRV~RAISE, around line 40, on
call method lv_listener->handle_event( event ).
Then check who subscribed to those events when you hit SAP standard END button. There is apparently one missing subscriber for your custom button.
