Making Doubled image

I am trying to produce a film with the effect of double vision. Any ideas on how to do this?

Double vision as one might see things after a good whack on the head or when drunk?
Copy the clip and place the copy above itself on the Timeline (shift option drag) then use the basic motion controls in the Viewer window to position the two copies as needed. Add some blur to each. You'll also need to lower the opacity for both clips, particularly for the upper clip ... or experiment with different composite modes on the upper clip. For realism, you may want to consider keyframing the basic motion and blur to vary throughout the duration and also maybe keyframe the distort controls, varying as you go.

  • "input/output error' when making disc image from DVD

I've had problems installing Logic, and a Pro Apps Genius at Applecare suggested I try making an image of the problematic DVD (Audio Content 1) and then trying an install that way.
While I can make an image of the Install disc to my desktop fine, the Audio Content 1 disc reports an "input/output error".
This means I'm unable to copy the disc and then successfully install my Logic Studio.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your answer.
Yes, I thought that might be the case - but I'd taken my Mac and Logic disks to a Genius bar, and the 'Genius' had said he'd fixed the issue. I just wish he'd explained what he did and why he didn't replace the faulty disk(s)!
But is there any way around having the claim a disk, now I'm living abroad and my 'warrantee' has run out? It's going to be a pain in the fundament trying to claim a replacement set.

  • Photoshop crashes when I try and save for web and devices. Making the image size smaller does not help.

I'm trying to make a lopping .gif from an animation that I made. It's 147 total frames. It's crashed about 6 times now every time I either try and Save for Web or even just save the document on my desktop so in case it crashes I can reopen PS and recover it. Making the image size smaller (original size is 1920 x 1080 with resolution 72) does not help, it still makes the *ding* error when I attempt to save. I made the image more than half of the original size and the Save for Web box actually came up that time, but when I tried clicking save it said there was an error and PS crashed without warning.

Look at the crash report for your Photoshop crashes see what they show

  • Adobe Prints Text as Double Image

When I print pdf documents online[specifically http://content.educationdirectonline.com/course/VET010/online/vet010_088001.pdf ] the text prints out fuzzy, with a gray double image of the text right behind it, almost like a shadow. I've tried turning off the printer(Dell Photo Printer 720 with new black ink cartridge and full colored) to reset the cache, but it hasn't helped. The problem seems to be specific to Adobe, because I have printed text documents with notepad and they turn out fine.
Also, I have tried changing scaling options, text rounding options, and even tried printing the pdf as an image, none of which have effected the problem I am experiencing.
If anyone would help me solve this mystery it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to read through this.

It seems to print fine for me. I would suspect that you may need to update your printer driver.
What version of Reader are you using?

  • "Authentication error", making disk image

I'm trying to make a disk image of my OS X boot disk, as an emergency backup. I'm booting from the Installation CD that came with my Mac Pro, and using Disk Utility. I select my boot drive, click New Image, and tell it to save to an external firewire drive, compressed and encrypted. It starts and quickly errors out, with "Authentication error." What does this mean?
I've used 250 GB of the 500 GB on my boot drive, and my external drive is 120 GB. I'd rather tell it to skip some files to save space, but it doesn't give me the option to do that. Will "compress" get it to be small enough? Is this why I'm getting an error? I've repaired permissions before booting from the CD.

I don't know about the authentication error; however, to make a disk image of 250 GB source drive to a 120 GB target is an exercise in futility. There's not enough room. 250 GB? What are storing? A complete music store, the movies of Hollywood, or the pictures in an art gallery?
If you want an emergency backup of your 500 GB HD, then you'll need an external at least as big. BTW, making disk images for this purpose is fraught with danger since you can't ensure that it's good until you restore it to a bootable HD. I strongly recommend something like Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper!, etc. instead. BTW, you can just drag & drop any data files from one HD to another. There's no need to put them in a disk image and certainly no need to encrypt things. If you decide to go the bootable backup route, move the data files to root-level and don't back those up. That should make your emergency backup a lot smaller.

  • After importing an image from cs5 back into lightroom, lightroom is making the image darker

Lightroom is making my images darker after i edit them in photoshop cs5 and I dont know why. When i open the image back into photoshop it looks fine. Even when i save it as a jpeg lightroom is making the image darker. When i imported the raw image into lightroom before i edited into photoshop it looked fine. Is there a way to fix lightroom?

    See screen shot:
Click on the two small triangles and under <Lightroom General Presets> select <Zeroed>. Sorry, it seems that the option <None> is not available anymore in Lr 4.3. But <Zeroed> has the same effect.
Alternatively, in the Develop Module, bottom right, just above the film strip click on <Reset>.  See screen shot:

  • Downconverting video to SD without double-images

So I have some HD video that I want to put on a DVD. I have DVD Studio Pro, which as you know, will not downconvert the video to SD for me. I tried re-exporting the video as a regular old SD QuickTime movie, but I noticed that there was a bad case of the video having double-images at certain places where there was a lot of movement. For example, if someone is waving their arm around, I'll see the image of the arm and then a second or even third "ghostly" image of the same arm right behind it as long as it is still moving (is there a term for this?). I looked at the HD version that I exported earlier and it had this as well during the same moments.
I was able to finally get rid of it by converting the HD version to an H.264 MP4 that is still HD using MPEG Streamclip. The video also never had this problem while still in FCP. Problem is, DVD Studio Pro won't burn this to a conventional DVD (or, at least nothing that our DVD players will accept). Is there a format that I can export the video to that is widescreen, SD, and won't have that ghostly double-image? I also have MPEG Streamclip and iSkysoft Video Converter available (as well as Compressor, which I know nothing about), but I haven't seen a way to downconvert video to SD with them.
Difficulty: I'm on a cruise ship with very limited Internet, so I can't download or buy much of anything.
    Thanks,
    Adam

Compressor has running time based DVD presets. Apply the appropriate one and bring the resulting files into DVD SP. DVD Video requires MPEG 2 video and and .ac3 audio file. Read the user manual in the Help menu.
Converting to H.264 is not the way to go.

  • Mp600 prints double image. Color type not in register.

Recently update iMac to OS X Yosemite. Tried to update mp600 software. Only software I could find was for mp610. Now when I print color, it prints a double image out of register. Black type seems to work fine, but colors won't line up. Is there anything I can do or any software I can use to correct this issue?

I'm not seeing that problem here, either (Safari 3.1.2 in Mac OS X 10.5.5). The image at the bottom left corner matches the background nicely.
Have you looked at your site on more than one Mac running Safari? My thinking at this point is that your web site and images are fine, but there's a problem with your installation of Safari. Do you have any third party Safari "enhancers" or hacks installed?

  • Double Images when copied to CD

I have an album of photos which I copied to CD in the following manner. I made a folder on my desktop and dragged (I may have exported them from iPhoto instead of dragging but at the moment I am not sure which I used) 68 photos to the folder. I then copied the folder to a CD and then burnt it. When I try to show it on a DVD player which plays CD jpeg images, it shows 119 photos. When it lists the jpeg's I find that about 49 of them are doubled up, ie: img1867, 1mg1868, etc and there is a total of 119 jpegs show up. When the CD is played, a blank screen appears on the double image, which stays on screen for quite some time, therefore ruining the effect of the images.
The strange thing is, that when I put that disc into my eMac, it only shows 68 images in the folder. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
PS One thing that I wonder about is that my digital camera had a numbering system that went up to 9,999. I have since gone over that mark, therefore I do have images that are starting to duplicate the original numbers in my iPhoto library. Also, my camera seems to be reverting to zero at times when I download a new set and I therefore have image numbers that are doubling and tripling up. I have my iPhoto library arranged by date, so I presume that is keeping the photos sorted properly even though there are similar image numbers.

I have made another CD following your directions, ie: Make folder on desktop, drag photos from album into folder. I then dragged the images from the folder onto the CD and proceeded to burn it. When I tried playing it on my DVD player through a TV, it again doubled many of the images. (There should have been 68 images from the folder, but the readout on the TV (from the DVD player) indicates 119). I tried a CD that a Windows friend had burned with jpeg images on it and it performed flawlessly. One thing I did notice, was that the title of the Windows CD came up on screen, ie: 'Rockies 2005' along with the listing of the jpeg images, when the Stop button was pressed on the remote. Howevever in mine, the word (Root) in brackets appeared in lieu of a name. Would this be indicative of something? An error also comes up on screen 'Corrupt File'. So, the same problem exists. I hope there may still be Hope?! Thanks Peter and Bri. Cheers.

  • HD photo takes double images

my iphone 4 when set on HD takes a double image of the same shot, with slightly different exposures
    Help please

It's supposed to do that with HDR on.  From p.126 of the manual...
With HDR, you can save both the normal-exposure version and the HDR version of a photo in the Camera Roll, or save just the HDR version. By default, both are saved.

  • Double Images

I am new to PE9. When I import pictures from my hard drive into Organizer I get many double images.
I have checked my picture files on the hard drive to be sure that they did not exist there as double images.
I have tried deleting the pictures from the Organizer and starting over, but I still get the double images.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Mike

The Organizer will not import the same file multiple times, so there likely multiple copies of these files. Otherwise there must be some for of corruption at work, possibly a flawed catalog or damaged image data and the thumbnails don't accurately represent the individual images, but instead are being picked up from neighbors.
To find out what's going on, open up the Properties panel (Alt+Enter) select each of a set of duplicates and check the file name and file path associated with these files to check whether they are identical files in different locations or actually supposed to be individual files.

  • Double image when exporting versions

Hi, I exported a version of a RAW file to PS CS2 for editing with no problems but subsequently all other versions I exported from Aperture will have a double image of the initial file sandwiched together regardless whether I open it with Preview or PS. However, there are no such problem if I drag the thumbnail from Aperture to Desktop before opening it.
    What have I done wrong???

    Hi Firstlaunch,
what I did was wrong. I should have used "Open with external editor" instead of "Export Versions", which is low res jpegs in my preference setting. Anyway, I then open these jpegs with PS CS2 and got on with my editing. The edited pics are then re-imported to Aperture and that's where the problem began. All exported jpegs from then on will have a double-image/multi exposure of the first pic I exported.
I can't show you screen shot cos I've since trashed all the file on Aperture and re-installed everything. I still don't know what caused the problem but I'm doing it the right way now and everything's fine. Thanks.

  • HVX-200 import blurry (double-images) into CS4?!

I am using Premiere CS4 and I imported footage from Panasonic HVX-200 shot at 720PN 24p format.
I am importing using the 720P 24P DVCPROHD preset.
For some reason all my footage comes out blurry (I see double images when a subject moves, as if I have frames blending together)
Can someone tell me what may be causing this?
    Thanks,

  • Doubles Images, But Not Always

Recently, I started using a standalone time base corrector (TBC) called the AVT-8710, between my consumer VCR and Canopus ADVC110, in order to try recapturing certain VHS tapes with problematic sections that previously led to skipped frames in the captures.
(The skipped frames have something to do with the videotapes and/or the Canopus ADVC110, not Final Cut Express or my computer system and peripherals.)
Recapturing the problematic videotapes using the TBC has resulted in captures that playback okay in the Final Cut Express Viewer. The Quicktime files (in the capture scratch folders) also playback okay with Quicktime Player. (The TBC got rid of the skipped frames.) However, when sending the video out from Final Cut Express via Firewire to the Canopus ADVC110 (set to Digital In), and the Canopus analog out to my 720p HDTV, I see lots of double images in the problematic sections where the skipped frames had occurred in the earlier captures.
(This Video Out set up otherwise works okay; the problem is only with the recent captures done with the TBC.)
When doing the same captures into iMovie 6.0.4, with everything else the same, I'll see the double images during playback within its interface, and sending video out only sends audio. The DV files within Package Contents will play okay with Quicktime Player.
What is all this telling me that I don't understand? Obviously, I'm not going to trust that these captures are okay.

It's taken me this long, but I think I've answered my own question, at least partly.
When I explained the captures "playback okay in the Final Cut Express Viewer" and "the Quicktime files (in the capture scratch folders) also playback okay with Quicktime Player" at the top of this thread, I was not aware that Final Cut displays only one field during playback, and Quicktime Player was defaulting to showing only one field during playback. Apparently, that is the reason I was not seeing the interlacing problem (the "double images") during playback of the capture files with those methods of presentation.
I also explained, when sending video out from Final Cut Express to a camcorder or digital-to-analog to an HDTV, I'd see the "double images" during playback. I'm thinking now, when I wrote, "it seems it may have something to do with the interlace video being converted for progressive presentation", I had things reversed in my mind. When outputting to my camcorder or monitoring on the HDTV, then, in fact, I was seeing both fields, which revealed the interlacing artifact.
As for what went wrong during the digitizing process in the first place, I wasn't really expecting to get that question answered on this thread. Nevertheless, comments are welcome.
Reading the "BEST QUALITY QUICKTIME?" thread started by prof d hall on the "Getting started with video production on a Mac" forum was helpful. I tried out the discussed "High Quality" setting, accessible by going into Movie Properties, clicking on video track, then visual settings. And lo and behold, then the "double images" are revealed during playback, apparently because "High Quality" means playing both fields. (I have Quicktime Pro, and assume Quicktime Pro is required to perform this function.)
P.S. I understand, if I save a Quicktime movie file at the "High Quality" setting, it is only changing metadata, not changing the quality. I also understand, if you do this with a raw DV stream file (.dv), Quicktime Player needs to perform "Save as..." and create a new ".mov" file, because raw DV stream does not support the metadata. However, I feel that prof d hall's question about why the file size doubles when going from .dv to .mov was not answered on that thread (now archived). It's easy to see why he may have confused this function with the actual data being saved at a higher quality.
