Making dreamweaver site compatible with respect to various screen resolutions

I want to make dream weaver site compatible with respect to
1) various screen resolutions lie 800*600, 1024*768 etc
2) various monitor sizes...12", 15", 17" etc
3) the site should look same in different browsers IE,
Mozilla, Safari, Crome
what changes do i need to make?

Dreamweaver *is* compatible with all resolutions. It's the
code that your
layout design has produced in DW that may not be. As has
already been
mentioned, you need to determine the smallest browser
viewport in which you
want your page rendered without horizontal scrollbars, and
design your page
elements accordingly (and again, this is not a resolution or
screen size
issue).
> 3) the site should look same in different browsers IE,
Mozilla, Safari,
> Crome
You will *never* achieve pixel perfect rendering in every
brower but you can
come close. The most important first step to that would be to
create pages
that validate here -
http://validator.w3.org
If you cannot do that, then your page rendering will be a
mess across the
board.

    Is Dreamweaver CS6 compatible with CS5.5?

    HTML is HTML, CSS is CSS.  The code will be fine.  If you are using features specific to that verison, the GUI elements will obviously not be visible, but you can still edit in code view.  An example of this is the Fluid Grid Layouts in CS6 that are not present in CS5.5.  The code will be editable and you will be able to see the changes, but the Grid background won't be there visually.

    For starters, make sure to Check for Updates on any of the Help menus, and make sure the product has all the latest patches. MS did come out with a patch addressing the display issues on Retina Macs. Latest patchlevel is 14.3.2.
    We are talking about Office:Mac 2011, right?

  • Is Dreamweaver 8 compatible with Mac OS X Lion 10.7?

    Does anyone know if dreamweaver 8 is compatible with Mac OS X Lion 10.7? Want to update  all my hardware with iCloud, which means I need to move from OS 10.6 to 10.7, and I still want to be able to upload changes to my current website until my new site is built (in another application next year)...thanks!

    From what I've been told (have been unable to get a good solid answer though) Lion DOES NOT have Rosetta to run PPC software or UB software. Everything Mac has to be Intel only to run in 10.7

  • Is Dreamweaver cs5 compatible with Windows 8

    Not Dreamweaver cs5.5, but cs5. Is it fully compatible with Windows 8?  It works with Windows 7.

    I think it would make good sense.  I hesitate to buy their products because I feel I am going to be left high and dry when the next operating system comes out.  Every time my PC fails or is retired it is a guessing game as to what still works.  Since software is so expensive, I find I am buying less and less – too risky.  I simply do without and do not expand my IT horizons.  It is a lot cheaper for the parent company to try it out and give a report than for every single user to take the plunge and potentially drown.  The customers can only find out by installing the product.  If it doesn’t work then there is the task of getting it off.  Generally the software does not come off completely and the residue can cause complications.  The companies could test until it stops working and then say that from this point back you will have to buy a new one.  It sure would build consumer confidence and end a lot of aggravation.

  • Is Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Compatible With Windows 7

    Hello;
           I am a new student taking up Web Design and the school that I am interested in is issuing the older Dreamweaver software Adobe Dreamweaver CS4.
           I am using operating system   Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium computer.
          Windows 7 being that newest and latest operating system issued by Microsoft I am not sure if Dreamweaver CS4 will be compatible with my computer.
           If anyone has ever installed Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 on to a windows 7 computer have they ever had, any problems with, the installation being, error messages or just damaging to there computer.
         If so please explain?   Or just simply do they work together?
          I can not contact the school due to Student Services being closed.
                   Thank you Jon.

    CS4 had no major issues on Win 7. You should be aware of this one bug: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/478327

    I have a bunch of music videos I want to put on my new 30 gb video iPod but whenever I try none of them are compatible and they all come up with errors? Is there a way to make them automatically compatible with the iPod or are they just stuck in the wrong format?

  • Most efficient way to handle Image sizes with respect to Mobile Screen Size

    Hi all,
    I and trying to find the best possible way to manage Images with respect to the size of mobile screen.
    If I have an image that is best fit on mobile screen size (176 x 144) then how can I make it best fit for (128 x 128) screen size ?
    rizzz86

    Hey Rizzz86,
    You could also scale down a higher resolution image to fit smaller screens, however you will find that resizing by factors other than 2, 4, 8 is harder to achieve with a decent quality and much slower on lower spec devices.
    You could also display 128x128 image centered on 176 x 144 screen with black borders around it.
    It will look not that bad (i.e. borders of 24 pixels top and bottom and 8 pixels left and right) and will cost you nothing in terms of space or processing.
    In the end having an image in 3 different sizes will not increase the MIDlet size by much, unless you are having tens of such images (for example custom UI elements).
    Best solution is to have a bit of both I think. Personally I use scaling down by factors that are powers of 2 and displaying with the black borders.

  • Elements 12 is not compatible with newer high definition, high resolution screens.

    After many, many hours of troubleshooting on my own, asking questions and time on the chat, Adobe finally told me that Elements 12 is not compatible with my screen. No apology, no offer of refund, no indication when a fix might be available.

    Looks like it exceeds PSE 12 System Requirements.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 compatible with Windows 7 and 8?

    I still work with Dreamweaver CS4 (student version) which is until now still good enough for me.
    On my desktop I still have XP and on my Laptop Vista.
    But due to HD filming and probably Office 2013 I need a new desktop and also need to upgrade my Laptop.
    As all new desktops have windows 8 can anyone tell me if dreamweaver cs4 will still run properly under this?
    And if I upgrade my laptop to Windows 7 (I still have a free upgrade) will it run under that one too?
    As I still have a student version, the purchase of a new dreamweaver would be expensive for the time being.
    Thanks already for your information

  • Are files on Dreamweaver CC compatible with Dreamweaver CS6?

    Does anybody happen to know about this? I am in a web design class and we're working on a midterm; the computers at my college has CS6, but now that I am home I have to work on the midterm with the CC version. I am curious if the Dreamweaver file at home will be affected when I get it on CS6. Last semester I made a similar mistake, but it was with InDesign CC. I am now worried that the same thing will happen with Dreamweaver.

    Don't know if it helps you but as a Cloud member you have access to CS6, CC and CC 2014 versions.
    So when you're at home you can still use Dreamweaver CS6 if you want to.
    Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application

  • Making an application compatible with MBP Retina Display?

    Hi guys. I have a game that I really enjoy playing, "Football Manager 2012", which isn't optimised for retina and looks blurry/pixelly on the new MBPR screen. Its native resolution is 1280x800, but it can be changed up to 2560x1600, and although that makes the text crisp, it is tiny and you can barely read anything, as you would imagine.
    I have tried every "hack" under the sun to make it Retina-compatible.
    In the info.plist of the application, I added this line of code to make the app supposedly support Retina fonts (it's all I care about -- don't mind the graphics).
    Code:
    <key>NSPrincipalClass</key> <string>NSApplication</string> <key>NSHighResolutionCapable</key> <true/>
    I added that code to all three instances of the app (two in applications folders, one buried deep in the Steam directory). I even applied the code to the Steam application just in case that was the offender. I rebuilt the apps' plist cache using the copy-paste method for all of this. I ensured that the "open in low resolution" checkbox was unticked. Supposedly this would work -- no dice.
    These tricks work with other applications, so why not this?
    Then I tried an OS-wide line of code in Terminal to force apps to untick "open in low resolution". Still not working.
    My next effort was trying to edit the xml settings of the Football Manager application itself. I found the xml file and where it has the font sizes. I download all four OTF font files that are used in the game, so the computer 'possesses' a retina-capable font to utilise. There was also a line called "lcd_filter" and it was using "freetype" (don't know what that is). I didn't touch anything else in the xml.
    I'm not sure what more I can do.... it's really ticking me off. I know nothing has worked because the grey title bar of the application (in windowed mode) is still pixelated and has blurry traffic light buttons. Everything is still "non-retina".
    Can anyone help?

    Thanks, Allan.
    There is also Football Manager 2013, but that too isn't made for Retina at all.
    I'm still holding on to the hope that some home trickery will make the fonts crisp.
    Techniques worked to make programs like MS Office and Eclipse have retina crisp text before it was officially available, surely this is a workaround for this? It's fruitless contacting the manufacturers of the game, by the way, they see it as an irrelevant issue due to the supposedly tiny market!

  • Heartache making web app compatible with Japanese

    I maintain a Java Web application which interfaces with an Oracle 9 database via JDBC.<br>
    <br>
    The database settings are:<br>
    NLS_CHARACTERSET WE8ISO8859P1<br>
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET AL16UTF16<br>
    <br>
    I have one column in which users now should be able to enter all types of characters, including Western and Japanese text. The column is currently set to CLOB, and I never enter more than 4000 characters.<br>
    <br>
    I don't want to switch the entire database to UTF-8, because that means shutting down, backing up, restarting. I don't have sufficient Oracle knowledge to do that without risking significant downtime.<br>
    <br>
    What do I have to do in order to enter Japanese and Western characters into that field?<br>
    <br>
    I've done the following so far, but without success:<br>
    1. The JSP page includes the encoding information - <%@page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8"%><br>
    2. I changed the field in Oracle to NClob<br>
    3. I use the following code to insert my test Japanese characters (i.e. the TEXT2 field is the NClob field):<br>
    dbconn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=thehost.com) (PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=servicename)))","scott", "tiger");<br>
         pstmt = dbconn.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO TEST_MATTHIAS (ID, TEXT1,TEXT2,TEXT3,TEXT4) VALUES(?,?,?,?,?)");<br>
                   for (int i=0; i<1; i++) {<br>
                        pstmt.setString(1, request.getParameter("id")+"");<br>
                        pstmt.setString(2, request.getParameter("text1")+"");<br>
                        pstmt.setString(3, request.getParameter("text2")+"");<br>
                        pstmt.setString(4, request.getParameter("text3")+"");<br>
                        pstmt.setString(5, request.getParameter("text4")+"");<br>
                        pstmt.executeUpdate();
                   }<br>
    4. I query the table with the following code:<br>
    pstmt = dbconn.prepareStatement("SELECT ID, TEXT1, TEXT2, TEXT3, TEXT4 FROM TEST_MATTHIAS WHERE ID='1'");<br>
                   results = pstmt.executeQuery();<br>
                   while(results.next()){<br>
                        result = "Text1: "+results.getString("TEXT1")+"<br>Text2: "+results.getString("TEXT2")+"<br>Text3: "+results.getString("TEXT3")+"<br>Text4: "+results.getString("TEXT4");<br>
                   }<br>
    5. BUT, even with these changes, the text is not inserted correctly, and is not selected correctly. I use Aqua Data Studio as my main application to query the database. But the code above, of course, is in my JSP.<br>
    6. My test text that I try to insert into the form field on the JSP: "Yahoo!&#12503;&#12524;&#12511;&#12450;&#12512;"<br>
    7. The text that comes out of my SQL Select statement: "Yahoo!×ìߢà"<br>
    <br>
    Can someone help or give me tips on what I am missing?<br>
    <br>
    <br>
    Sincerely,<br>

    Try this:
    request.setCharacterEncoding("utf-8"); // <-- here
    pstmt = dbconn.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO TEST_MATTHIAS (ID, TEXT1,TEXT2,TEXT3,TEXT4) VALUES(?,?,?,?,?)");
    pstmt.setFormOfUse(3, OraclePreparedStatement.FORM_NCHAR); // <-- here
    pstmt.setString(1, request.getParameter("id")+"");
    pstmt.setString(2, request.getParameter("text1")+"");
    pstmt.setString(3, request.getParameter("text2")+"");
    pstmt.setString(4, request.getParameter("text3")+"");
    pstmt.setString(5, request.getParameter("text4")+"");
    pstmt.executeUpdate();

  • Making a Pages document compatible with Word and Full-screen view

    Hi there! I would like to know if it is necessary to have Microsoft Office installed on my computer in order to be able to save a Pages document as "Microsoft Word" compatible. As of now, when I select the "Save As" option, I'm only able to save my document as a iWork 06 and 05 file. Also, I've noticed that on the video tutorials online, there is a "full-screen" mode and I was wondering if it was available on iWork 08, or if it is only for iWork 09. Thank, and sorry if these questions have been answered before!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
    No, you don't need Office installed. That's the whole idea. Go to File > Export & choose Word (or text, rtf or pdf). The option to "save as" Word has been added in Pages 4/iWork '09 as well as in export.
