Making eyes sharp color pop????

I know this has to have been covered here before. I am new to post processing and just bought PSE7 and Barbara's book. I will continue looking here and through the book but in the mean time can anyone help me out with this? Like I said... I am new. I need detailed instruction if anyone is up to it.
Thank you very much, Rob

Rob,
Not sure what the problem is. Are the eyes out of focus? Is the color
at variance? Or, both?
It will help if you can post the picture (free) at:

  • Making eyes pop???

I am new here and I have been searching, but have not found anything related to this...I am trying to find a way to make the eye color "pop" in my photos. I know of some people using the full version of Photoshop and they are using Totally Rad Actions which make the colors of the eyes pop, all of the colors. The eyes are so dimensional in the photos. I am trying to find something that will have a similiar result in PS Elements (I am using Elements 7). You tips or guidance are so appreciated. I have been searching everywhere. I am trying to see if I can accomplish this with software rather then purchasing a new camera.

You could try making a selection of the eyes with the magic wand or lasoo tool ( dont forget to click on "add to" to select both eyes) then use adjustment layers to play with the hue & saturation, brightness and contrast. If that fails maybe try the colour replacent tool.

For the "Arangements" option to appear, the external display must be turned on with the correct input selected and connected to the computer.  Then close system prefs, reopen, go to "Display" and "Arrangement" will be along the top.

  • How can I Make just one color pop and the rest a black and white photo??

How can I make just one color pop and the rest of the photo black and white?? I'm using iphoto...

3rd party image editors like Photoshop Elements for Mac can do it:
    Click to play video screenshot
Or use it to keep an object in color and the rest B/W.

  • Presets. Looking for Soft Glow, Color Pop, and Artistic Sketch

Does anyone know how I can get the presets for my version of lightroom to have Color pop, artistic sketch in color and B&W, vintage, and soft glow? I am new to Lightroom but I have seen these effects used so I purchased lightroom and these effects aren't on here. Thanks for your help and feedback.

Yes they are Lightroom Presets, however, the only way I could think you could get the exact ones, is talk to an employee of Picture Me and see if they will copy onto a flash drive. If you are successful, please by all means, share!

  • Red sharpie color on my 12" powerbook screeen........HELP!!

A very nice lady accidentally got red Sharpie ink color on my 12" Powerbook G4 screen. I have not tried to remove it yet because I fear damaging the display..... Does anyone have an idea as to what will successfully work to remove this Sharpie color? Many thanks, in advance.

isypropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol 90%) can be found at a local drugstore/grocery store, and does a terrific job of removing sharpie from almost every surface, and should not do any damage to your screen.
other option, get some iKlear and see if that'll take it off.

  • Eye dropper/ color picker not working right

Everything so far seems to be working right except the eye dropper tool, or even selecting a color from the pallette it. Instead of setting the foreground color it's setting the background color which is really annoying, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling so far to no effect. Anyone else having this issue? Or have any idea what may be causing it?

Hop into your Color Panel (Window > Color), and you'll see the two color boxes. Foreground/Background. Make sure the Foreground box is outlined. Clicking on it should activate it, and hopefully solve your problem.

  • Eye-dropper Color Picker not working

None of the PPro CS5 effects I've tried that use the Eye-dropper for color-picking (UltraKey, Color Key, Color Corrector, etc.) seem to work properly. When I click on the eyedropper, the cursor changes to the eye-dropper pointer, but when I drag this pointer over any part of the screen, the swatch in the effects controls seems to vary between different shades of gray - not the color that is under the pointer. Likewise, when I click over a color, only the shade of gray is picked.
Clicking on the swatch in the effect controls to bring up the graphic color picker works just fine. Furthermore, in After Effects CS5 and Photoshop CS5, all of the color eye-droppers I have tried work just fine. Seems to be isolated to Premiere Pro CS5. Never had this problem with CS4. Any ideas?

    Hey all,
This thread has been really useful to me as I have the exact same problem.... My problem is I do not have a machine like yours, I'm running on the most basic 13 inch MacBook Pro so 2gb ram, and I think Nvidia GeForce 9400M, will need to check, I purchased it in November 2009.
Is there anything I can do?
    Cheers,

  • Premiere Pro CS5 - Mac Pro - The eye dropper color picker does not work properly

The eye dropper will not pick up on the colors that are hovered over. Instead, the selected color is offset. The best I can figure out is that I'm experiencing a vertical downward offset of about +/-150 pixels and a horizontal offset to the right of about +/-5 pixels.
Does anyone have the same issue and if so have you found a solution?

Yes, that appears to be the problem. I disconnected my secondary monitor (which does have a different vertical resolution) and the eyedropper appears to function properly.
Okay, so now I know the cause of the issue. However, disconnecting and reconnecting monitors is not an acceptable workflow. Apparently this problem affects quite a few Premiere Pro CS5 Mac users with dual monitors since you referred to it as a know issue with all versions of Mac OS. Do you know if there is an update (not an upgrade) for Premiere Pro CS5 to address this?
    Thanks.

  • Lightroom color popping when switching monitors?

So, this might be a silly question.  I have lightroom on one monitor and when I drag it over (the program window) to my other monitor it pops (changes color) after about 1/2 a second.  There is a shift in color.  I'm wondering if it is the monitors ICC profile or something weird like that?  anyone else have this issue.  Both of my monitors are samsungs (different models) and they are both using the Samsung natural color profile.  Thanks

The colours should "pop" slightly, but should end up the same after they pop.
I have two dissimilar monitors (one much wider gamut than the other) but both calibrated/profiled.  If I drag the main LR window from one to the other, momentarily the colour is wrong for 1/2 second or so until LR re-renders in the correct profile for the new monitor.  For example, suppose the main window is on the wide gamut monitor and I drag it to the narrower gamut monitor.  Initially the colours are too pale (as it's using the profile for the wide-gamut monitor), then it re-renders in the correct profile and the colours become correct.
This is what should happen.  If you're saying that colours are not the same on the two different monitors (after allowing the 1/2 second) then I'd guess one or both of the monitor profiles is incorrect or corrupt.
You say you have two different Samsung model monitors - but are you using the same profile for each?  That could be a problem.  Different monitors are very unlikely to want the same profile.  If these are Samsung-provided profiles, make sure you are using specific profiles for each monitor.  Better still: get a hardware colour calibration device (Spyder, Color Munki etc) and create your own profiles.
Edit: an additional check.  Display an image on both monitors.  View on the main monitor in Library Loupe view (e.g. type E) and also display the same image on the 2nd monitor in Loupe view (e.g. type "Shift-E" or type the 2nd monitor icon on the film strip tool bar).  The colours should look identical (within the capabilities of the monitors; a wider gamut monitor might display very highly saturated colours more intensely, but most colours should be identical).  If they don't, one or other profiles is incorrect.

  • Beginner needs help making a multi-color sphere!

    Hello all,
I am an Illustrator CS3 newbie and I have run into a hurdle. I am trying to make a blue sphere with ONE gray quadrant. That is, 3/4 of the sphere looks blue, but the upper right 1/4 looks gray.
I can make a fine looking blue sphere by placing a small light blue circle inside a larger dark blue circle, and doing a Blend. I tried to place a gray rectangle over that blended sphere and do a Pathfinder Divide, but the blended sphere doesn't want to accept my Divide.
When I try doing the Pathfinder Divide first, I get a 2D circle with the right color scheme (3/4 blue and 1/4 gray) but when I go to blend a smaller circle into that to attempt to make a 3D sphere effect, it goes all screwy.
Help me, Illustrator veterans! What is the right way to make a blue sphere with a gray quadrant???

    1. Turn on Smart Guides.
    2. Ellipse Tool: Shift Drag to draw a circle.
    3. Attributes Palette: Turn on the Show Center icon.
    4. Deselect.
    5. White Pointer: Select the upper right segment of the circle. Click the segment, not an anchorPoint. Edit>Cut. Edit>PasteInFront. You now have two paths.
    6. Pen Tool: Click the upper anchorPoint of the single-segment path you just pasted. Move the Pen cursor downward until SmartGuides senses the center. Click. Move the Pen cursor rightward and click the other endpoint of the path. The path is closed. You now have two paths: one open, one closed. Select both paths.
    7. Gradient Palette: Click the Gradient icon. Set it to Radial. Each of the two paths now has a gray radial grad fill. Leave both paths selected.
    8. Gradient Tool: Mousedown in the midde of the smaller path, drag diagonally leftward and downward, crossing the center and a little beyond. The figure should look fairly like a sphere, with the highlight in the upper right. It appears that one continuous Grad Fill spans both objects, but in fact, each still has its own fill. Deselect. Select the larger path (the part you want to be blue).
    9. Gradient Palette: Edit the colors of the two color stops, making the white one light blue and the black one dark blue.
    10. Set stroke to None on both paths.

  • Making sure the colors are accurate in photoshop

Lately, my finished photoshop phot looks differen when I view it in Picasa, or ipad, or iphone. Is there a way to set the balance in photoshop to guarantee it is accurate?

Photoshop calculates its display of images based on the screen profile, so one needs to calibrate one’s screen(s), not Photoshop.
Monitors can change with time so it is recommended to calibrate them regularly.
It just seems that lately it looks different on other devices, but the same among themselves.
So how should the problem be with Photoshop?
Do you embed the profiles when saving images?
In which Color Space do you work?

  • Making type change color on rollover: Cant make it work

Incredibly, I can not figure out how to make hyperlinked text change color on rollover.
I thought it was a matter of assigning a new CSS rule, but I cant find the dialog box within which to specify a rollover color.
I cant believe how difficult and obtuse such a super simple and basic function is in Dreamweaver.
    WHAT am I doing wrong?

CSS Pseudo-classes work best if defined in the following order (LiVHA):
    a:link {color:#FF0000}      /* unvisited  link */
    a:visited {color:#00FF00}  /* visited link */
    a:hover  {color:#FF00FF}   /* mouse over link */
    a:active {color:#0000FF} /* selected  link */

  • Making a Rainbow Colored Smoke Explosion.

    Hello.
I'm trying to make a smoke explosion colored as a rainbow with any desired background. I have a white smoke explosion with green screen on the back already, but I can't figure out how to color only the smoke using premiere elements.
I tried with a transparent rainbow gradient image I made in Photoshop, but it colors the whole screen and not only the smoke, it looks like this:
Does anyone know how to do this?
I'm using Premiere Elements 11. I have little experience in it, but I can do basic things, such as video merge.
    Thank you.

I'm trying to get an effect like this one
