Making flash buttons work from hard drive and CD

I have made a "Flash" header for some of my websites. They
work fine when they are uploaded to the internet, but will not work
when I try to use them from my hard drive. The purchasers of my
software like to run the website from their server or the teacher's
computer. How do I make the links work when I burn them to a CD? I
like the the header with its sound and rollover functions. I can't
achieve the same effect using a rollover button in fireworks. I
really need some help here.
ActionScript code attached to buttons (as I stated
previously, they work fine online) is...
on(release) {
getURL("solarsys.html");
Is there anyone else with this problem? Can you please tell
me how to overcome it?
Thankyou

  • Was advised to delete system configuration file from hard drive and now computer will not start - any help would be appreciated.

Downloaded Yosemite and since then cannot connect to internet or bluetooth mouse - was advised to delete system configuration file from the hard drive and since then cannot start up computer. Any help would be appreciated - cheers.

Boot the MBP with the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys down.  The result should be a display showing a revolving globe.  By following the instructions, you will be able to reinstall the original OSX.  Then you may reinstall Yosemite.
A solid Internet connection will be required.

  • DELETING FILES PERMAMNENTLY FROM HARD DRIVE AND PASSWORD PROTECTING

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO PERMANENTLY DELETE FILES FROM THE HARD DRIVE? ALSO, WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO ADD A PASSWORD TO A FOLDER?
    THANKS!

#1) Please check your caps lock key which seems to be on and many perceive as shouting your questions.
#2) Use secure empty trash when you want secure deleting.
#3) There isn't a folder password feature. There's a utility which will let you hide folders with a password, but that is easily circumvented. Then there's making password protected, encrypted image files. The second is very secure but it isn't a folder, it appears as a new volume on your desktop.

  • Deleting tunes from hard drive and not ipod

I don't want to keep all the tunes on my hard drive, that I already uploaded into my ipod.. when I went to delete the files, through itunes it said next time I update my tunes, those will be removed from the ipod ?? So how do I delete them.. thanks

now a computer geek friend told me.... just don't delete them... YOU WIIL need to reload the ipod sooner or later and you'll be glad it's all there... I'll have to see how my hardrive holds up.. it's only a 20 gig itself.... I really don't want to drop any more dough into this thing, so I don't plan on buying a second hardrive

  • Music files deleted from hard drive and iTunes library

Often, after iTunes software updates, I find that some of my music files that have been uploaded from cds are completely erased from my music library and from my external hard drive, where I keep all my music. I always make sure I turn on the external drive before opening iTunes, and I quit iTunes before turning off the external drive.
So why is my music disappearing?! Where does it go? This has been a problem for a long time and I can't find any solutions online. Please help! Thank you!

When you have the unit in the dock, anytime you sync, you have to make sure that it will sync again to the folder. If it isn't set to sync the same folder where you had the music sync before, it'll delete the file.
That's just the way it's set up. So you have be conscious of it.

  • Can not boot from Hard Drive and or CD

    Hi
    I have a SUN Blade 1000. I loaded Solaris 10 a few days ago
and had it running pretty good until I ran an update program.
Now I cannot boot the dam thing. IT just hangs at a * prompt somwhere in the boot process.
I would like to re load Saolaris 10 but do not have a clue how to
make the machine boot from the CDROM if I cannot get to the OK prompt and I cannot get to ANY prompt that will let me get ANYwhere for that mater.
Is there some key or combination of keys I could push or something to get this dam thing to boot from the CDROM so I can start over???
    Thank you in advance.
I have almost no experiance with SUN Solaris on SPARC or any other platform.
I know Windows and x86 hardware very well and have built many machines.
Is there a way to get into the Bios at boot time like with an x86 system? The last question is not as important as the first one of how do I boot this pig from the CD.
    Thanks

  • Every time I try to make a pre-set in export the top export to drop down button changes from Hard Drive to email. What anm I missing.

    As above title sorry.

Turns out I'm going to have to BUY iLife '11 (from Best Buy) because the download version on Apple's site is for those with Lion only and I have Snow Leopard. This is becoming a major PAIN. Apple shoudl continue to offer its older products online at least (if not in their stores) rather than just dropping them completely.

  • I have a seagate 1tb hard drive and a 16gb memory stick, how do i transfer avi files from one to another as the click drag and drop wont work, please help?

i have a seagate 1tb hard drive and a 16gb memory stick, how do i transfer avi files from one to another as the click drag and drop wont work, please help?

    Greetings,
What happens when you drag it?
Make sure the drive you are moving the files to has enough available space to receive the file:
Click on the movie file and go to File >  Get Info and note the "size"
Check the drive to which you are moving the file to make sure it has enough available space: https://idisk.me.com/madisonfile-Public/web/finder-drive-available-space-and-for mat.html
Also note the format of the drive you are copying too.  If it is not Mac OS Extended or FAT (not recommended unless you are taking it to a windows computer) then that may be the issue.
    Hope that helps.

  • I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?

I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    If none of these help:
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Why  will photoshop not open after loading it to new iMac computer from an external hard drive and I get this message: Licensing for this product has stopped working:error code: 150:30

Why will Photoshop CS4 not open after loading to new iMac from an external hard drive and I get this message: Licensing for this product has stopped working:error code: 150:30

A Photoshop installation is tied to the machine it was installed on. Moving it to or from a hard drive breaks the licensing.
The answer is easy: Reinstall CS4 from your disc. and apply all updates.

  • I got a flashing folder with a question mark. I got a new hard drive and upgraded to 4 gigs and can't open anything or reload the operating system? Help?

I got a flashing folder with a question mark. I got a new hard drive and upgraded to 4 gigs and can't open anything or reload the operating system? Help? FYI: I have been using boot camp with windows 7 and started getting a kernal_data_Page_error and it would reboot windows, i was trying to do a chkdsk on the next reboot, but thats when i started getting this issue. I have put in a new hard drive and went from 2 gigs to 4. I can not get the computer to do anything, even the monitor does not show anything now????

    Prep your new drive:
    Drive Preparation
    1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs,) then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Install OS X.

  • I have tried transferring my iphoto library to my external hard drive and it's not working.

I have a Macbook Pro. I have recently gotten into photography and to save space on my internal hard drive, I bought an external hard drive to keep all of my photos on. It's a Toshiba with 1 TB of memory. I have searched and searched on how to transfer my iphoto library to it and I'm getting the same answer. I open two finder windows, one with pictures open, the other with the external hard drive open. I have tried to drag the iphoto library icon to the second window to the external hard drive and instead of it staying there and loading everything it gives me the circle with a diagonal line through it and floats back up to the pictures finder window. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I really need help!

you need to make sure the drive you are moving the iphoto library to is formatted in the mac OS extended journaled format
you can view and/or change this in the disk utility which is found in the utilities folder in applications within finder.
on the left side select the external HD and then click on the erase tab it will show you the format it's currnetly in, if it's not mac OS extended journaled select that from the drop down and then hit the button that says erase.
after the erase is complete try the article i gave you again to move the location of the lbrary and it should work.
    good luck

  • Hard Drive and CD no worki

I have a previous post under a flashing ?/picasso folder subject.
I have concluded that there is some sort of problem (logic board?) that is causing both my Hard Drive and CD to not function at the same time. This occurs intermittently however.
After the problem occurs, if I wait a few days with the iBook disconnected from power, both drives will work again for a short time before they die again.
I can boot the iBook via firewire, and using both Hardware Test or TechTool Deluxe:
    1. All diagnostics will pass on both HDD and CD drives, or
    2. Neither the CD nor the HDD are visible.
While trouble shooting, I was able to reformat the HDD drive, but I have been unable to get it to function long enough to load even one of the OS X 10.3 CDs. It gets part way in and then dies, and becomes undetectable for a few days.
At this point I am resigned to use the iBook as a desktop tethered to and external HDD and CD drive.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hey Red,
I looke a little closer at the backside of the board where the cable socket is and found some corrosion. I got so excited that I had found the problem. I cleaned it all up, re-assembled it, and loaded 10.3 on it...so far so good.
So how bad was the corrosion? Was there some kind of contamination/liquid got into the board? Did it come from the top of the board? Do you see those tiny traces on the bottom of the board? There're around .1 mm wide and connect to a resistor array from that 50 pin connector. Examine all of that very carefully with a very strong magnifier. Depending on how bad the corrosion is/was there could be cracks in the pin to board connection and also compromised traces. The faults could be microscopic and would worsen when the board gets hot.
Since you found corrosion in one spot look in others to see if there's more. It only takes a tiny drop in the right place.
Congratulations by the way. It is exciting to discover the cause of the problem.
I don't think that you'll find any board diagrams for the iBook. You might have more luck trying to cross reference chip numbers.

  • How can i restore from Recovery Disk if my notebook's hard drive and dvd drives are dead.

Hi. Good day. My hard drive just crashed and im trying to restore from my restore disks. Unfortunately, my dvd is dead too. I copied the recovery disks to a new hard drive and tried booting from a flash drive but the noteebook is still giving me the SMART hd error message. Please help. Thanks.

    Hi,
If you have, or can borrow an external CD/DVD drive it would be worth trying this although I'm not certain your notebook will support booting from a drive connected via USB.
Another option may be to see if you can find a second hand optical drive on somewhere like Ebay - the drives compatible with your notebook can be found on Page 59 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.  It may even be worth removing a re-seating your existing drive just in case this helps as described in this section.
Does the drive show up in Device Manager?  If it does, right click it and select Properties.  Select the driver tab and see if there is an error code in the status box.
