Making Garageband songs not sound like Garageband songs

Is there a trick to making GBand songs sound like 'normal' songs? When I play songs I've created in GBand on my car stereo, it sounds awful compared to 'real' music. I've played around with the Master Tracks, but nothing seems to work well. I want my music to envelope/surround me, not sound like I'm tinkering around with a cheap keyboard. Thanks.

This isn't what you want to hear, but GB is only as good as the person using it. I have some friends that are trained audio engineers and they can make GB sound as good as anything. I do a pretty good job too. LOL!
What I would like to emphasize if you are looking for pro sounding recordings:
-get decent monitors,
-learn to use your microphones AND the space/room you are recording in,
-read up on the art of mixing,
-learn what a compressor does and familiarize yourself with them,
-practice mixing other's songs (Nine Inch Nails has 2 of their songs as free GB downloads for mixing)
-read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice, read and practice,
and that about covers it. Garageband is just a tool. You have to make it work.

My friend had a very similar issue to yours. The issue came down to the pins of the MagSafe not meeting with the MacBook perfectly causing the lights and the transfer of power to be wacko. I'm not sure if this is issue that your experiencing, but its worth checking out the pins and the MagSafe area on your MacBook for debris.

If that is all clear, then I would suggest you call AppleCare or take it in to an Apple Store to have it checked out.

My recorded guitar is not sounding like the signal I am monitoring. It sounds very good when recording, but lacks energy and detail when it is played back. If I am using input/direct monitoring am I also bypassing the Analog to Digital converters? Could this explain the difference in sound quality?
Would it be the same to monitor a signal directly out of the sound card and to monitor "through" Logic?
My sound card is a Presouns Firepod.

Yes.

No.
My sound card is a Presouns Firepod.
Consult the manual of that device, to see if you can learn from where in the signal chain it gets your direct monitoring from --- PRE conversion or POST conversion... My bet is that it is pre conversion.

take it back asap. If it wasn't doing it before they cleaned the fans, they may have accidentally done something that is causing this behavior.

Mac is making a double note ( sound) on its own?

My colleagues come into the office this morning and said my iMac was making a sound similar to a drill. The iMac was not hot or vibrating.
Worried as I am now sat in front of it and not wanting it to blow up!

I have had this imac for one year and 2 mos. recently I hear a swooshing noise like speakers are frying when I power up and again intermittantly which lasts about only a few second and quiets down by itself. I have mt portable DVD drive unplugged, I turn down the volumn on the imac but it makes no difference.
I don't have applecare so I guess I should take it to the local apple store in Santa Monica ffor them to check it out. But it could be that it wont do it when you expect it to happen ???
Is anyone familiar with this sound ?

Making Recording in Studio sound like it was recorded live in a hall

I have a problem. My recordings sound too good!! What I mean is that there is not the feeling of it being in a hall, because what I call the "sound of the dead air" is missing. There is not the feeling of space in the silent bits of the recording. Any ideas or is there a plug-in for this?

Some ideas:-
You could mix in some noise, you could record some room tone and mix that in, you could use a small amount of room reverb or ambience on your mix or individual tracks, you could even send the mix out into a real room and mic up the speakers (set up the mics at the back of the room, you want the ambient signal, not the dry signal) and mix some of that back into your mix to taste (this can be a great way to gel a fake drum track together a bit more).
Or just record more real, acoustic instruments in general to avoid that stagnant, 100% digital in-the-box sterile vibe.

A noise while playing, not continuosly like bad frequency

While playing any song in itunes, it makes a noise, it sounds like the noise it makes when you connect your speakers to your computer [a little annoying sound], throughout the song... I need help. I've reinstalled it a couple times but the problem persists.

It does not sound like a fan. It sounds similar to a message sent on my iphone. Call to Apple,,,, he had me force quit all applications. The noise seems to have stopped but i still don't know which one of the apps was causing it.

Please try to reset Polycom VVX 500 and 400 series phones and then configure again to test the issue.

Legacy Doesn't Sound Like 6.0.5

I need Vocal Setting Help :O) I've updated from Garage Band 6.0.5 to 10.0.2. I tried using the legacy settings. Specifically, Live Performance, but it does not sound like the Live Performance on the previous version. How can I tweak the settings so that it sounds like 6.0.5?

Search this forum. You'll see this issue has been addressed ad nauseum. However, if you feel there's something wrong with your phone, then by all means make an appointment at the Genius Bar and get it checked out.

I have a 32GB iPhone 5s on AT&T I recently installed a fresh copy of iOS 7.0.2 and now Siri does not sound like the new Siri she has the robotic voice again. I have went to Settings>General>Accessibility>Voice Over(Which is off)>Languages & Dialects>Default Dialect(Set to U.S. English) and turned enhanced voice on. I watched it download the enhanced voice. Still the same thing. I have powered off the phone and powered it back on. Siri still sounds like the siri of old. I have performed a hard reboot. Siri still sounds the same. When I first got the phone she sounded as advertised. Is there anything else I should try?

Change the gender at Settings > General > Siri > Voice Gender. The voice genders that are available vary by country and region.
Change the language at Settings > General > Siri > Language.
If you change either of these, the new enhanced-quality voice will download when you connect your device to power and a Wi-Fi network.

Im making a song on Garageband and I have recorded guitar, drums recorded on the musical keyboard, and vocals. It now says this, and won't play. Ive worked so hard on this and I don't know how to fix it. I am not very skilled or knowledgable in computers and barely know how to operate Garageband as it is. I have many different tracks in this song for different drums and beats. Please someone tell me how to fix this, I'm not even finished it! And again I am not very informed on how to work computers as well as most of you are, just saying. thanks!!!
P.S.: In my about this mac thing, it says i have version 10.9.1, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and Memory is 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Go to Utilities folder
Launch Activity Monitor app
go to its Memory tab on top
tell us what you see at the very bottom?

I bet your page/swap amount will be huge.
If there is not enough RAM, OS X temporarily stores RAM data on the harddrive and tries to retrieve it back into RAM when needed, unfortunately that is so slow that GB throws an error as it cannot play it all in real time.
