Making iPhone capable of music playback to motorcycle bluetooth headset
The 3GS sounds great on a stereo bluetooth headset. It would be even better if it were possible to do that music playback through the bluetooth link to the headset in my motorcycle helmet. Currently I have to use a wire to link iPhone and helmet headset for music playback, contrary to all my efforts to go cordless, even though the bluetooth link works for telephone use. Hopefully either Apple will make the small mod to add the ability to play music through bluetooth to this type of headset, or someone will come up with an App that will do the same thing.
Hi,
I have successfully paired my 3.0 iPhone to my Viper helmet for phone use; but I cannot get the music to stream from the iPhone to the helmet, which requires A2DP profile. I note from various forum messages that in the past the iPhone has not supported A2DP, but that it now does - but does this only relate to the new 3G iPhone; or is there some way that my older version of the iPhone can be made to work with A2DP?
Hope someone has a good idea - as listening to some good music on a motorbike has got to be awesome.
Cheers
JC

Does the Iphone 3G support music playback via a bluetooth headset?
Hi All,
Does the Iphine 3g support music playback via a bluetooth headset at all, I suspect not...It's been on many a user's requested feature list since the first iPhone, and people were disappointed when it didn't show up on the 3G. The adaptor he links to will get the job done.
I have to admit I've demoed a couple of bluetooth stereo headsets, and the music sounded awful. Perhaps it's improved, but for this reason it's not a feature I've personally wished was included. -
My iPhone 5 won't link to my bluetooth headset.
My iPhone 5 won't link to my bluetooth headset (Samsung). It just continuously shows 'searching'. I've restarted the phone and bluetooth headset (fully charged) but it still can't find it.

Is my iPhone 3GS compatible with a Plantronics 975V2 Bluetooth headset?
Is my iPhone 3GS compatible with a Plantronics 975V2 Bluetooth headset?
I resolved it. I had to put the Jawbone into 'pairing' mode, by holding down the Jawbone it two different places. So it is compatible.

Music stops playing after Bluetooth headset call
I have been using this setup since the days of iPhone 2G running v1 software. The problem has only occurred since I got my iPhone 3G running 2.0.
In my car I have a cassette adapter connected to the headphone jack and a Jabra bluetooth headset for voice calls.
I listen to a lot of podcasts in the car and music plays out happily through the car stereo. When a call comes in the music fades and I answer the call on the bluetooth headset. All works great. I then end the call and 8 of 10 times you'll hear a split second of the podcast and then it stops. The play icon disappears out of the status bar. I then have to go back in to the iPod and hit play.
I have also noticed sometimes when in the iPod app and music is playing, I hit the home button and the music will stop playing for a split second and then continue.
I have completely restored the iPhone on several occasions, sometimes even not restored the backup and started fresh. It has never gone away!
Is it the phone? Is it the bluetooth headset?
Any ideas would be gratefully received. I am happy to replace the BT headset if people think it will help but do not wish to buy one unnecessarily. It's neither your specific phone nor your BT headset. It's a plain, old-fashioned bug.
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.
(there's a Bug Report category)
I have the same thing occur frequently with Apple's BT headset (it has persisted across two iPhones and two Apple BT headsets). -

please help/adviceHi Steven,
Is the headset discoverable? The manual for the bluetooth headset should show you how to make it discoverable.
Does the iPhone see the headset?
This article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1838 will walk you through the process of pairing the iPhone with bluetooth headsets.

HT4528 My iPhone 5 does not connect to my bluetooth headset
My iPhone 5 does not find my bluetooth headset. I have my bluetooth setting ON and the headset right next to the iPhone.
First you say both paired, then you cannot pair them. Were they ever paired together, or do you mean they both paired with something else?
If the headset shows in the list of bluetooth devices on the phone, remove it and reset the phone by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, put the headset in pairing/discovery mode. The turn on bluetooth on the phone. See if they link then.
See this support document about bluetooth pairing. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1664 -
Which bluetooth headset works well with iPhone
I was very happy with a Plantronics bluetooth headset for a long time, until it broke. Now I have tested three Plantonics bluetooth sets with my iPhone4 and all had connection problems, which I never had with my Android phone. People keep saying "I can't hear you" unless I put the iPhone in front of my mouth. I don't know why. So, which bluetooth headset have worked well for you with your iPhone?
there are 2 types of bluetooth headsets
the traditional headset which is typical mono and connect to 1 ear and only do phone calls
then there is the a2dp which is typical stereo and play all audio also games, video and music
a2dp is typical bigger being stereo and all and often cost more -
Is the iPhone bluetooth headset out?
hi guys, i cant find any info about the iphone bluetooth headset other than on the online store, is it out in stores? has anyone got one?
Our local Apple store has had it since the same
day
as the iPHone release.
I don't use bluetooth headsets so I can't give you
a
review, but I am sure others will. Also, do a
search
of this forum for Bluetooth Headset
This is likely a third party headset, not the
official Apple Bluetooth headset.
Without a doubt...but I'd love to hear the location of the store where they've been released! ;D -
IPhone music playback breaks after making a call - Motorokr t505
Hi,
My Motorokr t505 works great with the iPhone for making calls and music playback.
This all works well with voice control.
Except, there's a bug in the iPhone.
If I am playing music, then make a phone call by pressing the Motorokr phone button, after the call is complete, the music playback does not resume reliably.
Sometimes, it seems to be going fast and playing fractions of a second of music. Other times, it just doesn't seem to be doing anything.
The solution is to switch off the Motorokr and start playing music again.
Note, that if I receive a call while playing music, the whole system works perfectly - the music resumes correctly after the call has finished.
Any feedback? How do I tell Apple so they can work on this problem for the next firmware release.
regards,
RRhttp://www.apple.com/feedback/
Thats your best route. -
Bluetooth Buzz during music playback - iPhone 6
I am using an iPhone 6 - paired to a pioneer FH-X720BT car stereo. About 5 minutes after bluetooth music playback starts I get a very loud buzz for about 5 seconds. A moment after this all sound stops for a second. Then music resumes. This does not repeat until the stereo is turned off and then on again. Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it. Is it a Pioneer stereo problem or is it an iPhone 6 problem? I have not had the same problem with an older iPhone 4s.
Same issue here with iPhone 6 iOS 8.1.3 and now with iOS 8.2. New Pioneer DEH6700BS. Took back to shop and had new deck replaced - SAME ISSUE. Mine is around 7:30 minute and same drop out right after that as you are seeing. I have tested with iPod Touch and my son's iPhone 5C and I don't get this issue despite multiple testing scenarios. Looks like the common denominator is the iPhone 6.

Hello Everyone,
I have an iPhone 4S, updated to the latest version of iOS (7.1). Recently, I noticed that my iPhone's screen doesn't autolock automatically whenever it's connected via the sync cable to my Laptop Computer (A Dell Studio running Windows 8.1 Pro). This happens regardless of whether iTunes is running or not. Whenever the music playback is on, the screen just gets dimmed after a while (as it always does before the screen auto-lock triggers), and stays like that. However, when I stop music playback, the auto-lock work just fine.
I want to know, is this normal? I mean, is this the way it's supposed to be?
Thanks and Regards,
Rajat S.ALSO, iTunes has been updated to iOS 12.0.1.

Fluctuating audio output level during music playback on iPhone 6
Hi,
When playing music on my iPhone 6 the volume level of the music suddenly drops sometimes and takes ages to go back to the original level. It doesn't matter whether I'm listening to music through my headphones, or when docked to a speaker or via airplay: the problem eventually happens (usually within 5mins). I've tried a factory reset, and I've tried a settings reset but neither of them worked. All I can think of at the moment is that there is an application running in the background that is interfering with music playback. Will try each one in turn and report back. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have three other iOS8 devices (various iPad mini models) where this problem does not occur.
Thanks and regards, Keri
P. S. This problem happened with iOS8 before upgrading to 8.1.2."How would I know which all apps render audio? Any shortcut to find out?"
No shortcut. You have to see whether they play audio or not. That simple. For example, Skype does. -
Is Apple planning on making the iphone capable of bluetooth texting.
Is Apple planning on making the iphone capable of bluetooth texting.
There is no way to know what Apple is planning unless they announce, which is rare.
Rumor and speculation is not allowed here. -
This is a minor issue that'll probably end up in the hands of some apple tech, but I'm curious to see if anyone else is experiencing this.
After updating my phone to 6.1.1, I noticed that occasionally I did not hear anything when playing music through earphones. An attmept to adjust the volume simply displayed the "ringer" icon and no volume meter. When I launch a new song from stopped (not paused), there was no sound or any ability to control it. I unplugged the earphones; the play icon remained, it normally disappears indicating a pause. Plugged back in and music started coming through.
Text/Ring tones are still audible; good because I use it as an alarm clock. The phone is behaving as though it were "docked" though the music playback thing is just weird. I haven't tried playing music while it is actually docked yet.
Will try a restore tonight after work.Ok, so I found this thread in another part of the forum and thought "hey maybe I should try that". I borrowed a can of compressed air from the IT guys and fired it into my phone's dock port. A few particles of who-knows-what came flying out. I've been testing it pretty thoroughly for the past hour, so far it seems to be back to normal. How a dirt particle can short the docking circuitry into thinking it's docked, I have no idea, I'm not an electronics expert...
Anyone having the same issue, go grab a can of compressed air, blow it into your phones ports (both dock and headphone jack), or try the toothbrush thing in the above link. If you use a dock regularly, keep it clean!
