Making long background slide show
I have a need for a long background "show". Specifically, 7 CD's worth of mood music (think yoga) with nature shots. Prefer burning to play in DVD player, but realize it maybe too much music for a DVD, so a slide show running with iTunes playlist in background is possible but using laptop is not optimal.
The challenge is that I only need a few photos (they will repeat) but lots of songs. Is there a way to create a slide show (or movie) several hours long that is playable on DVD player?
SLYmac
Thanks so far. I think I am almost there.
ok so I selected a bunch of photos in iPhoto, clicked "slideshow" and then "send to DVD".
iDVD opened up and now what? it opened up to a generic project "My Great DVD" which i renamed, but not being a veteran of iLife, I am not sure what is next. Do I add anything? This is a simple background slideshow to put into a DVD player and let it go and go until removed. I did not care for a polished menu structure. In fact I was hoping for a "stick it in the player and auto start" product.

Full screen background slide show
Trying to create a full screen background slideshow (workarround).
But when I create a widget slideshow 1920px pinned to the background everything is working fine until a change some settings.
Like No counter. Muse then adapt the size of the widget to far more smaller?
More people this problem?
RenéHere's a similar thread that should most likely answer any queries you may have in regards to getting a full screen background slide show working using a jQuery plugin - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5330925.

Making hi-res slide shows with PE7 or 5
Hi all, I am a long time user of PE5 and prior, but have only recently started making slide shows with zooms, fades and music. I made a vCD, and the resolution wasn't very good on my HDTV. Must I use Premiere Elements 7 to make hi-res DVDs of my slides that preserve the features, or will PS7 by itself do it? [I don't really need video editing capability.] Can I use Premiere Elements 7 with PE5? Or would it make most sense to upgrade to PE7 and PreE7 together? Are there any other good solutions other than adding a video editing program?
Many thanks
DonI am sure that this has already been dealt with on this site. Check the search box at the top to see what comes up. I think your PlayBook has to be sent back to RIM. Here is the RIM contact info for Germany. I think they have a very quick turnaround time. Backup all your data before sending it to them

Keynote 2 no longer plays slide shows
Since upgrading to 10.4.4 on my G4 QS Keynote 2.0.2 will no longer play any slide shows complaining that the monitor is set at too high res (2 monitor setup) changing screen res / bit depth makes no difference. It all used to work fine the last time I used it.
It also appears that the installed graphics card Nvidia GeForce2 MX no longer seems to support Quartz extreme.
Any thoughts?Found the problem!
the update had caused problems which can be cleared down by restarting in OpenFirmware Command-Option-O-F at restart then issue the following with return at each line:
reset-nvram
set-defaults
reset-all
the machine then restarts and all is joy again! -

Making a manual slide show?
I want to make a manual slide show on iDVD is this possible ? How?
You can do it in iphoto.
1. Create an album that contains the photos you want on the slideshow. Highlight that album from the panel on the left.
2. Go to the file menu and select 'new slideshow'.
3. You can add music and effects.
4. When your finished, go to the 'share' menu bar at the top and select 'send to iDVD'.
5. Then you can burn it to DVD.
You can also use imovie to create a movie and then share it to IDVD.
Hope this helps, post back with results. -
Making a jpg slide show.
I have a set of images that I would like to put at the top like a banner. I want the images to fade in and fade out and play constantly when the person arrives at the page. These images are .jpg's. I would appreciate if someone could give me an example of the code to do this so I can input my images in into the code.
THank you!

Desktop Background - Slide Show - Fast Cycling Issue
I have an issue with my PC since upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1. I have even tried a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and I am still having this issue. Not sure what the problem is and I'm looking for some pointers on how I can troubleshoot it.
What I do is set ANY Windows Theme, or any desktop background set of pictures, with more than one picture. I select the option to shuffle the background with various times from 10 minutes to hourly on when to change the background.
The issue is that 2 or 3 times a day the background starts quickly cycling, at a rate of a new background every second. This last about a minute and then it goes back to normal.
I know one solution would be to select one picture, but I am looking for a solution to get this to work as it should. Could this be a video card issue? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!Hi,
It's really strange about this problem. Since a fresh installation can't fix this problem, We should consider the hardware problem or system installation disc problem.
I need to confim that whethter this problem occures as soon as system reinstalled? Did your computer join into domain? If this is Video card driver problem, you need to check Graphic Driver edition firstly, make sure it is compatible with Windows 8.1. What
about uninall Graphic driver and use system build in driver?

Blu-Ray slide show photo rotation
I am making Blu-Ray slide shows using Premier Elements 11 from albums created in Elements 11. In the finished slide shows many of the pictures are not correctly rotated. The compiler is pulling the original photo from My Pictures and not from the album; the photos were correctly rotated in the albums. Is there a fix for this? Is the only solution to go through 5,000 photos in My Pictures and rotate the photos that were taken vertically?
Do a search, and you'll see lots of issues with Encore Bluray slideshows. I do not know what the formula may be for success. I do not use them.
Yes, a plain slideshow has one mts per slide. A slideshow with transition but no zoom/pan has one per slide and one per transition. A slideshow with transition and zoom/pan has one per slide with the full duration per mts.
A variety of quality issues have been reported, but I don't recall the color flashes issue. I get what looks very similar to me.
I recommend doing the slideshow in Premiere, and just having no control for the user. One person reported making a chapter point for each slide, and that allowed some advance.
You can get a clean slide using no transitions and no pan/zoom; H264 for project settings (used for slideshows) is the recommendation when Mpeg results in poor slideshow quality. -
PSE 9 Slide Show error message
I get message "The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor installed Codec) when I try to add a song from Itunes library to a slideshow. What doies this mean? How do I fix it? I tried in on my Dell and Toshoba laptops. Same thing happened. Thanks.

I exported to Premiere & burned a DVD. Pixelated on my computer as well as my near new LCD TV.
Whats wrong with this PSE process - anyone know?
more information may help analyze your problem
1 -- What are the pixel dimension of the photo files that are used in this slide show ?
2 -- Did you add Pan or zoom when making the PSE slide show ?
3 -- When you say you exported to Premiere Elements,
-- did you only make the DVD menus and burn the DVD disc in Premiere Elements ? OR
-- did you also Edit the video in Premiere Elements using its Timeline or Scenes functions ?
4 -- Are you creating the DVD as Widescreen (16:9) or as Full Screen (4:3 aspect ratio) ?
General comments --
Since you are creating a DVD (which is standard definition with pixel dimensions of 720 x 480 for NTSC in USA or 720 x 576 for PAL) inputing a high pixel resolution photo file to the slide show process can actually produce a lesser quality image in the DVD video in the final image. Generally recommended are using a photo editor for downsizing the photofile resolution to approx 1000 x 750 for 4:3 aspect ratio before you start making the slide show.
If you respond that you did use pan or zoom and you respond that you worked with (edited) the slide show video in Premiere Elements,
-- then there is a Premiere Elements parameter of Scale to Framesize that may be a significant factor in why you see pixelation.
-- Also it will be good to check the Premiere Elements project setting
When playing a DVD on a high resolution screen (either HD TV or computer monitor) the effectiveness of the upscaling hardware or software doing the playback is a factor in the quality of image that you see. I don't suspect that this is your only problem, but it can be a factor. -
I have created a slide show in PSE 9 with sharp JPEGs of @ 3MG each.
When viewing the photos in full screen, they are badly pixelated.
Any ideas? Thanks.tonystef wrote:

Premiere Elements 7 crashes on creating slide show
Hi Gurus,
I use Premiere Elements 7 for about 2 years and it works fine when I need to create a film from set of video fragments.
But I also need to create slide shows from pictires.
For some reason PRE7 crashs on building such slide show (at least, this is valid for a long enough slide show). It happens not always on the same slide, but approximately at the same percentage of the slide show to be built.
I run PRE7 on Windows XP, SP3 32-bit
What may be a reason of this crash? Conflict with some other software, installed on my computer? Lacking resources (I have 4 GBytes of memory, but Win 32-bit uses only 3.25 GBytes)? Known bug?
I tried to install the trial version of PRE9, but the result was even worse: it crashed even more quickly than PRE7. i.e. less slides were processed before the crash.
Any suggestion that can help to solve this issue will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
IliaIf you can handle smaller numbers of large images, but not larger numbers, it is likely a resource issue. It could be RAM, Virtual Memory, or similar.
This ARTICLE might be helpful for setting up your computer for an editing session, and freeing as many resources, as is possible. This ARTICLE discusses Virtual Memory.
PrE 9 will have about the same resource requirements, or might use a bit more, so a large number of large still images will remain a problem.
Good luck,
