Making Lower 3rd move on and off screen?

How can I make a lower 3rd that rises from the bottom off screen and displays for a few seconds and then lowers back down offscreen? Is this something that is done in motion?

Have you tried the resize button in the window corner upper right. There are 3 buttons one closes the window one minimizes it without closes it and the other one toggles between full screen and a smaller screen. Click the last one and see what happens.

Or, Zoom (not mouse zoom) may have been activated. To check for that, go to System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing and ,ake sure Zoom is turned off.
Note that there is a keyboard shortcut to enable and disable that Zoom. To prevent it from being accidentally activated, you can go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts, select Universal Access in the left pane, then uncheck the applicable items in the right pane.

New atv2 keeps flicking on and off screen

Hi, just got my brand new atv2, opened it up plugged it in and went through the wifi access details without an issue. But now the menu appears with movies highlighted but then it disappears offscreen and the tv does not receive a signal, I cant move between the options when it comes back on screen as it goes off in about a second.
I've held down the menu and down button as some of the topics suggest but nothing happens!!
Have I bought a dud device?? What can I do?

Need help with Low disk space issue and blue screen

Hi Everyone, just seen a message stating a low disk space on my Mac pro bought last November and tried plugging in an external hard drive to remove some pictures to free up some space but it seems that the computer did not have enough space left to start up and run the hard drive. I then tried to restart and ended up with a blue screen and have no knowledge now how to fix this problem. I phoned support but they say I have no technical support left but do have warranty and I would need to either try with the community here or take the unit to an apple store for an appointment. The store is an 1 and 1/2 from me and I really want o see if there is another fix that could allow me to start again then remove some files and then add external drive to remove more. I was blown away at the low amount of storage.....looked for the icloud option last night to upload there as i was told about this by a UK client of mine and now see it is not up and running. Any advice or help by the communtiy would be greatly appreciated as this is my business and travelling laptop. Cheers, Dean <")))><

Further notes: OSX needs about 15% or 10GB Free space minimum, but will run mucch faster/safer with 30-40% or 50GB of Free Space... Free Space is no longer ours to use.

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

Stuck between installing updates and off screen!?

One touch reset sleep timer and "off screen" podcasts app

anyone know how to suggest the following to apple?
In the podcasts app its such a pain to reset the sleep timer. If I awaken at night and I want to continue listening to my podcasts until I fall asleep there are five things I have to do:
1) look at the screen
2) select the sleep timer function
3) try to find the selection which set the length of time I want to "time out" playback
4 press done
5) press play
* additionally the screen remains on and does not turn off even if the iphone is flipped over.(proximity sensor should turn off the screen)
There has only been one app that has supported "blind one touch restart" of the sleep timer (just find the phone and touch anywhere on the screen) and also turn off the screen while iphone is turned onto its face (to save battery and keep room dark) and this app is no longer updated to work with the podcasts app.

3rd Gen Nano and Tilted screen

hi guys i bought the nano in Amsterdam with a tilted screen,
i live in Korea, i was wondering what the policy is with this tilted screens
shouldn't apple exchange mine with a new one?
but some people in a Korean forum are saying that they won't exchange ones bought from different countries.
doesn't apple have a worldwide policy?
this is bad quality stuff....this tilted screens...

I believe Apple's worldwide warranty applies to all their portable items, including iPods and notebook computers.
Have you tried calling Apple yourself? Please let us know what you find out.

Making Lower 3RDs in Photoshop

I've read about the differences with how Photoshop and FCP calculate Pixel Aspect Ratio.
1. Should I just keep the PAR in PS as the default of Square Pixels, and deal with it in FCP?
2. Should I avoid using any of the blank templates for video that PS has?
3. Which Color Profile should be selected?

Depending on what you are starting out with, an oddly sized graphic might distort to fill the nearest edges of the frame. You can get around that by pasting the graphic into a suitable video template.
If you plan on zooming or panning, it can make sense to build the graphic at a larger size than you need. In this case you can paste it into a frame that is a multiple of the original size. As an example, you are working in 720x480 and want to zoom from "behind the camera", build a graphic in a 1440x960 frame so it will be sharp all the way through.
With photos, it's more of an aesthetic decision. For example, how much of the subject do you need to show?
Many cameras only shoot in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Now, imagine you have a photo of someone that has to be in the center of a 16:9 frame and must be visible from head to toe...
Was the photo shot with this in mind? Or do you have visible edges when the subject is framed?

After export movies works and then is not working anymore?!

Hi guys,
i am capturing HD movies to my final cut express HD..Edit them, expert as quick time movie (option self contain is OFF). Then i test the movies and they are like they should be. Then i import them into IDVD and IDVD accept some and some not. So when i check the not accepted movies they only play the sound. While 10 minutes before the movie was working correct.
After a few times (making the same movies again and again on the same maner) IDVD accepted alle the movies. But when i wanted to burn the dvd it gives me a error about a missing movie file, again and again?
It worked all okay when i made my other dvds.
The only thing changed at this system is that i upgraded to Ilife'11
What am i doing wrong?

Could it be that the link is broken after i change the movie from folder to a >other folder ?

Sequence>Render Only>Mixdown.
This action makes one temp file out of all your audio. It makes a difference to exported files playing correctly in the audio department.

Flash "off screen"

I'm running Flash 8 Pro on windows and some how I've managed
to move it totally off-screen and I can't get it back. Maximising
Flash from the task bar partially works in that I can't re-position
and re-size it whilst maximised. I've got dual monitors and want to
re-size it across both monitors. Also, right-click and select Move
from Flash's system menu doesn't seem to work either.
How do I get Flash back onto the screen again?

On task bar. Right click and select Restore if active.
On task bar. Right click and select Move and use Arrow keys
to move so top left corner is withing monitor you need to make
adjustments.
Open a Flash Document or create a new one the select
If your current workspace needs protection.
Window->Workspace->Layout ->SaveCurrent. Supply a
name.
Then again Window->Workspace->Layout->Default.
Go from there.
