Making multiple tracks play as one track in a certain order during shuffle

Many albums have songs that are ment to be played in order as if they were one song such as a song with a prelude. On most CDs, these are stored as separate tracks that get played out of order during shuffle. Is there a way to link specific tracks together so they will always be played in order even during shuffle?

Can I have multiple volume levels in one track?

I have a track composed of audio from a cassette recorder of a now deceased relative's voice.
Since the cassette was turned on and off during recording, the recordings are at different volumes.
I have been able to import the cassette into a GarageBand project, and delete dead space, but now I find that the volume is not consistent.
Any way to remedy that? I am wondering if I need to chop it up and make more than one track, and adjust the volume on each track? Will this work as long as the tracks don't overlap?
And then do I send the finished product to iTunes in order to be able to use it in an iMovie?
Or can I drag it right from GarageBand to iMovie?

TS1389 I've purchased an album through the itunes store and every track plays except one which continually asks me to authorise my computer. I've tried all the steps suggested above but still no joy. Anyone have any ideas what i can do next? Thanks Pa

Sounds like you have a "damaged track" or "damaged file".
This worked for me today downloading Kendrick Lamar's new Album "good kid, m.A.A.d city".
My situation: I bought the album today for my Mac, MacBook Pro, iPad 2, and iPhone 4S devices.
Issue: One song (only on my MacBook Pro) would not play, instead display "
EX: left"
Solution: 1. Manually delete the song (giving you the error) permantly from the authorized computer.
2. Open iTunes, Click iTunes Store (left sidebar), and locate Quick Links and then click Purchased to proceed.
3. Click "Not On This Computer", find the song that wouldn't play, and re-download it again.
4. Check your Music Library for your song (Should download inside the associated album) and hit play.
EX: (Song I purchased that wouldn't play because of authorization, playing)

Manipulating Multiple Audio Clips Within One Track

Hello I need help with 2 issues!
Problem 1: I recorded in Audacity converted it and brought them into Soundbooth CS5. It turns out to be 208 clips that I now have on one track. When I edit/shorten one track (lets say clip 8) I have to individually select all other tracks to move them forward because there's space between clip 8 and 9 thru 200. How do I select track 9 thru 200 (highlight them all) without having to individually select all clips within the track?
Your help will grately shorten my editing time.
Problem 2: I have several clips that have 2 audio tracks by mistake. How do I split up the audio and keep the portion I want?

Select "Share" in the File menu, then QT export, expert setting, save as AIFF. (Optionally export just the selected clips)

Multiple embeds, play only one at a time?

I'm working on page with CD track info and I want to have a small quicktime play button by each song that will play a 30 second sample. I've already done this by just embedding each mp3 sample into the xhtml page. The problem is, a person can click on multiple tracks and they'll all play at the same time. Is there any way to get (attribute or javascript?) so that when some clicks on a track, the previously clicked track that is still playing (if there is one) will stop first?

...with the JavaScript API for QuickTime. I don't have an answer for you, but some of the attributes you are looking for are exposed to JavaScript. One trick is that to get the QuickTime plugin to do the heavy lifting for you, you need to insure that you are playing your clips in the QuickTime plugin (duh...). They may be MP3 files, but you might want to embed them in a .MOV container in order to make sure they don't get hijacked by some preferred audio player.
Of course, if you do that, you could, I suppose, just use a QuickTime reference movie to link all the media files together into a single player...

How can I export 6 mono tracks and a one track two channel stereo pair in a quicktime as separate tracks?

I'm using Premiere Pro CC 2014 (8.1) and need to export a 5.1 mix as well as the stereo tracks as 7 separate tracks in a quicktime. If I select 8 channels it automatically creates 8 tracks. Also, if I export the the seventh stereo track as mono track won't it play mono?

First of all thanks so much for the response and info. Just to clarify, you're saying I will need 8 tracks, 2 of which will be designated for the stereo pair, right? My concern is that I'm supposed to deliver only 7 tracks. They want the stereo pair as separate channels on one track. I'm wondering if I can create a one track stereo pair and put it on a stereo track, then export only the seven mono tracks (plus an empty track). Would the stereo still work?

Audio tracks playing different audio tracks - routing issue?

I'm having trouble with some routing issues I believe. Here's the deal:
Some audio tracks are playing different audio tracks, when that region is not even in it. For instance:
Track #2 is Soloed. Output is Output 1-2. I hear the audio file that is in Track #1, which is NOT Soloed and I shouldn't even hear. I don't hear anything from Track #2. The only way I can hear Track #2 is by playing it from the audio bin, which obviously isn't going to work out right.
If I drag the audio region of Track #2 to a brand new audio track, I still don't hear anything. Is it possible this audio file(s) got corrupted somehow?

Check the parameters, in the left side of the arrange page window.
To me, it sounds as if you have a bunch of arrange tracks, which are all playing back through audio track #1.

Copy and Paste audio track MIX from one track to another??

What's the best way to handle this.
I have a video with one long music track, that I mixed using Adobe Premiere's Audio Mixer.
The musician made a new version of the track with some very slight modifications in the music.
Rather than having to remix the entire new track, I would prefer to either:
1) Copy and paste the attributes of the orginal audio track onto the new music track -- retaining the Mix I did from the original mix. Is this possible? I tried it once and it did not seem to work. (I used the Mixer, not keyframes, to do all of the mix.)
or
2) Is there a setting in Premiere's Audio mixer to "gang" the new track to the old one -- with the new track cloning the old track's mix.
Or would it be better to bring the two audio tracks into Soundbooth and do it there?

I did a complicated mix on one long background music track and was not looking forward to doing that remix because of various minor music changes made by the musician scattered throughout that long track.
Your Alt (for replace solution) worked perfectly and saved me a ton of time.
The fact that Copy attributes for Audio doesn't work for copying audio keyframes is another reason do do audio mixes using the Mixer instead of using keyframes to adjust volume.

Making multiple songs play during a slideshow

I have a slideshow I created in iDVD 6 that is approximately 35 minutes. I would like to have several different songs cycle through as the slideshow runs. I created a playlist in iTunes with the songs I want. When I'm editing the slideshow and I click the media button and then the audio button, it gives me my iTunes song list, but not any of the playlists I've created in iTunes. What am I doing incorrectly? As it is, I can only get a single song to play on a loop during the slideshow. Thanks for any guidance.

Welcome to discussions, Chris
Burn your Playlist to an audio CD.
Then open that CD in iTunes.
Highlight all of the songs.
Go to Advanced and select Join CD Tracks.
That will make one long song in your iTunes library that you can import into your project.

Why video with two audio tracks imports like one track (main)?

Ok, lets face one simple thing that is incredibly stupid in Premiere CC:
- I make video with two audio tracks (screencast with system sounds and microphone, separated)
- Import it to Premiere CC and see only one audio track, system sounds!
- What should I do to see both of them?
- Why Sony Vegas don't make me to go to support forums and make them both visible without extra actoins?

All tracks burn to one track

A friend of mine is trying to burn a playlist of 6 songs to CD. After it burns and he puts it into his truck's CD player, it says that there are 6 tracks, but tracks 2-6 are empty and all 6 songs are on the first track. What's up with that?
When I burn him songs from my iTunes, everything works as it should, so I don't think it's his CD player in his truck that's screwed up.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? He's using a PC running Windows XP.

That was actually helpful because before your answer I was pretty convinced that there was something in the preference pane I needed to mess with. I was getting really frustrated because there was nothing there. Your message made me look more at the mixer (way more than I already was). This whole project is in SP and doesn't have ties to FCP at all. I'm still trying to get used to which channels need to be open for what (control room etc.). I'm not sure if those are terms coined by Alesis or if they're general terms. Anyway, run a podcast and keep everything open so that I can play music directly from iTunes. Basically, everything being played was getting into the mixer. Had I gotten an email, the notification would have been recorded. Everything was fixed with the push of a button.

Making multiple buttons out of one picture?

Ok this is probably a daft question but I'm a complete novice so bear with me. I need to know if it's possible to upload a picture to my Flash stage (a row of buttons I made in photoshop) and then somehow select each of these buttons and turn them into working button symbols? Or do I have to (very annoyingly) upload each button as a seperate picture in a seperate layer before turning it into a button symbol?

kglad knows much, much more than I do and actually helped me out the other day. But, I think I could elaborate a little. Below is exactly what he said, step by step.
Draw a square> right click> > convert to symbol> name it generic button> ok> double click button> go to the hit frame> right click> insert frame> go to the up frame> right click> insert key frame> click in the up frame again> delete> go back to scene 1
The button now is transparent (kind of). This generic button is just that a generic button. You can duplicate it or drag it multiple times from the library panel. Place as many as you need on stage. Ex. you have 5 generic buttons on stage. Flash cannot tell the difference between each button. You need to give each button an instance name, so flash knows what button you're talking about when you start writing the code for it.
Next
click on a button> properties panel> give instance name (first_btn)> repeat for each button second_btn,, third_btn etc...
Then write the code to control each button.

Play one track then stop - please !

Is it not possible ( Using windoes version) to make Itunes only play one track - we use itunes for a simple form of djing, but do not need mixing cross fading etc. - Iust need it to play one track from the library, and while thats playing I want to find the next one, but it not be played until I am ready. I dont want to go through the pain of making a new play list each track.
Is this a feature/mode that has been requested alot - I would have though so

No itunes does not have a queuing feature.
The nearest I have been able to get to it is to create a temporary playlist and put the first track to be played in it. Then set the playlist playing and as long as you don't let the last track end, you can add tracks from your library while it is playing by selecting a track in the library, right clicking and using add to playlist. But that's no good if you want to make an announcement in between tracks.
If you do not want iTunes to advance automatically, you can uncheck the little check boxes to the left of the name column. Then you have to set each track playing manually.
