Making Public the Default Group Pages

Hello,
We are working with Portal 9.0.2 and need to make "Public" (no login needed to access) a Group Pages. I 've tried to change Access parameters, but only singular pages have this option.
Is there any other way to make "public" this pages group in order to be the Home of my Portal?
Thanks in advance,
Izzat

Hello again,
I suppose that I didn´t explain nicely what wanted to say. I believe that in Portal you can place several websites, I mean more than I company Portal. So the problem is that I want to make the main url string of one of the websites, for example:
http://castor.corp.itccanarias.org:7777/portal/page?_pageid=134,34601&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL
the Home page for that website, but always appear the Single Sign on asking for authentication. How can I set that Page public in such a way that the contents can be seen for everbody?. That denys that in same pages, inside the website there could be a zone of pages with authentication?
Thanks in advance
Izzat

  • How do I set the default welcome page for PUBLIC user

    gurus,
    i'm using -
    Oracle 9i Database
    Oracle 9ias Portal Release 2
QUESTION => how do I set the default welcome page for the PUBLIC user.
i did the following to achieve this -
    1. logged into portal
    2. clicked on builder
    3. clicked on administer tab
    4. selected PUBLIC user in the Portal User Profile portlet
    5. went to the preferences tab
    6. in the default home page selected a custom page group
    7. logged out of portal
    8. open a new browsere session
    9. type the portal URL and i get the login page ....??
i'm unable to understand this behavior ... shouldn't i be getting the page group that i set for the PUBLIC user in step 6 above ....
the second QUESTION is => when the user logs out he/she should see the PUBLIC page set in step 6 above ... but, instead the user sees a page that is as follows -
Partner Application Name Logout Status [Logout Status]
    Oracle Portal (portal) logout status
    The SSO Server (orasso) checkmark
    buzz.resva.trw.com:7778 checkmark
    infrastructure.happy.resva.trw.com checkmark
    portal1.buzz.resva.trw.com checkmark
    portal2.sylvester.resva.trw.com checkmark
    sylvester.resva.trw.com:7778 checkmark
so, how can i set the default page for the PUBLIC user and also a page when he user logs out.
    ideas anyone ....?
    thanx a bunch.
    hero

    Hi,
The sequence of operation you are doing to set the home page for public users is correct. You are getting the login screen as the "custom page group" selected as "home page" has not been granted to public.
Also, while logging-out, it is normal behaviour to get the screen where it shows the list of partner applications from where user has been logged-out. When you click on "Return" button, you will get to the "home page" set above.
    Hope it clarifies the things.
    Regards,
    Ved

  • Unable to change the default login page

I would to change the default login page (to /content/ethz_ch/Login)
I configured tha page by "Day CQ Login Selector Authentication Handler":
    In ./launchpad/config/com/day/cq/auth/impl/LoginSelectorHandler.config I see
    auth.loginselector.defaultloginpage="/content/ethz_ch/Login"
    as expected.
I then configured a page (/content/ethz_ch/de/auth_test.html) with a closed user group and left the login page field blank.
Instead on the newly defined login page I am redirected to
    https://..../system/sling/cqform/defaultlogin.html?resource=%2Fcontent%2Fethz_ch%2Fde%2Fauth_test.html&$$login$$=%24%24login%24%24
Any idea on what I am doing wrong?

Try 1 & 2 if does not work please file a daycare for further assistance.
    1.   In "Day CQ Login Selector Authentication Handler" for path info add an empty row then verify.
    2.   Delete the existing entry for "Day CQ Login Selector Authentication Handler" , Configure your custom at repository level & verify

  • Where is the default group information stored for a portal user?

    Hello -
There is a field in the WWSEC_PERSON$ table called DEFAULT_GROUP, and it is populated with an ID from the WWSEC_GROUP$ table but it seems like there is more to the overall picture here.
If I try to manually update a users group via SQL,
    UPDATE WWSEC_PERSON$ SET DEFAULT_GROUP = 318 WHERE USER_NAME = 'XXXXXXX'
Then check the portal profile for the user 'XXXXXXX' I do not see their 'Default Group' as being updated. (However the default group is in effect because these users are sent to the correct group when they log in.
What do I need to modify for the group name to show up for the user on their profile page?

    Yannick -
Thank you for the reply. Do you know which table is used in OID? Basically why I need to do this is we hire many new employees every week and create accounts in AD. We sync AD -> OID but the people who create the new users never inform me that they have been created so they never get a default group assigned. This causes them to go to the 'Portal Builder' page when they login to the portal.
To fix this issue Im writing a powershell script to automatically update the default group of all employees that do not have a default group assigned. Do you know if a better method I can accomplish this for bulk OID records automatically? I'm very much open new/better ideas this was the best method I could think of currently.
    Thanks again.

  • How to change the default code page in SAP?

My colleague tries to download a report in Excel but she is having some problems with the output as each of the lines are all included in one cell. When I download the same report, my output is fine and the columns in the lines are properly aligned in various columns in Excel.
I noticed that her code page is 4110 and mine is 1160.
    4110     Unicode UTF-8
    1160     Microsoft 1252, Superset of ISO 8859-1
As a workaround, I just asked her to modify the code page to 1160 everytime she downloads a report. I want to know how this setting is derived.
    My questions are:
    1) Is there a way to set the default code page?
    2) Is this a problem with the SAP version? If she downloads another SAP GUI, will the issue be gone?
    Thanks!
    Joey

1, You can change the codepage in SAPGUI: Select the system => Properties => Others
2, Could be, best is to have the same and most up to date SAPGUI for all

  • How can I set the default home page for all new users in Firefox 4

I'm trying to deploy FF 4.0rc1 in a corporate environment but I can't find a way to set the default home page or any other settings for that matter.
Is there a way to set the default home page for all new users and lock it so that the users can't change home page?
    Best regards
    Jonas

In Firefox 4 the template folder for new profiles (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile\
) doesn't exist. You can create that \defaults\profile\ folder and place a file user.js in it with the prefs that you want to initialize.
    See:
You can also use a mozilla.cfg file to set the default value for prefs.<br />
    See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • "Oslo.Master" set as the The default Master Page, but when record selected in "List View Web Part" page shifts to the right.

    Hi All,
I have set "Oslo.Master" as the The default Master Page for the site.   I have a page with a List View web part and an InfoPath Web Part connected.  When the page loads is it displayed correctly.  However, when a record
is selected and the infopath web part is updated, the content on the page shifts (indents) to the right.
Is there something I am missing?   Does anyone know how to correct this?
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hi Dwayne,
I could reproduce this, as a workaround, we can use javascript code as below to hide the element in the following image.
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.min.js"></script>
    <script>
    $(document).ready(function(){
    $('#contentBox').prev().hide();
    </script>
    Thanks

  • How to setup the default run page in WAR file

Can anyone please tell me how to setup the default run page in WAR file using JDeveloper? I want the login page to be the default page of the application. Thanks!

This is usually done in an .XML or other configuration file based on the particular web application container you are using.
For example, in Tomcat Java Container, its the following parameter in the /conf/web.xml file:
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>index.html</welcome-file>
    <welcome-file>index.htm</welcome-file>
    <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
You will need to look at the documentation for your server container.
    thanks

    Dear forum,
I want to add additional text to the default login page of the Webcenter domain, so the http://<server_name>:16200/<domain_name> page.
How can this best be done? Is it configurable via the Weblogic console somehow?

  • Problem in EP while changing the layout of the default portal page

i am working with EP7.in this i encountered a problem when i tried to change the layout of the default framework page.
i created a new layout in NWDS and uploaded it to portal.then i copied the default framework page to separate folder (my personal) and assigned the newly created layout and set that page as my default framework page.
but whenever i log into the portal or refreshes the page the top level navigation iview merges (overlaps) with the masthead iview and comes back to the assigned position after some time.i tried many ways to solve this problem but i couldnt.
if anybody have any idea about it please share.....

  • Hide content ID from the Default checkin page.

    Hi..
How to hide the default checkin page from the default checkin page. I get a checkin page in my Contribution Folders, where i can checkin items. There i need to hide Content Id.
I already have rules and profiles which are working to hide Content ID at other places. But here it is not able to hide Content ID.
I get the heading my that page as "Content Check In Form (Folder) " ..
Can anyone tell me how to hide "Content ID" for this type...
    Thanks
    Saurabh Anand

    Hi,
Use configuration variables IsAutoNumber=true at config.cfg file - Content ID (dDocName) is automatically assigned to each new content item upon checkin.
    Thanks,

  • Firefox hangs on the default Start Page

    Hey.
I'm having a rather odd problem where Firefox hangs for about ten seconds while loading the default home page. It has worked just fine for years, and then suddenly yesterday every time I open a new tab or start Firefox (basically anything that would take me to the start page,) I get a 10-15 second hang.
I've confirmed this by changing the homepage to the old "http://www.google.com/firefox" which completely fixes the issue. No other pages do it, only the start page.
I've tried safe mode, but I knew it wouldn't yield any results as I've not changed configuration in any way for years.
I've tried updating to the most recent version of Firefox, this also had no effect.
I tried backing up my profile and resetting Firefox, of course still no effect.
Finally I tried completely uninstalling all Mozilla products, then sweeping the registry for any of their keys, then reinstalling it all. Still hangs on the start page.
So that this point I just restored my backed up profiles, scratched my head and came here.
The obvious solution would be to change homepage, but I can't let it beat me. =P
Anyone have any ideas? I'm pretty stumped at this point.

-Pokes up- I did, and its reply is simply 0 then does nothing.
My firefox version is also not old, I just downloaded a new instillation trying to fix this.

  • Modify the default framework page

    Hi all,
I need to create a new portal framework page. This needs to differ from the Default framework page only in the KM navigation links. I have a different KM folder to point to in the new framework page.
I tried creating a separate page with my KM navigation iview and adding it to the desktop inner page. But this didnt help, because i now have the new KM links, that I added to the navigation panel of the desktop inner page + the old links in the content area( that is what I think) .Anyway both the KM links are now visible side-by-side.
Can someone tell me how to modify only the KM navigation links in the default framework page?
    -Ashwini.

    Hi Ashwini,
So as per your reply I guess you already have an iView ready which you want to place on the navigation panel.
    Ok, it goes like this:
    1. Copy the Default Framework Page from Portal Users -> Standard Portal Users into your own development folder.
    2. Open the copied page for editing. Select Desktop Inner Page. And click on Open. In the Page Content you'll find an iView for Dynamic Navigation. Uncheck the visible check box next to it.
    3. Add your own developed iView to this Page. You can do this by right-clicking on your iview and then say "Add iview to Page Delta Link". Make this newly added iView Visible and fixed.
    4. To make sure it appears correctly, click on the Page Layout radio button and see that the iviews are arranged correctly. If required you can drag and place them wherever you wish.
    5. Now, you need to make a desktop which consists of a Framework + theme. To do this go to System Admin -> Portal Display.
While your desktop is in edit mode. Right Click on your framework which you edited and Say "Add framework to Desktop". Down below you will find a themes folder. Add any theme in the same fashion to your desktop.
Next go to Portal Administrators -> Super Administrators -> Master Rule collection.
Here you have to put you rule. Its self explanotory.
But make sure you do this correctly.
    That does it.
Please let me know if I answered your question.

  • In the BOM grouping page...

In the BOM grouping page, how can one make it display the functional location of each instrument?

Pages 4.3 should still be in an iWorks folder within your Applications folder.
You can run both at the same time, but be careful to open docs in the version you want.
