Making spanish accents in pages on ipad2

How do i make spanish accents using pages? I have made the spanish keyboard but can't figure out how to do the accents....some come up automatically with the Spanish spell check, but others don't.

If you tap an hold down on the keyboard for the letter that needs the accent - options pop up for the accents ... Such as the letter a ...ãàá. Tap, hold down and slide your finger to the correct choice without lifting your finger. This may help.

Problem with Spanish accented characters in some sites (e.g. "é" shows as "eacute")

Spanish accented vocals are not being shown correctly at some pages of a site that I use often (https-based online banking). Note that not all pages at that site show this problem.
On the problematic pages, all accented vocals are shown as a combination of the "&" character plus such vocal (unaccented) plus the "acute" string.
For example:
"Información" shows up as "Informaci&oacuten" ---> note that "ó" was replaced by "&oacute"
"Débitos" shows up as "D&eacutebitos" ---> note that "é" was replaced by "&eacute"
I tried many Unicode & Western character encoding options, including UTF-8 which is my default option, with no improvements (actually, using any encoding option different from UTF-8 breaks those pages that previously worked fine at that site).
Note that this happened even before I installed the DownThemAll! extension.
Internet Explorer does not present this problem.

It is possible that those entities are in the page code as &amp; or that they are missing a closing ';'
See View > Page Source or select that text and use "View Selection Source" in the right-click context menu.

If part of your issue has to do with Spanish-language accents, here's a guide (works everywhere in the Mac OS, not just within iWork):
OPTION-e and tap a vowel gives you the acute accents á é í ó ú
OPTION-n and tap n gives you the ñ
OPTION-1 gives you the inverted exclamation mark ¡
OPTION-SHIFT- / gives you the inverted question mark ¿

Could you please let me know exactly which are the files you would like to reload because of the spanish accents issue (i.e: Risk description)?
To re-upload the files that contain description is not a problem for the rules eventhough they are already generated.
The rules are created based on function-action and function-permission files and such files do not contain descriptions.

I am facing issues in mails that have French / Spanish accented characters in mail subject.Accented characters appear as Question marks (?) when received in the inbox.Mail subject is read from properties file.
Please let me know the following
- Should I have the entries in properties file in Unicode ? For example French accent character � is represented as á
- Should I replace msg.setSubject(subject); to msg.setSubject(subject,"UTF-8");

Spanish Accents not displayed

When I receive xml that includes spanish accents using
XMLSockets, the accents are replaced with a square eg.
aqu�ra instead of aquípara.
I am trying to dispaly the xml in the trace window so it
should not be font dependant. I can paste the accents into a text
box in the swf and it displays correctly. I have tested the xml
server using VB.net at both ends and the text appears correctly. It
seems to be when Flash decodes the xml. Can you suggest a work
around to this.

I checked do not track but when I reboot it's unchecked. I can't keep the main page MSNBC when I reboot after making it my start page. I asked to clear history on exit but when I reboot it back at never delete.

When I reboot after checking the box NOT to track it is unchecked. After making MSNBC my starting page and I reboot it goes back to Mozilla Firefox and another tab comes up with it Mozilla Firefox Start Page, how do I get rid of the second tab and keep MSNBC? I also selected to NEVER keep history to delete it when I exit and after rebooting it has keep history.

Try the following:
close iWeb.
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
reboot.
launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
launch iWeb and try again.

I don't think that iBooks offers animation for page turning pdfs. But all iOS devices use gestures for turning pages etc.
iBooks in Mavericks is turning out to be as big a pain as iWork in Maverick.

Thanks for the reply.
I did read the help and went through the tutorial - the butterfly text wrap (and the wrap around the curved contour of the bicycle wheel at the Apple store) is the reason I am asking this question. I don't know how to use one of my own pictures and tell Pages what contour to wrap around. Is there some additional image editing software that I need to "creatively crop" one of my own pictures, so that Pages will be able to wrap around that contour?

Does the Spanish spellchecker in Pages know about accents?

Pages spell checker for the Spanish language does not identify words missing the accent. Is this a shortcoming? Because in Spanish they use quite a bit of accents.
Anyone has encountered this?

Have you done any maintenance on the computer? If not restart the computer with the Shift key pressed until you see a bar emerging. Then log in and try Pages. Then restart without pressing the shift key and log in.
Open the Disk Utility application in the Utility folder. Run the repair permissions.
Try Pages and see if it works better now.

Spanish accents won't show up

I help out a website with Spanish-language content on it and
I'm having trouble with the accents. In the Dreamweaver file on my
computer, the accents show up fine. It is on the web that they end
up as question marks. Is there anything I can do? This website has
been up for a couple years and it is only in the past 6 months that
this problem has come up. Could it be because I am now using
Dreamweaver 8? THANK YOU!

Spanish accent characters are not displayed proper in excel file

I have written a program which displays one report file (.xls file ) on the browser.
This report file is in spanish language and contains few accent characters like
("� � � � � � �"). These characters are not displyed properly in that excel file which is opened in the browser. I have used utf-8 encoding method. I tried with some other encoding methods available. But still this problem continues.
Kindly provide me help as soon as possible.

File is generated through a java bean at runtime and it is not stored pgysically.
If I copy these characters from somewhere to new xls file then it will be displayed properly.
Sample code which is used for setting headers is as below:

How to add missing garamond font in pages on ipad2

Hi,
Just wonder if anyone might be able to help me out. I have recently downloaded pages on my iPad2 running on IOS5 because I'd like to be able to use it to work with word documents. I noticed that in pages, there is no garamond fonts from the font drop-down list. Is there any way I can insert the garamond font into pages?
The other things I have noticed from working word documents in pages is when it comes to bullet points in the content, it actually adds more space between lines of text. Because I was playing to see if I can open and edit word docs from pages and send them back to my PC which has got microsoft word 2010. When I compared them, there were a slightly different in the document (before and after). Apart from the bullet points issue, I do not see anything else that may cause discrepancies.
