Making the background transparent in export from cinema 4d to AE CC

I'm using Cinema 4D to create a 3d object and then import it into AE CC. When I import it in, the grey grid in the background is visible. I want to make the background transparent, so that all you can see is the object in AE. How can I do this?

This is not a matter of transparency. You are seeing what you are seeing because you are looking at the draft software rendering result.
Choose Standard (Final) from the Renderer menu in the Cineware effect.

As long as your file is not too huge you can also copy it and paste into Photoshop. I often find this quicker than exporting.
You can then save in whatever format you please.
This method also gives you the opportunity to copy/paste your Illy file in parts, thereby producing more layers in Photoshop and giving you the opportunity to add Photoshop layer effects.
Use corner rectangles to ensure registration between layers – just ask if you don't know how to do this.

The incident is extremely annoying and I am dissapointed with Apple's services. With Apple being a fortune 500 company, why would it resort to ripping off a customer.

If you were instructed to call them, then that's what you should do. They will probably need to verify your identity before helping you with the security question.

How to export with the background transparent.

Hi guys..
Usually I use primatte in motion... but Ive got a need for a feathered edge and fcp chromokey is better this time. Sometimes I put a solid colour on the lower layer and send this out, then primatte this again. How can I avoid this step and send out as image sequence tagas to motion, which supports transparent layer. Where is the background setting on fcp and can it be set to transparent?
This setting in motion is in preferences, but cant seem to find it in fcp.
I have also tried sending this keyed clip to motion... but it always crashes... with Pro media issues.... so trying to get around this.

Ive been trying too export as animation....
but I just keep getting the pro media crash... and fcp bombs out... maybe there is something wrong with the sequence, I originally imported. I will try again with ahnother problem, with another set of clips, and see if I can get it to work then... Tanks anyway. Maybe I have more than 1 problem here.

Project: I have photographs that need to dissolve into each other and play like a movie. The photos are not all the same shape (horizontal, vertical and square) so that when I bring them into FCP, of course to accommodate the various shapes there is space around them, which is black.
I want to export the movie to play in a Keynote presentation but i want the slide background to be visible as the photos transform from horizontal ones to the vertical ones. How can I do this?
In Livetype, when i render a movie I can tell it not to render the background, then I get a transparent effect to import into FCP or Keynote. but I don't think I can dissolve photos into each other without putting them on separate layers and adjusting opacity ... not time efficient for me, especially with over 100 photos to work with in all.
I suppose if push comes to shove i can export the slide background to FCp and just layer it under the photos, but I was hoping to try the transparency route. (would it mean making a mask for each photo?)
Any advice would be helpful, thank you

Background missing when exporting from indesign to pdf

Sometimes when I export a file from indesign to pdf, my background doesn't show up. The background is just a block of solid colour, or gradient. The background block of colour is usually the full size of the page. I've tried to play around to see what is causing this to happen and sometimes if I reduce the size of the block to say, 1/3 of the page then the block of colour shows up, but then when I make it the full size of the page as I actually need it to be, the colour block doesn't show up when I export it to pdf (i've tried all the different pdf presets and it doesn't make a difference)??? Does anyone know why and how to fix it?

I believe export is an ID option, not an Acrobat option. In that case, you probably should ask in the ID forum.

Making Image Backgrounds Transparent

Hi,
I have a gradient background, but I want to add some images
on top of it. The problem is that they have white backgrounds and
(obviously) look out of place against my gradient background.
What I want is to have the gradient under the image, so I
want the background on the imported images to be transparent.
Is there any way I can alter this to make the image
transparent so it fits seemlessly with my design.

I just got through doing this, so I can help!
Copy the image you want to import to the clipboard and paste
it into your
work file. Then select the magic wand tool (it's in the
Bitmap toolbox
next to the marquee and lasso tool) and click anywhere on the
white
background of the image you just pasted. It'll magically
select the
background around the object. Press delete key. Voila.
if your object has "holes" in it, repeat the process for the
holes. If
you have a complex object with lots of holes, instead of
hitting delete
in the above step, instead choose from the menu Select >
Select similar,
then hit delete.

Making widget background transparent for use in a DPS article

Hello all
Am trying to make the background of a widget totally transparent. Is this possible.
I created an accordion widget in Muse, exported the page to HTML and then loaded that file into a web content overlay frame (thanks Bob for your assistance).
I made the background of both the accordion header and body copy no fill (along with the stroke).
But when loaded the HTML file into Indesign, I'm left with a white background.
Have searched the net for a solution, with an joy.
Anyone come across this problem/issue??

How do you change the music for an export from a selection of pictures?

I have iTunes and know how to change the music for a slideshow but if I select pictures from a folder and export to QuickTime how do I change the music?
There is an option to "Add currently selected music to movie" but it always plays the same tune. How do I get an option to select an iTunes song like with the Slideshow? Where are the slideshow sample music files stored? There are 11 files in the sample folder but I can't find any of them on my drive.

Maybe there is some confusion in what I'm telling you. There are two types of slideshows in iPhoto. One creates a special slideshow album that appears in the Source pane on the left side. This is not the one I'm talking about. (You create one of these slideshow albums when you select some photos and click the Slideshow icon (the one with a Plus sign on it) at the bottom of the iPhoto window.
The other slideshow is done from the main library window or from a regular album (not a slideshow album). You either select some photos (or a roll) from the Library or select an album (with a folder icon). Then click the Play button which is on the bottom right hand side of the iPhoto window.
If your Play button is on the left side, then you aren't using the correct one. The one that appears on the left side shows when you've selected a Slideshow Album from the source pane. This type of album has an icon that looks like a couple of slides (the kind you put in a projector).
Does that make a difference?

The only way to this can not be "export to media" or devices and from there to you tube?

Yes, i found it there. In fact; a logic place...
The second q. means the way you load upo; dirtectly from the menu share to you tube of first make a QT and from there to the sky.
I quess there must be no differance but you never know...

Can I write a new email + set the background 2 anything apart from white?

This has been driving me mad all day (and last night!) and i am sure I am being really stupid!
I want to write a new email to a group and I want the background to be a different colour other that white - I can see how i can change the colour of the font but not the background of the actual email.
Please help as this is seriously doing my head in!!!

Ok, it took me some time to find it out, but here is how it works:
* Compose the message and make sure it's composed in Rich Text.
* Click the Fonts button in the toolbar
* Pick the 4th icon from the left (Document color)
Here comes the buggy part:
* Set the background color (it doesn't reflect in the message)
* Save the message as Draft and close it
* Re-open the message
--> colored background
Not the most intuitive solution…but it works.

Making the background white

Can someone help me make the background of my application white ?
All it does is display a simple curve in a window.
Here's the structure:

It's a really simple program. But I just can't seem to get the background white. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

The setOpaque(true) statement worked except it created a few wierd errors.
I forgot to tell you that I programmed my curve to be able to be moved by the user. Using mouse listeners and so on. But now, after setting opaque to be true, it won't refresh the screen after the user moves it. The old line stays and is not erased.
