Making the subject only black and white?

Still kind of new to AF (using AF CC) and here's one I can't figure out. I've been through the manual and the You Tube tutorials, but no help. I have a color shot of a room that a man walks through. I want the room to remain in color, but the walking man to be black and white (sort of a ghost thing I guess). Other then many hours of rotoscoping, is there a simple way to do this? That's it. Thanks for any help!

Try using Rotobrush to separate the subject from the background. You won't have a single bit of luck with Rotobrush unless you read up on it and run tutorials. In AE Help, use the search term rotobrush and a boatload of useful information appears.
Got the subject all rotoed nicely? Make the subject B&W and put it over the original color shot.

Follow the steps below to print using Black Ink only:
1. From the application used to print, click the File menu and select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized: Click the Show Details button to see all available settings.
2. To access the color options, click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
3. Select Paper Type/Quality from the drop-down menu.
4. Click the triangle next to Color Options to expend the settings.
5. Set the Color field as Grayscale.
6. Set the Grayscale Mode as Black Ink Cartridge Only.
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset...
Any used preset will remain default so simply select teh standard preset to print in color.

The Best HP Black and White Laser Printer with e-print

Please could someone let me know the best HP Laser printer (Black cartridge only) to use in an office environment that has the e-print facility. It will be used frequently and will be printing multiple page PDF attachments from e-mails. Anyones guidance as to which e-print machine to buy will be most appreciated. Many thanks Simon

Other color LaserJet products that support e-print are the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415 Series and the CP1525 Series.

Color LaserJet 2605dn Printing only Black and white

I have a Color Laserjet 2605dn and all of the color ink cartridges have run dry. However the Black cartridge has over 2,000 pages of ink in it and the printer will not let me prink only Black and White. It seems the color cartridges must also have ink in them in order for the printer to print. Does anyone know a work around so that I can print with the Black Cartridge and not purchase the color cartridges?

Why can't I use the fade to black and white option in iMovie '11?

I have a project that uses a few photos with one minute duration timers I want to slowly fade from color to black and white but the fade to options are all greyed out... Am I over looking something or doing something wrong?

Sorry, but I wasn't suggesting that you use Fade to Black or Fade to White, just explaining what they do, given that you used the term "fade" in your first post. I assumed you may have been using the Fade to Black transition (which won't achieve what you want).
I suggested that you use Cross Dissolve, but I need to explain further how to achieve the effect you are looking for. First, you need to place a copy of the photo directly after the original. Make sure Ken Burns is turned off - use Fit. Now double-click on the copy to bring up the Clip Inspector. Click on Effects and select Black & White, then click Done. Drag a Cross Dissolve transition between the 2 clips (photos) and adjust the duration to your liking in the Inspector. Now you will see the effect your are looking for.
The key is to have an exact copy of the photo following the original, then change the copy to Black and White (or Sepia or any other effect), then insert the Cross Dissolve (or Cross Blur etc.) transition.

You have the iPhone in your profile, but people's profiles here are often incomplete or very outdated. It's better to be specific. And part of the problem is that I can't find any Belkin composite cables for connecting an iPhone to a TV, either on the Apple Store or the Belkin site. The closest I found is this Belkin video cable, which doesn't specify exactly what kind of connection it is.
For the most relevant assistance, you've got to post in the iPhone forum and specify the cable by providing a link to exactly which cable you're using.

For the second collection, choose the option to make virtual copies. Then you can turn the virtual copies to black & white, leaving the first collection in color. If you want file copies of the B & W images you can export copies.

Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details since even your terminology is confusing. there are no "pages" in Photoshop. What you describe in vague terms could be anything from your target document having a different color mode/ color profile to some hardware acceleration issue, but we really can't make any sense of it based on your information.

In the Print & Scan system preferences, does it indicate it is using a generic printer driver or a Gutenprint driver?
Also, if you click on Options & Supplies, you might want to check and see if has to be enabled. That kind of sounds odd though.
Another thing is it might not be showing. If the bottom of the print dialog has a button that says "Show Details," click it. Then, you can change settings in the popup menu.

My printer will not print in color, only black and white.

I have an Epson NX 420. I have set it up to my laptop, and am able to print off of my computer. But when I go to print a document out of pages, even though it says it is in the color mode it only will print out in Black and White. Is there something I should be downloading? I do know that the printer can and does print in color, because everything works perfectly fine on my Windows computer.

There are a few things to check:
Make sure the blue tape has been removed from the nozzle plate.
Print a diagnostic page as shown in method 4 here. Does this page print color? If so the issue may be your driver settings. Check for a "Print in grayscale" setting and uncheck this box.
