Making the Xtra easi

My grandpa recently just gave his Zen Touch to his daughter... went out to get a new one for himself, and ended up getting an Xtra. I guess they were out of Touch players, but he got a great deal on the Xtra.
But anyway, this is the problem... he's old... and not too technologically inclined. He seemed to be doing fine with the Touch - the way it worked. I think the dial on the Xtra is easier for him, but in terms of how the player acts... it's much different from the Touch.
He got very used to being able to go into Artists, find an artist, and hit the Play button. On the Touch that would load that artist up and start playing it instantly. Now when he tries to do that it pauses what's currently playing. I can't say which I like better, but I do know it's easier for him to just hit play and it play what he's selected.
Is there any way to change it to where the play button will play what's selected?
I also noticed as you Add artists to the Selected... when you go to the Selected Music screen, it lists the Artist, and then you are able to expand or collapse the individual tracks of that artist. I love this!! I think that's very neat.
But my problem with this is that when you save that Selected as a Playlist, when you load the playlist, it will not appear like that. With the artists, then the tracks branched. Is there any way to save your selection and have it load exactly as it was, with the collapsable artists and all?
I don't have his player with me, and I can't remember which version of firmware he had. Does any recent firmware make these types of changes?

But the Touch format was very simple in ways that I think an MP3 player should be. And while I think the Xtra has some neat features, I think the functionality of the Touch is the way to go. But even if the Xtra can't be like that... I wish there was a way to just make things straight forward to make it easier for him.
I'll have to play around with it and figure some more things out, but any help or information on the firmware changes in these ways would be great!

No, I don't think there's any way to enable it. I'm surprised, as my NJB3 works this way and predates the Xtra.

No, the context is lost. Has been on the wishlist for a while.

The Touch does have a streamlined interface, in that they removed some features based on customer research. A lot of people have complained about this though.

If it's an application, it should be in the Applications folder. If in doubt, double click on the hardrive icon to open it up, then press Command+F (find) and in the window that comes up for what you want to find, type in AOL and it should appear. You can either drag it to the Dock for easy access or make an alias of that, and drag that alias to the Dock. Oh, and just so's you know, this forum is for Desktop macs only. We may be able to answer your question about a MacBook Pro. Same kind of animal, but different breeds.

SAP Standard Menu
SAP Standard Menu helps you in including your own menu within the Sap menu bar .It helps us in making own function related to the program, sub routines or any transaction. The main advantage of this standard menu is that u can even modify this menu according to your client or project needs.
The main advantage of the SAP Menu bar is that it can find specific transaction without knowing the transaction code.           SAP Menu is determined by the task you are doing in the SAP R/3 system.
Menu are like Drop down list ,as when you click on any particular menu item, further options will be displayed.
You can have as many as standard menu bar in the SAP Standard menu.
The SAP Menu Bar contains the menus for the functional and administrative areas of the system.
Features of the Sap Menu Bar are as Follows

System     It contains all the function that affect the system as a whole such as Create session, User profile and Log off
Help     This menu provide various types of online help that are available in R/3 system
Following are the Steps how to modify the SAP Standard Menu Bar
Transaction code SE41 is used for displaying the Menu Painter Menu.
Now in the Program field ,Type the MENUSYST as the Program Name.
Now in the Status field choose the option MEN by using the F4 help .
After choosing the MEN option for the Status field, click on the Change then the Following Screen will be displayed
Click OK and move Forward , it is just Alerting that Menusyst is a user interface .
After that the Following screen will appear with Modify Status Men in Program MENUSYST
Double click on the Menu bar shown in the Left side of the Screen .Such as the Menu bar will open .
Double click on the System such that list of menu will be displayed .

Now the Menu Painter Intial Screen will appear such that you can test your function code there. Now Click on the System menu in the Menu Bar
After clicking to the System Menu , the list of the option will open and our Customized /Modified SAP Menu will appear into it as follows .
Now you can See that the My Option Menu appears on the Standard System Menu. There are various Advantages of the modification of the Standard Menu which are discussed as follows .
     Code Flexibility, As We can choose our own predefined Standard Menu fucntion in the Program as required by the client.
     Independency . Sap program is independent of various other supporting program that are supporting to the defined function.
     Ease of Code . More Uniformity is established between the Standard Menu function.We can include our own predefined fucntion module within this standard function module
Deactivating of the SAP Standard Menu
You can just move to the MENUSYST Prgram through SE41 Transaction Code . then Select the MENU option which you had customized and then click the Function Code again in the SAP screen.
Then Message will be Displayed that Function MENU is Deactivated as follows .
Now Save and Activate the interface MENUSYST. Test the Program using the Initial Screen SE41
And check the System menu in the Menu bar ,then the My Option Menu is deactivated .

Is apple planing on making the back part of the ipod touch?

Is apple planing on making the back part of the ipod touch look, feel, and be like the ipad and or mac? I have heard millions of complaints that the ipod touch's back, scratches really easily, (I am also one of them). I am willing to buy the fifth ipod touch if the back were aluminum or some other kind of material.

Just put it in a case. Personally, I find the touch very slippery and easy to drop. I put a silicone case on mine that fits like a glove, has a nice grip, looks great and doesn't add any noticeable weight.

Advice making the jump from pc to mac - video card?

Hi,
I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post but I've been having trouble finding an appropriate place to ask some questions.
I'm thinking about making the jump to a mac after many years of having pc's because I'm starting to get fed up with tinkering and want something that just works. I want to do mainly office stuff; use for photography and play a few games. Unfortunately warhammer online isn't supported but I see that there are alternative ways - not a deal breaker. I've been WOW sober now for 150 days.
When trying to compare systems I'm finding a few sticking points. I think what I want is a mac pro as I want to use my existing dell 24" lcd and upgrade to an eizo (for photography) at a later stage. There are things that I'm finding a little odd :
1. 1TB HDD is $450 AUD whereas I can just pick one up locally for almost half of that price. Can I order one without and then just put my own in? Is this ever done?
2. and what's the deal with the memory price?
3. and why are the video cards 1-2 generations behind the pc?
I'm not saying the system is overpriced - if I configure an xps system or alienware system the prices just get absurd.
Any comments appreciated.

Mac pro or Macbook pro? Big difference! If you want a laptop with gaming capability then you are pretty much into the Macbook pro, as graphics on the Macbook won't handle high intensity gaming. However, for MS Office and iPhoto, any mac will do. You could, for example, buy a macbook 13" and use your 24" monitor with that...or the MBP or the Mac Pro.
With the Mac Pro, you can add any compatible HD with ease. A HD is user installable on a Macbook, but it is absolutely NOT with a macbook pro. That should not stop you from going to an apple authorized repair center and having THEM do the install. If any other provider does the install and there is a problem, the warranty could be voided. Most folks buy aftermarket RAM and install themselves. It is easy.
Don't know anything about video cards.

Making the switch finally

Hi everyone. After almost a decade of designing my websites
in Front Page my employees have finally convinced me to make the
switch to Dreamweaver. We will be upgrading to CS4 Design Premium
at the beginning of the year, and to say I'm a bit "worried" would
be an understatement.
I have built over 400 websites, and we currently
host/maintain almost 200 sites for our 140+ clients. My staff is
trained in Dreamweaver so they are very excited about finally
making the switch. I myself am self-taught and can build a FP site
in my sleep. I have taught FP, trained staff and colleagues, etc. I
am VERY comfortable in FP, and have won over 30 awards for my
designs in FP (thank goodness and can read/write some code in code
view). So to toot my own horn, I am very comfortable/confident in
FP and have always been a fan of the software. I have always told
people that it is not the software that builds the site, but the
designer and the software is just a tool to get it done.
But after much debating, thinking, researching, etc... we are
finally ready to take the plunge. I am obviously nervous leaning
new software, and being able to keep up with our steady work
(exisiting and new clients) and really cannot afford to have much
downtime in the way of a learning curve.
I have started the Lynda.com training, and that is making me
sleepy. As great as I'm sure the training is, I feel like I'll be
listening to that forever. I have DW already on my computer and
thought I'd just jump right in, but find the UI so different that
I'm a bit overwhelmed.
So I thought I'd come join the forum, as hearing from others
is often such a better learning method for me. I will continue my
training at lynda.com as well as a few other tutorials I've seen
around the way... but wanted to ask a few quesitons to the experts
here...
1. What software/training program would you guys recommend
for learning DW for someone already very familiar with building
websites (I'm finding that the Lynda.com training is geared to
beginners and I'm forced to re-learn things I already know)?
2. What is the best method for changing from FP to DW?
Meaning, is there software or a plug-in available that I can
import/transition my exisiting FP sites to DW? With so many sites,
just this task alone seems almost impossible.
3. Currently we use Xara Webstyle for our drop down menus. I
have been using this program for years and years, and it
quickly/easily creates javascript drop down menus for our sites.
Easy to use, easy to edit, inexpensive and works in FP almost
seamlessly. When we switch over to DW I'd like to use something
more search engine friendly - do you guys have anything you
recommend?
4. For once we are up and running on DW, what else do you

Discard this idea completely. Learn HTML and CSS. That's
really a key to
the effective use of DW. Forget the tool. Learn the
technology.

Before doing anything else, take a couple of weeks to
gothrough the DW
tutorials, and also to study HTML and CSS. The more you know
about those,
the easier your transition will be. DW expects alot more from
you than FP
did, and as a result, you may find it much more frustrating
to have the raw
reality of web development staring you in the face rather
than the wizards
of FP.

1. I'd define a Dreamweaver site that points to a location on
your hard
drive for the local site's root, and to the current FP site
on the web as
the remote site
2. I'd use Dreamweaver (if your host supports FTP
connections) to download
the remote site to the root of the site you just defined on
the hard drive.
This will pick up all the pages *after* webbot action so that
shared borders
and all are already present in the page HTML. This will also
pick up all of
the server scripting. Note - in the event that you are not
able to connect
using FTP since some FP hosts block that protocol, you will
have to use a
third party 'site copier' like Black Widow, QuadSucker, or
WebCopier, (or
even the DW extension called SiteAssist from WebAssist) to
connect and
download using http protocols. Doing it this way will *not*
retrieve any of
your server-script code, if any (unless you have used the
WebAssist
extension).
3. I'd create a DW template for the pages, that captures the
"shared
border"
effect you had in FP.
4. I'd copy and paste content from each FP pages to a new
template child
page and then save the new child page with an easily
identifiable
nomenclature that is distinct from what was used on the FP
site (since you
are saving the new child pages into the same local site as
the FP pages).
5. When the basic site is completed, I'd upload the new DW
pages to some
staging area/webspace, and by using the browser, I'd verify
that the site
(as it now exists remotely) is complete.
6. Then I'd create a *new* DW site in a new location on the
hard drive, and
connect to and download all the files from the staging site.
7. You can now delete the original FP site from your local
system if you
want.
You now have a complete site (minus any of the FP extension
server-side
code) that has no FP footprint.
If you have used any FP server extension functions on the
original FP site
(form processing, guestbooks, tables of contents, etc.), you
will have to
recreate those functions in DW using 3rd party scripts, or
scripts that you
write yourself.

I would not touch Xara with a ten foot pole, or any menu
system that writes
all-javascript menus. There are many reasons for this, but
accessability is
right at the top of the list.

Thanks for that 'sberman' - because my iPhone is backed-up to my work computer (only at this stage) I have had to call our IT Department in Adleaide. (4 times this morning). The last guy managed to get the phone into 'DFU Mode' - no more recovery mode screen - (kind of 'asleep' perhaps) from my understanding of same. I am awaiting a call again from IT so they can get my computer to actually recognise my iPhone on the C Drive. This also happened to one of my colleagues in Newman (WA). She got so frustrated with the whole process that she bought another phone the next time she was in 'civilisation.' She hasn't had any problems since. (Cross fingers).

My Itunes software, when activated, shows an image on the screen of the normal itunes image except that about 3" of the image is cut off on the right side of the screen and about 1" of the bottom. All functions shown work. Any function in the part of the screen that is not shown, is not available, making the softwave almost nonfunctionable. When I upgrade, this is usually resolved, until it starts happening again. Since I currently have the latest version of Itunes, I cannot try this solution, which is only temperary anyway. Can anyone help me?

Congratulate you got the solution by yourself. I am new to a
WinForms calendar component, I feel so helpless on many problems even I'd read many tutorials. This question on the

Automatic batch creation while making the UD

Hi Gurus,
Due to a customer need, I want to create the batch number for a good's receipt while making the UD, is that possible in a way other than using transaction MSC1N?

What I have understood is you need not to create batch number while posting the MIGO document and need to fire the batch number at the time of performing UD? If it is so then here is the solution:-
You can meet the requirement via so many ways but according to me the easiest way is, follow these steps.
Step:01 Copy the movement type 101 (use Trx OMJJ) create Z01. Where you need to select the option "No Creation" in the field "Create New Batch" in the entry level control.
Step:02 Use this movement type while creating GR, (change the std setting for GR against PO for trx MIGO)
Step:03 For movement type 321 - TF quality to unrest change the settings for the "Create New Batch" field from "No creation" to "Automatic / manual without check"
I think these will be enough for your requirement.
