Making things happen for iPad

Hi there,
Having read a lot and watched a lot of tutorials I am still confused as to how I can do some things on the InDesign CS5.5 DPS for a presentation that must be viewed on an iPad as well as on a macbook.
1.  I have set up buttons (arrows) that should take the user either to the next page, the previous page or HOME. When viewing in Adobe Content Viewer none of these work. I have set them up in the Buttons pallet.
2. I have just watched this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm6V-3Zqp7Q to create a box containing extra info that looks like it is come out of the page at the click of a button. The guy in the clip has this working on Adobe Content Viewer but I have used his theory to the letter and see I have done everything the same, and it doesn't work for me. What I want to see is:
State 1
then the user clicks on the grey button in the middle and this leads to State 2 which should look like this:
I have got slideshows working fine but other than that can get none of the other functions working.
Can anyone tell me how I should be doing this, or point me in the right direction. I have gone through all the main tuturials in Adobe TV and can't find the right one for this.
Many thanks

You need to create a two state MSO. One with the text and the artwork for the button and one empty except for the artwork for the button.
Create a new top layer and just for the sake of good housekeeping, name it buttons. Target that layer and draw a no fill/no stroke frame directly above where the “button” is. Open the button panel and click the little plus sign.
This will convert your frame to button and you should choose go to next state as the action. That should toggle the two states on and off on the iPad.
