Netweaver 2004S installation on Windows 2003 server : Oracle 10g Problem
Hi Friends,
I am installing the SAP Netweaver 2004s on a server which has Windows 2003 server Operating system on it.
It has got 6GB RAM and has, 5gb of free space in C drive, H: drive has 70 gb and I: drive has 50 GB of free space in it.
I am running Pre_requiste checker tool to check my hardware & software requirements in order to go ahead with installation, as a part of SAPInst.exe execution.
The results of Prerequisite checker tool are satisfied except for one " SWAP SPACE VALUES"
I am getting the message as follows
"The Minimum SWAP SPACE values required is 10994MB and currently you have 5993MB"
How to increase this SWAP space value? Please let me know the procedure.
Currently my server has a paging file details as below : Min size : 2MB & Max size : 9214MB allocated on C: drive. No other drive has paging file allocation.
What effect will I have if i proceed without meeting this requirement??
Suitable answers will be rewarded.
Thanks
DiwakarOPen windows explorer and right click my computer
Select Properties
Click Advanced Tab
Click Settings (performance)
Select Advanced Tab
In virtual memory - click change.

High paging in Windows 2003 server - Oracle 10.2.0.4
Hi ,
SAP instance running on Windows 2003 server , DB-oracle 10.2.0.4.
Currently we have 16 GB of physical memory and 12 gb of virtual memory set in the system. As the sap system is started immediately the paging goes high to 25 gb used.
Checked market place and found this note
Note 1009297 and implemented the windows patches given in the note ,still the issue exists. Please help to resolve the issue.
SAP system:Solution managaer 7.0
Oracle:10.2.0.4
OS:Windows 2003 server 64-bit machine. service pack 2
Basis-Team .have a look at note 1518419 because in meantime the reality is a little more complex.
note 88416 is still valid, but only if there is only one system on the box and if your pagefiles has 2-3 times the size of the physical ram of the box (which is litte too much if the box has 250 GB of it).
The reason why the system is using pagefile directly after startup is following:
SAP configures large portions of memory for caches and transaction memory for the users connecting to the system.
This amount is allocated during the startup of the system. Only some parts (so called privat memory) is allocated on demand.
This is the reason why the system needs so much virtual memory after being started up. How much - see note 1518419.

Adding x64 drivers on a Windows 2003 R2 32bitserver, PS drivers asks for ntprint.inf
I have a bunch of 2003 R2 32bitservers on my branch offices. We have quite a printers that fails when I add 64bit drivers as additional drivers. In general, PCL seem to work fine and PS fails during install.
I go for additional drivers on my HP 4000ps share and I add hpdj4000serieswx64ps\hpi4000v.inf
The installation then begins and in the end pops up with:
Please insert the Windows Server 2003 family (x64 processor) disk.
It seem to ask for E:\amd64\NTPRINT.INF file .
I try directing the "locate file" to my Windows 2003 R2 64bit share where I have the amd64\NTPRINT.inf file, however it just fails and asks over and over for this file. What do I do wrong.
The same happens on other PS drivers. E.g. Xerox WC7245.Hi,
I've faced the same issue.. but finally resolved.
We have SBS 2003R2 x86 and some clients x64 OS (Win 8.0) remaining are x32 clients
I'm using Win 8 x64 and RSAT for server management
In this scennario I was using Unified driver
What I did:
1. Added printer and Installed x86 driver on SBS box directly (through RDP)
2. Opened Print Management on x64 client (RSAT package) and browsed for Printer on SBS
3. Upon right click on printer and select properties, it said that I don't have a driver installed for this device and asked me to install it.
4. from here it was straightforward... browsed for the same unified driver on my computer that I used on SBS
5. Install is succeeded, x64 driver is added to the printer, shared on SBS.
Hope, this helps anyone who facnig this issue...

Windows 2003 AD DC as NTP server for Mac
(I originally posted this in the Mac OS X forum but later found this group which seems more relevant)
I tired to setup my PowerBook G4 OS X 10.4.4 to use our existing NTP time server (Active Directory Domain Controller) as the source for the Mac to get its time. The Mac is joined to the domain and I can browse the domain ok (shows connectivity) but if I try to check the time setting using the command "ntpq -p" we get "Connection Refused".
To set the time server we updated the etc/ntp.conf file and updated the line:
server time1 minpoll 4 maxpoll 10
where 'time1' is the fully qualified name of our server (which we can ping from the Mac)
Any ideas? While you can use the command line to set up your NTP connection, you can use the GUI interface in the System Preferences Date & Time pane to do this more easily. Type the name or IP address of your server in the "Set date & time automatically" field.
By the way, "time1" is not a fully qualified domain name. "time1.company.com" is an example of a fully qualified domain name. If the name doesn't work for you, try using the IP address. If this works, then your problem connecting is probably related to DNS services not resolving your server's name properly or your DHCP server not providing your network with the correct domain suffixes.
Hope this helps! bill

It is illegal to provide keys here.
You have to install a solution manager first before you can install an ERP 6.0 system - or open an OSS call if your Solution Manager is not (yet) available.

Concurrent Manager Issue in Oracle Apps 11i on MS Windows 2003
Hi,
We have Oracle Apps 11i (11.5.10) on Windows 2003 running Oracle Financilas and Supply Chain.
From this morning onwards, concurrent requests are not getting completed. All requests are showing Running Normally. I checked the server (Single Node 4 GB Memory) and CPU usage is more than 90%. Task Manager is showing 50% CPU usage for SYSTEM (Image Name). Once the CPU usage for SYSTEM(image name) goes beyond 40% then the server is becoming slow and the problem starts.
When I stop the Concurrent Manager it does not stop and I have to End Process the FNDLIBR process manually.
I have recreated the concurrent manager using CCMSETUP and also ran cmclean.sql. Nothing is helping.
System is Live since 2006 and the issue started only today.
Please suggest any solutions as this is happening in our Production system.
Thanks.
ThiruThiru,
Which concurrent manager consumes the CPU usage? Are you able to identify it?
Any errors in the CM log file? Did you try to start the CM with diag=y and see if any errors are reported in the log files?
What happen to the CPU usage when you stop the CM?
I assume that you are running Purge Concurrent Manager/Requests on regular basis, so this should not be an issue here.
Please review the following notes, and see if it helps.

Would you please shed more light on masking the higher order of IP address?
regardsJust to confirm what Niall said, I just meant to obscure it from public viewing when posting back to here. The 'high-order' end would be the left most octet .. Say your IP address is 111.222.333.444, when posting to a public forum such as this you'd show it as ***.222.333.444 or xxx.222.333.444. This is a security issue, so you don't expose your network to the world. It is best to just obscure the high-order part, because the OP's problem could be due to mis-matched IP addresses, and we'd miss spotting that if the entire address were masked and it is usuallly the low-order end where the discrepancies come.
and if you think this is being overly cautious .... there was a thread on c.d.o.s a few years back where a careless person posted a question and revealed his entire server/domain name, and it was a U.S. military domain. I called him out on it. He replied that it didn't matter because it couldn't be reached from the outside. Another participant promptly posted back the proof that it was accessible ... -

Hi all
Can we post and Express Server question here? I'll give it a go.
Has anybody out there ever installed Oracle Express Server 6.3.4 and OSA 6.4 Server on the Windows 2003 r2 platform? Does anybody know of any issues arising from this setup?
Cheers!
JPHi JP,
i hope you are well
Express Server 6.3.4 was certified against Windows 2003 - the Oracle certification site identifies Patch 3136780 as being required.
For OSA 6.4, Windows 2003 is certified for server components, but not client components.
I hope this helps, give me a call if I can help more
Cheers,
Stuart Bunby
