I appreciate your help and I am sorry if this answered in another post. My father in law died yesterday, I am the double parent of two, husband is spinning like the dreaded apple wheel across town and I don't have time to read all 7,000 posts. I just need your help. Thank you.
I have a network of home based macs, none intell, one Imac G4, three Imac G5's, an Ibook, and 17 inch G4 powerbook in the closet. No comments, yes, a mom, kids 11 and 9 only. I am on a airport base, all networked, cable DSL downloud and I use Safari. Not the new base. I want to place a slideshow on the web using Ilife 06 Iweb, password protected, on its own page or site or whatever it is now, and then send to a mail list of 25 dedicated mac users, mostly yet the 25 could grow to a a thousand. Slideshow is ready in Iphoto, 200 pictures revisting the life of a boy, 9, in my daughter's class who died last year. I want to know how, other than password protect do I assure that no one from the outside can either come inside or even glance inside. I make my living on my macs. Is blocking the public folder computers enough? How is this done? Please help me get the prince's slideshow up on time, I have to get my kids ready to go to their grandfathers funeral. Baby me please. Step by Step. Thank you.
G4 power book purchased 3 years ago, an IMAC G4 purchased aroung the same time, imac g5 purchased on year ago, I book and anoher imac G5 at end of o5 Mac OS X (10.4.8) Networked and added the apple network deice other than the plug ins due to advice from apple. Have 4 ipods.

It certainly doesn't sound like you would want to mess with turning one of your machines into a web server. Even if you wanted to do that I would recommend against it. So you just put this on .Mac or some other webhost. When you do that, your own network is not involved and there are no security issues.
With .Mac you just hit the Publish button in iWeb. If you have or buy space somewhere else, you publish to a folder and upload via ftp. Here are some tips:

According to your description, users need to type username and password before they can open the SSRS report when reopening IE, right? If I have anything misunderstood, please point it out.
Base on my research, this issue offten occurs on IE9 which ships with Windows 7 operating systems. In this case, to avoid this issue we can add the report URL to the trust site, for the detail information, please refer to the link below.

(What i mean is the following, Settings>iCloud then it will freeze before you entering email, then follow the steps below)
turn off your iPhone.
log out from iCloud, in any device (Mac Book, iPad, iPod, PC, what ever, Remember any device that you may used the account there).
turn on your iPhone, and try now to log in to iCloud. ( you should be OK to log in, and you can type email now before it is hangs)
* if you tried these steps and you can type the email and password and it is still hanging after you click "Sign in" then you need to do the following.
create a new iCloud account from iCloud website with domain iCloud (for example, [email protected] , YOU SHOULD NOT USE OTHER DOMAINS LIKE GMAIL, HOTMAIL OR WHAT EVER TO CREATE THE ACCOUNT).
then go back and use the new iCloud email to log in in your iPhone. ( I hope by that time you will be OK (^_^)).

Muse crashes when opening last edited site.

Muse crashed when opening last edited site. I completed revisions on the site then Uploaded to the FTP server. The FTP dialog returned the Error "Cannot verify site" If I launch Muse (launch OK) then try to open this site Muse hangs and must be shutdown with Task Manager. Using Windows 7. Also I can open other sites but previous version of this site stored on in backups will not open. Is there an FTP preference file to trash?

Could you please rename the preferences folder at the below location keeping Muse closed:-
C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Muse CC. Then try to open the site again.

I installed the Hyperion successfully. When I start the Essbase Administration Services Console, I get the following error as *"ERROR - 1042006 - Network error [111]: Unable to connect to [localhost:1423]. The client timed out waiting to connect to Essbase Agent using TCP/IP. Check your network connections. Also make sure that server and port values are correct".* Kindly guide me to overcome this issue.

Follow the below steps.
*1. Open the Windows Registry (Start -->Run --> RegEdit).*
*2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters.*
*3. Add new DWORD Value named "TcpTimedWaitDelay"*
     - Right click and select Modify
     -Select "Decimal" radio button, type in 30.
*4. Add new DWORD Value named "MaxUserPort"*
     -Right click and select Modify
     -Select "Decimal" radio button, type in 65534
*5. A reboot of the server(Restart the Hyperion related Services) is necessary.*

Firstly please remove your IP adress from your post since it's generally not a good idea to share it, because of malicious users using it to possibly break into your computer.
The warning you are mentioning occurs when Google has detected that an unusual amount of traffic has been coming from your system. What this means is that you may have done a lot of google searching, or maybe some malware ('the bot') has done some suspicious activities.
The problem is not in Firefox, but rather in the great amount of traffic Google has detected when you were using the web.
It's not possible to give the exact reason why this might be occuring right now, but I recommend scanning for viruses with your anti-virus and removing all the viruses you find.

Logic already running on another computer on your network, won't open.

I'm trying to open Logic Pro on MacBook Pro and I get this: This application cannot continue because another application with an identical serial number is already running on another computer on your network.
I do have Logic installed on my iMac also but it's not running. Oddly, Logic will open on the iMac w/o the problem. anone got the answer? Thanks!

RV180W Router -Configuring network secure from open wireless

I would like to set up an open wireless network for web access only and keep the 2nd WPA wireless network and the internal wired network secure from this open network. Not finding any clear indication of how to do this in the manual. Tnx for any advice.

Amjad - you were correct about VLAN being the answer and I eventually figured it out. Since this router provides multiple wireless networks, I was surprised that the manual didn't outline how to do this since creating a public and private network would be one main reason to buy this product.
The default setting is for everything to be on VLAN1. I created a 2nd VLAN for the open wireless network with a different IP subnet and defined a DHCP range and once I figured out that "Inter-VLAN Routing" needed to be enabled on both VLANS, then everything worked. I suppose that "Inter-VLAN Routing" is how VLAN 2 gets across to VLAN 1 and the gateway, but it doesn't allow connections to anything on VLAN 1 except the gateway. This is what I wanted.

How do I fix an error "4652747.png" when publishing my iWeb site to iMac?

Every time I try to publish my iWeb site to .Mac I get an error message that says there's an error in " ...files/ca4652747.png." I know this is an image file, but when i search for it on my hard drive it shows a blank image. I've tried deleting the file from the hard drive but when I re-publish, a second file "c00ff001c.png" on a different web page shows the same error. I can't figure out how to fix these errors. It publishes to a folder, or so it says, but i don't know how to check that. I am supposed to publish the entire site at the end of this week and have all the work done but can't get past this point. Can anyone help me? I'm a new mac user and this is my first shot at web design, so I've probably missed something obvious, but would appreciate any help.

k, try this:
backup your domain file! delete the one in the folder BUT HAVE A COPY OF IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. Then open iWeb, create something save it and publish it!
now go to your backuped file,make one more backup!!!!
move one of the backuped files into the Users/username/bblablabla folder and open iWeb. try publish all and see if it works!

Mp3s won't play for most who open my iWeb site

I am a pianist with an iWeb site. I drop my mp3s on various pages, then a photo on top to make it look cool. Set them to auto play. Most can not cue them when the site or page opens...some can. Would anyone please be willing to help me understand why this is and what I must do about it so that the majority can hear?

iWeb uses only the QuickTime browser plug-in (page code) and without it your visitors can't hear your file.
iWeb has changed your source .mp3 file and placed it inside a .mov container:

which means only QuickTime can be used to play the file.
The page code also requires javascript be enabled. If javascript is turned off your file will also not play.

I cannot open my iWeb site with any browser

I have had an iWeb site which has been live for about a month. It has been working perfectly. It still appears to be working well within iWeb. I can make changes and publish changes.
When I now search the internet using any browser, it says
[Safari] can't open the page "http://www.mydomain.com" because the server where this page is located isn't responding.
I have checked my .mac account and everything seems to be fully functional. Why has my site suddenly disappeared off the internet?

Here's the path: ~/Library/Caches/
Move those files to the Trash and retart your Mac.
Try to access your site. If that didn't help...
With iWeb open from the Menu Bar click File/Visit Published site
Then go to File/Publish Entire Site to MobileMe and see if that helps...

Also, In your Finder: Go/ iDisk / My iDisk which will mount your iDisk on your Desktop if it is't alerady there. Open your iDisk then go to the iDisk/ Web / Sites folder to see if your website folder is there along with an index.html file.

Some page links not working when I publish iweb site to desktop folder?

I just created a photo website using iweb. All the links to pages, etc. work fine in the programme but when I go to publish it to folder to check it on a web page some of the page links don't work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Even though you have deactivated the iWeb navigation menu, the navigation layer still exists and is blocking your custom links. Open the Inspector Page tab and try changing the value for Header Height to zero. See if this does anything for you. If not, then try increasing the Header Height value incrementally. This pushes the navigation layer down your page and maybe out of the way of your custom links.
Of course, there is also the question of whether you custom links are placed on the page as a header element or as a regular page element. You can put elements into the header or footer layers by holding down the Apple key while dragging the elements until you see the header/footer outline highlight in blue.
If your custom links are header elements, then increasing the header height to push the navigation layer down will probably help. If your custom links are page elements, then decreasing the header height to zero might be more likely to help.

Makes it very messy with a very long web address. Original address now followed by iweb site name followed by name of first page? Went for iweb as not that computer literate - all going so well?! Well yes of course, if you try and publish through iWeb there won't be an option to publish without your site folder which is exactly why I told you to download Cyberduck and use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server having published your site from iWeb to a local folder. That is what you need to do if you don't want your site name to be included in yoru url.
It would have been easier also if you had used Cyberduck initially to connect to your server and delete your old site yourself - at least that way you would have deleted the correct files rather than relying on your hosting service to do it and doing it incorrectly.
Download Cyberduck and then select the publish to a local folder option from iWeb and then use Cyberduck to upload your site to your server, but rather than uploading the whole site folder and separate index file, upload ONLY the contents of your site folder and then your url will be http://www.domain.com/page_name.html.
It really isn't rocket science!
