Male 30 pin to female 30 pin extension cable

Does anyone know who makes a male 30 pin to female 30 pin extension cable or converter. Can't find one online and the reps at the Apple store were not helpful. I can't attach any accessories that need to be flush with the 60g IPod (such as the FM Transmitter, docking station) without taking it out of the case which increases the chance of scatching it.
Thx

If you just want something to lift the iPad a little and make it charge with other older style firewire based chargers, maybe you want this -> Scosche passPORT Charging Adapter for iPhone 3G
A quick Google search shows results for the male to female 30-pin extension you described.

  • RCA Extension Cable - Male to Female a make that fits Inspire 5.1 speakers?

    Hi
I want to extend the distance between my speakers and the subwoofer. I believe I have a Creative Inspre 5200 system. I bought some RCA male female extension cables but the male nad female ends were too long and did not fit either the jack on the end of the speaker cable or the input into the subwoofer.
Can any one male any recommendations or provide sources to buy cable with the correct fitting male female ends?
    many thaaks

Creative offers many speaker systems that will fit your needs, without decoder.
You mentioned the Inspire 5700 system; this system comes with a decoder/amplifier, and wouldnt actually be what you'r looking for.
If your looking for awesome sound-quality, and good power, I can recommend the 5.1 Megaworks system, though this system can get quite expensive, you'll get what you pay for.
The megaworks (like "all" other creative speaker systems, got a built in amplifier in the subwoofer, where you connect all the speakers.)
To connect the speakers to the DVD-player, you connect the multichannel output on the DVD-player, to the multichannel input on the back of the subwoofer. (three stereo minijack inputs.)
You may need some RCA-to-minijack adapters, so that the multichannel audio cable that comes with the megaworks, will fit on your DVD-players output.

  • My new MacBook Pro and Imac can't recognize my digital video camera (Canon GL2) via FireWire 800 9 pin to 4 pin cable.

My new MacBook Pro and Imac can't recognize my digital video cameras (Canon GL2 or Sony) via FireWire 800 9 pin to 4 pin cable. I've tried two different cables.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Is your DV camera plugged in to AC power (not batteries only)? When you step down from 9 pins to 4 pins, you lose the "power" pins.

  • Canon GL2 and Belkin 800/400 9-pin to 4-pin firewire cable not working!!!

While holding the option key, click the  in the menu bar and select System Information. Select Firewire in the Hardware section and see if your camera shows up as a connected Firewire device. If not, then you have one of three basic problems:
         1. Defective Firewire cable
         2. Defective Firewire port on computer
         3. Defective Firewire port on camcorder
Rule out any of the above by trying a different cable, Firewire device (like a hard drive) or try your camcorder/cable on a different/friend's computer.
If you suspect a Firewire port problem on your computer, you can try resetting it by shutting down and disconnecting the power cable to the computer. Wait for 30 minutes and plug back in and startup. You can also try resetting Parameter RAM (PRAM) on the iMac. (Apple's Instructions for reseting PRAM)

  • Mac Mini to new iMac via FireWire (9-pin to 6-pin cable necessary?)

I can't seem to find a straight answer on this.
Am I correct in assuming that the only FireWire cable that can be used to connect a Mac Mini to a new iMac is a 9-pin to 6-pin cable such as http://store.apple.com/us/product/TP320LL/A?mco=MzE2OTkyOA ?
6-pin cables won't fit in the new iMac? I don't have the iMac yet so I can't check.
    Thanks,

Or you can just get an adapter and use your existing FireWire 400 cable.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/FIR1369AD/
Or you can use a standard Ethernet cable and use +Fire Sharing+. Both your Macs would have gigabit Ethernet ports, so as long as the cable is Cat-5e or better, it would be pretty fast.

  • Using Male to 3x Female Stereo Splitter Audio Cable with audio out

The HP Pavilion 22-h031ea all in one has an audio out on the rear of the unit. Is it ok to connect this with a 6:1 audio system with a Male to 3x Female Stereo Splitter Audio Cable?

    Simmo56, welcome to the forum.
I am not certain that this will work.  However, it won't damage anything to try it.  If it does work, you will not be able to have 6.1 sound.

  • Will a 4 pin to 6 pin FW cable work?

My new MBP is showing up today, but all I have to transfer files from my older MBP is firewire 400 cables. My local radio shack has a 4 pin to 6 pin adaptor. Will that work?
    Thanks

Just to build on what Niel indicated... There were two standard FW400 connectors. One was the larger elongated "D" shaped connector and one was the much smaller connector. The difference being that the larger connector had six pins and was able to provide power to devices connected to it. The smaller plug, with 4 pins, lacked the ability to provide power. It could only move data. Devices using the smaller firewire connector would need an alternative power source.
Then along came FW800. If you're not familiar with FW800, I can see how you may confuse that with the older FW400 4 pin connector, but they are not the same. FW800 actually uses 9 pins and is fully backwards compatible with FW400. As Niel indicated, you would need the 6pin to 9pin cable which will allow you to connect the 6pin FW400 to the 9pin FW800 on your MacBook Pro.

  • If I get a FireWire 800 male to USB female, and a Firewire female to Thunderbolt cable

If I get a FireWire 800 male to USB female, and a Firewire female to Thunderbolt Male cable, would I gain any transfer speed of the thunderbolt over standard USB speed? So basically I'm talking about chaining together a few cables and am trying to gain more transfer speed. Thanks......

Apple has announced a Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter, but not yet given a release date.

  • Sourcing a 15-pin D-SUB Twisted Pair cable to fit on a NI 9411 C Module

    Hi,
I have an NI 9411 that I'd like to connect to and I'm looking for a 15-pin D-SUB Twisted Pair cable.
I have spoken with NI sales and the best they can offer is the following, which is unfortunately not twisted pair:
    http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/212301
They advised that I have a general look around on google/RS Components, which I've done. I've found quite a few straight-through
15-pin D-SUB cables but still can't seem to find one with twisted pairs.
Unfortunately, making my own cable isn't a viable option.
Has anyone ever used a cable like this and know where to buy one in the UK?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Also looked for you at various sources in the UK and The Netherlands but came up empty.
In my case I would solder such cable myself but you don't want to do that.
Perhaps another solution is a flatcable with twisted pair. You can make such a cable without any special tools. If necessary you can use a bench-vice.

  • MSI GTX 960 Gaming 2G 6-Pin to 8-Pin PEG Cable

I planning to get a MSI GTX 960 Gaming 2G. My PSU is 470-watt and only comes with a 6-Pin PEG cable. The power connector of the graphic card is a 8-Pin PEG. And MSI does bundle with a 6-Pin to 8-Pin PEG cable right?
My concern is the 6-Pin to 8-Pin PEG cable. If I'm using this adapter, any issues or performance degrade?

My workstation is a HP Z400. The PSU model is "DPS-475C8-1 A" from HP. And manufactured by Delta Electronics.
    Max. Combined Power on +3.3V & +5.1V: 110W
    Max. Combined Power on +12V (D, B, CPU): 456W (38A)
Max. Combined Total Output Power: 475W
