MalformedURLException in JBOSS 5.1.0 GA
I am trying to deploy my product in JBOSS 5.1.0 GA.
Where i am using eclipselink, jpa 1.0, struts 2.1 and spring 1.2 (acegi security)
(Recently i had upgrade from toplink-essentials to eclipselink 2.4)
I had faced many issue while in deployment. I had resolved all.
In my application my project statup page is user login page.
After deployment, it is showing my app login page, after enter the username and password and when i am clicking on login button, it is showing below error.

when i will click on login button, control will go to `applicationContext-acegi-security.xml` and there it will process all security related task, and finally it will login me.
I dont know whether it is acegi problem, or EntityManagerHelper problem...

Looks like you have TopLink essentials on the classpath, and it is having problems parsing the persistence.xml. If you are using EclipseLink, you probably should remove TopLink Essentials from the classpath unless it is used elsewhere.

I have re-tried changing hostnames, ip addresses etc.
Port 1099 is allowed on Personal Firewall and I even diabled it to be sure.
Like I said, it works fine in FireFox.
I'm running Windows XP Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050501-1519 : Service Pack 2)
and IE Version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050501-1519

So why would I get a java.net.MalformedURLException?!?! And why is the
classloader having problems loading on of the referenced jars?!
It's that space in "Program Files"......
So I copied the folder to D:\Temp and.... volla!! the off-line deploy of the
application now works fine in Internet Explorer. It's that space!
So this is my theory, when the initialcontext.lookup is called the classnames specified are reflected, instanciated etc. So when the applet gets the
document base from the browser IE gives it "C:\Program Files\" and not an
encoded "file://C:\Program%20Files\" and the spaces causes the classloader
(or something) to not parse the path correctly and causes a bad URL.
If I type the encoded URL in IE's address bar it finds the HTML, displayes it and changes the address bar contents back to "C:\Program Files".
FireFox doen't do this, and therefore works.
Does anyone know if their is a patch for IE, or if there is another way to
connect to JBoss?

We are in the year of 2009 and this problem is most probably caused because jboss is started from a path which contains one or more space.
Try move your jboss installation or eclipse installation (i am not familiar how jboss in installed inside eclipse) to a folder with no spaces and the problem should go away.
It is sad that nice software like jboss has stupid bugs like this. Oh and it migh not be jboss but the JVM. It is silly in any case... -
I have EAR module with EJB-JAR modules, WEB module and SAR module. SAR consists of an MBean which startService() method is invoked after EAR (and all it's components) deployment. So all components are initialized and deployed just before MBean's startService() method execution. Even if startService() method throws an Exception or fails in other way, the process of starting an application (EAR) is continued. My problem is how can I undeploy EAR application in case startService method fails. Should/Can I do it inside startupService metod body, How? Should I invoke some MBean service, e.g. MainDeployer? Shuold I use jmx-console, but how can I do it in Java code?
Similar solution is in Websphere, where StartupBeans (which are de facto EJBs) if fails application (EAR) is undeployed.
Any help will be appreciated.

I can't separate MBean from the rest of the application. I can't deploy my application after succesful execution of MBean. Inside ear there is MBean wich executes some application functionality (e.g. SessionBeans business methods), so the application resources should have already been deployed, loaded, and JNDI names registered. MBean's startService method execution has to be the last step in application deployment process.
I found working but indecent solution. When startupService fails (Exception is catched) it invokes URL connection to JMX-CONSOLE and undeploy current EAR. It works but it doesn't look nice. Here is the code:

Error while Provisioning a user to Exchange:Configuration OIM 9.1 & JBOSS

I am facing the below error while provisioning a user to Exchange. The Resource gets provisioned. But inside the resource, two tasks (Create User & Set Mailbox) are rejected. When i retry these tasks, the Resource status is set to Revoked in the Resource Profile of OIM. The AD Provisioning is working fine. There are 2 AD IT Resources here. Database is Oracle 10g.

Error while loading a 10.1.3 ADF application login page on JBoss EAP 6.0.1
I have a 10.1.3 ADF application that runs well on Web Sphere and OC4J. I'm trying to run it on JBoss EAP 6.0.1. The ear file was deployed successfully to JBOSS and according to ADF logging the connection to Oracle database is established.

Error in invoking a process in JBoss Cluster
Hi,
I have recently installed LC 8.2 on a JBoss 4.2.0 Cluster. The OS of the 2 cluster nodes are Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition SP2.
And the database is SQL Server 2005 Ent. Ed. installed on another Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition SP2.
I have created a simple process on the first node of the cluster. When I invoked the process through Workbench, I get ALC-DSC-003-000: com.adobe.idp.dsc.DSCInvocationException: Invocation error. with the following root cause:

I suggest creating a servlet and moving all your business logic there. Test it and verify it works. Then put its result in request scope via request.setAttribute(),
then in the JSP page, get the value via request.getAttribute(). This is in following with not having any business logic in the JSP page (separation of concerns).
It also makes it far easier to debug and set breakpoints (can be done in servlet, not in JSP). -
Error In Starting Jboss after installing OIM server
Hi All,
I have Installed OIM_Server(OIM 9.1.0.1) ON Jboss server(4.2.3) , I have 1 GB RAM m/c so have JVM setting as -XMS512m -XMX768 m. While installation of OIM Server, it showed the success message. But When I am starting the server , to perform post installation check, it is showing following error message .
Does anybody have any ideas what the problem is? Please provide the possible solution.

[Eclipse&JBoss] JBoss doesn't start
Hi there.
I encountered a problem in starting JBoss with Eclipse. The strange thing is that I have the same configuration on my laptop and it works. On this second computer it doesn't work and I can't understand why.
Here my configuration:
- Eclipse Galileo
- JDK 1.6
- JBoss 5.0.0 for jdk6
I inserted JBoss as a server in Eclipse and then I launched my Enterprise Application in there. The server starts correctly, in more or less 20 seconds. Then I find in the console something like:

It could make me think that JBoss actually started, because there aren't errors. But Eclipse doesn't recognise it, and the bar in the right corner says "Starting JBoss..." since it goes in timeout.
I found a post in this forum that says to change the timeout, or to replace JBoss with a new copy, or to do the same thing with Eclipse. I have done all these things, pushing the timeout to 1000 seconds, deleting the JBoss folder and replacing it, and deleting the Eclipse folder (but not the workspace). Still getting the same error. And I can't understand why.
It's weird because I would expect to find an error in the console, but it's error free...
Could anyone help me? I would be very very grateful!!

Among a pile of other helper plugins, it has JbossAS tools. Using the server runtime setup from JBoss Tools, I've never had any problems with any version of JBoss.
btw: Jboss 5.0 was fairly broken; I would consider upgrading to JBoss 5.1-jdk6 which is far more stable. -
Unable to deploy a war(includes web services)packaged into EAR on jboss 5.0
I am new to web services and wanted to develop one

So i started off quite well configuring all that is required to create a web service
i took the help of eclipse ide tools like create web service and create web service clients.
when i created the web project in eclipse i selected the option add project to ear.
and finally i start the jboss server with in eclipse and add project the ear file that contains the war file.
just when i thought all is fine the server throws an error

I then copied the 10.1.3 Standalone OC4J to the Solaris 5.9 box which already has JDK 1.5 Update 12 installed. We extracted the OC4J to its own directory , set the Java_Home and the Oracle_Home environment variables and were able to
startup the OC4J instance.
We had some issues when extracting OC4J to its directory but there were no errors displayed on the screen ... Only when we tried starting up the OC4J instance , it started complaining about missing XML files .. This was resolved by manually extracting the XML's from the corresponding jars and placing them in the proper directories ..
It sounds like you have some funky issues there with those missing XML files -- that is not expected or normal.
Do you mean you copied the same oc4j_extended.zip to the server and unzipped it, or you zipped up the directories you were using on the Windows box, copied that over, and unzipped it?
I don't know of any problems with Solaris, JDK5, U12.
What about if you do this to remove any issues with the remote copy aspect of the deployment.
1. Stop OC4J.
2. Manually copy CISS.ear to /home/aplperdev1/ssp_java/oc4j/j2ee/home/applications/
3. Edit the j2ee/home/config/server.xml file and add the entry to deploy the application
4. Edit the j2ee/home/config/default-web-site.xml and bind any web-modules you need.
5. Start the server and see what happens -- the application should be deployed.
Also, what happens if you use the $JAVA_HOME/bin/jar to try and view the contents of the CISS.ear file?

I have two flex builds for a messaging application that I have to integrate with my web application running on Jboss 5.1 . I have tried hot deploying the builds into the default deploy folder of Jboss,but that approach doesn't seem to work(maybe because I may need to make war out of the flex builds). Can someone tell me an approach of how to accomplish this. Can I leverage BLAZEDS for this purpose.

When do WL streams release byte[]. Smaller footprint under JBOSS.
We have a customer that started having memory issues. When we jprobed, we saw that half the memory usage they were seeing on the client was occupied by the byte[] corresponding to the objects streamed back from the ssb running on the application server. In fact, several calls to different ssbs that return very large amounts of data were responsible for large amounts of data hanging around on the client. I understand that weblogic has to hold onto these data structures to resolve multiple streams of the same object on the server side to the same object on the client. My question is, what controls garbage collection of this data? Under what circumstances will it be released?
When we ran the same tests under JBOSS the memory footprint was much smaller. If we could understand the BEA mechanism and force the stream to be reset (or do something that indirectly forces the stream to be reset) we would be happy.

Ubuntu 11.10 has Gparted available as a Ubuntu software download, DONT use that while trying the above step, instead download the ISO file from http://sourceforge.net/projects/gparted/files/gparted-live-stable/ gparted-live-0.12.0-5.iso (124.6 MB)
Burn that ISO file on a Blank DVD, reboot the Ubuntu , during startup select Boot from DVD Option if not already selected. this will take to Boot Menu Options of Gparted Live then select the first menu option, and this allows to do further action such as Re-sizing .
and once you have chosen and executed step a) . do NOT run step b) also that is "Setup External Storage"

Queries running under JBoss Not Working
I'm using Kodo 2.3.2 running under JBoss.
It seems like if I attempt to run the same JDOQL query within a single
transaction under JBoss the second time I run the query I see that Kodo
appears to be querying the entire extent of my class instead of performing
my JDOQL query.
For example,
I have a simple JDOQL function like:
runQuery()
Extent e = aPM.getExtent (Persname.class, true);
String aFilter, anOID;
aFilter = "pers.objid == aObjId";
// Create a new query for the specified class and filter
Query query = aPM.newQuery (e, aFilter);

Does the iPod nano 7th Generation have wifi
I just cant decide if i made the right decition by ordering a iPod nano I have heard that it does but I have no definite answer....Anyone care to clarify?
