Before you try anything as drastic as restoring your phone, try simply resetting it by pressing and holding the Home and power buttons until the apple appears on the screen.

Since the upgrade to IOS7, the default phone label when adding new contacts in my iPhone 5 is "Radio". Previously the default was "Mobile". It is a hassle as when my iPhone contacts are synched with Outlook via Exchange, the phone number I've entered on the iPhone doesn't show on the default Outlook view as it is a "Radio" number rather than a "Mobile", "Work", "Home", etc number. It is still stored both on the iPhone & in Outlook & I can still use the number to phone or SMS, it is just incorrectly labelled & hence the source of frustration.

I have been using PowerPivot for a couple of months now and whilst it is extremely quick when pulling in data to populate Pivot Tables, it is extremely slow to make the following kind of changes to the Data Model:
- Add a Measure / Calculated Field
- Add a Calculated Column
- Rename a Calculated Field
- Re-name a Calculated Column
- Modify a relationship
- Change a tables properties
- Update a table
In the status bar of excel I get a very quick 'calculating', then it spends a lot of time 'reading data',
then it 'finalises' after which nothing is in the status bar but it still takes approx. 45 seconds before the program becomes responsive again. This waiting time does not change depending on the action, it is the same if I rename a
column as it is if I add a new measure.
My question is what affects performance of these actions and how do I improve it?
To give you an idea of where my data comes from, I have:
- 7 tables that feed into the Data Model directly from within the workbook which contains the data model itself. These are a combination of static tables and tables that connect to a MySQL database.
- 6 separate workbooks which contain static data that is updated manually periodically (copied and pasted from another source)
- 5 separate workbooks which contain dynamic tables that are linked to our MySQL database and update when opened.
Now I realise that this is probably where my issue is, however I have no idea how to fix it. You do not seem to be able to connect to a MySQL database directly within the PowerPivot window itself so there is no way to generate and update tables without
first creating them either in a worksheet or separate workbook (as far as I know). If I try to create all of the tables directly within the single workbook containing the Data Model I get performance and crashing issues hence why I separate tables into
individual workbooks.
Any advice on how to improve performance would be tremendously appreciated. I'm new and keen to learn, I'm aware this set-up is far from best practice.
Hardware wise I am using:
- Windows 8 64-bit
- Excel 2013 64-bit
- Intel Core i7 processor
- 6 GB Ram

I think the point I was making is its in memory, geez... BTW what do all applications do when they run out of paged memory, if PowerPivot is using all available memory then wouldn't this force the other applications to use Virtual or essentially write
back and forth to the disks? I think Virtual memory white to disk ??, lol Also, there are parts if the architecture of Excel 2013 that when importing data into PowerPivot require memory and when working in SharePoint the PowerPivot data is cached to disk
unless recently refreshed... But this conversation isn't help the James who asked the question and as much as I would love to continue its become a little boring..

If you download one the ODBC MySQL Connectors
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/ and I believe yours is the first one for x64 systems and connect directly to the data you should be able to reduce the number of workbooks your opening and if you notice in the following graphic these
connection are automatically refreshed by default, the parts in red are the differences between PowerPivot 2010 and 2013
You should notice a lot of improvement especially when refreshing data please let us know how it goes...
After registering the ODBC Driver
Click Add. on the User-DSN sheet, choose the “MySQL ODBC 5.x driver”, fill in the credentials, choose a database (from the select menu) and a data source name and you’re done.
Back in Excel you go on the PowerPivot section of the ribbon and open the PowerPivot window (the green icon on the left side). In the ‘Home’ section of that window you will see a small gray cylindrical symbol (the international
symbol for “database”) which will suggest to you different data sources to choose from. Take the one where it says “ODBC”.
In the next dialog you click on create, choose the adapter, and then Ok. Back in the assistant you can check the connection and proceed.
Now you have the choice between importing the data from tables using the import assistant or Query depends on your skillset..

When adding a contact.. another iphone on my plan got that same contact
I just recieved an iphone and my sister got one as well. We were adding contacts to our phones and noticed we were getting the same contacts we were adding. (EX: I added a friend and the same friend would pop up in her contacts and she didn't create his contact) Is there a way to fix this without going to the apple store/verizon?
If anyone doesn't understand i can go into more depth if needed.Are both iPhones using the same iCloud account? iCloud syncs contacts (among other things) so if you're both using the same iCloud account on your phones it would automatically add any contact entered on one phone to the other one as well. Check under settings->iCloud and see what account name is listed at the top. If it's the same on both phones that would explain it.

Word 2010 hangs when adding a contact via the Envelopes and Labels dialog box
I am having the following issue on all PC in our network.
Open Outlook.
Open Word 2010.
Click the Mailings tab.
Click Envelopes.
Click the Address Book button.
From the Address Book drop-down select the Contacts folder.
Right click in the list & select New Entry.
Select New Contact & click OK.
Fill in the basic info: name, email, phone numbers, address.
Click Save & Close.
At that point the contact form closes. It looks like the address book list is trying to come back but that is where it hangs. At that point the only option is to force Word to close. However, the new contact is created in Outlook.
I can reproduce this with Word/Outlook 2010 RTM & SP1.
Has anyone else ran into this before?

Rename the global template (Normal.dotm)
Follow the steps for the operating system that you are using:
Windows 7
Exit Word 2010
Click
Start.
In the
Start Search box, type the following text, and then press
ENTER:
%userprofile%\appdata\roaming\microsoft\templates
Right-click
Normal.dotm, and then click Rename.
Type
Oldword.old, and then press ENTER.
Close Windows Explorer.
Start Word 2010, and then open the document.
Reset Word registry

Trouble when adding / modifying authorization objects in a role through ERM

We're having some issues when configuring ERM, we followed the Post-Installation guides and we are done with the config part, but when we try to do an example creating a role, we're getting an error message when attempt to add the authorization data.

Settings need to be checked-
1. Connectors must be identical for all components for a particular system and test connection should be successful.
2. Unicode should be checked for RAR connector.
3. Patch Level should be same on GRC and Backend and all backend post-installation activites must be completed - (BC set activation, Program etc)
4. RAR Objects Import must be done.
5. ERM Background jobs must be completed before doing Role Creation- Transaction/Object/Field sync, Org Value sync and activity sync.
If above activities are done, no issues should occur in tcode/Object assignment in role.

Message application freezing when adding new contact from the messages application
if someone is sending the message with the phone number included in the text, i touch the number and whait till options will pops up, choosing create new contact and ok. then the messages application freezes for a long time... few minutes. have to double press the home button and switch of the message app from the background. So have to start message app again to be able to use it. How to sort this? Its happening more than one year and have changed few phones already.
Snow Leopard and iCloud compatibility is very limited, and it may be that the phone's OS requires iCloud for the syncing:

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Library error when adding contact or when logging in
The messenger server has a replica of the partition holding the users.
It's an OES 2 sp2 server, and the GW Messenger is 2.04.
Sometimes we see an error that says 'Library error' when adding a contact, or it doesn't show all users that exists with the search parameter given.
We also sporadically see a 'Library error' when some users log in to it.
Looking in the log I see an error that says 0xAE16 when users log in fails.
I can find the 0xAE11 error in the TID's but not the 0xAE16, I did find an article on the forums, mentioning this problem http://forums.novell.com/novell-prod...or-server.html, they mention memory problems, so it seems to me there is a bug that needs fixing.I've disabled the '/diruseralias-"Internet EMail Address"' setting that was set up in the strtup.ma and strtup.aa scripts.
I've also, for now at least, chosen another replica.
I haven't seen the errors yet, so here's hoping... -
I added a contact to my iphone 4s and when I did a sync manually it is not showing up on my MAC in address book - please help....I checked off sync all contacts in iTunes - does it only work one way from computer to phone?
Is it because the new itunes looks different.
View > Show Sidebar
Then it should work just the same as on your old computer. -
i added 3 contacts and saved on my iphone 5, but do not appear on my list of contacts. the names appear when they text or call me. I have to go search for their messages when i need to call them?
Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty

My contacts have been transferred from my iPhone5 to iPhone6 . I now need to back them up in a new PC in a separate address book How can I do it without adding all contacts from Outlook when I synch back from iTunes ?

They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod. -
Coredump when adding new data to a document
Hi,
I have managed to get a coredump when adding data to a document,
initially using the Python API but I can reproduce it with a dbxml script.
I am using dbxml-2.2.13 on RedHat WS 4.0.
My original application reads XML data from files, and adds them
one at a time to a DbXML document using XmlModify.addAppendStep
and XmlModify.execute. At a particular document (call it "GLU.xml") it
segfaults during the XmlModify.execute call. It is not malformed data in
the file, because if I remove some files that are loaded at an earlier stage,
GLU.xml is loaded quite happily and the segfault happens later. Changing
my application so that it exits just before reading GLU.xml, and loading GLU.xml's
data into the container file using the dbxml shell's "append" command produces
the same segfault. The stacktrace is below. Steps #0 to #7 inclusive are the
same as the stacktrace I got when using the Python API.
Can anyone give me any suggestions? I could send the dbxml container file and
dbxml script to anyone who would be prepared to take a look at this problem.

(ranging in size from 1Kb to 140Kb). If I manipulate the order so that the above data
is loaded earlier in the sequence, it inserts fine and I get the coredump when
