Malware issue, Reinstalling OS (Big Problem)

Keep in mind, I am not IT expert, had no help, so I did the best I could....
I have a Lenovo ThinkCenter Edge 72 (3484HPU)
Got some Malware on it, need wipeout my OS, start over. Tried to insert a copy of Windows 7 64 bit Pro but the BIOS wasn't set up to boot from the DVD drive. After searching how to do this, I did a few things.
1. Changed the boot order to have my Optiarc DVD-RW AD-7290H as the first boot selection.
2. Saw on a Lenovo message board concerning a similar problem to make sure my boot mode was in Legacy and not in UEFI. I saw no option to switch, so I disabled UEFI.
Now, my PC won't boot at all. It powers on, and then my Dell Monitor stays blank/black and the power button stays amber instead of green when it powers on.
Stuck! What do I do?

I'm brazilian and my english know-how is very poor...but

in partitioning tools, delete all linux partitions, and create one partition apple hfs, or DOS. done, abort the installation whit ctrlaltdel, or press power button.

    Finally I discover what were happening to me...
    When you remove oracle XE, the uninstall system "forget" to delete the route of the bin directory in the PATH variable

    You may try the list and see how far down you need to go; you have probably been through 1) and 2), and 4) is both reversible and more thorough than 3); 5) is hardly relevant, so you may end up with 6).
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Small problem led to big problem

    I had a few contacts that existed on my Centro which did not exist on my desktop.  So I contacted the Palm Chat Support.  The person who helped me had me perform several things which eventually led to my phone getting stuck in a loop.  Things were not getting better so I asked to be transferred to a supervisor.  The supervisor told me the only solution was a hard reset.  I finally agreed to this.  Now when I reinstall any applications (not third-party) such as calendar or address book, my phone won't come on.  I can see the calendar or the address book but when I go to turn on the phone, it goes back into the endless loop.  A soft reset will not take it out of the loop, only a hard reset.  When I do a hard reset, I then have the ability to use the phone again but I have no data in my calendar, address book, etc.  So essentially I have either a PDA or a Phone--but I can't have both.  This started as a very small problem (a few missing contacts which I could have probably/should have probably just manually entered into the desktop).  Now I have a very big problem, simply b/c of what I was directed to do by Support.  Is there any hope?

    There could be to issues going on here that you are having this result. One thing could be corrupted data such as your contacts or calendar, the other could be corrupted programs that are coming back from a hotsync.
    The first I would like to troubleshoot as it is the easiest. To fix this what we need to do is hard reset your device. The instructions to do that is here http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/887_en.html this tells you how to do all types of resets. Also, what we need to do is rename your backup folder. What this folder is, it hold all your programs from the last time you synced your PC. On your computer go here
    Palm Desktop 4.2 and below
    My Computer--> C drive --> Program files --> Palm/PalmOne--> your hotsync username
    Palm Desktop 6.2.2
    My Documents/Documents --> Palm OS Desktop --> your hotsync username
    Right click on your backup folder and rename it to "backupOld". Resync your device to the same user name and you will get all your contacts, calendar, tasks, and memos.
    You can install the programs again but make sure they are compatible with the device. Also try one program again and wait 24 hours to see if the same thing happens again. This way you know what program is causing the issue.

    The particular model of MacBook Pro is a key detail here, as the Mac model will determine the oldest version it can boot, as well as whether it'll boot more current software.
    AFAIK there is and was no Lion installer DVD available.  It was a download.  AFAIK, the last DVDs commonly available were for Snow Leopard 10.6.  Snow Leopard DVDs are still available in the Apple online store in various countries, if your MacBook Pro is old enough to be able to boot that version.
    If your MacBook Pro purchase with Lion wasn't registered with Apple, then you'll have to discuss this directly with the Apple Support folks, or repurchase Lion from the Mac App Store (which will usually involve a call to Apple for a redemption code as it's old software), or you'll "purchase" (it's free) Mavericks OS X 10.9 and wipe and install that assuming your MacBook Pro supports Mavericks.  If you didn't purchase the MacBook Pro from Apple (and it was shipped with an older release), then you'll end up acquiring a redemption code from Apple for Lion, or installing Mavericks.
    For completeness and given you're probably already aware of this, the usual approach for restoration with recent OS X versions is via the recovery boot (more details).  If the disk is wiped and you can't get Lion, then you'll probably end up reinstalling with Target Disk Mode using another Mac with a compatible FireWire or Thunderbolt port and a cable.  Or visit the local Apple Store.
    sputniki: Once OS X 10.7 or 10.9 has been reinstalled, yes, getting Time Machine configured and going is undoubtedly on the agenda.  But had there been a viable backup here, I expect jianghua would have used it.

    After upgrade ok for XDCAM ISSUE but now PREVIEW Monitor is black. Only some ramdom color noise(like a minimal style-pencil contour of images on timeline with black screen under)
    Little preview monitor in Secondary work well. Preview Monitor not work on: Single monitor, dual monitor, full e quarter modality. Is a big..big problem. Apart XDCAM issue before upgrade no problems on Preview Monitor

    You might be better off rolling back to 1.0.2. XDCAM HD seemed pretty stable with that version. We use XDCAM HD as our primary acquisition format and have no plans on upgrading Color past 1.0.2 anytime in the near future.
    Run a Google search for an app called "FCS Remover". Use that to uninstall Color. Follow the directions on this page for steps on how to reinstall just Color (yes, I know that this link talks about Compressor and QMaster, just substitute those apps with Color).

  • Lenovo B590 big problem, HELP!!!

    I have big problem with my Lenovo B590 20206 laptop. [windows 7 pro 64 bit installed]
    After turn my laptop to standby mode (manualy or after 1 hour without use laptop) and when I want to wake up laptop all what I see is black screen and I must hold push power button for 5 second to force off.
    BTW when laptop is in standby mode everything looks good, led is blinking and after pushing any button I hear that fan and hard disk is starting but all what i got is black screen, even CTRL + ALT + DEL doesnt work.
    I've tried replace RAM, reinstalled alot of drivers but without success. Windows 7 of course works perfect, only sleep mode (standby] doesnt work.
    Another problem is that i cant update bios, my current is 1.10 which is not recent imho (maybe bios update would help with problem above?). Ive downloaded  BIOS Update Utility for Windows 7 from lenovo site but when i tried to update i ve got a warning like this:
    so i tried to update from Windows 7 and BIOS Update Utility for CD ISO image and i got error "THE SYSTEM PROGRAM FILE IS DAMAGED. THE PROCESS HAS BEEN CANCELED."
    My last question is about disk replacement in that lenovo b590, original 500gb disk is 7mm high, can I replace it with 9,5mm disk?
    Any help would be appreciated, sorry for my english btw.

  • Big problem - Lost all saves in many games

    Hi there, i have a big problem - few days ago, suddenly there was no sound in all games and apps - i tried to restart ipad, shut down, delete the game from background, restart again, sound was on, for a few hours it worked, then when i started other game, suddenly sound goes off again - no action pushing the side button to increase the sound, repaired somehow after few restarts... Thats not the biggest problem, i get used to it, but worse i lost saves in 2 games - when i started game- the game started from beginning, no profile, no saved progress, no purchases - i did nothing to that game, just normally started as many times ago,
    did not delete the game from ipad, just playing as usually, but now there are no game saved data... I dont understand, the same thing happened with another game- i installed a new game yesterday, played for a few hours, then started again - all progress deleted, game goes from the start - what the **** is it?
    Some kind of virus or what ? I did nothing unusual - it all started when the sound gone off multiple times, always turned on after few restarts, but after few days
    The saved data and progress in some games started to disappear after normally starting the game - i am very sad about this, because i played the game for a long time,had a big progress,lot of purchases for real money and now the profile is lost... Please help, i am really disappointed about this

    This is not a virus, or any other kind of malware. Unless you have jailbroken your iPad, there's nothing it could be infected with.
    Regarding the sound issue, since it affected multiple apps, it has to be a system issue. It could be hardware or it could be a software glitch. First thing to try is to restart the iPad, and if that doesn't work, reset it:

    If none of those work, you'll want to restore your iPad. (Instructions can be found from the link above.)
    As for the game saves, note that deleting an app also deletes its data. This is normal. If the games that you deleted and re-downloaded don't store your data in some kind of online account, it's gone. If you have been backing up your iPad, you should be able to recover it from those backups... If not, you have learned a hard lesson in the importance of backups.

    Turn off SnapChat.
    Go to Settings > Notification Center
    Turn off SnapChat.
    Restart the device.

    Turn on SnapChat.
    Test the issue.

    Hello! After erasing all the data on my computer, it wants to reinstall the Mountain lion OS. With my apple ID, with which I haven't been purchasing anytning before, I went to the apple shop and bought Mountain lion OS (and the order status says now - complete). But when I try to start the installation again - it says that this ID was not used to purchase lion....Does that mean - I need to purchase Lion OS as well?
    Even if it is so, the problem is that Lion OS is not available in my country's store anymore....so I switched to the US store and bought it there...
    I have Mountain lion purchased in my country's store, and Lion os - purchased in the US store.
    For some reason that's also becomming a big problem, because when I try to start the installation and login to my ID - there is no connection between the apple stores in different countrees....so if in my ID I choose US as a country, it goes to the US store and says- I did not purchase Mountain lion os, If I choose my country in my ID - it goes to my country's store and says - I did not purchase lion...What now????

    Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
    - Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear.  (For iOS 6 older, hold down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
    - Relaunch the App and try again.
    - Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    - Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    - Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

  • Big problems with slideshows

    Hi, I've a big problem with iPhoto (and Aperture too, but I'll say later).
    Two days ago I was creating a small slideshow (18 pictures) and everything was fine. Suddenly, while I was looking for a theme, switching between 3 of them, iPhoto stopped to work. No ESC, no key, I had to restart my iMac, turning it off.
    From this moment every slideshow I select, iPhoto stop to work and need a force quit. So I restored a library, from Time machine, but nothing changed.
    So I bought Aperture, but nothing changed, using iPhoto Library.
    Now I've created an Aperture Library, importing in it my old iPhoto Library. Is there any way to "clean" iPhoto, reinstalling it from new? Do I need such a action?

    That means that there is something in your account that's the culprit.  First try the following:
    1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
    2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
    User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
    or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
    Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
    3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
    NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    If that fails it might be another preference file that's causing the problem.  Here's how to test for that:
    Trouble Shooting Preferences
    NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    1 - close all applications.
    2 - open your Home/Library folder and Option-drag (copy) the Preferences folder to the Desktop. 
    3 - select the contents of your Home/Library/Preferences folder and drag them into the Trash bin in the Dock.  You will be asked to provide your Admin password.
    4 - reboot.
    5 - run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed
    6 - If the problem is fixed:
    A - open the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
    B - Open the Preferences  folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Home/Library/Preferences folder.
    C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace or Skip button.
    D - reboot.
    7 - If the problem is NOT fixed, drag the contents of the Preference folder on the Desktop into the Home/Library/Preference folder and replace the entire contents that were created by clicking on Replace.
    8 - reboot.

  • Having big problems with Creative Zen Micro Photo!! I need much urgent help!

    Hi. I am having a big problem with my MP3 Creative Zen Micro Photo device at the computer.Here is the thing:Before I bought this I had the regular Zen Micro & having fun with it. I had no problems with that when I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs. So I bought the Zen Micro Photo & installed it my computer. As normal I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs & pictures.So I reinstalled Windows XP at my computer, and when I installed the CD that followed to transfer new songs, the Windows said that it's an unknown thing I have connected in the USB.So I installed Service Pack & 2. I have tried to install drivers from the cd but it seems that there are no drivers on the cd! The big problem is that when I connect the MP3 to the computer, it doesn't read it's a Zen Micro, it's just unknown! So the Zen Micro Photo Media Explorer program doesn't work & I can't transfer songs or picture on it! And it just happened after I re-installed Windows on my computer. The same thing happened on my brother's computer after he re-installed windows. And when I connect the MP3 to the USB, it says that it's not a USB 2.0, but .! And I am sure it is 2.0 because it has always been like that before I re-installed windows. Also the MP3 does not re-charge when I put it my computer! The battery is just the same, it tries to do it but it doesn't. So I am using my sisters computer to charge the MP3 & transfer songs. I have tried everything but I can't seem to understand what the problem is? I have never experienced something like this before, and I really hope you can help me with this! To be honest I think what I am missing is the driver. So can someone PLEASE provide me the link for the driver? I have downloaded all those 3 on www.creative.com, but they are none of them!
