MAM config - Free Sorting

Hi everyone,
Has anyone used the flag "Free Sorting" in the config for MAM-Scenario-BusinessProcesses? I'm using MAU 1.0 SR3. There's not much documentation on how this flag is used. The description of the field in F1 just says "Free Sorting on Mobile Device".
Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks to both Laid and Sid for the quick responses.
I've switched the Free Sorting on, replicated the config SyncBOs and synchronized my clients.
I was assuming that I would go into the UVM to set the options for Free Sorting, however I can't find such as place for making the settings. (I'm assuming the options that you guys are talking about is set on the client).
Could you point me in the right direction please?

On your machine there is 1 x 6-in1 Bridge Media Adapter (supports SD Card, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMedia Card, xD-Picture Card).
I think you must install Driver for this Adapter. Usually you can find all Drivers on your Tools und Utilities CD. If not you can find all supported Drivers on following link:

Config Free and Windows XP

Hi!
I've got this problem:
I'm using windows xp and config free. the "use windows"-checkbox in the wlan settings from xp is unchecked. But configfree shows this message "Another application is controling the wlan". I want to use config free, but i'm not be able to do it. What can be wrong?!

Try see in Services if the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running. If so, stop it (just temporarily this time) and then go back to ConfigFree and try configuring the WLAN again. Working? If so, set the Wireless Zero Configuration service Startup type to "manually" or "disabled".
The WLAN config part of ConfigFree arrived from version 5. So if You have earlier versions then you will not be able to configure the WLAN from ConfigFree.
The later version of the software is however downloadable from Toshiba file web.

L20-155: Can't install Config Free - "Not Found NDSFiles Folder"

After 2 weeks i install win xp pro on my l20-155, and now i`ll like to install config free (confree-xp-55013-du.zip),
but there comes an message thats tell:
"Not Found NDSFiles Folder", and the install stops!

Sometimes the installations problems occur because of wrong installation order.
If you want install the OS manually, without to use the recovery cd you have to install the Toshiba drivers tools and utilities in the right order. Its very important that you install firstly the chipset driver and then the common modules. After this installation you should install the common drivers like graphic driver, sound driver, etc.

How to config Free goods process like rebate

Dear Masters,
I have a problem like this:
Our customer want using free goods by accrual sales volume. If in a period, sales volume can have exp 1000 m3, buyer will get a free goods. But as I know SAP std does not support like this! Is there anyway to solve problem?

Hi,
The process is not directly supported in SAP, however there is a suggestion not sure how far it solves your problem.
1. Seperate order type (if the volume of such schemes is high).
2. Using VA05 find the volume of sales for such scheme product.
3. Mainatian free goods procedure for scheme product.
4. In the new order type put in the quantity referenced from VA05, have the free goods determined with TANN for the free goods & for the higher level item make it non deliverable.
By this way you would be capture the quantity for which the free goods have been given away as well as useful for reporting purpose.
There is no direct rebate like set-up possible for free goods without any custom development to my knowledge.

"Event" free sorting of photos - by me, not by the software?

iPhoto insists on asserting that the date of everything is important and grouping things into "events." This is defeating, or at least creating a huge hassle for, what I am doing with most of the pictures. I am either grouping things into large albums (family photos for 2007) or into projects I am working on where the pictures are taken over months and years. How can I eliminate or minimize events? I would love to simply delete them. I don't find any way to tell iPhoto not to do this or to get it to use a broad definition of time (like a year) to group things this way if it must. I've considered just putting all imports into one event - does that create a greater risk of file corruption messing me up?

You can manually sort photos in photo mode (turn event titles off)
BUT - to me it sound like albums and folders are exactly what you are looking for - make a Family folder containing albums for each family member and another one for each year - a work folder containing an album for each project, etc
Then just pretend that event do not exist and only work with the albums in the appropriate folders
If you want all the photos in one event that should not be a problem but I see no reason to bother - just use the albums/folders and ignore the events totally

Qosimo G20: Wlan WEP settings not possible running Config free?

Hi!
I have a Qosimo G20 running XP media center as OS.
Default Toshiba ConfigFree is installed.
Tried to find out how to set WEP key, but trying to do so in network config/settings task was halted with a message.
This message referring to Microsoft KB 871122.
Wireless Zero Configuration seams to be replaced by ConfigFree (or other software I'm not aware of).
I can not follow the instruction as I see it as I have ConfigFree installed.
Have anyone out there encountered this problem and solved it?

Hi
ConfigFree is a monitoring tool and helps you to monitor your connection. It allows you to pick up the information about used connections and helps you to have a better overview.
You can not use this tool for network configuration. If you want to do this please do this:
- activate the WiFi card at first
- go into Control panel > Network Connections > right mouse click on Wireless network and choose Properties
- under "preferred networks" add your WLAN and configure "Data encryption"

Incompatible Config Free and Wireless LAN driver/manager

Hi,
The *ConfigFree 5.90.05AB*, available in the Satellite MCE A100-498 download drivers area, is incompatible with the wireless lan manager *Intel PROSet Utility 12.4.0.0.3* (driver *Intel PRO/Wireless 3945/4965/5100/5300 12.4.0.21.1*), also available in the same place.
When both installed, the *Conectivity Doctor* and *Profiles* tool returns the error "+cfmain.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience+".
Is there any other version of ConfigFree that works with this wireless lan driver/manager version? Will Toshiba release another ConfigFree version?

You can install what you want but please follow the exact installations order .
It is very important.
All offered drivers, tools and utilities are tested and I cannot imagine Toshiba will offer some new version for 3 years old notebooks.

FI - Sort Key config

Dear All,
My requiremnt is when i pass billing documnet my corrosponding accounting document - assignment field need to cpature Material (MATNR) from delivery document.
I have two options. One i can do it with user exit where BSEG will pick MATNR from corrosponding billing document.
Another option is i can do it with config of sort key. I made one sort key where in field 1 i put MATNR. And assign this sort key in Recon G/L master of corrosponding customer code. But it is not working.
Accounting document - assignment field is blank coming. Even i tried to assign that sort key in customer master but it is of no use.
Did i missed out anything?

1. When you give the sort key the assignment field in FBL3N gets filled with the value that has been gien in the sort key.
2. The second use is you can sort the assignment field in FBL3N.
Another functionality or use of sort key is
Where Sort Keys are created
Use Tcode OB16.
Why we are using sort keys.
Straight answer to this is sort key offers great help in Automatic Clearing.
First we understand how does it function. If you have created Bank GL and there you have used 001 (posting date) as sort key then whenever you make entry for that bank Gl your sort key "Posting date" is automatically updated in "Assignment" field unless you manually insert anything in assignment field.
Let's take a simple example for why sort keys are helpful.
Suppose, there is GR/IR account created with sort key 014 (Purchase Order) so at the time of
1. Goods receipt Purchase order with item no will automatically filled in assignment field.
Inventory dr. 15000
GR/IR cr 15000.
In GR/IR account item Assignment would be 150000 10.
2. Invoice through MIRO will also feed Purchase Order with item no in assignment field.
GR/IR dr . 15000
Tax dr. 5000
Vendot cr. 20000
In GR/IR account item Assignment would be 150000 10.
Now your entry is over. There are large number of such entries posted in the period for the GR/IR account.
So, manual clearing becomes very tedious for GR/IR clearing account. In order to avoid that Automatic Clearing program is configured in OB74, where you give field ZUONR i.e. assignment in first criterion. So, line items with same assignment and amount will be cleared automatically upon F.13 transaction.

Hash-Like Sorting Algorithm

By the way, I'm not sure if this is a preexisting sort or if it has a name or anything.
Okay, I was just writing a method that sorts an array of ints with very, very, quick runtime- much better than Quicksort and even Radix. (in many cases)

This is O(n+N), where n = num elements, N = largest element
This makes the least efficient aspect eliminating the empty spaces(zeros). As of now, I am not concerned about duplicates (dont want to get into buckets) and I dont care about negatives or zero.
What I wanted to know was:
1.) Is there any way to improve the efficiency of this sort? (runtime, not O notation)
2.) Anyway to use this sort for other types of data? (Other primitives and/or objects)
-Note: I have already thought of and discarded hashCode() as a way of implementing this, since hashCode() doesnt help order the parameters

To quickly compare objects, you could cast your object to a Comparable object, and just use the Comparable.compareTo(Object o) method, i think this works for all library classes, but you will have to implement Comparable on any of the classes you make, I used this on my most recent tree(got it from a friend tho) and it works pretty fast, way faster than the toString() method, trust me.

Please help, tracing apps

Hi, I am developing an application about tracing for preschoolers.
Currently, I am developing a application and is using touch screen that does tracing. Currently, I am using mouseListener because if I am not wrong, touch screen basically equals mouse clicks. So now my application can does drawing. Next, I need to display a letter say "A", how can I validate it? E.g when user trace A, if position is right, tracing display, else tracing will not appear. My 2 cents was using colour recgonition. E.g, system display "A" in grey, when user click the "A" part which is grey in colour, ink become black and paint over the areas being traced. I have no idea how to start searching because I think I am being rather unclear. Hope somebody could understand me and give me some opinions as of how could I do it or some resource for me to research on. If don't understand, feel free to post and I will try my best to explain again.

BSODs lock ups and flakey firewire port - help ??

Okay I'm really getting fustrated over this laptop it's nearly 2 weeks old
and I've already had 2 BSODs the odd crash where the mouse moves but nothing
else around it works so a forced reboot was needed.
Today I had a BSOD all i did was run some untility from the taskbar called
network doctor or something.
error message:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (no address information supplied)
STOP: 0x00000000050
someone suggested that I may have a memory problem or my page file is corrupt.
anyway here's a run down on what i've installed so far with my laptop.
- Installed all XP security updates and patches
- Installed Firefox 1.0.1 (don't trust IE6.0 yet)
- Installed iriver download manager (my mp3 player)
- Installed winamp 2.0 and Creative Notebook Cam.
I've ran a forced boot chkdsk and no problems found.
Another thing I found interesting was nearly everytime my laptop bsods I usually
find a a yellow marker over my 1394 net adapter (firewire port) in device mananger
("cannot start device") don't know if that's related or not. A reboot seems to
clear this yellow marker but I am rather unhappy BSODs are no laughing matter.
My laptop model is the Equium A60-181 (Intel P4 HT 3.2Ghz 512Mb RAM)
Anyone else had similar problems or recommendations?

I understand you that you are unhappy with this all problems but there can be a lot of reasons for that. In my opinion this can happened because of some unnecessary update or some drivers installed by third-party software that you installed on your notebook.
Please reinstall OS using Recovery CD. After firs boot check in device manager if there is some hardware problem. If not you than try to start Config free (Connectivity doctor) and some other Toshiba tools to check if everything is ok.
If everything is ok try to install SP2 if you dont have it on your machine (just SP2 and not separately updates and patches). I am not sure but some of A60 are delivered with SP2.
Install all your programs slowly and follow carefully what happened after every step that you done.

Tecra A8 PTA83E - Value Added Package installation

I've been unable to install the Toshiba Value Added Pack (vap-vista-1011btn-en) or any version before it. I have spoke to Tosh tech support on numerous occasions and they always promise Customer Support will respond to the query, they never do.
Toward the end of the installation, whilst it is running the "Computing space requirements" process an error dialogue box pops containing "ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLVALZ_MESSAGE". The only option available is "ok" and when this is selected the install rolls back and the finish screen says "The wizard was interrupted before TOSHIBA Value Added Package could be completely installed".
I am, as I am sure you can understand, VERY frustrated with this problem. I purchased (the very expensive) Vista Ultimate as Toshiba claim this Laptop is Vista ready, and it may well be, but the drivers and software provided are not. I am also having problems with:
Bluetooth
Config Free Utility
WinBIOS updater
Sound Driver
Graphics Driver
I will save these problems for another thread as I would like to deal with these problems one at a time.

You are running the 64bit version of Vista???
Im not very surprised that you are not able to install the Toshiba Vista Value Added Package.
All the drivers, tools and utilities are designed for Vista 32bit version!!
In my knowledge the 32bit drivers dont run on the 64bit Vista OS!
Regarding the ID ERR NOTINSTALLVALZ MESSAGE error message;
It seems the BIOS update could solve this issue.
This was reported in different threads here in the Toshiba forum!!!

Easy Keys and Fn+F8 (WLAN on/off) don't work

Hello guys,
I have bought a new Toshiba Satellite A100-490 last week. I have tested all hot keys and function keys with the pre-installed Windows XP MCE. Everything worked.
But I needed a new customized installation of Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 on the notebook. So I installed the XP Pro from a original CD-ROM and all Toshiba drivers, except of some special Managers (Assist, Config Free, SD Memory Format, Wireless LAN Client Manager, ...).
From the Easy Keys (Browser, Media Player, Play/Pause, Stop, Backward, Forward) only the Browser and Media Player Easy Key work. Which driver is responsible for the other Easy Keys (Play/Pause, Stop, Backward, Forward)?
The next problem is, that the Fn+F8 (WLAN switch) hot key doesn't work. But when I disable the WLAN over the hardware switch, there comes a MessageBox that I have to enable the WLAN over the hardware switch first. Normally there has to come a On-Screen-Display. What is wrong?

Can't see any orders in Mobile Device

Hi all,
As described in topic "How to deploy MAM 2.5 into MI Server", I have just installed MI and deployed MAM 2.5 into an WebAS 6.40 SP13.
I have also, with the help of the functional guys from my team, followed through the Server Side Configuration part of the MAM Config Guide and created the scenario. I have assigned my MAM user (same userID of the backend) to the scenario and I'm now trying to see the orders of that scenario in the mobile device.
The problem is that I can synchronize the device but I can't see anything in the MAM besides de User View Manager.
I executed MEREP_MON and for my mobile ID I can see 1 I-Waiting for each SyncBO, 5 I-Error for SyncBOs MAM25_001 and MAM25_010 (but by the times of the logs, it seems that they are quite old already) and 5 I-Finished for all the other SyncBOs. Also, there are 5 0-Sent for each SyncBO but for MAM25_017, that has 19 0-Sent. All the other fields are 0.
What does the I-Waiting and I-Finished and so on mean? How can I make my user to see his orders?

I understand that the result you see in the Worklist monitor doesn't help.Did you try the recommendation in the FAQ.

If it doesnot help, try the following
(1)In the SPRO under MAM Customizing settings, go in to
"Assign Orders and Stocks to a Technician" and then double click the "Assignment Profile(Assigned to your MAM User ID in User dependant data)" and change the Order Assignment & Notification Assignment to "User-->Employee Number", if it is assigned to a Work Center OR a Planner Group.You can reset this back to the original settings later if required.
(2)Replicate the MAM25_090 & MAM25_095 via transaction MEREP_EX_REPLIC in the middleware.
(3) Synchronize the data from your MI Client
(4) If no data exists Monitor your Worklist as you did earlier.
