MAM25 Equipment (de) installation to functional location

Hi Guru's,
We are trying to uninstall an equipment from a functional location and then reinstall the same equipment to another functional location, however this does not always work for us.(mam25_030)
It seems to work, when the uninstall happens before the installation. It fails when installation happens before the uninstall. This is however dependend on the order on which the syncBO's are being handled, or so it seems.
- Floc with synckey 1 - uninstall equipment
- Floc with synckey 2 - install equipment
this works
But if the order is this:
- Floc with synckey 2 - uninstall equipment
- Floc with synckey 1 - install equipment
Has anyone come across this feature, and/or has a solution for this. Is there a way to influence the order of the syncBO's?

This can be achieved but obviously the equipment hierarchy would be disturbed because the equipment can either be installed on a functional location or a superior equipment not both the two. What you can do is the functional location for the superior equipment is to be extended so as to cover the subordinate equipments and obviously there would not be any direct link between the equipment and the superior equipment.
Equipment: Recorder installed on FLoc: Plant-Recorder
Equipment: Sensor installed on Floc:Plant-Recorder-Sensor
that is how you can achieve it but the relationship between the equipment and superior equipment is to be compromised.

Equipment Not Allowed at Functional Location ( Inst. at FunLoc is selected)

Hi All,
I have configure Structure Indicator like XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Now I have maintain functional location label like
e.g ABCD-EFG XYZ ( there is a space between G and X) .
I have already allowed installation of all equipment category to functional locations at configuration. But still system gives me an error like Installing equipment is not allowed at functional location ABCD-EFG XYZ (MSG NO IA0002).
Now if I select ABCD system is allowing to install equipment at ABCD.
If space is a special character and i have not maintained S , then why system has created that label, it must throw an error while creating that label.
Please suggest.

Equipments can be installed at functional location if the following changes have been made
1. Configuration for equipment category installation (Already done in your case)
2. In the functional location master data in structure tab "equipment installation allowed" should be activated.
Please allow the equipment installation from functional location master data .

Equipment list in a functional location

Hi,
My scenario is as follow:
I have a functional location with a equipment list. I have to create a maintenance plan that affects to all the equipments.
All the equipments have to be controlled with the same parameters.
How can I act?
Could I create an unique maintenance plan to the functional location or could I have to create a maintenance plan for ech equipment?
How can I check that all the equipments are controlled?

it depends on your requirement only for example if you cost analysis is based on FL only ,then create one maintenance plan for that FL and attach the equipments in the object list ,hence once the call object is generated you can see the list of the equipment for maintenance activities,the cost incurred will be reflected to the FL
OR other thing is if all the equipments are to be maintained at regular interval with same parameter then create a maintenance plan with several maintenance item,in which system will create a call object for each maintenance item,drawaback is if you change any parameter ,then it will affect all the maintenance item attached to it
simple one is create maintenance plan for each equipment

Multiple equipment in one Order / Functional location?

Hi,
i assigned the more than equipment in one functional location and When we entered the order we wanna add more than equipment.
is that possible? Order screen should be as follow;

Not possible,
Instead you can have an Enhancement tab to list the Extra Equipments or All Equipments by using User-Exit IWO10018. (Refer this to know how to do?).
Another option as mentioned by Sebastian Lenartowicz is to have all your Equipments as Objects in the Objects tab of the Order.

Assign equipment from hierarchy to functional location

Hi all,
I'm new to PM so the question might be a bit stupid. But I have got a hierarchy for a piece of equipment. The highest level is a recorder. The lower levels are sensors that i need to calibrate. I now want to assign the sensors (lower level) to functional locations. It can be possible that each lower level is assigned to another functional location. Is this possible? I now get the error message that the piece of equipment is assigned to a hierarchy.

Equipment installed at multiple functional location

Hi gurus,
Is possible that one equipment be installed at more than one functional location?
If not allowed, is there any SAP document stated that one equipment only allow be installed at one functional location?

It all depends on how you define your equipment in SAP system. SAP system will have one unique number say 123456 for one equipment. Say this is Pump no.1. Due to your requirements if you want to have the same equipment at other location and want to create another Equipment for Pump no.1., System does not stop you. It will provide you another number say 123457. With this, hope you understand the concept of why one equipment will be there at one place at one time.

Euipment installation problem at functional location.....

hello all,
i'm facing problem with equipment installation at functional location...
my functional location heirarchy is level 1,2,3
i have tick the istallation allowed check box in level-3 functional location,
as per senario defind in the help document.,   it will not allow to install euipment in levels above i.e, superiour levels level 1,2
Ex:
functional location might have the following structure:
Level 1 Conveyor installation not allowed
Level 2 Stage A installation not allowed
             Stage B installation not allowed
Level 3 Motor 1 installation allowed
             Motor 2 installation allowed
          Conveyor belt 1 installation allowed
and so on.
but in my server it is allowing to install euipment in the superiour F.. locations also ...
i.e, it is allowing to install equipment at laval 1,2
i need to know any config.. required to it..... to get the above functionality or the above senario is wrong...?

i have created functional locations like below
level 1 : CMR
level 2: CMR-A
             CMR-B
level 3: CMR-A01
            CMR-A02
            CMR-B01
            CMR-B02
and i marked F location CMR-A01 as Equipment install allowed
now the problem is when i am trying to install equipment at CMR-A01 Functional loaction it allowing asusal..
but the CMR functional location (level 1) also allowing to install the equipment
so what is the senario..
it is importent to me....

ABC Indicator for Equipment & Functional Location Same or Different

Hi All,
We can find ABC indicators in both Equipment & Functional Location (FL) master data.
Q. Please tell me....whether these fields are different for Equipment & FL or same??
Problem is that I could see the same field name ABCKZ for both Equipment & FL in tables V_EQUI & ILOA respectively.

An indicator that is assigned by the procedure of ABC analysis.
The following ABC indicators are possible:
A - Important
B - Less important
C - Relatively unimportant
According to these criteria, "A" materials are those materials that are of greatest importance for the production operations of a company.
Examples of use for ABC indicators are vendor master records, material master records, and master records of *technical objects.*
So ABC indicator is same for equipments and Functional LocationBUT value may be diferent

PM_NET     Object links, master data
PM_OBJLIST Serial Number History
PM_ORDER   Service and Maintenance Or
PM_PLAN    Routings
PM_QMEL    Maintenance Notifications
From the above list click the suitable one and press database table tab. You will get all the relevant database tables.

Requirement of functional location

Hi friends
Please clarify about the below issue
1. Client is supplying the equipment to customer as a rental , sale.Once the delevrey is over they usually installing the equipment to thier functional location. For this use actually we defined the functional location as customer location(city) name. Now the issue is if the customer is moving to different location is required to create new functional location? If so what we need to do for old functional location?
2. The client usually receiving the serialised material (machine) from supplier and then selling /renting it to customer. However they will not provide the services If they sold the machine to customer. If any repair the client will recive the equipment from customer and sent to supplier (if warrnty) or sent to sub contractor (if non warranty). Both the time they follow the procurement (PO) process. For non warranty repair they raise the billing agianst the customer by sales process. Now tell me is required to create the equipment master ?

The process is clearly explined in the previous posts . In addition to that
1. For each sales ( Delivery ) create equipment and do the installation at functional location here the Fuctional location is same as your customer premises. so incase you are making Notification you will have all the details and also partner details . If the location is changing and you will know only at time of complaint generaintg you can think of changing the location data through cuszomization before registering the complaint .
2. If youn want to track warranty and need more controll over your services you must create eqipment master .

Functional Location field is Grayed out in change mode

Dear Experts ,
I have created an equipment automatically through serial number managed material .
But the equipment created has no functional location assigned to it .
Also when in change mode of the equipment the functional location field is grayed out & there is no provision to dismantle & reassign the same .
Pls tell me how can i assign a functional loaction to this automatically created equipment ??

I have put a tick for the checkbox " Inst . at Func. Loc" against the said equipment category
Is ther anywhere else in IMG that i need 2 assign/check .
while trying 2 assign a functional location for this equipment the system give the error :
No InstallLocation entered: Data transfer not possible

Activation of Function Location field in Fleet Objects

In Fleet Management, the Function Location field is inactive by standard. How can we make the Function Location field active for usage?

Cannot input a functional location

Hi Gurus,
I created a new equipment category. but it does not allow me to input a functional location on structure tab but when im using the standard M it does allow me to install it into a functional location. i check the field selection and they are all "input" what seems to be the problem?
