Mamba razer mouse & OS X crash

hi, i hope you all tech geniuses are doing fine. i recently bought mamba razor viewless gaming mouse to play diablo and sky rim on my mac. downloaded software(synapse 2) from razor site. now whenever  it is connected to system, mac restarts again and again after every 3 minutes. what is this issue and how to resolve it. my system configurations are as follow
OS X 10.9.3
2.3 GHz core i7
i hope some genius will help me
Many regards

You've seemingly isolated this to a problem with Razer's software.
The Razer web site does indicate their software is supported on OS X 10.9.
For now, you can boot your Mac into Safe Mode and remove the Razer mouse software, or (apparently, based on your description) leave the Razer disconnected pending a fix.
You can either decide to return that Razer product to the supplier and acquire a different mouse (and probably preferably one that doesn't need add-on software and drivers), or check directly with the Razer support folks about any known issues or problems or updates for these crashes.
In short: check with Razer directly...

  • Mouse right click crashes any software

Last week I installed Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Bridge on my iMac Intel, and since then, everytime I right-click the mouse, the software crashes - any software. It happened already wth Safari, Preview, Adobe PS, Photo Mechanic, and even Finder! The left button works fine, but the right click crashes all.
I might say that I use a Samsung mouse, but since I have this problem I already tried changing to the Mighty mouse that came with computer when I bought, but it didn't work. Both had the same behavior.
Did anyone have the same problem before? Or have a clue how I can fix it?
    Thanks in advance.

So, I finally did a fresh install of OSX on iMac, and the right click came back.
I think there was something corrupted on the system that somehow showed up after Adobe CS2. I reinstalled CS2 but up to now, no problems at all.
Thanks all for the insights, they all helped a lot!

I restore MacPro and install system but problem continue.

How far are your mice from the mac pro's?  Probably more than 3 or 4 feet  from the back of the mac pro is about the limit.
Are there any wireless devices nearby (e.g., routers).  Sometimes they cause interference.

  • Linux 3.13 - Kernel and Razer Mouse (Hard Freeze)

I upgraded to the new kernel 3.13.4-1 the other day and everytime I'd try to log into Xwindows the system from GDM, it would hard freeze.  So I went about problem solving and couldn't find what was going on.  I then upgraded to the 3.13.5-1 kernel thinking that might fix it.  It did not.  So I went rooting around for a couple hours.  Then I realized that it only occured when I went to touch my mouse.  So I switched to my Wacom tablet to see if I was right. And yep, it worked perfectly with the tablet.  No Freezes.
So for anyone else having problems with the XWindows freezing constantly try switching to another pointer device (unlikely I know).  Or you can do what I did and downgrade the kernel from 3.13 to the last 3.12 version which involves downgrading the headers, nvidia driver, and nvidia-utils if you have them.  I am using the same mouse in 3.12 with no problems.
I couldn't find a bug report anywhere about it and I don't know what actually causes the mouse to freeze the system while the tablet doesn't.
By the way I use the Nvidia Proprietary driver for XWindows so that might be causing it too since it had to be downgraded... not sure...  I can't get any logs from the hard freezez at all.
The 3.13 kernel also randomly decides to lose sync with my main harddrive and then go in a kernel panic on boot sometimes.  Clearly it has a few bugs to work out.  I'm gonna stick with 3.12 for a while.

I just experienced a similar problem after upgrading to 3.13. At first I thought this was an Intel driver bug (I'm using Bumblebee with Intel + NVIDIA drivers), but nothing showed up in the logs, and it did seem to happen when moving the mouse. I'll try downgrading as well.

  • Problem with Razer mouse

This is actually a problem I had with 10.5 that persists in 10.5. I once had a Razer Copperhead working on my 1st gen MBP 17" using Steermouse. At some point I needed to do an OS reinstall, and in retrospect I think my mistake must have been plugging in the mouse before installing Steermouse, but anyway OSX decided I had an unrecognized type of keyboard and I never did get the thing to work and gave up. Now after the upgrade to 10.6 I still have the mouse not working but I now have the need to use it.
Is there a way to get OSX to forget that the mouse is a keyboard and start from scratch? It is actually shown in System Profiler as a "Razer Copperhead Laser Mouse" but without working.

Im having the same problem. My razer copperhead once worked but now it does not. The mouse shows up in the system profiler without working. Hope someone eventually answers this.

  • I've never had so many crashes in one day. Each time I restart, I hardly do anything, just move the mouse, and Firefox crashes. I've sent a report each time.

everything is updated including adobe flash player. Yet since the last update, it keeps crashing for no reason. I just move the mouse or scroll down and it crashes and closes. I am on windows 8. I do not download apps. Explorer seems to work fine. I prefer to use Firefox but can't complete anything I start because it appears to be in crash mode. How do I stop this?

While this is still in research, it seems to be a Windows 8-specific problem between Firefox 19 and a common graphics card/driver. Roll back to Firefox 18.0.2 here:
    http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/18.0.2/win32/en-US/
You can install Firefox 18.0.2 over your Firefox 19 installation. It's not a bad idea, however, to back up your personal settings first. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

  • Scroll Wheel Speed in KDE, witha Razer Mouse???

I just bought a Razer Lachesis, with the firmware on the mouse configured from drivers on my Windows install.
    But-
How on Earth do I get the same scroll wheel speed in Arch that I do in Windows?
Some apps-such as system popups (i.e. plasma widgets download popup) follow what looks like the speed set in the mouse on Windows--most user apps do not...doesn't seem to be a Gtk/Qt thing.  Some apps such as the latest Opera10 qt4 64bit, do not follow the "Number of Lines to scroll" setting in KDE system settings.
I just reinstalled Arch64 with Vanilla KDE4.2.4, although I had the same annoyance on KDEMod4 stable.

No I have not, how does one set the wheel speed in Xorg?  I searched in the Wiki and online and didn't see anything.
I read about setting mouse pointer speed in Xorg in the Wiki, but didn't see anything about scroll speed.

  • I need help with my Razer mouse, SRSLY!

So I want to adjust the mouse speed & the scrollspeed of the mouse. After some googeling I found the razercfg package in AUR that I installed. And It seems as I can't get it to work properly, the razercfg says that it doesen't find any Razer mice. I added the razerd to the daemons in rc.conf as it is a daemon?
Here is my mouse section from xorg.
    Section "InputDevice"
    # generated from default
    Identifier "Mouse0"
    Driver "mouse"
    Option "Device" "/dev/input/mouse0"
    Option "Name" "Razer BoomslangCE"
    Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
    Option "Emulate3Buttons" "on"
    Option "Emulate3TimeOut" "200"
    Option "EmulateWheel" "on"
    Option "EmulateWheelTimeOut" "250"
    Option "EmulateWheelButton" "2"
    Option "YAxisMapping" "4 5"
    Option "XAxisMapping" "6 7"
    Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
    Option "VertScrollDelta" "6"
    Option "Resolution" "1800"
    Option "CorePointer"
    Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
    Option "SampleRate" "500"
    EndSection
So the question is: What is wrong, and how do I make things work properly?

As it seems, there's no new firmware for the Razer Boomslang 2007CE , and I also read on a page that the scrollspeed was hard-coded into gtk. I found a way to increase the scrollspeed in firefox however.
To adjust the scrollspeed in firefox simply enter: about:config in the adressbar and edit:
    mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines boolean false
    mousewheel.withnokey.numlines integer 15
where false enables the numlines option and 15 is the number of lines it scrolls for every click. You can put any integer you want, so it does not have to be 15, it's just that I use 15.
And for the mouse-speed, there is a option for that in xorg.
    Just add:
    Option "Sensitivity" "2"
And 2 is just a random integer, you can set it to any other number that suits you.
That solved like 85% of my problem, the only thing missing is the scrollspeed in all other apps (if it's not hard-coded into gtk that is).

  • Razer. mouse drivers advice...

I would love to get the mouse in the link above
But i have heard that the drivers cause problems....
SO please does anyone have any personal exp?
or and tips etc cause im not convinced.
    thanks

Well, in fact any 3rd party drivers or other software can cause problems, depending on what else is installed on the system.
Bear in mind that these forums are analogous to an emergency room for Mac users - a high proportion of people who post have problems, but the actual proportion out in the real world is much lower. For example, RE "logic driver" if you mean Logitech, consider how many mice/trackballs they have out there running on Macs, compared to the posts on these forums.
But, there's an easy way to avoid trouble - have a solid backup strategy (e.g. weekly SuperDuper syncs to an external drive), and run a backup before installing anything new.

  • Mac Mini crashes when connected to USB mouse!

This problem just happened all of the sudden--I came into my office a few days ago and there was the multi-lingual screen of death telling me I needed to restart my computer. Tried numerous times, no success--same message.
Took Mac Mini to Genius Bar--they said it checked out just fine.
Brought it home, plugged everything in--same problem!
Started eliminating USB and Firewire items that I was connecting to it. Narrowed it down to my Verbatim USB wireless mouse. When I disconnected it, the computer booted fine. However, can't navigate anywhere w/o a mouse, so I figured my solution was to just go buy a wired USB mouse.
Bought wired USB mouse. Same crashes! My computer will not boot with any USB mouse connected and when I connect a mouse after it is booted, it crashes the moment the mouse is connected.
Even if there is something I could install or uninstall, I can't do it because I have no navigation w/o a mouse!
Error messages on screen of death have to do with "kernels" and what not--again, if it was something I could replace/reinstall that would be great, but how can I do anything w/o a mouse?
    Please help!!!
    Thanks,
    Phil

I have three 2008 model Mac minis, each with verbatim mice. Luckily one hasn't been upgraded to 10.6.8 because I'd be without a working desktop machine.
The 2010 Mac mini doesn't have this problem.
So far I've tried four different USB mice and all of them lock up the machine, even in safe mode.
I can't afford to go and buy three apple Bluetooth mice - it's the only way I can use these machines.
I hate downgrading machines, so I'm hoping apple supplies a patch soon.

  • Razer Lachesis not always working on MSI 790FX-GD70 - needs to be replugged

When I boot my new system, my Razer Lachesis (gaming mouse) doesn't always work directly, it doesn't more or click. I need to unplug and then plug it back in to get it to work.
First I thought it had to have something to do with the driver, so I installed the Vista x64 drivers for my Windows 7 x64 OS, but no luck.
I've had this onces before on my old MSI K8N-Neo2 Platinum board with a Razer Copperhead. A biosupdate fixed the issue back then. Are there any known issues with my mainboard in this matter?
Would be nice if someone knows how to fix it. I'll also report this @ Razer.
Thanks for the help guys :D

  • Bluetooth Mouse not working in Windows 7?

Just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on an iMac i5 with 20Gb
Everything installed correctly and W7 boots fine, even did the drivers for bootcamp before the full Windows install
Thing is I have the Apple slim Bluetooth Keyboard and Magic Mouse (that come with the iMac) it seems that the Mouse just will not respond??
The keyboard is working?? on Bluetooth but not the mouse and as i dont have a corded one to hand i am trying to navigate the whole Windows with my keyboard!!
please help how do i get Windows to see my Apple Mouse under bootcamp??

my exp is that my magic trackpad unlike in osx require ment to click it before it turn on and begin to respond to touch
but my bluetooth razer mouse don't work with blutooth so I connect it by usb which it also support could be that windows don't care for 2 bluetooth "mouse" input devices at the same time

I'm running x86-64 and was working since a while now without problems with gnome 3 (and actually liked it).
Does anyone have a similar behavior or any clues what to do?

Update: Seems like some recent update solved the issue. Everything works fine again

  • Photoshop CS4 crashes after starting up

    Hi all,
Before I buy Photoshop CS4 Extended, I wanted to install the trial first.
The install was succesfully finished, so i started PS.
When i choose for making a new file, i see the screen where you can select the size of the picture.
When i click OK, Windows says: Photoshop CS4 has stopped working.
Now I only can close the program or debug. Debugging doesn't help.
Running in XP mode of disable visual themes doesn't help also..
I'm running dual boot (Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 Ultimate), and on windows 7 it all works great.
Does anyone have a solution for this weird problem?
    My computer specs are:
Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 32-bit (fully updated)
    Asus P5Q3 Motherboard with 4GB DDR3 RAM
Asus ATI HD 4870 1G Dark Knight graphics card (with the latest driver update - may 15 2009)
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2,8 Ghz)
Other adobe programs just runs fine, but PS keeps crashing..
Im sorry for my bad English..
I hope someone can help me with this, i really like to purchase PS and work with it..
    Regards,
    Tim
    edit:
by the way, photoshop cs2 and cs3 worked fine..

    Hi,
Thanks for the fast relpies. I like to hear my English is OK. I've got to make my English school exams next week!
I checked the permissions of the Photoshop folders in my user directory (if you mean the 'read only' and 'hide' things..?)
All directories were 'read only', but when I uncheck this, it comes back after I click on the properties of the directory again.
Anyway, my account has administrator rights and my UAC is off. (the 'do you really want to' blahblah.. and the virtual directories)
So I don't think the problem is based on permissions.. It also isn't my virusscanner, because when I turn it off (I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2009) the problem still isn't solved.
Maybe useful: I didn't add any plug-ins for PS. I only installed it.
Yes, it will also crash if i input a arbitrary resolution.
Even if i want to load a picture.. jpg or psd, it keeps crashing.
When I select a picture and click OK, it will load.. but before i can even move my mouse.. it crashes.
So, when I see the 'crash screen' of Windows Vista, i can see the picture at the back.
I also checked the event viewer, and there i can see the application error i also got in PS.
I can't find anything about the licensing service. What is the name of this service? Then I can check if it's on in the task manager.
I updated PS as well. But still, no results. I attached the error message and translated someting in English. (my Windows is Dutch).
I really hope you can help me with this!
    Regards,
    Tim
Edit: I think I forgot the most important!! When I start PS, there comes a warning, before the 30 day trial screen.
It says I've got to download the newest drivers for my graphics card.. but I allready did that. It also says it will turn off the GPU settings in PS.
When I turn this back on, PS gives an error after the loading screen. So then i can't see the interface then. When I restart it, PS automaticly turned off the GPU settings, and it is back to the old problem. I also attached another picture in this post, and tried to translate it. But when you see this screen, maybe you will recognize it.
