Manage agent and  Crs resource with OEM

Hello,
through OEM and agent I can monitor the situation of a lot of crs resource:
Scan, Database, Instance, Listener.
I don't understand how it's possibile to monitor and control application like
the agent itself and crs resource that I have create for control filesystem or application.
There is a way to do this?
Thanks in advance
D.
Configuration
Rac 11g r2 solaris sparc
oem 10g solaris sparc.

You question:
I don't understand how it's possibile to monitor and control application like
the agent itself and crs resource that I have create for control filesystem or application.
There is a way to do this?
The agent yes, see my previous remark

  • Management Agent service not created with 10gR2 RAC DB install on Win2003?

    Our 10gR2 RAC installation on Win2003 platform didn't create management agent service. After installing and setting up current release of OEM with Grid Control (10.1) and installing Management Agent from 10.1 OEM distribution (install additional management agents option), agent service is up and running. However, there is one small problem:
    All target configuration xml files are created under 10.2 Oracle home, and agent running from 10.1 home does not see them - which means database, listener, etc are not registered in OEM.
    Is this a known problem, and is there solution for it?

  • Coded Management Agents and Interfaces

    All,
    Does the documentation outline what interfaces of the MetaDirectory services class work with which management agents?
    Here's the reason for my question.  I'm trying to use a SQL Management agent, but would like to use the IMAExtensible2GetParameters code objects for some custom DB based logging and auditing.  I incorporated the methods associated with that interface
    into my extension dll, but the management agent isn't picking them up.
    I'd use the Extensible Connectivity 2.0 agent, but I like the delta and multi-valued attribute functions the SQL agent gives me.
    If I'm missing something, and the SQL MA does support the methods of the GetParameter interface, let me know that, too.  I'll dig into that some more.  I know for sure the IMASynchronization interface is supported.  Not sure about the rest.
    Thanks,
    Greg Wilkerson

    Martin,
    Thank you for your answer. What I meant by light was low bandwidth indeed. I was guessing the traffic between Agents and Server depends on how many targets you have, but I was just wondering if someone knew if the ORACLE 300Kbps recommendation was like the guaranteed network bandwidth with which you would be sure to handle the traffic no matter how many targets monitored.
    I think I'll have to figure out how many targets will be monitored by each agents then, to have a rough idea of how much traffic it's going to generate.
    Since I work in a quite big outsourcing company, network link is actually used for remote administration. That's why I'm concerned.
    Thank you again,
    Olivier

  • Toll fraud traffic pumping on a Call manager express and unity express with an 800 toll free number.

    I have a customer with a call manager express and a unity express. They have an 800 toll free number that rings in to an auto attendant on the CUE. The problem is something called toll fraud traffic pumping. The caller, always from a different number, reaches the auto attendant by dialing the 800 number. They then somehow manage to keep the line connected for up to 12 hours by somehow staying in the auto attendant. I opened a TAC case and was informed that it is not in Cisco's hands to create a way to disconnect a call that is connected to the CUE. I need a way to have a call that stays in the auto attendant or voicemail after 3 to 5 minutes. I can't see a way to do it in the auto attendant script. Can someone help with a method that will disconnect the caller if they stay in the CUE for a period of time?

    Thank you for the response Jaime.
    That is what TAC told me. I am not familiar with TCL scripting and I have been looking at some guides on it. Any advice on a source to go to for assistance with that, possibly someone to help?

  • Managing Events and/or Projects With Disk Images

    I came across this method of managing Events and Projects a while ago. I finally got around to giving it a try. Personally, I really like this method.
    It's simple.
    It keeps things very well organized.
    It's easy to open only the project or events that you want.
    It's easy to consolidate and back up once you're done.
    It  takes some workload off FCP X by not having to always open up all your Events and Projects.
    So, I thought I would share this for those of you who were not already aware of it.
    This is my workflow: (based on the link below)
    I create a Disk Image (named for the Event/Project).
    (Note: There are two places to create the name, I use both, keep them the same)
    I open up FCP X.
    I typically put only one Event on this Disk Image.
    I then reference whatever Media I need in this Event.
    I usually don't bother to copy the media. (except when I'm done and I archive it)
    You can create multiple Events, if you feel the need for additional organization.
    Then I create however many Projects I need.
    (since Projects equates to Sequences from prior FCP versions)
    I have a unique Disk Image for each Event/Project that I work on.
    To use them ...
    First, always make sure FCP X is not running.
    Locate the Disk Image in finder.
    Double click on the Disk Image and it will Mount on your desktop.
    (assuming it's not already mounted on your desktop)
    Open up FCP X and it will load the Event(s)/Project(s) in the Disk Image.
    If you don't want to work on an Event/Project in FCP X (make sure FCP X is not open), in Finder, simply Eject the Disk Image.
    Now when you open FCP X, it won't be there.
    Its not gone, but since it's not mounted on the desktop, FCP X simply doesn't see it.
    To get it back (obviously quit FCP X first) simply double click the Disk Image in Finder and it remounts.
    Open FCP X and you can see it's back.
    You can open (double click to mount) as many Event/Project Disk Images as you want.
    Just make sure you mount and un-mount disk images when FCP X is not running.
    If find this to be a great workflow.
    Many thanks to Steve Martin of Riple Training for posting this method.

    Re the final commercial spot.  What I am getting at is if all my media is optimized and therefore in ProRes, and I export in ProRes using the current settings, then shouldn't the media needed to rebuild the project be the same or close to what an exported Quicktime would have been?
    Perhaps the notion of "used clips only" is not what it says then.  I took that to be the "media managed" feature otherwise why is that wording there.  I guess "used" actually refers to all of the media for the project and associated events rather than just for the project.  This is misleading because the DUPLICATE operation and menu prompt only appears as a result of requesting an action on the project item.
    There are aliases in my original event folder, but before I started this process tried to get FCPX to consolidate media for the project and it already was according the app.  Truth is, some of the media is outside of the FCPX required folders.  So it's strange that it says it's consolditated, but it's not and yet in duplicating the project it moves the references to the new volume only to point back to the old volume.
    So my next question would be: Is there no feature to back up only what's needed to rebuild the final project (edit) reliably.  Moving the project moves everything.  According to the FCP manual, it seems using the Duplicate feature is the way I should be archiving.  However if by "used clips only" FCP X means all media and refrerenced events, then I guess there's nothing for me in here.  However then, whey would there be an option (after choosing duplicate project) an option to Duplicate Project and  referenced events.  If "used clips only" means all media, then there's no difference between the 2nd and 3rd Duplicate Project options.
    Thanks Tom.

  • SNMP v2 compatible agent and system resources

    Hi everybody,
    I have to provide an SNMP v2 compatible agent (which provides answers to SNMP v2c requests) providing some system resources like cpu consumption, hard disk consumption and disk free space and some specific values through a private MIB.
    I have tried to implement a SNMP subagent using the Solaris Enterprise Agents SDK (taking the demo as reference), but contrary with was I thoght, it can not answer when the manager is asking using protocol version 2 (I am some confused, becouse I read that there is no many changes between version 1 and 2c and requests should be compatible).
    Additionally, I could not find the MIB where the Solaris sub-agent is providing the requested values (cpu consumption, hard disk consumption and disk free space).
    Is there any way to solve this problem? Using maybe the Solaris Enterprise Manager or the Solaris Manager Center? Are they provided with the Solaris version 9 OS?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Best regards,
    Carlos

    I bought a tvee 30 last month and had the same problem.  I opened a ticket with BA and below is the fun thread on this subject.      If you scroll to the bottom, you get to read the fun part about sending the unit back in the future for a firmware upgrade....
    Customer via Web: 01/02/2012 04:10 PM I have a tvee 30 and I am not able to get it working with any Apple device in my house. I read about the problem with IOS5 and I am anxiously waiting for either BA or Apple to step up and fix this. Seems like a bunch of finger pointing going on right now. Anyway, I have the same problem with an Imac running 10.6.8 Would you expect the same IOS5 problem to affect the Imac?
    Response BA Customer Service & Suport via Email 01/05/2012 06:56 AM We are currently working on a firmware upgrade that will address Apple products being that the AD2P system that came with the iOS5 upgrade is the issue not letting the two units connect.
    Customer via Web 01/05/2012 07:56 AM Could you estimate when this firmware upgrade will be available? I am trying to decide if I should return the unit because Apple bluetooth connectivity was one of the primary reasons why I bought it. Tnanks
    Response BA Customer Service & Suport via Email 01/05/2012 08:27 AM I believe the firmware upgrade will be available within a month or so, and it will correct the issue you are having.
    Customer via Web 01/05/2012 09:06 AM how does one get informed about a firmware upgrade availability and how does one implement this on the tvee 30? I don't recall see any sort of USB or other port on the unit where one could install it. thanks
    Response BA Customer Service & Suport via Email 01/05/2012 09:49 AM The announcement will be posted on the FAQ's link of the site. The unit will need to be sent in to be upgraded.

  • InDesign CS6 and relinking resources with ILinkFacade

    I've been trying to relink InDesign document links but rather unsuccessfully. I did read that ILinkFacade should be the way to go but the documentation is somewhat poor. I did find some SDK examples but they didn't have too much code about ILinkFacade. I ended up reading comments from ILinkFacade source code.
    I came up with the following piece of code that happens in Respond function inherited from CResponder:
    Utils< Facade::ILinkFacade > LinkFacade;
    InterfacePtr< IDocumentSignalData > DocumentSignalData( signalMgr, UseDefaultIID() );
    IDatabase* pDocumentDatabase = GetDataBase( DocumentSignalData );
    UIDList LinksUIDList( pDocumentDatabase ); // Does this actually get the links from a document?
    UIDRef linkref = LinksUIDList.GetRef( 0 ); // If the above does get the list of links, does this get the UIDRef to the first link in the list?
    URI ImageURI = "D:/test.jpg";
    ErrorCode status = LinkFacade->RelinkResource( linkref, ImageURI, kSuppressUI );
    Compiles nicely but every time I run it I just manage to crash InDesign.
    Anyone have any good tips to this? I'm quite unsure especially about using the UIDList.

    I made some minor modifications to my code and used QueryLinks to get all the links in a QueryResult.
    // signalMgr is received in Respond(...) inherited from CResponder.
    InterfacePtr< IDocumentSignalData > pDocumentSignalData( signalMgr, UseDefaultIID() );
    InterfacePtr< ILinkManager > pLinkManager( pDocumentSignalData->GetDocument(), UseDefaultIID() );
    ILinkManager::QueryResults results;
    LinkQuery query;
    pLinkManager->QueryLinks( query, kIDLinkClientID, results );
    Utils< Facade::ILinkFacade > LinkFacade;
    // All the links should now be in results and we can go through all of them.
    for( unsigned int i = 0; i < results.size(); i++ )
        UIDRef LinkUIDRef( GetDataBase( pDocumentSignalData ), results.at( i ) );
        // Check if the link is relinkable.
        if( LinkFacade->CanRelinkResource( LinkUIDRef ) )
    The UIDs can be used (I tried deleting links via pLinkManager->DeleteLink) so they seem to be fetched correctly now. But right now LinkFacade->CanRelinkResource always tells me that none of my links are relinkable. I tried to test my UIDRefs with if( LinkUIDRef ) but it seemed to always evaluate to false. This probably has something to do with why CanRelinkResource always evaluates to false because it used UIDRef instead of UID. So I am probably doing something wrong with UIDRefs here but I can't understand what. Anyone got any good advice?

  • NAC Agent and NSP provisioning with ISE 1.1.1

    I am trying to get all workstations (OSX and Windows) to install both the Native Supplicant Wizard and NAC Agent during the On-boarding process.
    I am currently using the default guest portal in ISE.
    The environment has been setup using a Dual SSID design.
    At the moment, devices can connect to the provisioning SSID and get CWA. Device registration works, the portal runs the NSP setup which correctly sets up the network adapter.
    The problem is the portal never attempts to install the NAC Agent.
    The client provisioning policy has a separate policies for wireless/wired as well as OS. Each policy applies both a NSP and NAC Agent configuration. It appears the guest portal only checks the NSP configuration and not the NAC Agent config.
    Any ideas?

    Just so i understand this correctly you are using both a client provisioning portal and a native supplicant provisoning portal tied into seperate authz policies.
    With that out of the way are you checking to see if the client is compliant in the client provisioning portal policy.
    Let me know if you have the following configured (example windows OS), this is assuming that the endpoint is statically assigned to RegisteredDevices after native suppliant provisioning.
    Rule 0 (endpoint group = RegisteredDevice) AND (AD:Domain user and authentication method:x509 and posturestatus:COMPLIANT) = Permit Access
    Rule 1 (endpoint group = RegisteredDevice) AND (AD:domain user AND authentication method:x509[if you deployed certs in the native supp condition] AND workstation NOT EQUAL:COMPLIANT) RESULT client provisioning portal.
    Rule 2 (endpoint group = Workstation) AND (AD:Domain User AND authentication mehod using mschapv2) RESULT windows provisioning portal
    Hope that helps,

  • How to use management chain and escalation hierarchies with LDAP

    Hi,
    I have experienced now with the management chain pattern and escalation feature. I have used the standard file-based security provider (JAZN and user-properties.xml). You can easily define a user hierarchy using the user-properties.xml file to define the escalation path and the management chain in terms of hierarchy levels.
    In a production environment in most cases you will use LDAP as the security provider. I wonder if it is possible to define such an user hierarchy in LDAP. I now you can create a role-based hierarchy, but in cases this will be to much and you need user based hierarchy.
    Another issue is that you can also define a highest level op approval. Hower you onlyonly define manager/director/ceo, used in the user-properties.xml file. How can you tell jdeveloper to use other custom roles?
    Does anyone has experience of suggentions om this issue?
    Kind regards,
    -Tom

    Tom,
    I can address parts of your question, please see below:
    How can you tell jdeveloper to use other custom roles?JDeveloper picks up users from the Integration Server connection. So, if the server is configured with the LDAP configured server, you will see users and groups from that registry. JDeveloper (the human task editor dialog) does not go directly against the LDAP.
    I wonder if it is possible to define such an user hierarchy in LDAPYes. That is the way it has been designed.
    I now you can create a role-based hierarchy, but in cases this will
    be to much and you need user based hierarchy.Making a user specific hierarchy has problems - what if a user leaves the company? The role based hierarchies solve this problem very well. May be I misunderstand your question.
    I will have a colleague, who works on identity management, look at your question.

    Sidda.

  • Management agents for 10g OEM Grid setup with HP's MC/Serviceguard

    I am trying to set up the OEM Management agents in a MCserviceguard environment.
    Each db is a serviceguard "package" with its own disks and a floating IP. The floating
    IP is constant, but is dynamicly associated with whichever server currently hosts the package.
    The goal is to have a Management agent (formerly Intelligent agent) per db.
    There are notes and tech forums on how this is achieved in version 9.2 with
    Intelligent Agent. However, not having any luck in finding this for 10g.

    Here is a nice document that should answer your question
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/pdf/MAA_WP_10gEMAgentActivePassive.pdf
    I did not bother installing three agents. I just installed one at the package level. My hosts are monitored by HP Openview. OEM just monitors the databases.
    I have not used the command line parameter in runInstaller to set the hostname. Here is how I did it - may not be supported though. I have learnt the hard way that with HPUX you are on your own for most part with OEM. I modify Disk1/install/oraparam.ini. Change SHOW_HOSTNAME=NEVER_SHOW to SHOW_HOSTNAME=ALWAYS_SHOW. Installer will prompt you for hostname and the network card to use. Choose the one to which the service guard ip is attached to and change the hostname.
    Take a look at my previous post regarding installing management service – I have the tweaking described in more detail. The tweak is same for both management agent and management service install.

  • When should ZEN Management agent be installed

    I use a standard image that is pushed out with ZEN imaging. This contains
    the ZEN Management agent as part of the build. Therefore, there are a few
    areas in the registry (under
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Workstation Manager) that are specific
    to the machine that the image was built on. Primarily of concern are the
    following two strings:
    STRFileName="00B0D069CF85_1105073267000"
    SystemGUID="00B0D069CF85172.22.175.1371105073290"
    Any PC that gets this image will therefore get these same registry
    strings, and this causes errors on the inventory side of things. I have
    tried a combination of deleting these keys and / or their values with no
    luck, as "STRFileName" and "SystemGUID" do not recreate or repopulate with
    data from the new PC. Therefore in order to get the PC working with
    inventory, I need to remove the management agent, and then reinstall and
    then all works fine (as these keys are repopulated with data specific to
    the local PC, and not the PC the image was created on).
    Question: Does this mean that in future my images should not include the
    management agent (i.e. it is a post install step), or is there a way
    around this problem?
    Thanks

    I found that when the management agent is installed, the following
    relevent entries are placed in the registry:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Workstation Manager]
    "Registration Agent"="zenwsreg.dll"
    "Enabled"=dword:00000001
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Workstation Manager\InvScanner]
    @=""
    "ScannerPath"="C:\\Program
    Files\\Novell\\ZENworks\\Inventory\\NTScan32.exe"
    Rebooting creates additional registry entries in this area, even when
    logging in as 'workstation only', and these new entries contain specific
    information about the PC. Ensuring that any image I use contains only the
    above registry settings (and not any additional ones) means that the
    workstation specific entries are generated correctly (when the newly
    imaged PC is first booted up) and all works fine. To do this I used a bit
    of vbscript as part of the image build, and this is the last thing done
    prior to shutting down the PC and creating the ZEN Image.
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Workstation
    Manager\PredesktopHelperDLLs]
    "WMPM.DLL"="WMPM.DLL"
    "WMPOLHLP.DLL"="WMPOLHLP.DLL"
    "WMPRTNT.DLL"="WMPRTNT.DLL"
    "WMUSPOL.DLL"="WMUSPOL.DLL"
    "WMGRPPOL.DLL"="WMGRPPOL.DLL"
