Manage contacts & groups

Hello!
I have a 9330i and I don't know how can manage group person from my PC.
Is very hard to add a one or more contacts in to a group from the phone. The software from Nokia PC Suite Version 6.83.14.1 can't do.
THX

Yes, I would like to know it as well.
Nokia PC Suite is very simple in this functionality.
I hope it could change.

  • Managing contact groups in E71 and N97 mini

It seems that the E71 does not support groups like older models used to: apparently groups are listed alongside contacts, and it is no longer possible to see and search groups directly. I'd like to see my groups straight away (e.g. clients, business partners, friends, etc), open and search them, rather than finding them among the contacts. Actually, this setup misses the whole point of classifying contacts into groups!  What on Earth was Nokia thinking?
Is there any way around this? A firmware update or a third-party app?
Also, how are contact groups managed in the N97 mini? Is it the same, or does that mobile finally allow you to see and search groups directly?

I am not sure on the e71 how to view groups separately, but on the mini, there are two tabs on top (or three if you ovi contacts), one for contacts, one for ovi contacts, on for groups. Just tap on the tabs.
Brilliant, thanks a lot! So Nokia finally fixed this!
Unfortunately user manuals are always more useless, and it seems the only way to understand these details is to ask other users...
Have you checked if groups can be synchronized between the phone and Ovi? With older versions of Ovi it wasn't possible.
Can you manage, sync and backup groups from the PC using Nokia PC Suite?
What's the difference between contacts and Ovi contacts? I thought the whole point of Ovi was to sync data between the website and the mobile. Can you instead keep two different directories of contacts and access them separately?
I wonder if 'groups' is just another field in the contact database, which gets saved when you export contacts to a csv file with Nokia PC Suite, or if groups are stored in some other ways.

  • Can't modify/delete Outlook 2010 Contact Group

I've got a user who created a new Contact Group in Outlook 2010 and now can't modify or delete the group.  Other groups she's created before or since do not exhibit this behavior.  Also, when you bring up the properties of the group, the window
looks different than the other groups and the icon in the top left of the window just has the card with no people in front of it.
    Thanks

    Hi,
A Contact Group, known in previous Outlook versions as a distribution list, is a grouping of e-mail addresses collected under one name. A message sent to a Contact Group goes to all recipients listed in the
group. You can include Contact Groups in messages, task requests, meeting requests, and in other Contact Groups.

  • How do I create a contact group on iOS 8

How do I create a contact group on iOS 8, I'm trying to make a new new group for my iphone 6. I've made a group on my older IOS but it's changed on the new IOS 8.

You cannot create a contact group in the built in Contacts app. If your contacts sync with iCloud you can log in to https://icloud.com and manage contact groups there. Or with a contact app on your computer that syncs with iCloud. Alternatively, there are several iPhone apps that are more powerful than the built in Contacts app. You can use one of them to manage groups and contacts within groups. I use Speed Names, but there are several others.

  • Contacts: Specify which email address to use in Contact Group?

I have a few mailing lists that I keep in Contacts. However, I have multiple email addresses for some of these contacts. When I send an email to the list, the wrong email address will be used for some of the contacts.  Is it possible to specify a default email address for a contact? Or a way to specify which email address of a contact should be used for each Contact group?
    Thanks!

    Yes.
So select the group in Contacts. Then choose Edit->Edit Distribution List... and you can pick which of the emails you want to use for the group in question.
It took me a while to find it, but I've done it before so I managed to turn it up

  • No longer able to drag a contacts group into mail address line

  • How to sync Outlook 2010 Contact Groups to my iPad and iPhone

I am trying to figure out how to sync my Outlook 2010 contact groups to my iPad and iPhone.  Also how do you manage the groups once on the device?  Seems they can only be selected and not edited.  I can get my Good contact group and my Windows Contacts contact group to sync but not my Outlook 2010 groups.  Any ideas?

Mac solution.  No idea if works on PC:
    Work Around:
    On your mac:
    1.  Open a new email
    2.  Insert name of an existing group into one of the "To" fields as usual.
    3.  Highlight all the resulting names in the "To" entry
[Highlight first name, and while holding shift, highlight last name and all will highlight[]
    4. Copy (Command C) the highlighted emails
    5. Paste (Command V) nto a pages document
    6. Remove the name and anything else preceeding the first < and also the first < of only the first entry whixh will look like this:
         [email protected]>,
    7. Remove the > of the last email which will look like this:
         , Jane Doe <[email protected]
    8. Copy the entire altered list from the pages document
9, Go to Contact Book and click + to add a new entry
10.. Name the entry (XXX Group for iPad) or whatever you wish to call it
    11.  Paste all the copied altered list into any one of the email entry spaces
    12.  Click on "Done"
    13.  Create new email On iPad and click on + in any one of the "To" lines and search for "XXX Group for iPad"  You cannot just key in XXX Group for iPad!!!!!!!, you must use + contact search.
    14.  Enter the selected iPad contact group into the "To" line.
    15.  All the entries will now appear in the "To" line and you are good to go.
Adding or deleting email addresses from the iPad group:
Easiest:  Alter the original mac group in the usual way and repeat steps 1-14 above.  It seems impossible to edit within the emai line of the iPad contact entry.
    Rediculously simple once figured out.
Happy emailling, but please send Bcc so that you don't spread your groups' email addresses all over the internet for spam, viruses, and other unwanted emails.  Be considerate and ask your recipients to notifiy you if they wish to be deleted from the lists you compose.

  • Hei , i was window user an just switched to ipone 6 , can i merge my contacts group from windows to IOS ? please quide

hei , i was window user an just switched to ipone 6 , can i merge my contacts group from windows to IOS ? please quide

Right, I finally managed to get it sorted out.
iCloud only accept version 3.0 vcards, and the one I was using were version 2.1 so that's why it wasn't picking it up. So the easy way to get that sorted out is, use a gmail account.
I know you don't wanna do it because you think it's too much hassle and stuff, but trust me it only takes 5 minutes and that's it.
    1. Create a Gmail Account.
    2. Export your Old VCard files to the Gmail Account.
    3. Now Import them from Gmail to your PC again.
And, that's it, that's just makes the new imported version in 1 file contains your all contacts in version 3.0. Now you can just upload that on icloud and then sync it with your iphone.
That's what I did and it worked, and I am sure if you wanna replace this file in the Contacts folder under your User Account in Windows and then try to sync Contacts in Tunes, it should work, but as I said, I did it with iCloud and it worked for me. So aye, that's pretty much it. Phewwww..
Been searching for it for the whole day and it took 5 minutes in the end, badass...
Anyway, don't lose hope and always Google for everything!

  • Deleting Empty Contact Group? iCloud contact syncing issues.

I have two contact groups on my iPhone with no contacts in them.  How do I delete them from my iPhone?  They are annoying. I have read multiple threads on this topic and still can't figure it out.
Also, after backing up to iCloud - not one of my 84 contacts actually backed up?  Is there some setting I am missing? Only one contact showed up and it was my own name and email address?
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

Best way is to use a 3rd party app managing groups. Easy Group is a free one I have developped.
Launch it, all your groups will automatically appear
    Tap on "Edit"
Tap on red cross next to the groups you want to delete

  • Problem adding members to a contact group in a public folder with EWS

I am trying to create contacts and contact groups in a public folder on Exchange 2013 using EWS 2.1 managed API.
In Outlook 2013, I can see the contacts and groups created. However, when I open the group and try to open a contact from the group, I get the following error:
Could not find contact "john doe ([email protected]". It may have been deleted or moved from its original location.
Would you like to remove it from the list?
I tried different methods to add the contact members to the groups, all with the same result.
If I manually add the contact to the group, or if I create the contacts and groups in a private folder, it works fine.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Are the contacts you added to the group in your contacts? If the shared contacts folder is not in your profile and enabled as an address book, you can't add their contacts to a group. (The mailbox needs to be opened as a mailbox for the contacts folder
to be enabled as an address book. )

  • Find the Manager for Group

If this isn't a good place to ask this question I applogize in adavance if you could provide a link to the correct area I should ask/post this I would appreciate it. Otherwise...
The end goal is to fill in the Managedby atribute for a lot of secuirty groups with a correct manager. I have a list of a 2100 groups and I have a data share that has like 10 petabytes of data in 3000 different directories, roughly. The point is there is
a lot. At this point I'm just trying to identify who should be the manager for group.
I'm trying to figure out the best way to approach this any and all advice/suggestions is apprecited. Even it is go pound sand, newby...hopefully not but I'll understand if it is :-)
    Found
    this searching
    Thanks in Adavance

Fair enough...Sorry for wasteing your time, but thank you for your help
    Thanks in Adavance
You are not wasting anyone's time it is just that there is no way to answer your question.  These decisions are based on your organization.  Scripts cannot decide who manages who.  You need to get with your management and implement an org
chart.  The org chart gets directly tied to groups.  It starts with the org chart.  Each position gets a group and the manager or exec is the owner of the group.
In most companies this may be delegated since so many managers and execs are computer illiterate.  The delegate becomes the group manager and manages resource allocation through group membership.
This is Active Directory deployment 101.  I recommend contacting a certified consultant to help you set this up.  It is fundamental and critical.  I cannot understand how you can have a large AD deployment without having a formal design document.
It probably exists but those that know it have been let go to save money.  Now you are lost in limbo.
Do more research.  Ask a lot of questions.  Be a detective and see if you can find the original documents.  If you succeed you will be a hero.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Cannot get iTunes to show contact groups to sync.

I have read several different posts about creating contact groups to tranfer between iTunes8 and my iPhone 3G v2.1.
I have tried all of them and no matter what I do, whether it was Outlook 2007 or the Windows Contacts, I never get the option to select groups.
When I open iTunes, I go to the Info tab. Sync Contacts with Outlook is selected, and the radio button for All Contacts is selected, but the other radio button for Selected groups: is grayed out as well as the box below and I cannot select it.
I assume that this is telling me that iTunes does not see any groups in Outlook 2007 to sync, but I have created several test groups in different manners and this is always the case.
Anyone have ideas? I have several hundred contacts and would love to have about 5 or 6 groups so that I can find them easier, even though the finger slide is pretty easy, I just want better organization and I would imagine that with a phone that is so full featured, that there must be a way to do it.
    Thank you,
    Jeromie

How did you create your groups? I'd like to do the same, and came across some stuff in Outlook 2007's help file last night that makes me wonder if this is something that needs to be done with Business Contact Manager for Outlook? I have heard that the built-in iPhone contacts app recognizes/works with groups.

  • Contact Groups are showing as "null"

On my iPhone5 and iPad some of my Contact Groups are showing as "null".  This is new.  It didn't start until yesterday.  iCloud.com does not reflect this.  Everythings seems to be okay there.  What can I do to change this?

I have this same issue.  Whenever I create a group via the iCloud web interface, it shows up named "null" on my iPhone and iPad.
I found a workaround, but it only applies to people who:
    - Are using a Windows PC
    - Have MS Outlook installed
    - Have iCloud control panel installed
    - Have iCloud control panel configured to sync contacts with Outlook
In Outlook, open Contacts, then from the ribbon choose "iCloud, Create New Group".
At least for me, this works...  Once created in Outlook, the group quickly syncs and shows up with the correct name on the iCloud web interface, iphone, and ipad.  After that, I can manage membership of the group either through the iCloud web interface or Outlook, and everything works as it should.

  • How to export ALL my contact groups ( 20) from Outlook 2010 on one machine to Outlook 2010 on two other machines

My problem is how to export ALL my contact groups (>20) from Outlook 2010 on one machine (finally established with great pains from a more user-friendly client) to Outlook 2010 on two other computers.  All the help files I've seen refer to
export/import of only a single Group.
Outlook seems to be an extraordinarily limited and user-hostile environment for managing an address book.  By way of comparison, the Mulberry client I've been using for years (which is no longer supported) run circles around Outlook for ease of
handling -- everything in the address book, groups and individual, can be exported and imported in a single file.  My computer support staff have warned me about the difficulties of handling groups in Outlook.  Is Microsoft really that incompetent,
    or just sadistic ?
Thanks for your help with this.

After a lot of screwing around I finally hit on a solution, which is to export and import contacts using a .pst file (which transfers both individuals and groups) rather than a .csv file -- which transfers only individual contacts but leaves groups untouched.
Why isn't there a clear and simple message from Microsoft saying this in all the so-called Help files on moving contacts in Outlook?

  • Can I send email to an iCloud contact group via Outlook 2010

When I installed iCloud on my PC so I could share my Outlook 2010 contact info with my iPad, I lost all my distribution lists (contact groups). I created a new Group in iCloud and copied several contacts to it. I also assigned those specific contacts to one category, thinking perhaps I could select easily based on category.
Now I want to select that entire group (or category in the "to" of an email. If I click on the "To' button, I am taken to my general iCloud all contacts folder. Category is not a criteria by which I can select. If I try to type in the name of the Group, it is not recognized.
If I have lost the ability to send group emails, I am going to be one unhappy camper!

You would need to create a new Security-enabled DL in the Exchange Management Console. Rackspace will help you accomplish this.
