  • I want o manage my photos from iPhoto

Im going to be managing all my photos from Iphoto; so when uploading pictures from my camera I will import them all to Iphoto and then delete the ones I don't want. Will the imported photos that I delete be stored anywhere on my Mac or will they be deleted too when i delete them from my Iphoto library. I don't want to be left with GB's of photos sotred in a folder that im unaware are there.
    Any help is appreciated.

WHen you manage the files with iPhoto, then deleting images from iPhoto sends the file to the iPhoto trash. You then empty the iPhoto trash and the material goes to the system trash. Once you empty the system trash they're gone.

  • Why can't I export iPhone photos from iPhoto?

iPhoto recently started crashing whenever I try to export photos that have been imported from my iPhone.
No problems exporting photos from other cameras, just the iPhone.
In fact, If I mix photos from several cameras in one Event and try to export them all, the export goes smoothly until it hits the iPhone photo at which point iPhoto crashes.
Any clue why and/or how to fix this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    FYI.  I'm using iPhoto '09 8.1.2 and OSX 10.9.3.

the export goes smoothly until it hits the iPhone photo at which point iPhoto crashes.
Is it just one particuar photo?  Have your photos been edited on the iPhone with iOS 7 effects? HDR photos, panoramic photos?
and then I export the edited photos to the hard drive on my iMac so I can burn them to a CD.
Does iPhoto only crash, when you export the photos with "File > Export > Edited" or also, when you export them with "File > Export > Original"?
If you can export the originals, check, if the photos areo.k. and you can open them in Preview.
      I'm using iPhoto '09 8.1.2 and OSX 10.9.3.
That is a risky combination. iPhoto 8.1.2 is not fully supported on Mavericks, and probably your current problem is due to the fact, that iPhoto 8.1.2 does not work well withMavericks.  Is there a reason, that you do not want to update to iPhoto 9.5.1 for full compatibility?

  • Managing iPhone photos from a PC

My photos on my iPhone is a mess. I've deleted photos from my Camera Roll, as well as some photos from My Photo Stream. Only to realize that the deleted photos did not sync between albums. Meaning the photos were only deleted within that particular album. Now I've got photos that I want deleted in one album but not the other. The thing is I didn't realize my photo was doing this, nor did I know that my phone was saving the photo to both albums (when the photo was originally created). Now I don't remember which photo I wanted delete.
What I would like to do is, from my PC, organize this ciaos. I want to sync all my photos from both albums so I know exactly which photos I've got, delete them once, and sync them to my phone. Removing the photos that aren't suppose to be there.
Now, aside from just wanting to make sure any photo I want deleted is deleted and having my Camera Roll and My Photo Stream synced again, I do want to be able to do something else from my PC. I would like to do is better manage my albums. To go through my photos and put them in which ever album I choose to. Basically, to do what I can from my phone but on my computer.
I have looked at other threads, but have not found any answers yet. I've only been able to access My Photo Stream from my PC thus far. No other albums. I have went to the folder on my PC to where the photos are synced, but unfortunately they are all ITHMB files and are not sorted like they are in my Phone.

One thing that might help out.
The images that are in the ipod photo cache are optimized copies of what is in the folder when you synced the pictures to the iphone or ipod.
Using the original image would make for better printing or imaging then the optimized copies.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I load photos & Music to my iPhone 3G from iPhoto /iTunes?

How do I load photos & Music to my iPhone 3G from iPhoto /iTunes?
If I want to use photos as wallpaper on the phone do they have to be resized or can I just load them?

With your iphone plugged into itunes go to the tables for music, photos, etc and set to sync with the album, playlist you want.
Sounds like you might need to read the owners manual:

  • Since the most recent iPhoto upgrade, I can't sync photos from iPhoto to my iPhone or iPad. This is so frustrating! whereas previously all I had to do was put 'sync' as a keyword,

Why can I no longer export photos from iPhoto to my iPhone and iPad? Previously, when I used 'sync' as a keyword for a photo, it automatically exported to the other devices when they were synced with computer. This no longer happens so I don't know how to get photos from the computer onto my iPhone & iPad. Can anyone help as it's most annoying. So often updating software has really negative side-effects such as this.

I add the keyword 'sync' to any photos I want added to the iPhone/iPad.
Then, during the regular process of syncing the iPhone/iPad with my computer (mac), the photos with that keyword would be copied onto the iPhone, iPad.
I've been doing it this way ever since I was shown how to; ie after I got my iPhone 2 years ago. And every time the process worked - until the last few weeks. Suddenly it doesn't do it any more.
I believe I have upgraded software (either iTunes or iPhoto or both) during this period. I try to keep my software updated but have noticed previously that the new version often is disappointing.
I've not tended to use Smart albums much.

  • Can no longer sync photos from iPhoto to my iPad or iPhone

I can no longer sync from iTunes to my iPad or iPhone if I want to sync photos from iPhoto.  I keep getting the following error:
"The iPad "XXXXXXXXXX" cannot be synced because it cannot be read from or written to."
If I choose not to sync photos everthing works fine.

I had a similar problem only neither my iPad nor my iPhone would sync and I was getting error 1106.
I looked it up and it said delete the iphoto cache, which I did and I also turned of syncing photos.
Now when I turn on SYNC PHOTOS FROM, the choice of Select albums........ is greyed out and cannot be clicked.
I don't want to sync my entire set of photos.

  • Why won't all the photos from iPhoto sync onto my iPhone 5?

I am trying to put all the photos from iPhoto on my Mac onto my iPhone 5. Through iTunes, I select sync photos with iPhoto, then sync all photos, albums, events and faces. There are 285 photos in my iPhoto library and I would like to sync them all, but after the sync when I look at the photos on my phone, only 187 synced. What am I doing wrong?

I find the easiest way to transfer photos from iphoto or your computer in general onto your iPhone is to select the ones you want and click share then either iMessage or email them to yourself, its much faster and I don't know about you but i find iTunes to be a real pain when you sync photos because it always messes up your albums on your phone!

  • Importing photos from iphoto to iphone

I have the 'old' version of the iphone and cannot transfer photos from iphoto to the iphone. When i click on the photos tab for the iphone in itunes, the albums and everything except "sync photos from" at the very top are grayed out. Then my only option is to import everything from iphoto onto the iphone, which i do not want to do.
So -- how do I import only certain folders from iphoto onto the phone? How do i get the options below to not be grayed out?
Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

    newuser1969,
Did you try to rebuild the photo library?
You can find out if the issue is caused by the iPhoto library by testing with an alternate library. Just launch iPhoto while holding Option as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1229 Then import a few photos and open iTunes.
If the issue only happens with your main library, it probably needs to be rebuilt using the article I linked in my first response.
If iTunes does not see the alternate iPhoto library, you may want to uninstall and reinstall iTunes as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224

  • Importing photos from iPhoto into iPhone

I know you can import from iphone to iphoto...

  • Limitation Importing Photos from Iphoto to Iphone

I have over 28,000 photos on an external drive and want to import just selected photos, individual from there to my Iphone. In Itunes, I have the option to Sync Photo from Iphoto, or I can choose to sync from a specific folder.
If I pick Iphoto, I then have the option to pick all photos and albums (28,582 photos), a selection of recent events (1,3,5,10,or 20 most recent) or selected albums. Selected albums only gives me 3 choices Last Import, Last 12 Months or another folder called "test". None of these options allows me to pick an event or individual photo from say 4 years ago as an example.
If I choose the option to sync from a specific folder, I am also unable to navigate to a particular event other than folders that have been exported from Iphoto into the pictures folder. If I try to navaigate to applications and pick Iphoto, its grayed out and I cannot select it.
Please tell me that I do not have to export each specific picture one by one just to get them onto my Iphone???

Have you created any albums in iPhoto? if so, you should see them in the list along with "Last 12 Months" and "Last Import"; if not, when you do create them you'll see them. Create an album called "iPhone" (or whatever else you want to call it), put the pictures you want on your iPhone into that folder and sync it.

  • Can I move photos from iPhoto on the mac to my iPhone?

Can I move photos from iPhoto on my MacBook to my iPhone? If so, how?

Yes, which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
Covered in the iPhone user guide.

  • Cannot sync any photos from iPhoto to iPhone

I cannot sync any photos from iPhoto to my iPhone. When I select the box to "Sync Photos from iPhoto," it displays "0 photos" regardless of what other settings I try (all photos, selected albums, etc.). Attempting to sync from folders other than iPhoto works fine.
I have tried removing the iPod Photo Cache. (First syncing the iPhone with no photos selected, then removing the phone, closing iTunes and iPhoto, trashing the cache, emptying the trash, rebooting the iMac, restarting the phone, reattaching the phone, and trying to sync again.)
I've tried searching the internet for a solution, but have only found threads going off in multiple directions with no clear advice.
    iMac running OS X 10.9.1
    iPhoto 9.5.1
    iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0.4

Additional info: I tried repairing permissions, repairing the database, and even rebuilding the database in iPhoto. Rebuilding eliminated all ordering in my albums. Since this seemed to be only messing things up further, I then tried restoring my entire iPhoto Library from a previous version in Time Machine (when synching photos still worked). However, the problem persists. I am still unable to sync any photos from iTunes to my phone.
