Managed account. trying to get safari to access ALL web sites
I have a managed account for someone on my computer. Everything is working well except when this person goes to get their web mail and there is a link in the message to a web site. When the person clicks on the web site in the message, sarfari asks for administrative permisson in order to access the web site.
Is there any way to give a person with a managed account ALL access to web sites without having the admin clearing it for them?
OK, I am going to answer my own question.
I put FireFox on the desktop of the managed account and now that person has the ability to go online and download files from their web mail as well as view it once it is downloaded. End of problem. Now, I have to get this person off of my computer all the time LOL.

I am super frustrated with Safari in ios 7. I do not have the pages icon on the bottom right of Safari ios 7. When I press the plus sign at the top right I see 'private' on the bottom left side but there are no buttons on the bottom right at all. I am trying to get Safari to have the tab Rolodex look of the tabbed windows. So I can see the pages. Hope this is making sense. Why am I not seeing the pages button on the bottom right of Safari?

Safari Does Not Allow Access to Web Sites With Wildcard X.509 Certificates
I'm really getting irritated with the Safari browser in OSX Mavericks. One of the more irritating features involves the inability to access web sites that use improperly constructed wildcard X509 certificates. By improperly constructed, I mean that the X.509 certificate does not contain the host name of the system being accessed in the Subject Alternate Name list.
Earlier versions of Safari would, at least, allow me to examine the X.509 certificate and determine whether I wanted to proceed with the connection. The current version of Safari doesn't provide that option. It simply displays a screen stating that it can't establish a secure connection to the web site. If you actually have a need to access the web site, you need to use a web browser like Firefox.
What's really irritating about this is that Safari had improved to the point where it was reliable enough to be used as the default browser.
Is there a Safari.plist setting that will allow me to change the behavior of Safari when it encounters an improperly constructed X.509 certificate and provide me the opportunity to examine the certificate to decide whether to proceed or not?Hi
Have a look in your Networks panel in System Preferences. Click on the Advanced button, then Proxies. There may be an errant proxy present blocking the site load. -
Just in the past week, when I try to access many web sites, including PayPal and Capital One, I get a Untrusted Connection screen and it prevents me from entering these sites.
hello ra12rick, first please make sure that the date, time & timezone are set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a possible solution depends on different factors:

in case the error code equals ''sec_error_unknown_issuer'', please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page & inspect the certificate (see the screenshot attached for instructions):

Can't access some web sites with safari
Can't access financial web site since time before last of safari update. Any help?
In my original post, not today's, I had said I was having the issues on the Mini, running OSX 10.6.8 and Safari v.5.1.5 for my bank's pill pay. I should have been more specific as to which machine and OSX Safari browser I'm having the T-Mobile problem with. My mistake.
It is on both the MacMini and now the Air too. A moment ago, I was able to log in to my.t-mobile.com on the Air, but after putting into my Bookmarks folder, I can't do it anymore. The Log in button comes up greyed out instead of green.
I'm also still having trouble with my bank's bill pay section on both computers too.
I wonder if it's related to the saving of the log in info or putting in the Bookmark Folder? -

multiple windows open in safari when click on web site. Also can't change/edit DNS servers or any other changes in advance window of network tab.
Basically every time i click on website other windows open and get redirected to other websites selling something (same as that mackeeper site which seems to open often) Really ***** as in just a few minutes on the web I have many windows open and many are the same pages. Can't make changes in the advanced tab of network as options are greyed out and the + & - symbols do nothing when clicked. Hope there is an easy answer as surfing net is really sucking right nowI hope to get some more info on a similar situation.
I have a new Mac Pro, less than 2 months old. OSX 10.5 updated to 10.5.2. Quicktime updated too. When I use the Desktop and Screen Saver system pref, I can easily select and use one of the Apple supplied desktop pictures as a desktop background.
But I wish to use a Photo from an iPhoto (iLife 08) folder / album as the desktop background. I can find all the albums, I can see all the icons for the pictures, I can select an iconed pciture and it appears in the top left of the preference pane (showing the effect of "fit to window" or "stretch to fit", etc). But all I get is a pale blue screen (which might be my default desktop colour). I don't get any of my iPhoto album pics to appear as a dektop background.
There is one minor note on this, I don't keep the pictures in my iPhoto Library, I just reference them, and the originals are on a different internal disk.
I've tried the suggestions above, trashing finder and desktop plists, killall Finder, etc. restart. Nothing gets it working again. It did work originally, for most of the time I've had the Mac Pro, then I changed the dektop to an Apple supplied picture of Earth.
This affects both an Admin, and a standard user. The photos (and enclosing folders) are read / writable by the admin user, and readable by the Standard user. Both users can easily access the photos in their iPhoto. They open the original files on the second internal drive, and performing a right click - Show File shows the original file as expected. I've even emptied the iPhoto library completely and rebuilt it, just in case there was an issue here.
Any ideas ? or anyone else seen this ? I don't really want to start reformatting disks and reinstalling the OS, but any suggestions short of this are extremely welcome. -

I can only access one web site . www.cisco.com. I am connected to the internet via a lynksys DSL Router, I am using dhcp and NAT from the Lynksys note:works fine for 3 other windows based pc's.
when I try to connect to any other site the page Hangs during load and neve displays.
I can ping all of the web sites that do not come up

I am getting this error, but the above fix does not solve the issue, however I do know what has caused it.
I have an edmx file in a WCF webservice which feeds a silverlight app. The edmx is quite complex and a bit fragile, but was working fine up until I introduced our Industry Codes view into the model. The view is basically { ID, ParentID, Name, ... }. In my model I have created an association to itself which describes Children(*)/Parent(0/1) so I have a nice and tidy hierarchical structure. The edmx and the service build without any errors - hurrah! However, when I update the service reference I then get the below error (and a whole load of others as none of the webservice objects exist anymore):

When I try the fix mentioned in the link above this error disappears, but then so do all the objects in the datamodel, so I cannot continue from there.
Having the hierarchical data objects defined in the EDM will make like so much easier in future, any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Can't access some web sites with version 4.0
I recently installed version 4.0 and am in test phase of the server.
With or without ACL's turned on, I can't access the following web site

or
https://www.sunnet.sunlife.com/member/
In Internet Explorer, it sits on a blank page with the little world logo spinning around until it finally times out after a few minutes. I've tried accessing these sites with both IE6 and IE 5.5 and get the same problem.
As a footnote, the web access to these sites works fine with our current Web Proxy version 3.6.
Does anyone have any ideas why this isn't working through the new Proxy 4.0?
ThanksI did some additional testing through Proxy 4. All web sites and web pages including secure sites that I tried accessing over the past couple of days all appear to work fine with the exception of the forementioned sites. Access to these specific web pages (which I cannot currently access) are part of our day-to-day business requirements, and therefore will prevent me from using Proxy version 4.0 as our production proxy unless I can figure out why these web pages won't load, and how to fix the problem.
As an experiment, I tried to access these web pages through Proxy 4 with Mozilla FireFox and Netscape 7. None of these web browsers (including Internet Explorer) will bring up these web pages when going through Proxy 4. But bypassing the proxy or going through our v3.6 proxy works fine for these web pages everytime, and with all browsers. This leads me to believe that this web page access problem is not a browser specific problem, but something in Proxy 4 isn't processing the request to display the page properly.
As a reference, the web site in question is http://www.sunlife.ca. On the left hand side of the page go to "Sign In" then "Plan Members". Thats where the request hangs through Proxy 4 no matter which browser I use, including Netscape... but works perfectly fine with Proxy v3.6.
Can someone who is running a version 4 Proxy also please try to access the SunLife Members login page and see if it works or fails for you?

Safari crashing on certain web sites
My friends' iMac G4, running OS 10.3.9 has started acting strangely including Safari crashing on certain web sites. I had them clean out the cache, remove the cookies, delete the history and run disk utility--things they never did on their own. But the problem has persisted. I plan on having them reset safari and trash the safari preferences but I'm concerned it may be more of a system wide problem rahter than a problem with safari alone. They did email me the crash log, could someone comment on this and determine if it helps point to the root cause of the problem. Incidently I also plan on running disk warrior when I get over there in the near future. Here is the crash log...

I would guess that the web sites causing problems use javascript. It is strange that javascript should crash straight away, so I'm wondering it they have the correct version for 10.3.9?
There isn't an easy way to access this information except via Terminal (or Property List Editor if you have Developer tools installed). Here's the command you need, although I can see it will be tricky for you to copy and paste this command into another machine (you could always log on from that I suppose).
defaults read /System/Library/Frameworks/WebKit.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/JavaScriptCor e.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Info CFBundleVersion(that's all one line, by the way).
In 10.3.9, the version I have is 312.3.2, while in 10.4.10 I have 418.6.1.
If what you get from this is nonsense, I think you would be looking at an Archive & Install. An alternative would be to rerun the 10.3.9 Combo Update and the Security Updates that followed that, and then make sure to re-run the "SafariUpdate1.3.1.pkg 18/8/2005" and the "SafariUpdate1.3.2.pkg 5/1/2006" because both of those updated JavaScriptCore. -

Try this and see if it helps.
Settings>Safari>Clear cookies and data.
Now close Safari completely. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then "swipe up" or "drag up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
I just downloaded the new version of Firefox (ver 4). Now when I open Firefox I get the address bar but the information part of my screen is blank. This happens on all web sites. How do I fix this? IE works fine.
Did you check your security software (firewall)?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.
