Managed Ports in DFM not generating alert

I've just added a new 3750 switch in DFM. It is in known status and the ports that I want to managed are set to TUE. However, I do not get any alert in DFM console whenever one of the managed ports go down. I have tried to delete and rediscover this device from DFM but still the same.

I missed that you said you "typed" the shutdown command.  This won't work.  If a managed port/interface is shutdown, then DFM considers that a healthy state.  That is, the administrator has said, "this port is not being used."  No event will be generated.  To really test DFM, you need to "no shut" the port, then unplug it.  That should generate an event after about four minutes.

  • SQL MP - System Center Management Health Service Credentials Not Found Alert Message

    Hi Dears,
    I have read so many open cases, but I could not find solution to my situation...
    Error: System Center Management Health Service Credentials Not Found Alert Message
    Desc are 1 of those 2:
    An account specified in the Run As profile "Microsoft.SQLServer.SQLDiscoveryAccount" cannot be resolved.
    An account specified in the Run As profile "Microsoft.SQLServer.SQLDefaultAccount" cannot be resolved.
    Okay, I am fine, I  verify the RunAs account configuration and yes this is the problem... I was able to solve it for those SQL running servicec account using domain user account, I created the run as account, and assoistte it with SQL profiles,
    and it is fine....
    BUT, what about my 8 SQL Servers running SQL Service Account under System and Network accounts,
    so how Can I add this coz I cannot target all objects,so what shall I target (Object Health Service or WHAT)?
    Please I need it step by step coz I am not able to handle this issue....
    Thank you Guys

    Hi,
    If you have not distributed the Run As Account to a system, but we discovered SQL on it, you will see the error message.
    This condition may have occurred because the account is not configured to be distributed to this computer. To resolve this problem, please distribute the account to this computer if appropriate. You can refer to the following blog to distribute the Run As
    credential.

  • SCOM does not generate alert for logical disk space

    Hi,
    Today we noticed that one of agent in SCOM has drive space below 5% and 500 MB but SCOM did not generate any alert.
    I have also verified that there is no override set for this agent's logical disks.  I have also verified that discovery is able to discover all disks on server but monitoring is not working as expected.
    I have flushed health service on agent but it didn't help.
    When I gone through event logs on agent, I found below events:
    Log Name:      Operations Manager
    Source:        HealthService
    Date:          5/26/2014 5:13:05 AM
    Event ID:      1103

    Please let me if what we need to do here.
    Thanks.

    Do this
    Change startup type to Window Management Instrumentation (WMI) Service to disabled
    Stop the WMI Service; you may need to stop IP Helper Service first or other dependent services before it allows you to stop WMI Service
    Rename the repository folder:  C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\Repository to Repository.old
    Open a CMD Prompt with elevated privileges
    CD windows\system32\wbem
    for /f %%s in ('dir /b /s *.dll') do regsvr32 /s %%s
    Set the WMI Service type back to Automatic and start WMI Service
    cd /d c:\  ((go to the root of the c drive, this is important))
    for /f %%s in ('dir /s /b *.mof *.mfl') do mofcomp %%s
    Reboot the server

  • Manage-bde command is not generating recovery key on network location

    Hi,
    I am trying to save the recovery key to the network share location and start up key in the USB drive while enabling bit locker.When the OS drive gets encrypted, the default folder for recovery password shows that it contains 1 file but not getting anything
    inside it when i checked the properties of the folder.
    i have already changed the group policy as "choose default folder for recovery password".
    I am using the command to enable the bit-locker as "manage-bde.exe -on C: -rk
    <network location to save recovery key> -sk <location of the USB drive>
    -rp to enable the bit-locker. It is generating the start up key in the USB but not the recovery key on network share.
    Can anyone suggest what i am missing or what else i should do to generate the recovery key on network share.
    Does manage-bde process be able to save the recovery key on network share or it hand over to some other process to perform this task.
    Thanks
    Gaurav Ranjan

    I got you Manoj, but I want to ask you one think that what if i lost the startup  key or my USB stick. I have my recovery key on the network share.  In order to log-in my machine I need the recovery password. From where i will get the recovery
    password(48 digit). Surely from the recovery key on the network share. So how can i get the recovery password if only we have the recovery key.
    I know both are different in context. Both are two different thing. I have lost my USB stick along with the recovery password and I have to log-in my machine. How can i do that i want to know that. Do there is any method to get recovery password from the
    recovery key on network share. I have retrieved the recovery password when the recovery key in AD. But this time it is on network share.
    Also one think which I need to solve is that the manage-bde -protectors -add command creates a new .bek file along with the older one. So the .bek file which get shown at the time of the start up of the machine is different from that stored in the network.
    So i am getting confused as which .bek file is for which machine and hard to retrieve the password.
    Is there any method to store recovery key on network without the -protectors -add command line so that both the .bek file should be matched and can easily be known for indiviual machine in an OU. As if both the .bek files will be different it would be difficult
    to to retrieve the recovery password for the machines.
    Please do inform if you need some more information about the scenario if i missed something.
    Thanks
    Gaurav Ranjan

  • Option to Manage Thresholds in DFM not available

    Hi I'm running DFM 3.2.0 and when I tried to expand the tab to manage threshold on interfaces nothing is there.
    I tried rebooting the server to see if it fixes the problem no luck.
    I am able to expand Device type groups and make changes, not for the DFM or User defined group.
    I was able to last week though.

    It looks like something may be wrong with your DFM repository files.  Try shutting down Daemon Manager, then delete NMSROOT/objects/smarts/local/repos/icf/DFM.rps and DFM1.rps.  Then restart Daemon Manager, and see if you can modify threshold settings.

    Hi,
    I would like to suggest you reset the SDK account password (in this case, it seems like that the account is 'scomsdk'). And change the password for the account in service configuration.
    Please go through the below article for details:

  • Generating Alerts for OFM discrepancies

    Hi Gurus,
    Please validate my thinking:
    To generate alerts for discrepancies in DFC01 timeseries for OFM process, my assumption is this is done by:
    1. Definining OFM Service profile and selecting "Create alerts"
    2. Running a PSM job using service DFC_ORDER_FORECAST
    Currently this does not generate alerts, yet there are discrepancies for products between customer plan and suppliers plan.
    Please advice if I am missing something or in case I am using wrong PSM service.
    Thanks,
    J.

    Hi
    you can achieved this functionality  by using a UDF  for alert generation and also  give the details of your clarity tools in the UDF i.e. URL etc.

  • CSS11503 Management port connection loss

    Hi we run 2 x CSS11503 with box-box redundancy. I have configured both management ports with IP's and default gateways. The management ports work fine when the box is in "master mode" but as soon as it goes in to "ackup mode"I loose connection to the management port. It seems to me that when the box is in back up it shuts down it's TCP/IP stack??? Is there anyway to override this on the Management port?
    Cheers

    the management port should not be down when the CSS is in passive state.
    Are you sure the response from the CSS was going out via the management port ?
    Where you in the same vlan of the management port ?
    If not, did you configure a management route to reach your pc ?

    Gilles.

  • Alerts are not generated at all

    Hello.
    Please, help me with following problem.
    I have Site Server (SCCM 2012 with SP1) installed on server (Win 2008 R2 w SP1). On this server also installed MP, DP, FSP, RSP, Site Database, SUP. On second server (win 2008 R2 wSP1) installed MP and SUP.
    I want to monitor some SCCM functionallity with Alerts. I configure alerts for MP Health, SUP Synchronization failures, Database low disk space and so on.
    When i stop service (SMS Agent Host) on second server (or disconnect server from network) i can see Management Point status (in Site Status Status) changed to Critical (also appropriate event appears in event log). But no alert generates in SCCM.
    In test environment (this is not copy of production environment.. simply clean install of SCCM with some configuration changes for testing purpose) alert successfully generates.
    In test environment I see the following messages in smsdbmon.log:

  • Could not generate timestamp: handshake alert:  unrecognized_name using JRE 1.7.7

    I'm new to this so I could be making some mistakes, but I'm learning Fireworks and I'm using an example from Chapter 13 of the Classroom In A Book for CS5.  It creates an AIR application, but when I try to generate the application I get the following error.
    Could not generate timestamp: handshake alert:  unrecognized_name
    In my searches I came across a Flash Builder Help question and answer that lead me to a Flex Bug and Issue Management System report (http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-33243) that suggest this is a bug that effects JRE 1.7.
    It suggest the following work around:
    Uncheck the Timestamp check box in Package settings wizard and click finish.Application is successfully exported to Signed AIR package.
    OK, what? Does this Settings wizard exhist in Fireworks? Is there a workaroung?
    If I go back to JRE 1.6 does it work?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Chris,
    Fireworks is supposed to be able to make AIR files.  There is a Create AIR entry under the Commands menu.  I filled in the information for self certification and everything looks good until the last step.  When Fireworks tries to make the AIR files I get the error message.
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • Emails are not generated in CUP To approver, manager

    Hi ALL,
    I Configured one work flow  in CUP. I did SMTP Server setting, EMAIL Remainder setting.
    When I create new account request , CUP is provisioning access properly and automatic mail is going to that user. Mail is not coming to Approve r.
    When I create other requests (change account etc)  provisioning is done properly, but mails are not generated to user, approve r, manager .?
    How can I fix this? Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Joseph

    Joseph,
      There can be only 2 issues here:
    1) SMTP server config is not correct or CUP is not able to reach SMTP server.
    Ask Basis person to ping the SMTP server from CUP. If it works, then don't worry about 1).
    2) Email reminder job is not running or emails are going to junk email
    Check the log for email reminder job and make sure it is activated and running. check your junk mail folder.

  • Credit Management- KRML Output not generated for Sales Order ( v.v.u.)

    <u>Credit Management - Credit control check at Sales order Level</u>
    While saving the Sales order,which failed the Credit check ( As per Automatic Credit Check Settings), there is no output generated for output type KRML, for Partner Fn KB/KM. Normally,If credit check is NOK, then while saving the sales order, an internal mail is sent to the SAP office inbox of the Credit representative ( KB/KM). There is option for an external send also. The problem faced by us is that, the mail is not going in SAP Office inbox in quality server , it is going in developement server.We checked in table NAST that the Output for KRML (o/p type) is not generated. Kindly suggest what could be the reason.
    Regards
    Sunil Kumar

    Dear Mr. Gauravjit,
    Thank you for your valuable reply.
    At the Extra-Output-Header-edit-goto-det analysis ,system give message as KRML o/p is not generated since Requirement 009 is not being fulfilled. But we checked the VBUK-CMGST = B is satisfied. Still the o/p not generated!
    Also , in VV11 we maintained the Cond Records. Still the o/p is not coming.
    The output is coming in Devlopment , but in Quality the output is not coming.
    Can anybody please help !
    P.S. I am colleague of Mr. Sunil Kumar, and reply on behalf of him.
    With Best Regards,
    Kaustuv

  • Could not generate DH keypair error

    hi,
    My coding was running fine with JDK 1.41.3 but when i am trying to use jdk 1.5 its giving me an error
    "RuntimeException : Cound not generate DH keypair: in the method call sslSock.startHandshake();
    what could cause this ?

    Did you get any replies to this? If so, can you pass it along?
    We are having the same issue. Everything was fine with 1.4. With 1.5, on the server side, we get the following error:
    javax.net.ssl.SSLException: Received fatal alert: internal_error
    The server code is:
    SSLServerSocket ss = null;
    try {
    KeyManagerFactory kmf;
    KeyManager[] km;
    KeyStore ks;
    TrustManagerFactory tmf;
    TrustManager[] tm;
    SSLContext sslc;
    // Create a keystore that will read the JKS (Java KeyStore)
    // file format which was created by the keytool utility.
    ks = KeyStore.getInstance("JKS");
    // Load the keystore object with the binary keystore file and
    // a byte array representing its password.
    ks.load(url.openStream(), keystorepass);
    // Gives us a factory for key managers that will let
    // us handle the asymetric keys we created earlier.
    kmf = KeyManagerFactory.getInstance("sunx509");
    // Initialize the key manager factory with the keystore object,
    // again using the same password for security since it is going to
    // access the private key.
    kmf.init(ks, keystorepass);
    // Now we can get the key managers from the factory, since it knows
    // what type we are using now.
    km = kmf.getKeyManagers();
    // Next, create a trust manager factory using the same algorithm.
    // This is to avoid using the certificates in cacerts that
    // represent an authentication security risk.
    tmf = TrustManagerFactory.getInstance("sunx509");
    // ...then initialize it with the keystore object. This time we don't
    // need the keystore password. This is because trusted certificates
    // are not a sensitive element in the keystore, unlike the
    // private keys.
    tmf.init(ks);
    // Once that's initialized, get the trust managers from the factory.
    tm = tmf.getTrustManagers();
    // Almost done, we need a context object that will get our
    // server socket factory. We specify TLS to indicate that we will
    // need a server socket factory that supports SSL.
    sslc = SSLContext.getInstance("TLS");
    // Initialize the context object with the key managers and trust
    // managers we got earlier. The third parameter is an optional
    // SecureRandom object. By passing in null, we are letting the
    // context object create its own.
    sslc.init(km, tm, null);
    // Finally, we get the ordinary-looking server socket factory
    // from the context object.
    ServerSocketFactory ssf = sslc.getServerSocketFactory();
    SSLServerSocket serversocket = (SSLServerSocket)
    ssf.createServerSocket(port);
    serversocket.setNeedClientAuth(true);
    ss = serversocket;
    } catch (Exception e) {
    SeedServer._logger.error("Unable to create server socket:" + e.getMessage());
    System.exit(-1);

    System.out.println("Accepted connection from " +
    socket.getInetAddress().getHostAddress() +

    // Error message
    } catch (Exception e) {
    // Error message -- This is the one thats triggered

    // Error message
    } finally {
    try {
    if (socket != null)
    socket.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    The client code is:
    SSLSocketFactory ssf = null;
    try {
    KeyManagerFactory kmf;
    KeyStore ks;
    TrustManagerFactory tmf;
    SSLContext sslc;
    kmf = KeyManagerFactory.getInstance("sunx509");
    ks = KeyStore.getInstance( "JKS" );
    ks.load(url.openStream(), keystorepass);
    kmf.init(ks, keystorepass);
    tmf = TrustManagerFactory.getInstance("sunx509");
    tmf.init(ks);
    sslc = SSLContext.getInstance("TLS");
    sslc.init(kmf.getKeyManagers(), tmf.getTrustManagers(), null);
    // The process is different from here on the client. Instead of
    // getting a ServerSocketFactory, we ask for a SocketFactory from
    // the SSL context.
    ssf = sslc.getSocketFactory();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Unable to initialize SSL parameters");
