Managed Server showing FAILED STATE
Hi,
I am new to weblogic administration. I have one Admin and Two managed server on clusters. Recently I am seeing one of the managed server state as FAILED with health showing as OK.Other managed server is shut down due to different problem. While I was troubleshooting I am noticing errors like given below.
select count(*) from dual" set up for pool "AgileContentPool" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection".
I have enabled the following
Enabled the test connections on Reserve with test frequency set to 300.
I have also submitted an SR 3-5557683081 but do not seem to get a resolution until. Thought if I could get some resolution in this forum.
Thanks,
Ram
Hi,
I was able to test connection through weblogic console and it is successful. We use the weblogic for Agile application and users are able to use the system with no impact except that that server state shows as failed in weblogic console. JDBC drivers are updated with the latest ones.
Thanks,
Ram

Service Manager data warehouse management server Installation fails

Hi,
I am in the process of installing Business Objects XI 3.1 in one of our server. While installing I am getting the error 'The Central Management Server has failed to start. Press 'retry' to attempt to start it again or 'cancel' to skip any actions dependendent on the Central Management Server. STW00213.'
I have tried re-installing the BO, and also tried installing without giving admin password. But it doesn't work. And also I ahve tried giving the passwords of database and CMS Admin without Sepcia Characters. But it also doesn't work.
If I cancel and install the BO, Server Intelligence Agent is not available in Central Management Server.
Could anyone help on this issue?
Thanks
PrakadeshHi Prakadesh,
Try these steps.
1. Stop and disable the service of current SIA. You can do it from start-->run services.msc. Double click the SIA service and change the status to disable.
2. Login into sqlplus and drop all the CMS tables.
3. Create a new SIA pointing to Oracle from the CCM.
4. Start the new SIA and check if all services come up and you are able to login into Manager servers.
If this does not work, check the event viewer for error messages.

SCOM 2007 R2 Root Management server showing Not Monitored State in Ops Mgr Console
Hello Experts,
In my Prod SCOM 2007 R2 environment RMS server state is "Not Monitored", But we are receiving alerts with limitation. By mistakenly I put Maintenance Mode while rebooting RMS server due to slow performance of the server.
Can anybody help me to revert back to the RMS Health state ?We can identify the Performance Signature Data Collection Rules in this example by executing the following SQL Query. This query should be executed in SQL Management Studio against the Operations Manager database.
-- Return all Performance Signature Collection Rules
Use OperationsManager
select
managementpack.mpname,
rules.rulename
from performancesignature with (nolock)
inner join rules with (nolock)
on rules.ruleid = performancesignature.learningruleid
inner join managementpack with(nolock)
on rules.managementpackid = managementpack.managementpackid
group by managementpack.mpname, rules.rulename
order by managementpack.mpname, rules.rulename
This query will return all Performance Signature Collection Rules and their respective Management Pack name. A column is returned for Management Pack name and Rule name.
The following Performance Monitor Counters on a Management Server will provide information concerning Database and Data Warehouse write action insertion batch size and time. If the batch size is growing larger, for example the default batch size is 5000 items,
this indicates either the Management Server is slow inserting the data to the Database or Data Warehouse, or is receiving a burst of Data Items from the Agents or Gateway Servers.
· OpsMgr DB Write Action Modules(*)\Avg. Batch Size
· OpsMgr DB Write Action Modules(*)\Avg. Processing Time
· OpsMgr DW Writer Module(*)\Avg. Batch Processing Time, ms
· OpsMgr DW Writer Module(*)\Avg. Batch Size
From the Database and Data Warehouse write action account Average Processing Time counter, we can understand how long it takes on average to write a batch of data to the Database and Data Warehouse. Depending upon the amount of time it takes to write a batch
of data to the Database, this may present an opportunity for tuning.

regards Sundaresan.CJeremiah,
We ran into this as well. One of two options:
1.) Just run a repair on the SQL Server installation
2.) Repair the WMI settings on the SQL Server as descibed here:

Managed server in WARNING state in Obiee 11.1.1.7.0 prod env
Hi All,
We have OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 running in our company. Last couple of days we are experiencing that, the managed server "bi_server1" always changes to "warning" state in every 20 to 30 minutes or so. Reports are too slow and behaves funny after warning. When I restart opmn, then it shows health is "OK". But again changes to "WARNING" after sometimes. It says: Thread pool has stuck threads.
We have got a RAC environment of database and our OBIEE is pointing to one of the node and i can tnsping to it. I can increase the StuckThread time to 1200, 1200 or so instead of 600, 60 for bi_server1 in the console as found somewhere as a tuning process but not sure if it will help much!! I can't even cancel the long running queries in the "managed session" of obiee analytics.
Kindly advise what exactly is causing this problem and what must I do to resolve this??
The bi_server1 log file displays the following error:

Thanks,
BK.I had similar issue in windows 7 [64 bit].
It is found that the nodemanger windows service was not present and I had to create it by executing installNodeMgrSvc.cmd present in wls server location say, 'C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin' in my case and then come to bi wls console and 'Resume' the bi_server1 managed server. You would see progress in the installer once the managed server bi_server1 is 'Running' state.
Hope this helps. -

Edited by: user7322888 on 2010/2/4 下午 11:41Hi,
Reproducing this issue is very easy.....
1). Just Create a Admin and Managed Server
2). Start AdminServer then from Admin Console Disable the normal listen-port for admin Server (suppose it was 7001 disable it)....AND enable only the SSL port for Admin Server (example 7002).
Managed Server (Listen Port=7003 and SSL ListenPort=7004)
3). Now Try Start Managed Server.
you wil get the Exact same exception
<Jan 20, 2010 6:03:19 PM CST> <Error> <Configuration Management> <BEA-150000> <An error occurred while establishing a connection back to the adminstration server t3://140.126.24.25:6001 during startup. javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException [Root exception is java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException: The object identified by: '31' could not be found. Either it was has not been exported or it has been collected by the distributed garbage collector.]
And
<Emergency> <Management> <BEA-141151> <The admin server could not be reached at http://140.126.24.25:6001.>
Now it will be easy for us to find out where is the issue actually.

We tried to upgrade from SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.1.6.
After upgrade when we tried to start our managed servers we get the below error. Did anyone ran into this? If so how did you resolve it?.
Its still referring to some Weblogic 10.3.4 libraries. We were not able to find out where..

Thanks,
JpHi,
I found an oracle note with the next solution:
Add -Xverify:none to the JVM Arguments in the WebLogic console if you're using Node Manager to start managed servers:
1. Go into WebLogic Console
2. Navigate to Environment> Servers> [Sever_name]> Server Start> Arguments
3. Add -Xverify:none to the arguments
4. Restart the WebLogic server
5. Retest the issue.
6. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.
Or
If you're not using Node Manager to start managed servers:
Edit the WebLogic start-up script to add -Xverify:none to the JVM arguments
See if it works for you

Hi, I get the error below when starting a managed server.
Strange, because I did not have any problems before...
I did update my license file and I created an extra managed server
(cloned from this one, but with other IP address)

Pieter.

Edited by: Sunny.Zhang on 2009-10-3 下午6:58Hi All,
It is same case with me :( , Unable to start managed server wls_ods1 during OIM 11g installation.
My base_domain is configured with the following
1) Oracle JRF 11.1.1.0 (For ADF runtime)
2) Oracle Identity Management - 11.1.1.2.0 (From OIM 11g)
The list of things are not yet configured
1) Oracle WSM Policy Manager - 11.1.1.0 (From OIM 11g)
2) Oracle WSM Policy Manager - 11.1.1.0 (From oracle_common)
3) Oracle JRF Webservices AsyncServices - 11.1.1.0(From OIM 11g)
4) Oracle JRF Webservices AsyncServices - 11.1.1.0(From oracle_common)
5) Oracle Enterprise Manager - 11.1.1.0 (From oracle_common)
I'm not sure, if I've to extend my domain for the Oracle WSM Policy Manager and/or Oracle Enterprise Manager. Or I have to check something else.
Please let me know if you have overcome this issue.
Thanks,

SC 2012 R2 - Operations Manager - All servers except Management server show Not Monitored
Hi all,
I have installed System Centre 2012 R2 - Operations Manager and configured on our Domain and running without a problem. I used the VHD available here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=40844
I have created a single VM called VM1 and installed Windows Server 2012 R2. VM1 has also been joined to our domain.
The management packs for Server 2012 R2 have been downloaded to the SC2012 OM.
I have discovered and added in VM1 server to the OM Server. I can see the agent running in VM1 (Microsoft Monitoring Agent) but it always shows as "Not monitored".
I have restarted both servers, found the guide regarding "Greyed out or Not monitored" but the steps outlined have not resolved the issue.
The account used in the test domain to install and run the service is a Domain Admin account. The test domain network also disabled the firewall on all member servers.
I have stopped all services on the OM server, renamed the "Health Service State" folder as suggested but nothing has resolved the issue.
Could anyone please help me? If more information is needed I would be happy to provide it.
Thanks in advance,
GrahamThank you all. After coming into the office today I checked the event logs on VM1. All afternoon I had been getting 4 events every 15 minutes;
Three x 21023 - OpsMgr has no configuration for management group SCOM12 and is requesting new configuration from the Configuration Service
And one error, 20070 The OpsMgr Connector connected to SCOM12.test.local, but the connection was closed immediately after authentication occurred. The most likely cause of this error is that the agent is not authorized to communicate with the
server, or the server has not received configuration. Check the event log on the server for the presence of 20000 events, indicating that agents which are not approved are attempting to connect.
However at 00:04, I can see an event log 21019 - OpsMgr has returned to communicating with it's primary hostSCOM12.test.local and since then regular Health Service logs.
I checked in OM and now it is showing as Healthy and monitored - I guess this just needed a lot of time to configure itself? Is this normal behaviour?
I also checked VM1 TCP 5723 which it says was not open (the firewall is off on the server however it is working in OM.
PS C:\PSScripts> Test-Port -computer VM1 -port 5723 -tcp
Server : VM1
Port : 5723
TypePort : TCP
Open : False
Notes : Connection to Port Timed Out
Thanks again for your help. If it goes again I shall create a new post. -
Server showing "failed" in Network Diagnostic
Up until this past Monday (10.22) I was able to print from MacBook with my HP printer connected to my Airport Extreme. Now I receive the following message:
Unable to connect to printer (retrying in 30 seconds): Operation timed out.
Then when I click on HP Officejet -> Printer ->Network Diagnostic I see that everything is green lit with the exception of "Server" which is saying failed and I get this message:
Network Diagnostic was able to connect to the Internet, but not to the server "HP Officejet J5700 series.pdl-datastream.tcp.local.". This could be caused by problems with the server, or an Internet problem between computer and server.
I've done the unplugging Aiport and Printer, deleting and reinstalling System Preferences. I need other suggestions please.I am afaid this isn't an answer but I have never been able to get my HP DEskjet 4260 to print through the extreme base station from either of my 2 Macs, 1 i Mac and a macbook running Tiger. I think it might be something with the HP Drivers for Mac because on the same network i have set up a Windows laptop which prints perfectly well using Bonjour. I get the same error message and hen you check network diagostics through the printer menu it shows a red server failed indication. It can't seem to establish a connection to the printer.
I have done all the checks and changes recommended by Apple Tech Support and they have no idea. They were going to get back to me but never did. The fact that it works perfectly well with Windows is a bit ironic! I am going to try HP tech support next!! -
