Managed to refrenced - via relocate (1.5.3)

I changed from managed on my laptop to referenced, I moved the images by selecting the library and using relocate masters moved them to my external drive (keeping projects as folders).
I then re-imported the folders as project but "referenced" them instead of importing.
worked ok but all the edits and rotates are gone.
I thought relocating and then referencing kept all the edits etc?

There is no need to do anything but the relocation, the relocation changes the files from Managed to Referenced simply by moving the files from the Aperture Library to somewhere outide. By reimporting Aperture has assumed that these are new files and therefore the existing versions have no master.
If you need to change the location of the Masters, rather than re-importing you should use the Manage Referenced Files in the File Menu.
First, select all the files in the Project, then go to Manage References Files, find the same file in both windows of the dialogue box, click Update Selecion in Browser, then click Reconnect All. This will make sure your versions remain in place.
Cheers,
Terry

  • Can I manage resource designates via the command line?

    I would like to manage resource designates via the command line and
    the <i>"unires"</i> command does not seem to have this function. Could I use
    <i>"uniadmrights"</i>?
    # uniadmrights -e -add -resrc -n 10000
    <br>
    -e modify user rights, search filter
    <br>
    -add set user right on (-e only, default)
    <br>
    -resrc resource administration
    <p>
    The <I>uniadmrights</I> command is not able to assign designate rights. You can assign
    rights such as the ability to create and manage public and administration
    groups. The "Resource administration" flag exists so far only on the
    server side, and it is currently not used by the client. This is for future use.
    <p>
    There are two ways to assign a designate to a resource:
    <ol>
    <LI>Log on as the resource via the client. There are only a few commands
    available, one of them being the "Access Rights".
    <P>
    <LI>On the server side:
    <P>
    Edit the /users/unison/misc/resource.ini
    file and create a new section to specify the resource designate.
    <P>
    [DES]
    Designate0 = S=Lastname/G=Firstname
    <P>
    Run the unires command as follows:
    <P>
    % unires -mod "R=resourcename" -s DES 10000
    [sysOpPsw]
    </OL>
    <P>
    <B>Note:</B> The full resource name should be used eg. "R=Resource/N=1/CA=2/ID=2
    57"

    This sounds like a job for wget . You'll have to build and run it on Unix or Cygwin.
    You could also build a test suite to do this in various testing tools. You could even write a short Perl or Groovy script to do this, or a slightly longer Java class.

  • Manage-bde error via prompt.

    Hi !!!
    I have a big network with 200 Laptops all with Windows 7 32-bit version installed.
    Now i want to deploy bitlocker security with TPM,all this laptops have the TPM module enable.
    I'm installing bitlocker via remote prompt launching this command:
    1) manage-bde -tpm -TurnOn          'work fine
    2) manage-bde -tpm -TakeOwnership Password              'work fine
    3) manage-bde -on C: -RecoveryKey "\\ip\folder\filename" -TPMandPIN "Password" -SkipHardwareTest
    This lastone give me this error:      Error: Error trying to save the key on disk.
    I want use bitlocker with tpm encryption and with a password at start, I have to save the recovery key on a share folder on my network. (I have the permission for this share)
    If i replace the "\\ip\folder\filename" field with C:\ is work fine ......
    Thanks a lot in advance !!!

    Seems the -RP parameter does not support UNC path. Please try to Map the shared folder with a drive letter and use the drive letter instead.

  • Managing computers remotely via website

    I would like to be able to manage my computers at school via
    a website. I have an application using VB scripts that a co-worker
    wrote, but we'd like to move it to running from web pages. How do I
    run such scripts on remote computers from a webpage? We are still
    in planning stages, but anticipate using either a MySQL or Access
    database to store information and also using ASP pages. Our
    webmaster doesn't like PHP for some reason, thinks it created
    errors on the server and so turned it off. Are there useful
    websites with this information already (haven't found any yet
    myself) or can I get some help here? If I am unclear about anything
    I wrote, I'd be happy to clarify.
    Thanks.

    Generally browser security will disallow certial scripts to
    run as they can
    provide too open a hole for hackers to run maleous files. If
    you wish to
    control the machines remotely then I would look at dedicated
    applications
    such as Remote Connections.

  • Starting managed server's via NodeManager from command line.

    In WLS 70 weblogic.Admin utility has been enhanced to start/stop/kill
    managed servers via NodeManager.
    Here's the syntax
    java weblogic.Admin -url {admin server url} -username {admin user}
    -password {admin password} START {managed server instance name for e.g. S1}
    Pls make sure that the admin server & Nodemanager have started prior to
    executing the above command.
    Similary you can issue "SHUTDOWN S1" command which will shutdown the
    managed server.
    See weblogic.Admin for more info. With this interface you don't need to
    go to admin console to remotely start/stop managed servers.
    Hope it helps
    Kumar

    Solved: attention must be paid to the casing of the attribute name. The first character of the attribute name must be uppercase.
    So the property must be set as following:
    set JAVA_OPTIONS=-Dweblogic.ssl.ServerPrivateKeyPassPhrase=<the_password> %JAVA_OPTIONS%

  • User Managed Hot Backup via Sql

    Hi being a bit old school - I am trying to understand the steps required for a Hotbackup managed via Sql ( sorry all RMAN fans ! )
    I understand that I can backup each tablespace in turn ( via the necessary ALTER TABLESPACE <x> BEGIN BACKUP and then take it out of backup)
    I presume also that I simply take a backup of my control file ( wither as binary or as trace if need be )
    I am also guessing that you do not backup the Redo Logs ( since you will reset these on any recovery anyway )
    The bit I am not sure about is the Undo Tablespace - can it be backup in eactly the same way as any of the other tablespaces ?
    Are there any other components that I need to backup ( apart from archive logs )
    thanks,
    Jim

    But c'mon .... user managed backups? How about dictionary managed tablespaces? initialization parameter files instead of spfiles? Ok, I'll give you the DMT (old skool hippies should be lol now). But user managed backups do have their place, and seriously, I think plain old parameter files are in many cases better than strange binary things that need special software to manipulate and require you to remember arbitrary things. I cuss at regedit every time...

    What is the business or technical justification for not going with rman?
    I can still remember my grandfather arguing with the guy at the tire store, insisting they put inner tubes in those "newfangled" tubeless tires . . .My last lawn tractor had much better luck with tubed replacement tires than tubeless with puncture sealant. Naturally as soon as I bought a new tractor I got a puncture, it doesn't come with sealant. Anyone who's ever struggled with a bead that doesn't set in without a high pressure air pump will appreciate grandpa's point of view. As well as sew-ups.

  • Manage Time Capsule via Server App

    Hi,
    I used to be able to manage my Time Capsule via the Server app, but now all I get is "Incorrect Password"
    I know for a fact that the password is correct. How do I fix this?

    Hello kidclaude. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    1)Set bridge mode the modem to avoid it could generate NAT conflicts via DHCP(if I'm not wrong bridge mode excludes the DHCP function in the internal server of the modem)
    That is correct, reconfiguring the modem as a bridge should disable both NAT & DHCP.
    2)Let time machine to manage the DHCP
    By default, both NAT & DHCP are enabled on the Time Capsule (TC).

    Ever since Apple released iTunes for Windows there has been a clammering for a version of iTunes in Linux. So far it appears Apple has resisted doing that. There justification is too small of a market share for Linux.

  • Managing File Sharing via WGM

    I can't see a way to do this, but I thought I might as well ask...
    Is it possible to manage Sharing preferences from WGM? I want to ensure that users cannot turn on personal file sharing, but they have a need to be able to access the preference pane - so restricting it fro opening is not an option.
    TIA

    Hello Christopher.
    I looked into this and opened my WGM. You can disable the whole "Sharing" tab from the preferences pane. You can do this setting for specific computers or computer groups or users / user groups. So open up WGM. Select one you like to set preferences to (user, group, computer/computer group), and select "Preferences" from the top menu bar. Then Select "System Preferences" from the list that opens to the middle right, and then select to manage "Always" or "Once". You see the list below of services that you wish your computer / user to grant access to. Then just uncheck all the services you want to be disabled for that computer /user, and hit Apply Now.
    And you are all set! Was this helpful?
    Sincerely,

  • Managing remote clients via internet.

    The question have maybe been asked before.
    I have been speaking to Apple Support Sweden and UK and they give me different answers so now i would like to ask all the users of Apple Remote Desktop if what i would like to achieve with buying this software actually would works.
    I have Clients all over the world, all mac users, and they are never at one place longer than 24h. They have no higher computer skills then getting online to check mail and all the rest they need to be able to use to manage their work life.
    Would i be able to use ARD for accessing my client computers without having to ask them to contact the computer admin at the hotel or where ever they might be at that time and place to sort their port´s out.
    To be able to store the users details for future use and just ask the client to if needed a "whatsmyip.com" and that would be all i would need to access them much like Skype finds its way trough any possible firewall without VPN tunnels and things. Just that Skype would not really be as professional and functional as ARD
    Thank you all in advance.
    Best regards

    ARD would be awkward to use with clients that are always roaming. You'd constantly be dealing with IP address and router/port issues, something especially problematical with hotels where firewalls often block the necessary ports (and hotel admins generally will not alter their firewalls to accommodate such use). I would instead suggest a service such as LogMeIn. These services generally work much better with clients on the move.
    Regards.

  • SAP Management console security via HTTP

    Hello,
    We have just started using the HTTP connection to the SAP MMC via port 5<SysNR>13 and have found that you can connect straight to it without it asking for any authentication.
    It does ask if you try to shut anything down and you have to be an administrator on the server as well otherwise it won't do anything, however you can freely look at the logs and other information without entering any passwords.
    The Help for this new method of connecting just says how to use it and nothing about how to secure it.
    Does anyone know of a way to get it to ask for a userid and password when you first connect to it?
    Regards
    Garry Bayford

    Thanks, but I'm afraid that only really says how to protect the connection.
    What I'd prefer is to have the console ask for a userid and password when you first connect to it.
    We've found a profile parameter called service/prtoectedwebmethods that might be suitable as it may allow us to protect the individual items in the console itself. Not ideal but better than the current setup.

  • Manage AUR updates via pacman?

    Ok, so there's a program I want, thats in the AUR.
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=29499  (thats the app)
    And after doing some reading this time, I installed base-devel via pacman, then I stopped, because since this is a nightly build, I would want to automate this process as much as possible.
    So, in short... since after the package is compiled, it looks like it's install in this example (pacman -U foo-0.1-i686.pkg.tar.gz    ) by using pacman.
    Is it possible once installed, then. that when I perform a pacman -Syu, it will check that package for a new version in the AUR?
    If that's not possible with the software, is it possible to make a script that will automatically download the new tarball, compile, and upgrade the version via pacman? I'm not very good at scripts yet..
    Thanks!

    I'll give that a try. I had read through those in the wiki but they all seemed to be able to automate the build system, I didn't see one that would tie updates of the AUR's into the pacman -Syu command. I'll give yaourt a try first and see if that does what I'm looking for.
    Thanks again! (and sorry for all the questions, first day with arch, lol)

  • Removing Multiple Managed Mobile Users via ARD 3?

    Is it possible to find a simple way to delete all non-admin user accounts from a 10.4.8 system without doing it on a one at a time basis?
    The basic idea is that at the end of the semester all accounts, other than the local administrator account and system accounts are deleted (immediatly) from the computer. The next semester's crew of students then have a "clean slate" to start from.
    My other option is to do a netinstall of an entire software package. This is done at shortly before the start of a new school year with the new software being added and old software being deleted but during the year I woud prefer to simply remove the student accounts.
    All accounts to be deleted have Netinfo uid's which are very much above those for accounts which must remain on the computer. This seems to offer a possible way to seperate system accounts from student accounts but so far I have not found an easy way to use this type of seperation to remove the accounts.
    Both going to Systems Preferences and Netinfo Manager allow deletion of a single account at a time but do not allow (as near as I have found) any way to list several users for a delete as a block.
    If need be, I can live with manually identifying the individual accounts and having them all in a block to be removed from the computer.
    Part of the problem is that we are an Active Directory campus and there is a flat out refusal to allow an Apple server access to the systems so this pretty much blows away Workgroup manager as an option.
    Any Ideas? I have looked for scripts from Apple or other sources but so far I have not found anything useable. There was one I had been using in 10.3 but it no longer seems to like 10.4 and I have not been able to modify it to work with sucessfully with 10.4

    Offhand, I'd say that's probably a job for dscl, running in a loop, looking for any "UniqueID" > 501 (assuming that your admin account is 501 of course).
    I'd try asing somewhere like "http://macenterprise.org/". Someone there might have some ideas.

  • Delivering Profile Manager Policies/Enrolling via Workgroup Manager MCX?

    Does anyone know if it is possible, and what strategy one would use for enrolling clients in an existing WGM/MCX infrastructure into a Profile Manager managed scenario?
    Basically, what we are talking about doing is automating the run of the .mobileconfig profiles/Enrollment profiles on each system.
    Assuming one can deploy WGM settings to these systems, is there a zero-touch way to enroll them?
    Thanks.

    You can create many different workflows in Deploystudio and these can do all sorts of things, such as partition a hard disk, image a computer and enroll them in configuration profiles, bind to active directory, set open firmware password. Of course you can also create a single step workflow that just enrolls them and reboots. Enrollment is one of the build in templates.
    If you have ARD, you use the GUI to copy the profiles to a certain directory and reboot (there are instructions on the net).
    If it doesn't work, there is also a UNIX command you can run in the GUI.
