ManagedAvailability still reporting uninstalled server as missing

Hi,
during a migration I temporariliy had two Exchange 2013 CU2 servers installed. After the migration was complete, I uninstalled one Exchange 2013 CU2 using the proper procedures. Two days after the uninstall, the monitoring agent of the ManagedAvailability
is still reporting the old server as missing with the following error in the eventlog:
Machine '<old server>' has failed to heartbeat since '11-9-2013 22:30:30', as observed by machine '<new server>'. Restarting the Exchange Health Manager service did not fix the problem.
How can I correct this error?

I have the same problem (2013 CU3), but removing all my HealthMailboxes and rebooting the system did not resolve the issue.
Can anyone think of any more tips?
Here is one that has worked for me:
Go to: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v15\ActiveMonitoring\Subjects
and delete any old server entry if you see one and restart MSExchangeHM.

Crystal Reports "Report Application Server"

Does anyone have any experience with Crystal Reports' Report Application Server (RAS)?
The provided documentation is very thin and support are taking an age to respond.
I want to use a Bean as a data source for a report. The blurb says you can do this, but the only documented way I can find is for the bean to return a ResultSet, completely missing the point of using a bean or EJB in the first place.
Now, Seagate's sales blurb states that Beans and EJBs can be used as data sources, but if the only way to do this is to return a common or garden ResultSet, what's the point of the bean???
So, has anyone sucessfully used a bean or EJB as a data source for report generation under RAS, or merely CR in general, without resorting to a ResultSet??

Crystal Reports YUK!! especially in Java Forum!Tell me about it!!
But, like many developers, I don't get a choice. I have to use CR, and I have to integrate it into a Tomcat (4.1.24) based app. There is a Java API for RAS, but it is a pile of dung. Can you imagine publishing an API with public methods with 'do not use, for internal use only' plastered all over them!!!
But still, back to the original question, I have to find a way of doing this, but Seagate's javadocs are a mess, as are the howto docs. All of the examples, as you might expect, are childishly simple and don't give any insight into the large and hideous API :(

All well and good, but RowsetController doesn't have an AddDataSource or SetDataSource method!!!!

Now, what the hell is the point of going to the trouble of abstracting your business data into a bean or EJB, if that bean has to return a ResultSet for Crystal Reports to use??!!

Report Application Server won't start. CCM always says Starting....

I am complete newbie to doing admin for Crystal Servers, forgive the question:
(Win Server 2003 r 2 / CR XI)
Report Application Server won't start which is preventing other servers from starting in CCM.
Reboot machine several times and still having the issue.
Get an error msg in Windows before login window appears stating that the crystalras.exe application requested a runtime to terminiate in an unusual way (.Net error).
I get the following error msg in my event viewer.

We installed some Windows Server Updates about 3 months ago (at the time, over 70 Windows updates were installed) but, this problem hasn't shown up until 2 or 3 weeks ago. I think a .Net Service Pack might have been part of the updates at that time. When we did the updates, Windows was shutdown and updates installed per the preferred option of Windows. But now when rebooting since that time, the server continually reccomends the install updates and shutdown option. Do we need to rollback the server to date prior those updates if possible?
I have also uninstalled .Net Framework back to 2.0. Is 1.0 or 1.1 the max that will work with XI?
Should I also try to uninstall all other Windows updates?

Problem with Crystal Report Job Server Destinations

I am using Crystal Reports XI Server and I am having problems with scheduling. I believe that the problem is that I have not enabled any destinations under the Crystal Reports Job Server. The following is an observation list:
-Enabled and set up all destinations for other servers, such as the Destination Server.
-Have been able to use Infoview to directly email, inbox, and file save reports in different formats (I believe the Destination Server controls this, right?)
-All servers are enabled in the Central Configuration Manager
-Have been able to go into the Crystal Reports Job Server within the CMC, but I DO NOT FIND ANY destinations to enable (why is this?)
-Have not been able to schedule an instance of any report (neither email, nor inbox, nor file, ...nothing)
Could somebody please help me with this? Is this a limitation to the Crystal Reports XI Server vs the Enterprise edition? Is there something else I am missing? I have never been able to successfully schedule a report.

I have Crystal Reports XI Server R2 installed as 5 named user license (version that comes with developer)
The following servers are enabled in CMC (which is all of them)

-DomainNameSQL.destinationjobserver (has all destinations enabled)

-DomainNameSQL.reportjobserver (has destinations tab, but there are no destination entries to enable! Object type is: CrystalEnterprise.Report and detail: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/UserException:1.0

These are the ONLY two event IDs that appear after I schedule the report instance. No other events occur.
Are there any other logs that I can check? How do I look up what event ID 45387 and 45385 are?

DPM 2012 R2 Rollup 1 x64.. cant save scheduled report.. gives error: "Reporting services server cannot connect to the dpm database"

The error also has "to repair the configuration, follow steps for repairing dpm from DPM setup help ID: 3001

I tried these steps, but everytime i try to change it, it tells me:
"The permissions granted to user 'domain\userid' are insufficient for performing this action rsaccessdenied..
Nothing seems to work..
I thought if i went into sql management studio and made sure my userid had admin rights to the db it would work.. but i cant change it there (via integrated security).. i believe i need to login as SA, but i dont recall the password for SA, though it appears
i can change the SA password from within sql management studio.. i'm unsure if doing so will break DPM though or is even needed to fix the reporting integration issue..
Any thoughts on this?

I used the domain sqlservice account and test connection was ok.
However.. accessing reports still crashes in the MMC

When i recreated the db.. i called it Reporting2 or similiar..
Then the reports folder i created called "Reports Folder"
Then datasource name "reports datasource"
The issue here is that the DPM reports in the reporting web interface are gone, since this is a new DB.. how do i redeploy them

i went back into the sql reporting services area.. hit change db.. chose the original .. then back to the url.. went to the OLD reporting services folder and datasource.. added the connect string and now reporting area works.. so does scheduling..

Oops spoke too soon.. the first time i set it to do "status" as a schedule.. it seemed to work (clicked ok, no error).. went back and added an email notification..
Now i'm getting.. "an error occurred causing the reporting job to fail" "system files may be corrupt".
Seems to only occur if i try to add the email address portion

Problems installing Crystal Reports 2008 Server on Windows Server 2008 serv

I attempted to install the Crystal Reports 2008 product on one of our Windows Server 2008 servers.
After installing disk 1
Crystal Reports 2008 Server attempts to open up in IE...... but opens up to a blank page

anyone have any idea why? why does it not prompt for the second CD?
Is this a compatibility with Windows Server 2008?

I'm attempting to install CRS 2008 on Windows Server 2008 as well, and I'm running into a few issues. Did you ever get yours resolved? I started by trying to use IIS, but I'm uninstalling it completely now and will try Tomcat instead. Which route did you go?

Report Job Server goes Offline

I've had a persistent problem with the Report Job Server in the CMC going offline (BO XI R2). I try to stop/start but I get a message that the server is already in the requested state (started).
I've tried disable/enable -- still it is offline and my reports won't run.
I check the CCM and all the servers are running. The Event Viewer in Windows shows that the Report Job Server has stopped..."Unable to contact server sccecho2.reportjobserver.jobserver to change its enabled status. Please restart it."
The only way to get it started again is via a server reboot. Then the reports will run.
This problem seems to happen shortly before I have several reports scheduled to run and none of them get sent off due to the Report Job Server being offline.
Is there something else I can check somewhere or other thoughts as to what is causing this persistent problem?

I am trying to export a webi report from a Java application. When I connect to XI R3.1 report server, it is throwing me the following error. The error is at the line

I amable to connect to the BO server and get the list of reports but when I try to open the document after getting the service(boReportEngines.getService(...), no error at this point), it is throwing the following error. So I upgrade our internal reports server to Enterprise XI, and adjusted out .Net web application to make. However, I still get the error listed above. We have a report application server running and can not find any document online about this problem. Any ideas?

Hi Fade,
Ah, the SDK for CR for VS is not what you want. What you need to do is log into Service Market Place and go to the appropriate download section. The SDK is NOT installed as in previous versions with Crystal Reports Designer, it's a separate download now.
I assume you are also using CRSE 2013 then so you get the SDK from SMP:
Then in the list you'll see .NET installer for SP 1 or SP 2, you must use the same patch level as the Server:
If you don't see this option then please contact your account manager to give you access to SMP and the download section.
If you are not set up you will not be able to see the above.

Financial Reports WIndows Service(s) missing?

I'm trying to install Oracle EPM version 11.1.2.1, and I'm pretty far along, but this seems weird. Everything is installed and configured, but I have no Windows service(s) for FR on the services tier server.
Looking at the startup order in the Installation and Configuration Guide, I see Financial Reporting Services listed just before Financial Reporting application server. I assume this is what used to be the 4 services on the services tier server that have been consolidated to 2, but I don't see any.
I double-checked the installer, and I have no check box under the 'Services' tier heading for FR, and no "Financial Reporting Services" item listed when I go into "choose individually." This seems wrong, but I'm not sure. I re-downloaded all 13 files from e-delivery that are flagged as necessary in the Readme. Still, nothing.
Print server is installed with the FR client, evidently? Is it not a server-side service anymore? Or is it now OK to install the FR client on the same machine that the server is on, which used to cause problems?

Hi Joe,
Can you provide a link to the documentation you are reviewing and make sure it is for 11.1.2.1 version?
There are two services for FR - the Financial Reporting Web Service and the Financial Reporting Print Service. That is all that you should need.

It is a server side component that they decided to bundle with the client installer... It's a bit strange to me.

Getting error "Cannot initialize Report Engine server. (RWI 00226)"

Hello All,
We have BO XI 3.1 running on AiX 5.3 and db2 9.5 with fixpack 6.
I am getting error "Cannot initialize Report Engine server. (RWI 00226)" Whenever i am trying to create a document or report.
We were not getting this error earlier. getting it since few days.
currently our web intelligence processing server is not running and showing the status as "initializing and disabled".
every time when i tried to restart web intelligence processing server,it is going to initializing status only.
I tried to enable the trace for this server but it is not allowing me to do and throughing the error " Configuration, auditing or enable/disable state change rejected; server SIA.WebIntelligenceProcessingServer is currently being initialized."
I also tried creating a new instance of web intelligence processing server, even it has also gone to "initializing" status all the time.
Environment Information:
BOXI 3.1 SP2
OS: AIX 5.3
DB: DB2 9.5 Fix pack 6
Plese help in resolving this issue.

I already tried the solution provided by you. I stopped BO server completely and restarted it again but it does not worked for me.
I have stopped the old Web intelligence processing server and created a new instance and started, but the new one has not started but going to initializing status.
It even not allowing me to delete the newly created instance, saying that it is still in initializing status.
Please suggest me if anything else i need to check.

Add report to server

In the Crystal Management Console I am the 'administrator' on server, when I go to particular folder and tried to upload a report:
On the right click => Add => I've two options only:
Add Program File
Local Document
I don't see an option to update 'Crystal Report', What am I missing?

Developer Reports 6 Server Tuning

I've successfully installed Oracle Reports 6 Server and it works. However, it takes a while when I access a report (.rdf) from a web browser. I've been reading documentations and played around with some parameters but it still loads slow. Any inputs on tuning this?

tune your queries such that they come back really fast then check your
report server performance with running it
from a command line (rwcli60) and see what happens.

The report path is pointing towards my folder containing the reports, and the relevant file is being found with File.Exists, however upon using rep.Load, the exception message 'Load Report Failed" is being posted.
I have installed the correct runtimes as I have another application running on the same server, and that isn't having the same issues. Perhaps the reportPath is different but I am not sure.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The cause is like a niddle in a haystack...:. I did remember seeing something like this and have a KB created for it but it is not available on SCN yet.
1245654 - A Crystal Reports.NET web application deployed using the Visual Studio 'Publish' option, throws "Load Report Failed" error.
Here is the solution from KB. (Works for VS 2010 too)
Compile the web application in Visual Studio.
On completion of the build as success, go to Build -> Publish Web Site.
In Publish Web Site window, set the target location.
Check the Allow this precompiled site to be updatable checkbox (by default it is unchecked).
Check the Use fixed naming and single page assemblies checkbox (by default it is unchecked).
Click OK to proceed ahead and publish the web application.
Make sure that the Crystal reports in server machine are of the same size as the one in development machine, to ensure.
But I still copy the CR reports manually.. but thats just my way.

Crystal Reports error - The Report Application Server failed

I am getting the following error on XP Professional system. These reports were built earlier by one of my collegue and am trying to use the app but i stuck up getting the below error. The report gets failed

Hi,
I am trying to replicate the same issue on new desktop which has crystal reports 9.1 & 10 installed. I still see crystal reports 9.1 controls when i open VS.net. when i compare both desktop installed softwares, i found that the other desktop has "Crystal Reports 10 .NET runtime installed" which is not there on the new desktop. please advise whether i need to install this software to get ver 10 components installed? Appreciate your help on this. can you also advise the software download location for 10 .net run time installation?
In other words, though crystal reports 10 got installed on this desktop but it is not getting referenced in VS.NET. I am seeing only 9.1 version assemblies are being used. hence my solution is not getting compiled in this desktop. Please advise how to get the version 10 assemblies referenced in the solution
