Management Cockpit: Variables and Exits

Hello,
Quick question for all of you. Problem is that we are using the cockpit to view hierarchy information as per our BW query which has it defined to always bring back two levels of data. CPM simply ignores the lower level and only displays information for the node chosen within the cockpit.
Has anyone ever developed a management cockpit where the user is allowed to use a run-time dropdown variable within the cockpit to select a node in the Org hierarchy..while having the system return only the sub nodes (next level below) in the result area? Or maybe the node chosen and the subnodes?
User Scenario:
The user would like to first run the cockpit (initial prompt) for one organization node and see (for that node) how actuals are tracking to budget for a number of KPIs. Next, they would like to....
While remaining inside the cockpit, the user would like to change the view (by using the Org drop down) to only show the sub-nodes of the node that they pick. This will allow them to compare across the sub-nodes? We are trying to use a BW customer exit variable to trick the query into only returning the sub-nodes. We haven't had much success and we are looking for any suggestions.

Variable and Exit

Hi all,
I have this problem: I need to create a variable, so I can filter values in a query. This variable needs to find a value in an infocube. The value i'm looking for is the same for every record in the infocube, it is an ID for the data load. The infocube holds only one dataload (the last one), because every time it loads something, it deletes the previous one.
I think I shouls use an exit to find this ID, but I don't know how to build one. Then I should create a variable that uses this exit, but I don't know how to do that.

How will you assign Run time variables in Management Cockpit

Hello Gentlemen,
Can Someone tell me the how will you create runtime variables in the management cockpit. Does BW Variables any where related to this. I tried creating and use them it is not displaying anything in the cockpit presentation. It is literally blank without any bars in the graph

Hi Sindhu: Are you using the Informatica Cloud Mapping Designer? Currently the Mapping Designer does not support embedding parameters within expressions, it only supports parameterizing entire expressions.

Open module for managing property file and environment variables

Looking for an open module for managing property files and environment variables (like CLASSPATH) set in a shell script. For handeling properties (preserving comments, supporting includes, appending new entries, and more) I have looked at SuperProperties from openadaptor but find certain functionality lacking. As for interfacing with common shell scripts/files containing setting for CLASSPATH, JAVA_HOME, other system/application variables another type of object editor is needed. Maybe JFIG?
Any ideas are greatly welcomed.

You seem wright, you hit a brick wall here with Air to find the location
of the command console on windows...
So in fact I never build an exe tool, but this little problem was a nice
case to test it and I tried it.:
I downloaded monodevelop
-GTK# for .NET 2.12.10*
-MonoDevelop 2.4.2*
from http://monodevelop.com/Download
created a console project and had an exe in 5 minutes !

For a query i defined a Customer exit variable and a condition....
Which will first execute...wether it is a Variable and then Condition or vise versa
Is there any way we can control sequence of execution
My requirment is first to execute the condition and the variable how can i control this

In your customer exit you will be having a field by name I_STEP which will help you to handle the time of execution of the variable.

Value range(column chart): management cockpit

Hi friends,
how can i put value range condition in column chart. my situation is like this
I have 10 employees with expereinces 4.1(i.e 4 yrs 1 month),5.5, 1.2, 0.5, 3.5, 0.2, 4, 6, 7 and 8.
I want to present in column chart in x-axis like <1 yrs, 2-4,5-6,>7 and in y-axis count.
How can i achieve this. I maintained calculated keyfigues(for <1 yrs, 2-4,5-6,>7) on key figuer total experience and, in bi report i'm getting correct output. Even total experience is also calculated key figure and perfectly viewing this value in cockpit. But in managment cockpit, remaining calculated keyfigues(<1yrs,2-4,5-6,>7) i'm not getting. So i want to prefer to set value range in chart.
pls suggest me.

Hello Raju,
You can achieve this by simply using a User defined Periodization & Time Variable.

Defining Periodizations
1.     To define a periodization, choose Periodization in the dialog structure.
2.     Choose to switch to change mode.
3.     Choose New Entries.
4.     In the Periodization column, enter a name for the periodization (up to four characters).
5.     In the Fiscal Year Variant column, choose the fiscal year variant on which you want to base the periodization. (The periodization itself is based on periods of the fiscal year variants.)
6.     In the Long Text column, enter a descriptive name for the periodization.
7.     Save your entries and return.
8.     In the list of periodizations, select the periodization you just created.
9.     Choose Interval in the Dialog Structure.
10.     Choose New Entries.
11.     In the Interval No. column, enter a sequential number for each period to be defined, starting with "1".
12.     Specify the left time limit (= Start column) and the right time limit (= End column) of the range by entering the respective period of the fiscal year variant on which it is based.
Eg: In your case you follow this
               Start Column          End Column
Period 1(<1 yrs)           1               12
Period 2(2-4 yrs)                     13               36
Period 3(5-6 yrs)                     37               60
Period 4(>7 yrs)          61               specify the no. of months you want to calculate for
13.     Save your entries and return
In the Cockpit-Frame-Design screen for the mesures(KPI) on the Y-axis you select the check box of Periodization and select this User defined Periodization created by you. You click on the aggregation box too to get the cummulative value for the defioned periods.

I'm working at a manufacturing company that needs to follow up production data at a daily or at least at a weekly basis. Is it possible to present data on these levels in Management Cockpit or are the only options month and year?

If your taking report from SEM / BW, whichever server your taking report there you have to create a time variable for week
You have to do a little bit workaround for this
Create time char for CALWEEK
Write coding in update rules to feed them - feed directly if source is having calweek values,
If not you have to write a routine referring the available time charrs
Then inculde this in time char in your data target and in the query and in the selection screen of the query
To include in the selection screen you need to create a variable for selection referrring this time char for week

Double_click and exit SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN in one step ?

I have a program where the user can click a function button on the selection screen to display a ALV list of all entries this user has made. From the ALV list, I want to allow them to double click a line and return the values to the selection screen and exit the ALV list.
I got the functionality working to display the list and return the values to the calling program. But after double click the ALV list is still displayed. I have to Green Arrow back to return to the original selection screen where the values are filled in. What do I need to do to have SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN exit as part of the double click event? The following code is in the main program that has the selection screen.

Try to insert SET SCREEN 0. LEAVE SCREEN in the method of the event for doubleclick
But why have you used that event?
SAPLSLVC_FULLSCREEN is main program of ALV GRID function module, you should manage the doubleclick on USER_COMAND

How to derive value from another variable and use it to read master data?

Hi,
I have following case:
First I need to read the value from Cost Center -variable (ZIPCC) and then I need to use that value to determine the home currency of that cost center from the cost center master data table (field: OBJ_CURR).
I know to basic idea on how to do this, but don't seem to get the syntax correct. Could someone point me in the right direction?
So the objects in play are:
ZIPCC = Cost center selection variable (mandatory, single value)
ZIPCUR = Cost Center Currency variable (customer exit, single value)
0COSTCENTER
0OBJ_CURR = Field in cost center master data

Thank you very much for your example I can see that this logic works! However I'm experiencing trouble in selecting the 0OBJ_CURR
This kind of declaration isn't working: "D1 Like /BIC/0OBJ_CURR."
And the same goes for the Selection:
"Select single OBJ_CURR into D1 from /BI0/PCOSTCENTER where COSTCENTER = i_t_var_range-low."
This is where my syntax also went wrong.
0OBJ_CURR is a unit, is there a special way to declare it and use it in the code?
(and 0CURRENCY is a reference unit for 0OBJ_CURR).
Do you have adivce on this?

Text Variable(Customer Exit) displays variable name instead of its value.

Hi Gurus,
My requirement is to display the year(from variable) as the field name i.e Year end salary 2009.
I was using the fields name as hardcoded values like 2009 but as per my requirement i need to display it from the variable.
I tried using Text Variable using customer exit, but I'm getting variable name(zvariable) instead of value(2009).
Please help me out, many thanks in advance.

Actually I tried to create a Text Variable with Replacement Path.
But here the problem is that we have a Characteristic Variable (Customer Exit) which is not listing in the selection box of Replacement Path.
Hence we tried to create another Text Variable (Customer Exit) and refering to the same Customer Exit code.

How can I access managed bean variables in the entity Impl class .
While inserting a new record in DB , i want to set few entity properties values . The values of those properties are available in the managed bean .
How can i access those values from Managed Bean and set them the entity Impl class to override the create method.
