Management Console with Multi App Servers (BPC 7 SP06)

Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded to BPC 7 SP06 from 5.1 and was wondering how Management Console suppose to really work...
We have multiple Application Servers running behind load balancer, so when I login to http://<loadbalancer>/ManagementConsole i could "land" on any application server. Management Console itself doesn't tell you which App Server performance counters it's pulling...
There is a setting in the webconfig: <add key="APP_Server" value="<Application Server Name>" />
Does it support multiple servers?
Also, "End Process" button to end running processes without even confirmation - can that be disabled?
Regards,
Akim

Hi Clinton,
if you have followed the installng guide of 7.5 and the 2 docs about management console, not sure if useful but you can check also if the ISS windows authentication is right, see please http://www.iis.net/configreference/system.webserver/security/authentication/windowsauthentication
Otherwise I would ask to SAP.

  • Lanuch Remote Access Management Console with a connection to a remote server

I've installed the Remote Access Management Console on my Windows 8 workstation so that I can administer DirectAccess on a Windows Server 2012 server without having to connect to it with Remote Desktop. However, every time I launch the console I have to
click "Manage a remote server" and enter the server name. Is there a way to launch the console with a command-line parameter that opens the remote server automatically?
I've tried running ramgmtui.exe with the name of the server as a parameter, and I've also tried running "ramgmtui.exe /?" but the console doesn't launch at all when called with any of the parameters I've tried.

    Hi,
Have you installed Remote Server Administration Tools?
You may use Server Manager to Manage another server. Once you add a server, it will be listed in All Servers. So you will never have to enter the server name.
For detailed information, please view the link below,

    Hope this helps.

  • BSPs configuration with multiple apps servers

    Hi Masters,
This is regrarding configure ICM and BSPs on our production box with multiple application servers.
We have our production box in a cluster environment.
The central instance is dbciSAP and apps servers are sapaps2 thru sapaps6. The database is on shared disks. Whenever the central instance fails sapaps2 takes the control and become as dbciSAP but the main dbciSAP never become a application server when ever sapaps2 acts as dbciSAP. Since we have configured load balancing concept in production environment the users can login to system thru any application server. This is waht our environment.
As part of our production box to SAP 4.7 upgrade from 4.6C, we are asked to configure the environment to deploy BSPs. We have successfully configured and deployed the BSPs in our DEV and QAS system  (Both are central instances with no application servers) except production box which is due in the next month.
The process we follow to activate BSPs is as follows:
1.Define an ICM service port in /etc/services file.
2.Add the ICM related parameters in instance profiles.
3.Make sure the ICM status is active in SMICM tx.
4.Activate the BSP services in SICF as per OSS note 571484.
Now, the question is how to configure the same ICM service and activate the BSPs since we have multiple multiple application servers.
Subsequently What I am enquirying is:
Do I need to define ICM service ports on each and every hosts where the application servers are running?
Do I need to make changes to each and every instance profile of the application server?
What are the differences in configuring ICM services on central instance and application instances?
Appreciate any help in this regard.
    Thanks and Regards
    Murty Patchipala

    Grasshopper,
I think what you should really read up on is the SAP WebDispatcher.  If are serious about running BSP/ICM across multiple app servers, this is the key technology:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/42/5cfd3b0e59774ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm  This may also answer some of your questions about profile parameters.
Other than that I can share what we did.  We did activate the ICM and services on all app servers and central instance.  The service ports of the individual servers aren't that important now because of the WebDispatcher (at least they aren't visible to the user).
Yes we did make some of the ICM profile changes in each instance profile.  If your settings are the same, consider using the default profile.   Are their particular settings you are interested?  I will look over ours, but I don't remember any huge differences from APP server to Central Instance.

  • Logon to WebGUI from Management Console with wrong Ports

    Hello SDN,
I install the new SAP Management Console on my workstation. It works perfectly exept logon to abap through WebGUI.
If I cklick on to <SAP Logon...> from the context menue of the ABAP instanz, I get a browser with an URL   http://<host>:50000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui. That doesn't work because the Port of ICM is 8000.
How I can setup the right port?
    Many Thanks in advance
    Vladimir

    Hi,
many thanks for your answer, but something is not clear.
I call SAP MC with such URL  http://server1:50013/sapmc/sapmc.html
The ABAP System that I want to logon is under the URL http://server2:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui reachable.
If I try to logon from SAP MC I get an URL http://server2:50000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
    ICM on server1
icm/server_port_0 is setup for HTTP 8000 on abap side(server2). This is ABAP only ERP 6.00 system
    ICM on server2
    icm/HTTP/j2ee_0 = PREFIX=/,HOST=localhost,CONN=0-500,PORT=5$$00
icm/server_port_0 is setup for HTTP 80$$
The question is - what ICM use SAP MC in that case?
Where I schould maintene the ICM parameters?
    Best regards

  • Use port 50013 (Management Console) with User/password

    Hello,
I have a problem. We had a security auditory of SAP systems. They have seen that the port 50013 (Management Console) has not any security with user /password.
Is there a way to put a security before the information?
    Best Regards.
    Pablo Mortera.

    Hi Pablo
The SAP Managment Console is a UI (Applet) to access the functionality of the sapstartsrv process, This process is used for montioring and administration of SAP instances and listens on port 5nn13 (or 5nn14 for https)
It is expected that you can access the UI without authentication but to carry out administrative functions (which are sapstartsrv webservice method calls) , such as shutting down an instance for example, authentication is required.
By default only the most critical of these web service methods require authentication but the list of protected webmethods can be modified. Please see note 927637 for more details

  • IOS7 accessibility zoom conflict with multi app closing

I some times can't read small text or see small indicators so I turned on the zoom function from the accessibility settings. When I open the multitasking window, I usually need to close as much apps as possible in the least time so I flick three fingers up the screen to close three apps at a time. When the zoom is enabled from the settings (not the actual zoom (double tap three fingers)), I can only close two apps at a time, when it is disabled I can close three apps at a time. I believe this is a bug with iOS7, I wanted to tell apple but I didn't know how except through here. Please tell me if you have the same bug and that I'm not alone.

A Chrome extension is out which enable Bootcampers to swipe back/forth for pages. You can get it here:
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mgegfjnccpnkdppohmfgnjalkediapkc
    Or search for it yourself:
    Swipe Gesture
    In google addon store.
All credits goes to antimatter15.com for creating this. It's still at an early stage, but very useful indeed. And as seeing that swiping back/forth is one of the most used multi touch features (at least to my experience) this addon is a godsend. Also has no problem with people running virtual machines, as the addon can simply be turned off.

  • Appv Management Console with https

    Hi,
    MDOP 2014, Appv 5 SP1 (server)
I have a problem with adding the package from https source (IIS).
All other communications seems to work with server <> clients over the https, so the appvpublish server -url is https.
Import-AppvServerPackage : An unexpected error occurred while retrieving AppV package file. Internet error code: 12030
    - The connection with the server was terminated abnormally
    ERROR_WINHTTP_CONNECTION_ERROR 12030
The connection with the server has been reset or terminated, or an incompatible SSL protocol was encountered. For example, WinHTTP version 5.1 does not support SSL2 unless the client specifically enables it.
With package source as UNC share or http all works, but when I try to import from the https source, I get above error during package import.
The appv Server-Management event log gives:
There was a problem retrieving the requested package https: //[Server]/[Path]/Application.appv for import. Error message: Exception from HRESULT: 0x80072EFE (as Event ID: 217)
If I drop the ssl away, and use only http, then package goes and works.
    What could be the issue?

I suppose there is a certificate trust relationship between the clients and the servers (i.e. the clients trust the issuer of the server certificates).
Are you using the FQDN to connect to the .appv file? Did you enable TLS on the client?

  • Using BC4J Components with different App Servers

Can we use BC4J with 3rd party Application Servers (WebSphere, Weblogic, iPlanet etc)?
If so any advantages (Performance, Implementation, installation) in using these components with Oracle iAS?
    Thanks
    null

BC4J allows different ways of deploying your application.
    1) Local Mode : where your client application and BC4J application are colocated togther and running in the same VM
    2) As a EJB session bean
    3) As a corba server object.
Using the Local mode deployment option you can deploy the BC4J application to any appservers (weblogic, websphere, iplanet) as long as they have standard VM and if your client application is JSP or Servlet then the appservers need a JSP or Servlet engine.
In JDeveloper 3.1 you can deploy BC4J applicaiton as EJB session bean to Oracle8i
In JDeveloper 3.2 ( which will released in next few weeks) you can deploy BC4J application as EJB session bean to Oracle8i , Oracle iAS and weblogic .
iAS comes preconfigured with BC4J runtime by default

  • Cannot Launch BPC Management Console

    Hi all,
I am unable to launch the BPC management console.  I have installed BPC 7.0 for MS and is running under Win server 2003 and SQL 2008.  I am able to launch to BPC home page and have installed admin and office clients already.

Do i need to change something from the web.config file?
    Thanks!

I think something was not right during the steps when you enabled Management Console.
Any way I suggest you to check if you have the table tbllogs and tblBPClog into appserver database.
It seems actually some components or some table required for Management COnsole are missing.

  • Management console problem after installing recommended patch cluster

    Hello everyone.
I just got a new SUN 440 server, it didn't come with the solaris os installed and so I installed solaris 9 12/03 to it. The installation went fine and I could start the management console with no problems at all. Then I went to sunsolve.sun.com to download the latest recommended patch clusters for solaris 9 (this was yesterday Sept.-06-2006), I downloaded the file, checked it with md5sum, unzipped it, went to single user mode and ran the install_patch script. After the patch cluster finished installing I rebooted the server for the patches to take effect, I logged in, tried to run console management 2.1 and it starts OK but I cannot use any services it offers because it says (in the console events):
"Server Not Running: no solaris management console server was available on the specified server. Please ensure there is a Solaris Management Console server available on the specified host and that it is running"
When I click on "See Exception" I get (for a particular service that is... in this case com.sun.admin.fsmgr.client.VFsMgr - for managing file systems):
    java.rmi.RemoteException: Server RMI is null:
    at sun.com.management.viperimpl.client.ViperClient.lookupServer(ViperClient.java:376)and so on...
I already checked that the service is running on port 898 and it seems that there is no other app. using that same port. I also restarted the service using /etc/init.d.init stop/status/start but I get the same results.
I don't know solaris very much and don't know what else to do, please help.
    Thanks in advance.

Well, I guess what you see isn't what you get.
Guess I'm used to the fact USENET just left things formatted the way they were :-O

  • SCCM 2012 Admin Console deployed using APP-V v4.5.3 crashes

    Good afternoon,
I am trying to deploy the 2012 SCCM Admin Console to users via APP-V v4.5.3.
I built a clean Server 2008 R2 Standard server, ran the APP-V sequencer and created the package. Then copied the package to our APP-V server and ran the Application Virtualization Management Console to Import the Application.
Having completed the work above the SCCM Admin Console icon appears on the relevant users desktop and opens / connects to the SCCM site server successfully.
Problems arise when you begin to navigate around the SCCM Admin Console. As soon as you select anything the console crashes with the error: Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.exe has stopped working - Close the program
    Any ideas please ?
    Andrew

As far as I'm aware sequencing the ConfigMgr console is not supported. However there are blog posts on how to do this.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/appv/archive/2013/01/08/how-to-sequence-the-microsoft-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-admin-console-with-microsoft-app-v.aspx

The App-V versions in these posts are V4.6 SP1 and V5. I see that you are using V4.5.3. Perhaps this is the problem.

enterprise manager did not install with installation of 11g client Administrator version. The documentation says that there is a standalone enterprise manager console with 11g client. Does anyone know how to install this console?

There is no longer any oem standalone console in 11g, this is a new feature in 11g. There is a java application named sql developer and the web enterprise manager console, that's it.

  • HT5188 Can I use Profile Manager to deploy paid Apps?

Can I import VPP codes and push the apps to the ipads without user interaction?

No, some user interaction will be required. With any MDM they will have to accept the app.
While we use the term push, the user has to accept all App installations on the device. They will have to touch install. Please read below from:
    http://krypted.com/iphone/configuring-using-profile-manager-2-in-os-x-mountain-l ion-server/
" This brings up an interesting limitation of how Profile Manager interacts with the App Store. It kinda’ doesn’t. If I were pushing apps to elementary school iPads in a 1:1 I could either use Apple Configurator (if I wanted to burn up a VPP code per student per year) or I could use iTunes (if I wanted a labor intensive process of restoring an iPad per computer rather than a parallel process). But either way, I’m gonna’ stay away from Profile Manager for apps.
So if you push an app to a device and the user taps on the app and the screen goes black then make sure the app is owned by the AppleID signed into the device. If it is, have the user open App Store and update any other app and see if the app then opens."

  • Open SCSM Console with arguments

    Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to open SCSM Console with arguments.
I will explain it with an example: we have a tool which keep a track of all incidents that have been escalated to our managers. If a manager is responding on an escalation via email, it would be great, that we can add a link in the mail which immediately
    opens up the concerning incident.
I can however not find the option to open a specific incident from a program other then SCSM console.
This should be possible for normal end users who are using SCSM console day-by-day.
    Kind regards.

    Hello Marat,
Thanks for the answer, this is indeed a good starting point. However:
You can only search for Requests (incidents) where you are the affected user. The person who wants to consult the incident, is not always the affected user. In the SCSM Console, you can search for any incident, and even if you are not the affected user,
you can still read the ticket, and that is what I want to achieve.
That is why I asked if it was possible to open the Service Manager Console with arguments. Like for example: I want to open Internet Explorer and navigate directly to
    http://www.bing.com/ I can execute this command on my PC: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
    http://www.bing.com/
Or when I want to open a remote desktop connection to a specific server I can run: mstsc /v <servername> /f
Is it possible to do a command like this: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center 2012\Service Manager\Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.UI.Console.exe" /s 93035d8c-f810-b6c6-f117-604d9f002ef3  ? Or with other arguments, which
can trigger the search option like you see it every screen of the SCSM console on the upper righthandsite ? Maybe without the GUID and only using the name of incident (IR654650) ?
    Thanks for helping me out.
